Ruthless #2

Maria's Journey

Rate this book
Compelling, Brutal and stretching every boundary of Love and loyalty to its limits; Maria’s Journey will leave you wondering how she ever survived and remained the lady she is.

Continuing to chart the turbulent lives of Jimmy, Maria and Mickey, once again it delves into London’s violent, depraved, criminal underworld. Despite the fairytale wedding when she married Jimmy, Maria soon learns that life is not easy being his wife. Having to contend with his terrible bouts of jealousy and violent outbursts, she soon realises that her life is easier when she simply agrees to all his demands. Having experienced his darker side and his dominant sexual aggression, she struggles to maintain her balance in an increasingly violent world. She has to deal with the heartbreak of a stillbirth, the bloody and bitter rivalry between Jimmy and his nemesis Dave Sheridan. Then, when the unimaginable happens, she has to face her own personal demons as she spirals into the depths of depression. It’s only with the unfailing support of Jimmy’s closest friend Mickey, her faith and her love of life that she manages to battle through.

Maria's Journey is the second book in the RUTHLESS series.

About the author

Karen Clow

Karen Clow is passionate about her writing especially her erotic crime books; as they cover topics which we all like to believe don’t happen, when in fact they do on a daily basis. Sex crimes along with women who live in fear of their partners are real. All her work comes from the heart which is reflected in her ability to write in different genres. Her books leave you believing in the topic and wanting to read more. She is fiercely protective over her family and has always endeavoured to have time for them and her writing, so it’s no surprise that she often writes during the night hours. With a genuine love of people and animals, she strives to help everyone in the hope of making their lives better, yet unbeknown to many of them she is also a published poet .

Another hit

This book had so much to give to the reader I couldn't put it down. The terrible life Jimmie gave Maria and she still loved him, the characters are brought to life by the talented miss Clow who is superb at her craft, I can't wait to read the next book.

Liked it, but not as much as the first book.

Wanted Jimmy to redeem himself, then just wanted him to go away for being such a dickhead. Can't decide if I'm disappointed or not in the direction the author took.
