This book combines mystery and romance with an insider's view of life on a tiny British Columbia island in 1952. In some respects it is a study of crime and punishment. Colorful characters and a high emotional content make for a quick and pleasurable read. I think it's great but then again, I wrote it. The real question is what do you think?
