I probably started this book like 2-3 times and never got further than the first few pages becuase I just didn't understand anything and couldn't remeber the Kanjis. Then I studied to get a basic repertoire of something like 500 Kanjis and finished the book in 1-2 weeks, loving every second of it.
In my opinion it's terrible for learning Kanji (if you are not the guy who likes to sit down and write each Kanji 50 times to finally get it in your head) since learning anki-card style is way easier than this. But apart from that it's really awesome. The stories are fun, a beautiful art style, you learn a lot (and I mean A LOT) about japanese culture and the way of teaching grammar is just marvellous!
Really strong recommendation! but no 5 stars since there are some errors and the Kanji-problem should be noted somewhere.
