“It's a relationship of trust Courtney. I trust you to set the limits, to hold me to them. And you trust me to know what you want, even if you won't ask for it, and to stop when it's too much."

So sad that this didn't work out so well for me, it was a short read, but it couldn't hold my interest enough. I was starting down one path of what I thought it was about but then it totally took a different turn. There was a lot of rehashing the previous events, usually I don't mind that but it kinda made the sex a bit too much (I know blasphemy, how could I think that... me lover of all things sex). There was a strong "hint" of BDSM, but nothing explored in detail, fantasies and mentions only. I'm all for a good BDSM book, but this was more about control, controlling the other person, what they wear, what they do and more than once humiliation was used, which makes me uncomfortable, simply because personally I don't get off on that.

His Every Touch by Harriet Lovelace
(Complete four part novella series)
Source: Purchase
Rating: 2/5 stars

From time to time and when the mood strikes I do a general erotica search on Amazon. Make no mistake, I don’t purchase the first thing I find but search for reads that have received good ratings from multiple readers. If I am going to read erotica, I want a good story to accompany the naughty bits and have found this many times over. Unfortunately, His Every Touch fell sorely short of this mark despite having received solid reviews.

I freely admit there are no major issues where writing style, grammar, the type of sex described etc. are concerned; it is with the characters and plot that I take issue. Courtney Bell is a young woman who has, unbeknownst to herself, held the attention of her boss Vance Forster for many, many years. In fact, Courtney and Vance went to high school together and while Courtney never knew of Vance’s existence, he well knew of hers. In fact, as an adult Vance still carries anger and resentment toward Courtney for never acknowledging his presence while in high school. Mind you, Vance never, ever bothered to try and approach Courtney or make himself known to her.

In the interceding years, Vance has schooled himself in the art of BDSM with the intention of not only satisfying himself and his own desires but also to satisfy a more devious and insidious plan. Vance has spent his adult life planning to ensnare Courtney and make her sub to his dom and when she is broken and totally and completely his, will then reveal to her just how humiliating her submissiveness really is in his eyes. Vance’s ultimate goal is to humiliate the woman who ignored him in high school. I remind you, dear reader, Vance never, ever attempted to make himself known to Courtney.

As planned, Courtney falls at Vance’s feet and submits to every naughty lesson he has for her. Though, admittedly Vance offers Courtney a way out in the beginning and adheres to BDSM rules regarding safe words, he inflicts nearly every humiliation he can think of on her unsuspecting body and mind. Though Courtney often enjoys her encounters with Vance she is conflicted by the things he does to her and struggles with her mixed feelings toward their “relationship”. All comes crashing down when Courtney spills her entire story to her best friend Maggie, a best friend since well before high school and one who immediately recognizes Vance Forster’s name. Suddenly, Courtney is forced to examine every moment she has spent with Vance, his motivations, and why he would not reveal to her just how long he has known her. As Courtney is dealing with her own issues, Vance has come to the startling realization that he loves Courtney and wants to keep her by his side. Thus ensues, a HEA. Are you effing kidding me?

The Bottom Line: As previously mentioned, I have no problem with the writing style, BDSM themed sex, etc. I do however have a problem with a woman who would willingly fall back into the arms of a man who has willfully and with ill-intent sought to humiliate her for a crime she never committed. In fact, Vance admits to wanting to punish and humiliate Courtney so she will understand how he felt all those years ago in high school as a result of her perceived slight. A feeling he suffered because of his own weakness and cowardice, I might add. When the weasel comes to Courtney, apologizes, tells her he loves her and offers to be her sub, she not only forgives him but moves in with him. WTH?? I simply cannot understand how a woman could have so little self-respect as to ignore the fact that this man has watched her for years and spent his time planning to humiliate her because of his own weakness. While I fully appreciate this is Courtney’s choice and one that will make her happy it is also a choice that makes her appear weak, needy, of seriously low self-esteem, and incapable of breaking her ties to a man that is ultimately a sick stalker. For this reason alone, I cannot in good conscious recommend this novella series to any reader of any age.

3.5 stars!
Really cute, hot with just enough romance. I enjoyed the story of Vance and Courtney.

Not bad at all for a free short, but I recommend buying the entire series or you'll be completely irritated.

THE BOSS TAKES CHARGE

Courtney Bell is due for her annual appraisal. To her horror this year it's being conducted by the CEO of Asgard, Vance Forster. Vance makes it clear during the interview, that her performance has been lacking in discipline. He also makes it clear that he wants Courtney sexually. Vance demands that Courtney send him an email by the morning outlining how she needs to please him in the future. That evening after a few glasses of wine Courtney sends Vance an email. When she wakes the next morning she is horrified to see what she sent her boss whilst drunk. Surely she can kiss goodby to her job!

This is a fairly quick read. I liked the characters, although considering Vance was the head of a large prestigious company. His thinking was a bit skewed. What Courtney doesn't realise is that Vance has been planning to have her for years. His reasons when they come to light, are little more than pathetic IMO. That part of the story needed fleshing out more. plus there was too much inner dialogue on the part of both leads. But the sex in this is really hot. It is based on BDSM theme. Overall this is a good read though.

This was a short read of four books, I very much enjoyed.
Courtney was in a job that she thought she would love but since she wouldn't sleep with someone to get ahead, she was stuck. On her way to her annual review she spilled coffee on an extremely attractive man, who turned out to be the CEO of the company Vance. The two of them end up exploring a relationship. Vance is hiding the fact that he knows Courtney from high school where he was nerdy and she was popular. When Courtney tells her friend, Maggie, about her relationship with Vance, Maggie reminds her that they went to school together. Courtney is so upset that Vance has kept this from her, could it destroy what they are building together?

This book starts out with a bang, and keeps on going! The opening of the book, if we where reading about real world, screams Sexual Harrasment in the work place, but most of us don't read to get in touch with the real world, do we?? No, we read to escape reality and this book certainly is a great escape from reality. Full of hot and steamy sex.....you will not be disappointed.

Ok this book turned out to be ok.. it kind of reminded me of fifty shades of Grey EXCEPT I actually liked Christian Grey & of course he was a major panty dropping turn on! With this guy, Vance, he just didn't do it for me. He was more of a turn off in my opinion. By the end of the series he was alright but I still didn't care for him. The story line was alright but nothing great.

This was another book that had a lot of potential, but fell a little short for me. Vance is a sexy CEO who somehow coaxes Courtney into being his submissive. Courtney's acceptance seemed rushed, especially since they are perpetual strangers. Courtney quickly begins to realize that being a submissive is something that was always deeply embedded into her personality and Vance is the only one who can bring that side of her out. She's confused about her feelings about the things she does with him, but those things are what brings them closer. I would have liked to see their relationship develop outside of the bedroom, because all they do is have sex. There is a brief moment where Courtney tells, not shows, how their relationship has progressed, to her best friend, but again it was telling and not showing. The flashbacks and daydreaming also slowed the story down for me. There were points where I was skimming because the passages were repetitive. I was also disappointed with Vance's motivation as well. He claimed that in HIgh School, Courtney never paid any attention to him, so he wanted her to know what it felt like to be under his control, knowing he was one of the losers she ignored in high school. Huh? Maybe if Courtney tortured him in High School, the motivation would have made more sense to me, but he never even spoke a word to her in school. That was just a little confusing for me, but overall, it was just a good read with a slightly above average steam factor.

I have to admit I had not read anything from this author and I was given the Billionaire Erotic Romance Boxed set in exchange for a fair review from another author and I started to read this story in that boxed set and was pleasantly surprised. I loved this story, I have a thing for these billionaire and worker start having sex then it turns into love stories. I enjoyed Vance, I didn't think he did anything different then any other BDSM story I read, he did not humiliate her in front of anyone or say cruel things to her, everything he did she loved and when something got to be too much she said Mercy and he stopped so I am not sure why people are saying that his character was terrible to her. Yes this story started out for him as revenge but like any great romance things changed and he was willing to make it right. Courtney was great, I loved how she gave him all of the control because of how she grew up and she just wanted someone to tell her what to do for a change. I loved their relationship, their chemistry was perfect, and the sex was hot. I enjoyed reading what different assignments he gave her and how he introduced her to the new and different things when they were having sex. The ending was perfect, I could not have asked for anything better, the only thing now that I have to say is when is Harriet going to write more books like this, all of her other stuff is so short and no chance to really invest in the characters. I hope she does more longer stories similar to this series.

2.5 STARS

Not a bad story, but not spectacular.

All 4 parts together are still only the length of a novella.

I think these serial series are just a way for authors to make more money. If the word count is less than 30,000, Amazon and other platforms shouldn't allow authors to charge more than $1. As it's priced right now, if you buy this series separately in four parts, it's almost $10. Which is a lot for a novella. Right now the complete story/series is free on Amazon.

Anyways, the hero was kind of a little bitch. Instead of feeling sorry for himself, he could've just asked her out YEARS ago. A direct approach never even occurred to him, so much for being a brilliant young CEO.

Both the book and sex scenes were well-written. However, as with most novellas, the characters aren't well-rounded and you only get to see the part of their personalities that involve them being in a relationship with the other main character.

It was interesting that the hero was a sadist while also being a Dom. You don't get that very often with BDSM fiction. Usually it's the pampering-type of Dom character. So, props to the author for that.

Now this is the way to read short stories. All 4 parts in the same book.

Very kinky, lots of fun. Hot hot sex scenes, definitely not for those who don't like the idea of dominant and submissive. Vance Forster, he sounds panty dropping hot. Courtney Bell, all American cheer leading pretty. Yeah that's a mix for hot and sexy.

Without spoiling the storyline, not everything is left to chance and not everything is what it seems. Even to those who plan thing to a T. But then the heart can change how we see things and how we feel things when we are actually in the idle of where we planned to be.

I am quite exhausted after reading all of the sex that was in this story. Definitely get you hot and sexy love scenes as we also get a storyline to follow. Not too much thinking is needed as this isn't too mysterious with the twists and turns.

The story is just enjoyable to follow as the 2 main characters find their way to each other and obviously the life style that they were born for. Great read as in 1 book, it would have killed to read in the 4 short stories.

It's time for Courtney's annual review at work. Company CEO Vance has decided to handle the review personally despite her low position in the company. Vance has been waiting for a chance to dominate Courtney for a long time now and the chance has finally arrived.

I think the book started off on the wrong foot for me with the whole workplace sexual harassment setup. Office shenanigans don't usually bother me, but this one did. Even though Courtney is definitely on board with Vance's seduction and domination, I wasn't comfortable with it. When I found out Vance's motivation for a relationship I was a bit disappointed and quit enjoying his character. I did like the author's use of flashbacks and it was definitely scorching hot. If you enjoy a quick read, steamy scenes, and office hanky-panky, you'll probably enjoy this one.

I think this book was overall predictable and a bit too cutesy for the genre.

Courtney meets Vance in the elevator on her way to her performance review. He's a hunk. Strips in the elevator (what is it with these books and elevators?) and she basically submits to him right there in his office.

He's desperate for her. Has been for years. But there's this whole "I'm doing it because I love her/I'm doing it for REVENGE" thing going on that never makes sense. It's like Lovelace needed something to add a plot twist - which ended up being lame and easily resolved.

Overall the stories are short - the whole collection is short. It's a quick, predictable read with not the most spunky or likeable of characters. Everything about the book is pretty average and that about sums it up.

I didn't love it. I didn't hate it.
But I've read it before... it's called Fifty Shades of Grey.
I have no issue with people wanting to base a story they write off of another series. Meaning the sub context. But when something is pretty much the same exact story as something else... well...
If you have NOT read Fifty Shades, then you might like this book. If you HAVE read Fifty Shades, then you've already read this book.
There was nothing really original in this book to separate the 2. Same leading male type. Same innocent, yet sultry female lead. Same bedroom shenanigans.
I would have given this 2.5, but I rounded up to 3.

I received the ARC of the Billionaire Erotic Romance Boxed Set, there are seven stories and I loved this one. Courtney is heading for her yearly review at work and she is not to excited. The previous reviews have been lacking. They seemed to be more interested in what she could do for them and not the company. This year she is headed to the CEO Vance Fisher's office. When in the elevator, the doors open and she moves and bumps into a man, a gorgeous, sexy man. Turns out the sexy man is the CEO. He has a few surprises and a secret. The story flowed well but I would have liked to have more of the wedding. This is a first for me by Harriet Lovelace and looking forward to reading more from her.

*SPOILER*

This has all the elements for a much bigger book and it's a shame the author didn't take it there. Having said that I did enjoy the book and nearly gave it 4 stars, but it skimmed over what I felt was a really important bit, the further discussion between Courtney and Mags after they look at the yearbook. There was a lot of detail when Courtney is telling Mags everything in the car, which for the reader is essentially a recap of what you've already read, that to skim over the discussion after the yearbook just didn't make sense to me.

Another freebie...I would actually give this one a 3.5 star rating. This was a very quick and easy read but it just didn't have much sustenance to it...I felt like I was on a one night stand and knew I wasn't gonna get much out of it except a toss in the hay with someone i don't really know...lol. But how can I complain when it was free? The writing was well done and it flowed real well. Was glad to snatch it up for free cause I think I would have been disappointed if I would have invested my pocket change on this one.

This book is more like 2.5 stars. It was just ok. I didn't really get drawn in to it. The love story was lacking. And I didn't like that the author had these flash back scenes instead of telling the story as it unfolded. It was not that well written. With that being said I still read the whole book even though it wasn't worth the 2.99. I started with the sample and I thought it would get better after that. But it never did. Good news it wasn't a long book so I didn't waste that much time. But u judge read at ur own risk??!?!??.....

William Shakespeare this is not. Hell, it's not even Stephanie Myers quality, but what it lacks in grace it makes up for it in Intensity. That is the only word that come to mind when it comes to this book, It. Is. Intense.

And Descriptive. Which is surprising considering that with even all 4 "books" in one its still under 150 pages.

I didn't connect with Courtney and Vance as much as I would have liked to. While the sex was steamy it just didn't seem to do enough. I don't know if it was b/c mot of them were flashback or not. I thought Vance's reasoning for his secret was a little childish as well.

Not sure what exactly would have made their story better but for what it was it was pretty decent.

Very intense; maybe a little too intense for me. If you like it hardcore, read this book. If you want sweet, don't bother. 18+ only...graphic sex scenes.

With that said, the writing is great. There was an actual plot. I'm just a little too timid for this material. Not a complaint, just a fact.

This is good afternoon read as the whole series. Courtney comes up for her annual review at work, only to be seduced into BDSM by her boss Vance. The story covers their deepening involvement until trust is broken between the two. The characters are a bit stereotypical, as is the plot--but it does have some steamy moments.

What a wicked erotic story! Courtney and Vance are one hot couple. Vance has all the control, and Courtney is the perfect sub for him. I love that the story was more than just kinky sex. Their is real romance between them, and a story that feels natural instead of forced. I will definitely read more from this author.

It's all about the sex (D/s,kink). I am guessing about 80% of this book is sex. They're either having it or thinking about it and describing their thoughts in detail. There is a story line intertwined but it's secondary to the sex. The author does know how to write the topic well. It's a quick read.

I loved this short series, it was hard to put down, carrying you from one thing to the next in rapid procession.

I would have loved it to have been longer and more in depth allowing the reader to bond more with the characters and their history. So only 4/5 stars on this one.

Holy Cow!!A really good book like 50 Shades of Grey. Only this book is much faster paced. It has less of a story line, but has more intense scenes. I couldn't put the book down. It was really easy to read.I hope to find more books comparable to it.

This was a very fun and erotic quick read about a CEO named Vance and his crush on an employee Courtney. They have a bit of history and he feels like he has a score to settle. This all being unbeknown to Courtney, but can she accept what he is willing to give her.
