H & h were in love 4 yrs prior but his friend & partner set him up to make it look as if he was stealing money from the company and he pleaded guilty and went to jail for 4 yrs. Why he pleaded guilty I'm not sure we ever got a reason.

The same partner paid his ex Asst to drug & hire a prostitute to make it look as if he cheated on heroine. This all happened on the night that he was going to propose to heroine and she was going to tell him she was pregnant but instead he gets arrested and she ends up seeing photos of him with OW and thinks he cheated and loses the baby.

Four years later, hero is released an seeking revenge on both his ex business partner & heroine for not supporting him and standing by him.

There's a lot of miscommunication and childish behavior from the MCs (especially heroine) and it plain exhausted me reading it. Honestly, heroine was so unlikable and not very in love with Hero that all I got from this is why it's labeled a romance.

Two starts only for the fact that there was no cheating and MCs were celibate during separation.

I hate to rate a Georgi Le Carre book this low because I love her storytelling style. I also love The Count of Monte Cristo, which this reminded me of. This book fell flat for me, however. I had a huge problem with the heroine. She was childish and petulant. She was impulsive and couldn’t have ever loved the hero to have been so naive to the villain’s manipulations.

How are you not going to check on the love of your life while he’s been locked away for four years? Or give him a chance to see the evidence against him?

Hero should’ve left the immature heroine in the dust!

The two met fell in love with each other swore their love to each other but betrayal drove a wedge between them now fate is going to give them a second chance, but will they accept that chance. Max sexy as all get out CEO just released from prison set up for embezzlement feeling betrayed by everyone, he loved especially his girl at the time and now he out with revenge leading the way. Savannah, a kindhearted soul, and a teacher who no longer believes in love after falling hard for the one she promised her to love just up and disappeared on her birthday never to be heard from again. Fast forward years later and the very man who swore to love her is standing in front of her and both feel nothing but hate or so they tell themselves yet the attraction is still just as intense as it was the day, they met but neither of them will admit it yet but the more they talk they realize the second chance they have been given. Not only that he can not figure out how he was set up and sent to prison for a crime he didn’t commit and revenge no longer weights on him especially towards her but will they figure it out together, will they give one another a second chance, who betrayed them, who set him up, will they get what they deserve, and can they accept the second chance has given them finding happiness along the way?

Wow, just a spectacular story with revenge and hope all built to one spectacular ending!
I feel for Savannah as she is seemingly stood up for the last time by her long time love, Max until Max’s business partner conveniently shows up with a far fetched story about Max. Yet when Savannah is faced with proof of his indiscretion and Max’s arrest and sentencing, it all goes so horribly wrong for Savannah. I love how Max comes out fighting to resurrect his relationship with Savannah without revealing his plans for revenge on his business partner. I love Max’s determination and Savannah’s wavering ability to deny her love for Max. How will it all end? You have to read to find out and will absolutely love the ending!

I've loved books by this author in the past, so I jumped at the chance to read this one. To me it wasn't the same as I didn't feel as pulled into the story as I had before. At one point I felt I might dnf the book. But I carried on. The story was interesting max and savannah were divided by jealousy, hatred and revenge. After four years neither of them had realized that Robert was pulling strings for quite some time. It was an okay read, but others may give it a higher rating.

Max was sent to prison for four years and he's out and wanted revenge on the people who betrayed him starting with his ex-girlfriend Savannah. Max is handsome, broken, and ruthless. He's a CEO who charge for embezzling from his company he's about to rain hell on the people who betrayed. Savannah is beautiful, tender hearted, loving, strong-will, and resilience. She's now a school teacher, she doesn't date and vows never to love again. After Max receives the alumni email from his middle school and they're to raise money for a new computer lab he see this as his moment to exact his revenge against Savannah.
He seeks out Savannah and when the two see each they both hate hate each other in an intensity and wanted revenge. But their attraction for each was just as strong as the first time they met. Their chemistry was magnetic and electrifying. The passion was sizzling and hot. He offered her proposition but she wasn't sure that she wanted to let him get close to her again. They didn't know for a long time that Robert was the one behind curtain pulling the strings. He wanted to prove his Innocence and clear his name but he didn't want her know that working bring Robert down for what he had done to his life. Will Robert it his comeuppance and go to jail? Will these two take a chance and start over? Will they get their HEA?

This is a very similar plot to some famous old school hp I’ve read, on book of Lynne graham was very close. The hero is framed for a crime he didn’t commit, embezzlement, and he goes to jail for five years. The heroine just before he’s framed, finds out evidence of his cheating and never shows up, basically ghosting him.
He comes out of jail with revenge on his mind, and what’s better than sexual blackmail in exchange of money for a good cause, that is, helping someone else?
Of course the heroine refuses at first but then she accepts because her friend, who was also the hero’s ex bff who framed him, asked her to?
Some silly misunderstanding, some pictures of the hero taken after he was drugged and unconscious, a miscarriage and it all should have been solved before the book reached its half, but then for some mysterious reasons the hero and the heroine still didn’t understand that the guy they believed to be a friend was actually their worst enemy, jealous, mean and nasty.
So the thing went on and on after its due date and the book resulted quite weird. I mean, he denied cheating, he cried like a baby when he knew she had a miscarriage, he told her his bff was jealous because he wanted her and yet the heroine didn’t believe him?
I just don’t know.
Ok, in the end all was well but those two need brain cell transplant. Both celibate during separation, well he was in jail actually but to me it was ok.

Georgia Le Carre is usually an author who writes things I quite enjoy, and for which I sometimes have to suspend my critical thinking compulsions. This story is very well-written, as always, and I really enjoyed the characters and understood their motivations; particularly with as hard as the author tried to make them plausible.... but, honestly their motivations fell quite short in reality. I understand the story needed to have impetuous and to move forward in a way that the author intended, but I find it incredibly hard to believe, no matter the circumstances, that if a couple is head over heels in love and have been together for two years or more that they would just NEVER speak to each other again, no matter what external factors were at play--particularly if there had been zero drama or cause of mistrust prior to the events which pulled them apart. Also the timeline of the legal issues in the story are just utterly inexplicable and wrong, so it's hard to get overly invested when those points come up time and time again. However, again, the characters are great, the story is good, the writing is excellent, and I love how everything worked out for everyone, but you have to swallow a lot of improbability to get to the HEA.

If it’s meant to be… it will be

They say ‘two wrongs don’t make a right’ but in the case of Max and Savannah’s turbulent and traumatic experiences, they most certainly do.

This is a tale of betrayal, misplaced trust and corruption underpinned by a love so deep and strong that when the truth is revealed and past wrongs are righted, hope can finally bloom.

Poor Max Blackstone has been the victim of a cruel betrayal. He’s lost four years of his life for putting his faith in a friendship that took everything away from him.

Unwilling to accept that his fate was sealed, he fought back and he fought hard. Not only for the justice he deserved, but also for the heart of the woman who had unknowingly been duped and manipulated.

This story is full of hurt pride, devastating loss and grief whilst showing that true love will always win… as will the truth.

A little reminiscent of ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’ this shows that with determination and patience, everything that was once lost can be found again.

Brilliant story. Full of all the feels and emotions. A real page turner that left my heart feeling full.

Well done again, Georgia. Fantastic stuff.

Just finished this book. Two lovers who have nasty people in their lives. Savanna has loved Max and Max has loved Savanna. Seems that the best friend of Max , Robert,is nothing but a scheming douche. He sets Max up to look like he has been unfaithful to Savanna and that he has stolen money from the business Max and Robert share. Max spends 4 years in jail and Robert tries again and again to make Savanna his. She doesn't trust him and will only see him as a friend. Savanna is a middle school teacher and has spent the 4 years getting more education. We learn in the story that Savanna had a miscarriage during the time Max was being tried and her belief that Max had been unfaithful.
The two meet and over the need for the middle school's need for new computers.
The love and care the MC have for each other has never left and slowly they find their way back to each other. The truth comes out that Robert has done some very shady things in his life and it all catches up with him.
This is the first book I have read from this author.

It was good, just not great

The story was good and the plot was well defined. I really liked Max’s character but had issues with Savanah’s. Ms. Le Carre knows how to spin a tale of deceit.

Savanah’s character was easily played by Robert close to 70% of this book. She never asked Max his side of things initially when it all took place but believed a man she never really liked over the man she was suppose to love. I didn’t buy her excuses nor did I understand why she would consider getting dirt on Max after he was released from prison for Robert.

Her actions said volumes about who she really was until she was told the truth by the prostitute and the secretary. Yes she finally comes around at the end of the book when faced with the truth, but seemed “too little too late”.

Max’s character spent 4 years of his life getting the revenge he so deserved. I just wish Savanah’s character had been more with it instead of being a gullible pawn in Robert’s nefarious criminal activity.

Max and Savannah had been dating for awhile and were in love with each other. Or that’s what Savannah thought, until the night of her birthday when she sat waiting for him at the restaurant and he never showed. And everything unraveled afterwards. It’s been four years, and Savannah has moved on and now is a teacher. Max has just been released from prison and receives an email sent out to all the alumni of his middle school trying to raise money for a new computer lab. He sees his opportunity to start his revenge plan on Savannah for abandoning him. And when they come face to face, she has just as much hate for him as he does her. But things aren’t always what they look like. This is a good story full of betrayal, revenge and forgiveness.

Marvellous

Georgia Le Carre has been absent for a couple of years but she has lost none of her talent for giving her readers a book to totally consume them.
Max has made a name, and fortune, for himself by his early 20s alongside his schoolboy friend, Robert. They both meet the love of their lives on the same night.
Two years later everything changes as Max is jailed for embezzlement.
This is where Georgia really lets her characters take over and the whole book becomes explosive with descriptive scenes that take your breath away.
I reas this in one sitting and I know it is going to become one of my favourite books to go back to when I need to get out of a reading slump.

After a long break, Georgia is back. This story is one of betrayal, revenge, redemption and finally hope for the future. Max and Savannah feature in this story, they are cruelly parted after he’s falsely accused of embezzling funds from a company he runs with his best friend, Robert. He vows to get his revenge when he’s released from prison, he’s determined to make everyone involved pay, and that includes Savannah. Things aren’t always as they appear and, thankfully, he begins to realise that Savannah was duped by Robert. A great story of revenge, forgiveness and love. Wonderful writing.

I have long waited for Le Carre's book, and it does not disappoint. Max and Savannah were a couple very much in love but thanks to Max's partner drove a wedge between them. Both suffered in different ways at his hands and four years later after Max is released from prison, he gets his revenge. This story so much going on from betrayal and revenge to rekindled love that finally finds its happy ending. It is a descriptively well written story along with characters that are inspiring but have you in their corner cheering them on to getting second chances.

Georgia Le Carre did a wonderful job on this story, the plot was strong, it's written well, it's packed with many emotions. Max and Savannah's journey was an emotional rollercoaster. From the moment they met they were drawn to each other, the attraction was intense as well as their chemistry which was off the charts. They had a strong connection but their path was bumpy but it didn't matter what they went through, that connection was there, they're made for each other. I enjoyed Savannah and Max's story, they were great together.
This was a great story, I'd recommend reading it.

Savannah and Max have a history that didn't end well for either party. However, it ended because of outside influences. Now years later Max is out of prison and wants revenge. He thinks Savannah abandoned him and she thinks he ghosted her. They run into each other again and feel nothing but hate for one another. Will they discover what actually happened when their break up took place. Can this be a second chance for them?

This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

This book was spicy, exciting, and a page turner. The characters were complex and had amazing chemistry. The plot of the book was original and angsty. I loved the story line so much.

Savannah was smart, witty and not a doormat. She was loyal to a fault and always went above and beyond what was expected of her. Max was intense, broody, and obsessed with a certain person. He was out to right a few wrongs he was dealt. Both Max and Savannah were explosive on the pages. I loved all their interactions. Some were funny, heartbreaking and heartwarming.

This is an emotional second chance romance between former lovers, Savannah and Max. Though flawed, these likable characters and the unique plot make for an intriguing read. Once they reconnect, their sizzling chemistry and strong connection are undeniable as they navigate the bumpy road to their forever after. It is a love story with drama and steam, revenge and forgiveness, sexual tension and chemistry, and twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. A beautifully written stand-alone storyline, about revenge following punishment which did not fit the crime. The impact on two innocent people, Max and Savannah was almost life changing but love finds a way. Robert’s character is manipulative, smarmy and totally untrustworthy, but hind sight gives you this knowledge. It has drama, intrigue and some incredibly romantic scenes, and goes to show Karma has a way of winning through. Once reading has commenced very difficult to put down as it is so magical, absorbing and a must to finish. All to soon. All the characters are believable and there is a HEA also that like the whole book is glorious

The CEO's Revenge

This story has been sitting in my library for awhile. Max was sent to prison on a lie from his business partner. Savannah was the love of his life.... But things happen with her and she could not come to the trial. He believed she didn't love him and he was out for revenge on his partner and his girlfriend. The story was absolutely fantastic to read, the plot was right up there for this story. The only thing that was wrong with the writing, it was full of mistakes. This author needs to have a proof reader before she releases the story. Other than that it was a awesome idea for a good story. Enjoy

Oh My Word, you feel like you're watching what is happening when reading this book. I wanted to smack a few people upside the head to straighten them out and then punch the bad guy out.

The writer really pulls you in right from the start and keeps you hanging on to every word. I couldn't stop reading it well into the early morning hours. It was that captivating.


It is so worth the read and the Epilogue was PERFECTION!!!.

This is a raw and emotional story. Max is out for revenge and goes after everyone who caused him to be treated like this and to end up in prison. People he trusted and you expected to be there for you. Even Savannah has an opinion about him because he left her in a restaurant years ago when it was her birthday, not knowing exactly what happened. Nothing is what it seems and can they come to terms with what happened years ago and also with him?

Savannah and Max will take you on a wild ride of betrayal, revenge and redemption. Max was framed for embezzling funds from the company he owned with Robert. After four long years, he was released from prison. He's out for revenge for everyone who crossed him, including Savannah. She still harbors resentment from being stood up on her birthday. The book is emotional and drama filled. Well written with some twists and surprises. It's told from a dual POV and has an HEA that you will like. I am So glad she is back!!! I loved the plot! The storyline flowed smoothly throughout. It was well written. The characters were well developed and easily relatable. They’re chemistry was off the charts explosive. Just shows how communication is vital to a relationship; however, we wouldn’t have had the story we had. It’s filled with twist and turns about greed and vengeance. Chemistry and steamy scenes we’ve come to expect from Ms. Le Carre. What more could you ask for?

In a sense this is a second chance at love romance. Max and Savannah were deeply in love and their future was bright, until everything went horribly wrong. Years later Max is back and looking for revenge for what happened to him, and if possible win Savannah's heart again. They must wade through the years of lies, betrayals and secrets and hope they can come out the other side. Their chemistry is still there, but can she trust him with her heart again? Great story!!!! Georgia is back and i loved every moment of this romance full of revenge and suspense.I could not put it down,it was a complete page turner.
I loved Max and Savannah.There were a lot of twists and turns,but their hearts were always with each other.
They both think the other betrayed them.The trust is not there anymore and it will take time to win that back.
Full of tears,heartbreak,betrayal,
steam,romance,suspense and a hard won happily ever after.
Looking forward to Georgia's next book.
