Gather ‘round, love, because I want you. I want what you have, I want what you don’t have, I want more of what I already have. I want. But if you so much as ask for something in return, go ahead and walk away. Know if you want to play in my world, it’s every man for themselves and the weak become mine. Leeches will be obliterated because I make it my job to destroy them. I protect what’s mine and I take what’s yours…because that’s what I do. I want.

My story will not endear me to you and, frankly, I could care less if it does because I’m in this for the money and nothing else. There’s nothing redeeming about me. I’m a corrupt, money hungry, immoral asshole from Los Angeles. I’m every man’s worst nightmare and every girl’s fantasy.

I’m Spencer Blackwell…And this is the story about how I went from the world’s most coveted guy to the guy no one wanted around and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

Fisher Amelie

Fisher Amelie resides in the South with her kick ace husband slash soul mate. She earned her first 'mama' patch in 2009. She also lives with her Weim, 'Jonah', and her Beta, 'Whale'. All these living creatures keep the belly of her life full, sometimes to the point of gluttony, but she doesn't mind all that much because life isn't worth living if it isn't entertaining, right?

Fisher grew up writing. She secretly hid notebooks and notebooks of dribble in a large Tupperware storage container in her closet as a kid. She didn't put two and two together until after college where it suddenly dawned on her, "Hey, I like writing". She's a bit dense. "No, I'm not." "Yes, you are. Put down that Oreo, your butt can't take any more." "You're rude." "Yeah, yeah." Anyway, she likes to write and has finally beaten her self-esteem into submission enough to allow herself to be scrutinized under the 'other readers' microscope. "No! No! Not a cover slip! Last time it gave me a ra...." (mumbling)

10 FUN FACTS ABOUT FISHER AMELIE HERE

6 Greedy Stars
(Spoiler Free)

If I could give Greed a million stars, I would. If you asked me what a top favorite book of mine is, I would say Greed. If someone asked me if I had any issues with this book, I would say none. Do I love the Hero? Yes. Do I love the Cover? Yes. Do I love the story? Yes. Do I love the author? Yes.

You get the point.

I loved Greed and you will too. Cocky I know, but it’s the truth.

You will have to read Vain prior to reading Greed, even though Greed is about another character, Spencer, but because a lot of his character is developed in book one, you don’t want to miss out on it. With that said, I loved Vain, so in going to Greed, I had high expectations.

Little did I know, Fisher would meet my expectations and come around and meet it again. I enjoyed reading Greed so much I had to read it slowly because I didn’t want the story to end.

The theme is “Greed” and the main character is Spencer. Not only is Spencer’s family is rich, so is he. He makes his money by working as his father’s lackey, doing side jobs. Spencer doesn’t always agree with the choices he makes, but Spencer does what needs to be done because in the end, it’s about the money.

Then there’s Cricket, the girl who is opposite of every type of girl Spencer is use to and knows. She’s kind, humble and makes five thousand a year, helping her family. The same amount Spencer spends on his outfit. Cricket may be the one to change Spencer for the better or may be the one that breaks him for the worse.

I don’t want to give anything away in the summary. You just need to know Spencer is an arse and Cricket isn’t.

If I had to pick a book boyfriend, who I would absolutely give my heart to, it would be Spencer.

He has all the qualities I look for in a book boyfriend. He’s flawed, troubled, passionate, determine, sweet, aggressive and perfect for me. I loved Cricket too and no, she wasn’t perfect, but I found her issues endearing and reasonable. She also isn’t your typical heroine, which was completely refreshing to me.

What worked so well for me is the story. That’s the simple truth. Fisher created me a fairy tale romance and I was completely consumed. I was drowning in the beautiful playful banter between Spencer and Cricket. I was laughing to delight with side characters and extra story line. I was shocked, appalled and hooked at the dramatic moments. I loved it all.

I’m always cautious when writing a raving review because people’s expectations are high. Just know what type of books I like and if you loved Vain, you will love Greed.

Fisher created a story that consumed me, a unique Heroine I was fascinated by and flawed Hero that I loved. Anyone that can do that deserves a spot as a top favorite author. Which, she does.

2--What the Duck Happened to Spencer--Stars!!!

Let me start by saying that I LOVED Vain, LOVED it. Went right on my favorites shelf. I LOVED Spencer in Vain--but this wasn't the same Spencer. Needless to say I am a Fisher Amelie fan...BUT this one DID.NOT.WORK.FOR.ME.

Maybe

But

90% of the book

It was cow after cow, birthing, cleaning, shoveling shit....

I'm

This was one big fat cheeseburger casserole with some extra Cheez Whiz on top just for good measure. I mean damn!!!

"I suffer for you," she barely got out. "I want to be near you always. I'm falling in love with you and it's -it's a sweet agony, however, it's still an agony."

"I've never met anyone as astounding as you. You're so fair it almost hurts if I stare too long. But-but I can't help it. If you're near, I have to watch every single movement, memorize every step, every gesture."

"You're this bright, clean, exquisite light. Just being near you is a balm to my dejected heart."

"And Jonah's a gentle soul. He's not going to rip and grasp at your sister like these other boys would. He'll tenderly cup his hands and just wait for her to pour herself inside. He's a patient guy."

"If you took everything I'd ever found hot, beautiful in a girl and piled them into a corner, you'd get Cricket Hunt...standing in a corner."

"You dazzle me."

Spencer....WTF?!?!?

Spencer's Dad:

The Piper "dreams":

Savannah:

I knew there was going to be some big reveal....with Cricket....Ethan....something. I got so lost in all of the cow shit I thought for sure Ethan was killing the cows...and that was the big secret.

Too much cow shit. Not enough story. Didn't get the Greed connection. Cheesy dialogue. Insta-love.

2 I-DIDN’T-MIND-THE-COWS STARS

DISCLAIMER: This review has nothing to do with the cows nor were cows harmed during this review.

This is what bothered me:

1. Spencer.

More Grit. Less Fluff. He was such a badass in Vain. He fell in love too fast. I just didn’t believe it. I usually don’t mind insta-love, but I thought it was a little too “insta.” I was also hoping for more snarky dialogue from Spencer. He was way too sweet.

I even tried to adjust my pre-existing view of him from Vain, but there was still a disconnect. Even after I removed my Vain-colored glasses of Spencer, I found myself rolling my eyes.

Cricket’s character was ok. She was a little confusing to me as well.

2. Piper = Greed

This is not a spoiler. Do you know why?? Because it was too painfully obvious. Piper is that little voice in Spencer’s head to tempt him with Greed. It wasn’t believable. I didn’t even feel Spencer’s actual Greed very much unless Piper was talking to him in his dreams. Eh.

3. God?

What was with the spiritual stuff??? Don’t get me wrong…I don’t mind reading a book with a spiritual aspect, but it just didn’t blend with the story and the characters. It just wasn’t in their character. There was something wrong with the execution.

There’s a theme I see emerging, something this book has in common with Vain…The sinner must remove himself from the sin, outside of their comfort zone, even if it’s temporary, to break free from it permanently. In both books, the sinner left his/her home and were put into an uncomfortable setting. I hope the next book has a different set-up.

I really love Fisher Amelie, truly. I will still read the next book in this series.

I didn’t mind the cows at all. In fact, I kinda liked them.

TEAM COWS!!!!

Putting this on hold to possibly finish at a later date. I'll refrain from rating, but will briefly explain my reasoning:

I loved Vain like a psycho. But Greed is not what I expected. The synopsis captivated me; it's one of the most powerful blurbs I've ever read. Spencer is portrayed in a certain light that I didn't feel was delivered. If his greed consumes him, I want to feel that down to my bones — and I never did. He immediately displayed so much regret during his actions that his character description felt contradictory. Yes, I love a hero who redeems himself, but if his actions are said to be cold and calculating, I need to believe that first. His 'bad side' was never convincing, which made his bold reputation seem more like a false accusation.

I don't need any certain type of hero -- I just want to be convinced, and unfortunately, I wasn't.

I feel bad comparing this so heavily to Vain, but this is part of the same series and I couldn't help anticipating that it would blow me away just as much. I still have hope for the future installations, and I hope readers will enjoy this one more than I have!

Greed is the second book in the Seven Deadly series. Each book in the series focuses on one sin: Vain, Greed, Fury, Lust, Idle, Binge, and Envy and with them Fisher Amelie has created unique stories that stand out with wonderful messages and beautiful journeys.

From the beginning of Greed, we are faced with the extreme lengths to which Spencer Blackwell is willing to go for money, greed, and personal gain as he carries out the dirty work behind his father's business. The interesting twist though is that he isn't proud of it, in fact it makes him sick to his stomach but while he is ashamed of his actions, unfortunately his greed outweighs his conscience regardless of the price he pays in guilt.

"Despite the fact that I knew it was wrong, I was going to keep the money because the idea of letting it go was more painful to me than the sin I'd committed...The greed was more powerful than the will to do right. "

Sick of his life and of the things he's done but able to stop and unable to leave, Spencer is trapped in an unending cycle of sin yet surrounded by every privilege a person could dream of.

"Have you ever felt free?" she asked.
"Never," I answered truthfully… "I live in a cage."

But when an unexpected turn of events takes place threatening his sister, he leaves everything behind and they ends up working on a cattle ranch in Montana where he discovers a whole new side of life. Having just given up everything in his life to help someone else, and having his whole world uprooted, the last thing he expected to find there was a girl he couldn't get off his mind... and one who was also very, very taken.

"I couldn't understand why I felt such an omnipotent and inexplicable need to take her with me everywhere i went for the rest of my life, even though I didn't love her… yet."

Having the girl he was falling for be in a relationship with someone else brought an interesting twist to the story. It wasn't fully a love triangle though because Ethan, the guy she was with, wasn't a huge part of the story but also more just a forbidden romance with something mysterious holding her back from leaving Ethan to be with Spencer. It kept me guessing as to why and tore a little at my heart because I could just feel how right she and Spencer were for each other.

"Please," I begged her… "Tell me it's okay to kiss you… Jump with me."

I loved Spencer. He may not have been a saint but he had a good heart. Misguided perhaps in his childhood especially given the poor role models he was given, but he still was a good guy and when put to the test, that side of him shone through. And the more and more he was distanced from the shadow of his father, the more the real him began to emerge.

I loved that, just like with Vain, I didn't know exactly where this story was going. It was so different than the norm that I genuinely had no idea what to expect from it and just say back and enjoyed the ride.

Greed reads as a complete standalone novel and while you do not have to read the first book beforehand, I do still recommend it because it's just such a powerful story that it would be a shame to miss out on it.

This is definitely one of my most favorite YA series. I think there's a little something in each of these stories that'll speak to everyone. The emotional connection is strong and the characters draw you into their journey. Fisher Amelie has once again written a beautiful, romantic story with a wonderful message.

If you loved Vain, you will definitely love Greed too!

"I want all of you. I want to be able to taste your lips whenever I feel like it, feel your skin, wrap my arms around your waist. I want to be with you utterly, and I won't take anything else but your entirety."

2.5 stars :\

For those who miss Sophie & Ian as much as I do, here's a teaser:
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...

The one fallback of Fisher Amelies' Seven Deadly Sins series is that her synopses are never really enough to tell you what this story is ACTUALLY about. Whereas Sophie Price is vain, Spenser Blackwell is greed. You might remember him as one of Sophie's only true friends from back home, who was a bit like the male version of Sophie. Spenser constantly lives in fear of becoming his dad, who is greedy beyond belief, even with all the wealth and power he has in the world. And yet he fears this while day by day, he becomes just like him, doing his father's bidding and side jobs with the idea that he can save up enough money to one day escape. But the problem with greed is that there's no such thing as enough. There's always the prospect of more.

That is, until Spenser's sister runs into trouble and to get her away from their family and protect what she wants, Spenser finally breaks them both free of that lifestyle and moves them to a ranch in Montana where his college roommate from Brown is from. There, both of them face a completely different life experience, and there, Spenser meets Cricket. Two problems though: Cricket is very taken by her childhood sweetheart, Ethan Moonsong, and Spenser is still struggling with the little demon on his shoulder named Piper.

Unfortunately this book just wasn't what I hoped it would be. :\ Perhaps VAIN left some pretty big shoes to fill but I didn't end up loving GREED in the way that I absolutely LOVED VAIN, and here's, unfortunately, the reason why: Spenser.

Oh, there's nothing wrong with Spenser, per say, (other than the fact that he's greed, of course), but I think the fact that the entire book was from his point of view and it was written in a pretty feminine/non-masculine way just set me up for disappointment. This might be a personal preference thing, but I really really like and almost need my male characters to be strong, dominant, alpha male, or at least leaning towards that side of the spectrum. Some authors are able to pull this off really well, being able to not only write a character as such, but to write that character from the GUY's perspective. Sadly this book fell quite a bit short of that. Even if normally, Spenser probably did exude some more masculine tendencies, reading his thoughts and emotions honestly felt like I was looking into a girl's mind it and just felt... disappointing.

The story itself was just okay too. It read like a pretty standard story where someone from the city life comes and experiences a completely different life and perspective on a farm. I didn't fall for Cricket too much either. There didn't seem to be that much special about her, and it was extremely frustrating that she continued to stay with Ethan despite her obvious attraction towards Spenser. That said, I understand where she was coming from, since to her, Spenser is this elusive rich guy from the city who will one day eventually leave. Definitely not the guy you'd feel comfortable leaving your security blanket for, especially when he too isn't entirely convinced that he'll stay. But at the same time, I guess the whole cheating plot is different read from the perspective of the "other" guy who she should be with but isn't.

The other thing that may have made this story for some people but didn't for me was Cricket's secret. I'm not going to sit here and say I expected it or predicted it, but it honestly didn't change the story at all for me and so in that respect, didn't feel like it made much of a difference when I know in my mind it should have.

I was super super excited for this book when I found out that Fisher Amelie would be coming out with a sequel to VAIN but unfortunately I was left a bit disappointed. I'll still stick around for the others to see what else might be in store for us.

description

I loved Vain and this author’s writing. For several reasons, this book didn’t hold my attention and when you start skimming at 50 percent it’s time to re-evaluate.

Just one too many cow scenes…
description

I also found Spencer’s dialogue and thoughts were down right cheesy.

"If you took everything I'd ever found hot, beautiful in a girl and piled them into a corner, you'd get Cricket Hunt...standing in a corner."

description

"You dazzle me, I told her."

The ranch, Pop Pop and Ellie, city boy (green horn) changed by the outdoors and “SAVE THE FARM” scenario just didn’t hold my interest.

”We’re relying heavily on this being an excellent year for us. We’re depending on it.”

Somewhere in the cow herding, the chaps, the exquisite girl was Bridge. Bridge is Spencer’s sister and for me the story should have been centered on her. I found her very appealing and interesting and Jonah was a hottie.

I'm guessing old dog dies and Spencer and Cricket have a big hea.

If there is more to the story then shame on me. Too many books, too little time.

Spencer knows money. Is what he does best and what we wants more. Money is his life and he knows nothing more than being a rich, greedy bastard.
But eventually that greed leaves in a bad place with himself.

description

Enters Cricket. A good sweet girl that will show Spencer that there’s more to life than money.
That they are more important values and more important things in life than money. That life can be measured in moments and feelings… and not only in material things.
And when Cricket enters in his life… she will change it in a way that all the money in the world couldn’t do it.

description

Although this was a pretty good book, it wasn't as good as the first one for me. Spencer (even being a damn good book-boyfriend candidate.) was a little too cheesy and Cricket a little too good.
And the main downward factor: SO MANY COWS!! Cows are cute, yes? Cows are sweet animals with pretty and cute muzzles (is that the word?). But there’s a limit for the number of cows that can fit into a book. This book show us that limit and much, much more.
Other than that, this installment was a good continuation on a extremely good series and you should do well and read it! ;)

I read a little bit more than 35%, but the last 15% doesn’t count, because I was skipping pages as well as was being totally out of this story.

This terrible pain in my chest is agonizing. I’m heartbroken. I wanted to love Greed so much. I was anticipating it, cherishing the thought of it, preparing myslef to be blown away by the utter honesty of Amelie Fisher and her incredible storytelling. Unfortunately it didn’t happen. Greed didn’t mesmerize me, captivate me or take me on a pleasurable ride to La, La, Land. Nope. Not at all. Actually, I felt like I was swallowing nails. It was horrible.

I loved Vain . It was unique, beautiful and wonderful read. Greed was nothing like this. Spencer was very cheesy character, that not only appalled me with his foolishness and greedy mind, but also wasn’t very interesting hero. He was just boring. There wasn’t a single thing that would make me like him or contect with him.

Cricket was even worse. I don’t remember reading a book with more ‘plain Jane’ heroine. She was too good, too perfect, too boring. She wasn’t unique or different in some way.

I didn’t feel chemistry between them. Nope, there was zero emotions or this fuzzy, dizzy warm feelings. Nothing!! I think I liked cows more than them. And that clearly shows that something is definitely wrong with this book or me.

I also was ‘meh’ toward the all ranch idea. Not my cup of tea. And the fact that cows had a more important spot in Greed than Spencer and Cricket was, well, weird? How many scenes with cows there could be? Clearly, more than a few. Well, they should change the horses on the cover to cows.

No, no, what a left down! My heart cannot take this disappointment. It’s gut - wrenching, mind - shattering, soul- crashing, heart – breaking disappointment.

greed2

Let me first off say, I loved Vain and Spencer's character in the first book so I was looking forward to reading Greed. So, I was very disappointed in the book. This book was titled Greed but I really didn't feel Spencer was truly consumed with greed. Yes, he was remorseful for his actions but I wasn't truly sold on the idea that he was greedy. I wanted to see more of Spencer's bad side where we could see the gradual transformation and redemption of his sins. As for his relationship with Cricket, I wasn't a fan. There were moments I felt he was border lining on cheesy with his flirtations with her.

(example: "I've never met anyone as astounding as you. You're so fair it almost hurts if I stare too long. But-but I can't help it. If you're near, I have to watch every single movement, memorize every step, every gesture.")

I felt he fell insta-love with Cricket too fast. Yes, I know there are books where the main characters had this instant attraction and connection but in Greed, I couldn't feel it. It felt like their insta-love was forced and I didn't get a better grasp of how strong their connection to one another. It was more like they were birthing cows then BAM they fell in love.
greed1

As for Cricket, I didn't like her at all. Personally, I thought she was selfish and treated Ethan so poorly. For 15 years, she strung him along and couldn't be completely honest to him. I really felt bad for him so she really annoyed me. I think I could have been content with her ending up with no one. So I'm glad Ethan Moonsong is going to be the next subject in Fury. He has every right to be furious for what Cricket did to him and I don't blame him at all. So I look forward to reading Fury.

As for Spencer's dreams of Piper, I didn't like it at all. It just felt so random and it was kind of annoying.

Okay, I know Greed takes places in a cattle ranch but I felt the book had more scenes focused on the cows giving birth, cleaning up manure and blah blah. I thought this book was about Greed...the only greedy one was Spencer's dad. I felt maybe the book should have focused more on Spencer and his dad's relationship instead of trying to incorporate a love story between Spencer and Cricket.

5 Click Stars

I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.

This is the second in The Seven Deadly Sins series. You do not have to read the first one to enjoy this book. But you want to. You really, really want to.

Click The sound of a camera, a cocking gun, something falling into place just right. Yep. Click can be so many things. And Fisher Amelie clicks with Greed. The love is obvious. The love Spencer has for his sister. The love that grows between the characters. The growth of the characters. My love for this book. Yep...it just clicks.

Spencer is a college freshmen who has been manipulated by his father for years. Spencer has been raised in a priviledged environment. His father makes him pay for the priviledge. And pay. And pay. Spencer has to to do father's dirty work. And it is dirty work. Spencer finds that he must take his little sister, Bridge and escape from his father's evil.

Cricket is a hand on her grandparents ranch. The ranch that Spencer takes refuge at to protect his sister. As Spencer learns the meaning of hard work, earning your keep and taking care of those around you...he also learns that his previous life, his previous mind set is not the "real life" he wants.

I used to keep this obnoxious list of criteria for the girls I dated...Cricket had obliterated it, just annihilated my previous criteria....Cricket was my new criteria.

Can Cricket and Spencer make it work? Will Spencer give up his LA life for life on the farm? Is that even an option? If his father finds them, it will not be just Spencer that suffers. And Cricket...she has her own secrets. Her own past and future to protect.

I'm going to tell you something, but this can only be said once...I suffer for you. I want to be newar you always. I'm falling in love with you and it's-it's a sweet agony, however, it is still an agony.

This is a great YA read. I would recommend this to even young teens with no hesitation. The charcters are so real. So layered. So wanting to do the right thing, but often torn between what they want to do and the right thing to do. I love how the characters evolve. There is so much to love. So much that just CLICKS.

I really liked this book up until about the last 15% and then it just felt rushed. I remember thinking the same thing about Vain but it wasn't enough to affect my rating; it was with this one.

I like to sometimes go into books blind so I won't read the blurb. However since the blurb from Vain gave very little of the book away, I decided I'd read the blurb for this one too. Well, it had me nervous. It didn't sound anything like the Spencer we met in Vain, who for the most part was the good guy. Maybe good guy is a stretch, but he was the least jaded of all his friends. Much to my relief we get the same Spencer along with his sister Bridget and a whole host of warm lovable characters who at the end of the day are just good people.

I'm now seeing these books are going to be about life lessons with a romance to boot. It's a nice break from the usual and we can all use life lessons. I'm just thankful it doesn't feel like an after school special. All I can say is bring on Ethan's story! I'm looking forward to getting to know him since we really didn't get to see a whole lot of what he's like in this one.

It's so hard to write a review when you neither loved nor hated the book. Greed was just an okay read to me. It had it's great moments, but it also had it's boring moments. It had some great characters, but as well as that it had some bloody awful characters. Unfortunately, those not so great ones were the main characters.
"The running mantra is "I want, I want, I want" but that quickly turns to "I need, I need, I need."

I do not know what has happened to Spencer in between Vain and Greed, but he is not the same character we all got to know a little there. This Spencer.. he.. he kind of made me cringe. A lot. In the beginning I kind of liked him, who doesn't like the asshole type of book boyfriend? I know there aren't many of us. And that's what he was.. he did what he had to to get himself what he wanted, whether that be money, power or ladies. He had to have it. But before long, Spencer and his sister, Bridget, have moved to live on a ranch with nothing around and he is just a BORE.

On the ranch, there's a chick.. oh no, not just any chick. She is like a freaking goddess in Spencer's eyes. Which was confusing in itself because on one hand he is explaining how she is oh so wonderful, but on the other he's almost calling her plain.. nothing like he normally goes for. He confused me. Anyway, I thought I'd try and give him the benefit of the doubt, he's just met this goddess and he's kind of obsessed. The poor guys not been in love like this before, it's new to him, maybe that can excuse some of his god awful cheesy behaviour. But apparently that was not to be the case.. he just did not stop this craziness. It was too much for me sometimes.
"Whether they're aware of it or not, if their heart beats your name, answer the call."

Bummer, I know, but Cricket was a freaking bore to me as well. I just didn't feel like there was anything to her.. no depth, nothing. She was just a simple girl, who apparently had some kind of special power around her because Spencer was just captivated by her. I didn't get it, and I really didn't start to believe in their relationship until late on in the book. I don't really think it's a spoiler for me to say, but Cricket actually has a boyfriend in the start of the book and when I discovered this, I admit to rolling my eyes a little. I wasn't in the mood for a love triangle, and that's exactly what this turned out to be. For a love triangle I think you either have to have the original couple splitting early on, or you need to go all out and have cheating and the likes. This was neither. One minute Cricket was with her boyfriend and happier than ever, the next, when the split eventually came, it was over at the click of a finger. I think Fisher was too easy on her.

I realise I've bitched quite a bit about this book, and I sound as if I didn't enjoy any of it, but that's not the case. I did enjoy a large chunk of it, it just happened to be the bits that weren't about the main characters. I enjoyed the side story of Spencer's sister, Bridget, and why she went away to the ranch with him. I wish this had been her story because I just know I would have been so much more interested. I even enjoyed the couple that was Cricket's grandparents. I'm not saying I'd want to read a book about them (please, no old people book), but their story was interesting, and their parts in the book were enjoyable for me to read. I simply didn't click with Spencer and Cricket, so having the whole book their story, I guess it was, at times, a little too sickly sweet for me. I needed more angst.

description

The next book, Fury, is actually about Ethan, Cricket's ex, and I will be excited to get to that one, as long as the whole book doesn't have him on the ranch again. Whilst I enjoy descriptions, I like to really feel as if I am there.. this got too much at times. I didn't need to always know about the cows, the horses, or the freaking hay bales. It had me losing interest.. rapidly. So, yes, I was a little disappointed in this book, especially after how much I loved Vain, but I'm certainly not giving up on the series. Maybe the next one will be right back on track again..

The Greed was more powerful than the will to do right.

Spencer Blackwell is unable to escape his father, who is a greedy monster that tries to run his life. He’s made Spencer into his own personal lackey, doing his dirty work by manipulating and blackmailing clients who don’t play well with his father. His father also bullies and manipulates his family and if they don’t abide by his rules, they pay. And Spencer has been paying for years just by being his son. Spencer has formed this mentality of want and need. He feels like he needs to do these bad things for his father for the money that secures him and helps maintain his lifestyle. Spencer finally reaches his breaking point when his father threatens his sister Bridget, trying to force her into giving up something that would emotionally crush her.

With his saved money, he goes to great lengths to protect Bridget. This is how they end up on the Hunt ranch in Bitterroot, Montana, living in a small trailer and working on a farm to earn their keep. And it's where Spencer meets Cricket Hunt. Cricket lives there with her grandparents and also helps run the ranch. This smart and strong young woman with a big spirit and even bigger heart loves her family and the ranch. Yet she dreams of traveling and doing bigger things with her art someday. But Cricket has a painful secret that keeps her from living her dreams. She feels indebted to her family to stay on at the ranch.

From the moment Cricket and Spencer meet each other, an instant attraction is formed. As Spencer gets to know Cricket, he sees just how beautiful she is not only on the outside but she truly shines from within. Spencer finds her to be a unique, remarkable, and refreshing young woman who is completely different from the superficial women he usually goes for.

“She was beautiful beyond belief, but she wasn’t some object to conquer, she was someone to be cherished, someone to be loved, someone to be revered.”

The potent chemistry between Spencer and Cricket continues to simmer just below the surface as they work side by side every day. Spencer has never wanted anything, anyone more in his life until he met Cricket. She annihilates him. But he can't have her, because, well… Cricket has a boyfriend named Ethan. They've known each other all their lives and have been dating since childhood. While Cricket admits she wants Spencer and finds it difficult to stay away from him every day, she continues to be with Ethan. The reason for her loyalty to her family and Ethan is part of the secret she keeps hidden. Spencer is frustrated and hurt and, for the first time in his life, unable to buy what he truly wants.

Even though Spencer and Cricket come from very different backgrounds, they are kindred spirits. I love the way Spencer and Cricket ebbed and flowed like two people who had been together all their life. They got each other. They clicked. And, every day they spend together, their feelings for each other become a pressing weight on their hearts. I was honestly on the edge of my seat the entire time, wondering how and when Cricket and Spencer would get their happy ending.

Spencer is the narrator in this story and I was compelled seeing things from his perspective. Though I did wish for Cricket’s POV many times as the story progressed. I wasn’t a fan of her having a boyfriend first of all. And secondly, not knowing what was going on inside of her head as she battles to choose between Ethan and Spencer made me frustrated. I wanted to feel more of her emotional turmoil. I wanted to understand her better and know what troubled her. But I do love this quote by Cricket. It helped some.

“I suffer for you,” she barely got out. “I want to be near you always. I’m falling in love with you and it’s – it’s a sweet agony, however, it’s still an agony."

Despite my issue, I did like this story. Fisher Amelie is a very talented writer. She writes deeply layered and flawed characters that tug on your heart strings. Spencer grows and changes from the man who desired money and materials, to a man worthy enough to be a true hero. He makes internal changes that are thoughtful, mature, and humbling. He realizes money is not everything. I fell hard for Spencer.

The secondary characters were written really well. I loved the side love story between Bridget and Jonah Hunt. The Hunt family is a caring and loving bunch who opened their arms to strangers and protected them in their time of need. They changed Spencer and Bridget’s lives for the better. They gave them hope and family ties. They are the definition of good people.

Overall, Greed is a wonderful new adult love story that takes us on a journey filled with love, laughter, forgiveness, growth, acceptance, and finally a HEA. I really like this author’s voice and am looking forward to the third book in this series, Fury.

I like this author. Her writing isn't perfect, but I enjoy her stories and they way they are told. I don't even mind that they are a bit too sweet. And remember, my feelings are basically that of a dead person.

This story probably got me even more because it touches on adolescent and early adult illness. My best friend died when we were 21 from an illness that should have been treatable, that was diagnosed early, but that they universe ensured that we lost her anyways. Pretty deep for a Wednesday morning? I do apologise. I'm jet lagged as fuck. The point I'm trying to make is that illness in young people is often so much more profoundly painful to watch, if only for the fact that they are young.

This book goes to those places, and for a brief moment I did feel things. I know, I know, I'm surprised as you.

I will not however, be okay with characters that actively chase other characters who are in a relationship. That shit is just not okay. In fact, I just took a star off because I remembered that annoyed me.

SERIOUSLY?!

I'm boarding this train but for the rest? O.o

I'm not sure people will gravitate towards a book entitled GLUTTONY.

Or SLOTH for that matter (though that would be interesting to see, I admit)

Im not 100% sure about this. I got sucked in by the cover, that is a fact, lol! I really liked Vain and was quite a fan of Spencer in that book. That being said, I think maybe too much was happening to wrap my head around.

Spencer returns home from college on break, and you get a real glimpse into his dysfunctional family. His relationship with his father is more like a blackmail/user fest than any sign of paternal connection. Spencer's dad is a complete ass, getting his monetary gain from others faults...using Spencer as the primary enforcer. When Spencer's sister, Bridget, finds herself at odds with her father, Spencer stands up to his father and goes on the run with his secret stash money and his sister.

Ok, here lies the craziness that begins to occur once Spencer and Bridget end up on a ranch in Montana. These two ridiculously rich, spoiled ivy league kids gidde' up and go to work. No bitching, no struggling. The ranch family is nice, sefless and over the top supportive. Enter Cricket...hot young granddaughter and immediate love at first sight for Spencer. Thus the story follows days on the ranch, cow birthing, manual labor, and the occaisonal small town get together.

Basically it is a push pull love story...we are attracted but shouldnt be together/ i want you but cant have you...kinda repetitious. The strange thing here is the re-occurrence of "Piper"...some crazy girl all up in Spencer's head reminding him of his real life. I have no idea who this is...was it a real person at one time? is it Spencer's alter ego/guilty conscience. I just didnt get it. Plus, Spencer is a ridiculously nice guy...no real bad to him.

I found myself skimming a bit...then I got really interested at 80%. This was the point were i can say i liked the story...some drama, some love, some omg moments, and then a conclusion. I dont know what the hell happened anytime before that...just weird and disconnected.

I thought this book started off alright but as soon as Spencer arrived at the ranch and met Cricket, my interest dipped. I feel like I've read some better ranch type books and by halfway I just wasn't convinced of the main couple's connection with each other. The last straw was when I had to read another 'click' *confused face*

Sooo cute and emotional, i actually cried..
Spencer.. swoonsss.. i love him .. cute adorable sweet spencer..

OMGGGG .. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

A clean read guys.. :) it was cleaner than vain, i skipped more in vain.. i think this can go as a mature YA, but since spencer is 22 years old, then it would be categorized as NA.

SPOILERS, SPOILERS.. SPOILERS EVERYWHERE !!

Soo.. this book is good
The romance is so sweet, Fisher Amelie is Brilliant..

Sooo about the book.. it was beautifully written, funny and entertaining, i found myself listening to a man, not a boy, with some sort of healthy thinking, that centers about many other things rather than his love life, it held meanings and some good advices in life..

Spencer, where his sin was Greed, he seemed like a very nice guy, so intelligent in the way he thinks and acts, he has boundaries, he is respect full and has some really good conscience, the thing that made me not feel that there actually happened a real change in him, he changed but not like how Sophie changed like 180 degrees, cz he was from the start a guy that detests his father and what he does, however he helps his father, he just persuades him self that he is only collecting the money to get away from his father, so he does the blackmailing jobs, and feels sick afterwards.. so he loves the money, he hates losing it, but i think that the word GREED is alot for him, especially that he is a sweet person, respectful, thoughtless and selfish, plus i think he only needed to get away from his father..

Spencer also loves his sister so much, he is so protective and they have a very sweet relationship.

"As soon as I entered the kitchen, my seventeen-year-old sister, Bridget, or Bridge as i call her, squealed, jumping off her stool and threw her arms around my neck. Her eyes burned with moisture when she pulled away to look at me.
"My Bridge," I told her, squeezing her cheeks together, puckering her lips.
"My Spence," she garbled through goldfish lips.
I released my grip, kissed her cheek, then hugged her. "i missed you, Bridge.

HOW CUTE IS THATT!!!!!!!!

so from what i got, i think that fisher should have stressed more on his greed trait, however the piper thing being his demons that provoke his sins, his money love, and being scared of losing it.. that was a good idea, plus i hate piper.

Cricket is so cute and tiny, and the attraction and love was so apparent between the two, but the thing is, cricket is in a relationship, which apparently she was in to repay a favor, cz she though she has too, since and as we know later that she has kidney failure, where ethan her boyfriend was going to donate a kidney for her.. she then declined it, since she doesn't love him like a lover rather than just family.. after that they break up.

There is this scene after spencer finds out about her kidney failure, and he was still waiting for the tests' results to see if he can donate his kidney |(soo cuteee *.*), where she was in the hospital and her heart stopped, the doctors entered to make resuscitation, and it wasn't working, Spencer started crying really, and he remembered what she told him about dying that it is going back to ur God, and not a punishment, so he started praying that he accepts what God wants, but he loves her and wants to make a family with her, so plz just keep her, and then her heart worked again.. i loved this religious undertone, especially that i think it goes with all religions.

The scene after he entered the operation room, and then he said they sedated him until the funeral day, i was in shock, i was so hurt, i couldn't believe it, i just didn't want it..
and when they were lowering the casket and he started yelling that she isn't there, they can't do that bcz cricket isn't there, he just couldn't accept it.. i literally cried, i was crying my heart out for this scenes..

it was 2 am by the way..

but after that it turns out to be a dream, where piper appeared, and he pushed her from his thoughts rejecting her until he buried her, and by that he buried his greed and sins, he then wakes up, everthing is ok, cricket is fine, spencer leaves to keep her safe, he goes to continue college, gets a job, then he finds cricket waiting for him, they confess their love and they get married after 2 years :D

i love them both..

why 4 stars:

-Spencer changed but it wasn't 180 degrees like Sophie, but still the book was heartwarming, and he seems to let go of his money love, since he gives it away..

-It was a little frustrating and bored me a little, not much, just a tad bit, since it was bit monotonous, he just works in the ranch, which is something that was also questionable, since he was prepared to work and accepted the thing fast.. maybe cricket was the cause of that ;P

-One more thing, is how things got resolved since at the end it seems like his father gave up from sabotaging his life, even his mother got a divorce.

THE END!!

I recommend this to absolutely everyone.. it can be read by YA, NA and Adult, it suits all, especially that the romance is maximum categorized as mature YA, like maximum.. since i mostly skipped a paragraph on tops..

Sooooo Fisher Ameliee... LOVE U.. can't wait for Ethan's book

3.8 Stars... a slight bump up for emotional havoc.

Spencer's weakness is his desire for money. It's what sucks him in, what makes him do deplorable things; it's why he can't say no to his father. But Spencer has to make a choice. Follow his father's orders or save his sister.

When Spencer and his sister find themselves on a ranch in Montana, their life of luxury and excess no longer exists. And when Spencer's eyes land on Cricket, his life is about to change. A chance to protect his sister and escape his father's clutches provides him with a chance he never expected, delivered at the hands of a family that show him kindness that he's never known.

Lets get this out of the way... Was this as good as Vain? Nope. But the events in Vain made that story what it was. That kind of intensity is hard to replicate. But Greed had it's own moments. Spencer didn't get to stay too comfy on the perch I had him on, but I still like his character once he escaped LA and headed for Montana.

Cricket was an easy character to connect to and I really found nothing to dislike about her, well maybe she was a bit wishy-washy for a bit there... You just knew she was struggling through something and just wanted her to finally tell Spencer what it was.

I loved Jonah as a secondary character as well and wanted a bit more of him than I got. Too bad he seems just like too perfect of a guy to qualify him for one of the seven deadly. But hopefully with Ethan getting the next book, we'll see Jonah pop in to say a friendly 'hi y'all.'

This story had it's slow moments and it really came down to some pretty decent tension and the emotional upheaval towards the end that really made this story for me. I cried my eyes out in Vain and expected some pretty poignant moment in this to do the same. It wasn't really what ended up happening, but there was still a solitary moment that crushed me for a good few pages.

I am not sure if Fury will bring this series back to where it was when Vain was released, I am not quite sold that Ethan is going to be a strong enough character. I seriously did not like him one bit and after seeing how this plays out, him struggling with his anger is really a dick move.

Overall the story fell short from what I expected. This was a solid 3 star read and it was really only the fact that it hit me right in the eff'n gut towards the end that I ended up bumping it a few points higher.

First this:

vain

Now, this:

greed

Can't wait for the rest!!

the seven deadly

They should keep up the vertical center because the background makes up for the "empty" side spaces making the overall look striking and something that catches attention.

I loved the first book because of its nontraditional lead character and I'm expecting the rest of the series to have similar leads :D

Sigh......this saddens me. I loved Vain so so so much. My hopes were so high because Spencer was great in book 1.

This book started off great....Greed was apparent....dramatic home life....standing up for his sister...this book was sucking me in....then it stopped.

I was bored out of my mind after 15%. I started skimming and that is a really bad sign for me.

Spencer, sexy, rich, hot shot says "gosh darn". WHAT???? That was it for me.

Ugh.....I tried...I really did....just saddens me. :(

OMG…O.M.G. OOOOMG …really? Did I really just read that book? Because I’m pretty sure that book just destroyed me. Sucked me in, took me for the freakin joy ride of my life, spun me around and then spat me out leaving me as I am now…dazed and confused and so freaking happy I can’t even handle myself. Which is saying a lot considering I cried about 42 times, had my heart practically ripped out of my body and physically screamed out of angst and frustration multiple times…but I liked it. :-) Scratch that. Loved it. Enjoyed it. Need more of it. Yes…please…and thank you. It has to be said, you must read Vain before you can even look at Greed…while you could read Greed as a stand-alone, the characters build off of each other...you meet Spencer in Vain and it just makes more sense and to me, it means more. And for the record, The Seven Deadly Series…one of my favorite series of all time.

Spencer Blackwell…I was scared he was going to do something to make me not like him. It didn’t happen, that made me happy. Was he perfect in the beginning? Far from it…but neither was Sophie and honestly, I didn’t even really like her in the beginning. Even though I knew Spencer had his flaws I always had love for him, ever since Vain, there was just something very endearing about him…and now I have this deep seated need to love him, hug him, snuggle him and never let him go. Ever. Spencer’s flaws are the direct result of being his father’s son…which for me, is not exactly something I can hold against him. Is the stuff he has done wrong? Yes…morally, he’s not got the straightest compass, but I can see where he is coming from. This is not me trying to excuse or justify his behavior, but…I get it. I dunno…maybe I’m too forgiving…or I just see the best in people. He’s got so much to offer though and seeing that potential just flourish and grow is…amazing. He has such a good, honest, loving heart…and you see it in so many ways throughout this book.

‘I was deathly afraid to admit it out loud but I was exactly like my father. And it felt like I could do nothing about it.
The greed was more powerful than the will to do right.’

Caroline ‘Cricket’ Hunt…wow. Not going to lie…my feelings about Cricket were a little conflicted at times. Don’t get me wrong, I loved her…I loved her spark and personality… she’s smart…she’s brave…she’s feisty…she’s kind…she’s loyal…she’s sweet…and I was completely into the way she connected with Spencer and almost everything about their relationship, but she did frustrate me. I know she had her reasons for holding back, and once you get to the point of learning everything and understanding her…it all Clicks (ha ha…oh those darn clicks ). But her holding back and those secrets are a good portion of the angst in this book. It ripped me in two…killed me, because not only was Spencer in pain but so was Cricket. We are never in her POV, but I didn’t have to be in that girls head to know what she was thinking. Her actions spoke volumes and everything screamed how much she loved Spencer. I loved how unique Cricket was…she’s artistic and funky and completely polar opposite of Spencer’s type and yet he falls, hook line and sinker, never to be heard from again – knocks that boy on his BUTT! It’s awesome. And yet another thing I loved about their connection…they’re the relationship that should never have been…and yet, it did!

‘I looked over at Cricket. I studied the girl before me. She was beautiful beyond belief, but she wasn’t some object to conquer, she was someone to be cherished, someone to be loved, someone to be revered.’

Oh…my…goodness gracious – so what set Greed apart from Vain for me was the angst level. Fisher decided to bump that up about a million percent. Don’t get me wrong…Vain had its fair share, but good Lord…there is this level of constant angst through the entire book. It never let me go…I could barely catch my breath, which was the best thing ever because that meant I never wanted to put it down. It was painful to put down. I was so tied up in what Spencer was feeling, I felt it all…every emotion, every facet of his thoughts…I experienced it to my core. You couldn’t pack any more angst and sexual tension into this book if you tried. Well…I guess you could try, but I don’t think I would have survived it. I cannot put into words the inner turmoil that raged thru my body as I was reading Spence and Cricket…I ached for them, literally. Tears in my eyes, my heart squeezing, inside I was screaming…and like I said, I did actually scream at some points (is that the point when you realize you may be too emotionally involved in a book? Hmm... :-\ ) The feels OH the feels…I had so many! Obviously…they were attracted to each other…but that is so not what their relationship is based on. They have this deep seated friendship…this connection that they build over weeks and weeks of working together, they truly know each other and that’s what made them more special to me. I loved their communication…the fact that they barely even need to say a word and they know what the other wants…the fact that Spencer loves and encourages Cricket and her art/sculptures…the way Cricket gives Spencer a hard time…and he lets her….I loved all of it and so much more.

‘I reached over her and our bodies grazed from the proximity, sending shivers up my spine. I had never felt shivers before, not before Cricket. Not like that. Never like that.’

There were so many little things that I loved about this book…besides the emotion. The writing…off the charts. The detail and description blew me away. I had a clear picture of every single one of the characters in my head and all of them played a valuable part in the story. I loved Spencer’s relationship with his sister, Bridget. He is an AH-MAZING big brother! They may be 4 years apart, but they could not be any closer…and he doesn’t think twice about making any sacrifices for her…which makes him even more loveable. I loved Eugie…Cricket’s dog. And let’s not forget the description and the detail of Montana, the ranch and the work and what goes on…I felt like I was there, experiencing it…and I have this strange desire to become a ranch hand, even though I know I would completely suck at it. I also really liked the references made about religion and God in the book…not many stories really bring religion into it and it wasn’t for the purpose of ‘soap boxing’, it wasn’t a specific religion it was just…a belief, a higher power, something to put their faith in. The context was appropriate and fitting, it wasn’t overdone and I personally enjoyed what it brought to the characters and the story.

“I’m going to tell you something, but this can only be said once,” she began, and took another shaky breath, “I suffer for you,” she barely got out. “I want to be near you always. I’m falling in love with you and it’s-it’s a sweet agony, however, it’s still an agony.”

Fisher Amelie is the official queen of writing these angsty, emotion packed romance’s that fill you with all these feelings that you have to process as well as making you feel like a better person for reading them. I think Greed had a lot more love story than Vain did, but the morals and crux of the point of the story was still there. I honestly take away so much from her books, I feel enriched, like…I should do something with myself, because of her characters, her words – they inspire me that much! I want to be best friends with her Sophie and Spencer because they might have started off as ass holes…or not so great people…but they learned and grew and developed into these amazing creatures that just make you want to reach out and touch some of that greatness. And going on that journey with them, that process of them seeing how their life was versus what it is and eventually could be, seeing that growth and change in their personality, their entire being basically…how is that not amazing??? I also love how unpredictable these stories are. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but a lot of romances get a little formulaic and I can definitely count on Ms. Amelie to shake me up and keep me guessing.

‘I couldn’t answer, too choked up, so I just nodded into her neck. I kissed her face once more as the tears were still flowing, and I refused to put her down. I didn’t think I’d ever put her down again.
“Why me?” I secreted into her ear.
“You were the only one I saw,” she whispered back, making my heart burst.’

OMG…read this book! If you haven’t read Vain, you must, and then you MUST read Greed. Trust me, from …you will thank me later and probably send Fisher a gift basket! I cannot recommend them enough…there are fabulous, soul enriching, life changing books. Oh…and knowing the third book is Ethan’s book (I will not spoil who Ethan is…because I did not see it coming!)…but I just have three little words…Bring On Fury!

I won't be continuing this series.

I had serious issues with it, and I could actually feel myself getting triggered.

The premise of this series is to be introduced to a protagonist with one of the seven deadly sins, and they go through a "hamartia" of sorts and become likeable and change with the introduction of their love interest.

To begin with, "Greed" is a completely misleading title. Some alternatives: "Unfulfilled", "Coward", or best yet, "Sheep."

Feelings towards the plot?

Lacking. I didn't appreciate the change in setting to the farm life in Montana. It's overdone. The hard-going, home-bred, family instilled values and exposure. I didn't appreciate the journey Spencer (H) set off with his underage pregnant sister to hide them from their demanding, corrupt father.

Feelings towards the H?

The worst part of this book. Spencer was god-awful, entitled and a coward relying on the presence of his father to do his bidding. Spencer wants the catered life alongside his white privilege. He wasn't ignorant, but goddamn he was unlikeable from start to end. All he did was whine and bitch about the hardships of life, and how terribly self-hating he was. I hate it when MCs pull that to manipulate and gain reader sympathy. His whole attitude was a crowd waver who conforms to the shitty societal rich kid behaviour: taking ecstasy, having guilt ridden sex. Pipers recurrence in his dreams "haunting" him was a nuisance. Sophie from 'Vain' was redeemable, but Spencer was so unbelievably unattractive in quality. I will also mention that dialogue was unreasonable for speech, it would be okay for inner monologue but find me someone who says: “My pulse strummed feverishly from the tips of my ears to the ends of my fingers. Hot tears betrayed me, spilling over onto my cheeks, making those who were laughing, laugh harder. I was humiliated."

Feelings towards the h?

She just was an extension of everything I disliked. We know Spencer liked Sophie in Vain, but he lets her go. "Cricket" or Caroline enters the picture as a farm hick with her pixie looks. Spencer's a bumbling fool because it's suddenly more, everything he never knew he wanted. Cricket flirts - Spencer flirts back. Cricket has a high school sweetheart boyfriend. Immediately she's trying to get Spencer jealous by kissing said boyfriend (you met the bloke a few minutes ago) and looks at him for a reaction and gets upset when he doesn't engage (even though he's crestfallen inside). It had me going "B*tch WTF relax" like "Gurl you can't have your cake and eat it too."

They both seriously LACKED SERIOUS PERSONALITY AND HUMOUR. Her and Spencer cheat as hard as the can emotionally - looking, declarations of love, continuously finding ways to spend time together. Physically touching (arms, face, shirtless behaviour overwhelming her, kissing palms, necks and shit) without "cheating". I felt like she sought out to cheat, and Spencer to seduce (so entitled!). He needed a bigger personality transplant than Sophie from Vain. It didn't feel accidental as cheating sometimes can. And on top of that HER DRAMATIC NEVER ENDING cascade of tears and trying to pull in reader sympathy with her *spoiler* kidney failure because somehow that made their ridiculous behaviour okay. And then we get delegitimisation of Ethan (her bf) who doesn't get her, her sculpture hobby and is in love with the the idea of them but not right for Cricket. Give me a break. I just hated both of them preceding that but Spencer telling Ethan to trust Cricket took the cake because she was so untrustworthy. I could see why they were compatible since they were such bland people but... It's hard to believe Vain and Greed are by the same author. It had a cutesy, ties all ends ending and I detested it.

The next book is about Ethan and frankly I don't give a damn.

Book of the Week 7

February 15/16

Review:

For the third time this week, I find myself unsure of how to rate a book. Sadly Greed isn't a 4,5Star book and I am pondering if I should round up or down like the other two were.

Now you probably think, well she was not sure about Vain as well. And you would be right.
Then you would probably think, so why read Greed. Well, I had to- might not be the answer you looking for? But it's true. Just let me say this while we at it, I will be reading Fury as well.
I know. Trust me, I KNOW! Because here I am frustrated. Because how do you write a review about a book that kinda annoyed you for first 40%, then at 60% you felt a bit bored, at 80% you still didn't kinda know why you were reading it ( I told myself it was the BotW, that's why) AND then at 86% Fisher throws twists at you, and you can't breath. Maybe, you suddenly notice with dismay, you might like the MC? Then it all unravels and comes together. And at 95% you grumble to yourself, cause it's to happy clappy for your taste. The epilogue, though it's sweet, kinda makes you crinch, because let's face it we all know I am kinda jaded and that shit is just to much for my hardass heart to bear (but shh do not tell, I still am kinda glad it was put there). You feel it was a tad to preachy at the end as well... And to round it all off you puzzled as to how to rate it.
So how do you write a review? But more importantly how do you rate a book like that?
(since apparently I just ramble on, boring the crap out of everyone and call it a review, the first question answered itself)
Then there is the question why would I read the third book of the series.
Well, let's take a look at Greed shall we?

This is well written. For writing style Fisher would get 4 Stars from me. She is a good storyteller that, for the second time around, managed to captivate me, despite my reservations.
I love the idea of the series. Enjoyed the settings of them.

But my issues are more plot related and character related.
See though the MC goes through a great change and growth, I really didn't like Spencer much. I liked him in Vain, but loathed him in Greed for most of the book. I mean, I got his heartache, (except for the instalove bit- which kinda annoys me as always) because as I said Fisher writes superbly. I felt his pain, his devastation, his revulsion. Totally got that. I couldn't stand his whining at the beginning and all his excuses. And last but not least I really was annoyed about
him pursuing Cricket.
Cricket, though supposedly oh so amazing. Was annoying the hell out of me. Can you say spineless? Make a freakn choice girl and stick with it, damnit!
Bridge was sweet- but I don't feel like I actually got to know her, same about Jonah
And the grandparents? Can you say the Waltons?
If you take a step back and look at all the characters, they all a bit cliche and stereotype - again. But I think that didn't bug me as much this time around as it did last time.

My issue this time is the story line.
I mean nothing really happens in the first third, then Spence is busy trying to win Cricket, which I should mention pissed me off, he had no place pursuing her. Then it's the first twist. I wasn't really surprised about that, second twist is saw coming from a mile. Third twist, DUDE! WTH! I nearly gave me a heart attack! (and miss jaded over here would have loved that solution as an ending btw) the forth and fifth twist had me yawning. It was like, ugh we gonna just drag the inevitable ending out for a couple of chapters more, ok? And yes, of course I gobbled it up along with the epilogue. Because damnation! Did I mention Fisher can write?

So I here I am, wondering how to rate something, that annoyed, frustrated, bored and yet, captivated, entertained and moved me (too all kinds of emotions). AND I am planning to read the next novel and not just because of the cover. Did you see the cover? Damn! *fans herself* Yes I can be a cover slut and trust me I am not sad at all that Greed and Fury have these really really nice to look at covers. No, no, I wanna know what happens to Ethan. Oh and I should mention, I don't like him, AT ALL. Yep, you guessed it, I am blaming it on Fisher's writing!

My verdict? Well I think, it's a good book I guess...sooo a generous 3Stars -because Fisher knows how to write!

Greed!!
Dude! Totally worth the wait!!
TOTALLY.WORTH.IT!!!
N I can not even tell you how i had waited for this one to release. Man!

Greed was wonderful. Simply wonderful.
Again, like all of Amelia’s books, this can not be classified as romance, or YA or a NA or a coming of age novel.
This was a love story. Honest to God love story and it was beautiful
The moment you realize you are in love is a moment of such inexplicable clusterfuck of emotions, I dunno how she manages to capture it bang on, every time!

Spencer Blackwell!! Oh my oh my oh my!
I've NEVER seen a rake turn a 180 so efficiently before.
He wasn't really a bad boy to begin with, just manipulated by his father (MAN! I've never seen a father as hateful as Mr.Blackwell in all the books I have EVER read! That man is just miserable! I HATE him! HATE!!! Aaarghhh).

So yes, this story is about Spencer's road to self discovery and all the love he is capable of giving.
We already know hes d worlds BEST brother EVVVERR! Also turns out he is a fine soul of a man too. And nobody was more surprised about that than Spence himself!

So Cricket (why Cricket! I LOVE Caroline). I held my breath and waited for the moment Spence first laid eyes on Cricket, (I still can not, and I don't think I will ever get over the first time Sophie claps eyes on Ian. Sheer fireworks in the sky), and it did not disappoint!!
I love you Fischer Amelia for giving me those moments, the first time they look into the eyes of their destiny. Be it Callum and Harper or Thomas and January or Ian and Sophie.
Its magical and hence the reason I wait for your books, striking days of my calender.
The rest of the book follows what I understand is going to be the 7DS blueprint.
I needn’t explain much coz the blurb does exactly that for you.
And did I mention Bridget and Jonahs story was SO.CUTE! *sigh*
They could have had their own book you know.

All I can tell you is, DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS ONE!!!

Having said that, I hate to admit this, but Greed didn’t blow my mind to bits like Vain did (someone say FAVORITE BOOK EVER!)!
Greed had all the essential ingredients, but lacked that shift in the lead characters life like it did with Vain.
Probably coz Spence was a decent guy to begin with. So the phase of transition was lost on me. Also it kinda lacked the Amelia signature subtlety.
The sweet nothings thrown in here and there which makes you want to go back to the book again and again.
Doesn't mean I loved it any less, just saying I wish it had a lil more spice to it.
Although things did work out magically at the end, I wasn't very convinced.
But I love how she introduced Spence's alter ego as Piper-the nightmare. Also the ‘twist’ at the end made me cry like no mans business, all for nothing, it then turned out to be.

So yeah! Grab and get on with it.
For once in your existence something so profound will happen to you, it'll change you priorities. And that, my friend, will be the 1st day to your forever.

Yeah, so my Thank You list:
Thank You, for that COVER!! (I mean, where you trying to kill us!)
Thank You, for spreading the magic.
Thank You, for making my wish come true (albeit that I did make the wish towards the end of the book), and making Fury about Ethan Moonsong! YAY!!!

I Love you Fisher Amelia. Keep the a magic coming!

I'm not sure how much I can say without giving away the story since the summary is pretty vague, but if you're afraid of being spoiled then don't read on.

I wouldn't consider Spencer as the epitome of greed especially for the fact he dropped is whole life for his sister; that's actually the opposite of greed.

I liked the part when he was talking to his roommate cause it really depicted exactly how two college guys communicate with one another, but at 21% of the book where he was in the car with his sister, he tells her an embarrassing story that happened to him when he was younger but he tells her it as if he was narrating a story: "...So I sat there, quiet, adrenaline pumping through my little body at a rapid rate, eyes burning, on the verge of tears. The class turned to look at me by this point, fifty eyes studying me, waiting. She[the teacher] asked again, her tone laced with impatience, but I had nothing to tell her..." Really?? No one talks like that in real life!

So even though I thought that was weird I just let it go, but when he met the girl omg it was like she was the air he breathed, and he didn't even know who she was yet...and it just got cheesier with each page until it was just ridiculous.

This is also marked as New Adult and I have no idea why.

Wow I liked the first book so much I was surprised this was such a let down
