Karine Green writes fantasy and paranormal romances with cunning heroines/heroes who face internal and external foes. In real life, Karine is a retired emergency services worker with experience in two major cities. She now works as an English as a Second Language teacher.

Writing and storytelling has always been a passion for Karine. She would get in trouble in English class for “embellishing” English assignments to be more interesting. She grew up north of Detroit and worked in Nashville. Upon retiring she now calls Tampa home. She loves retirement since she can now write full-time.

Her favorite way to combat writer’s block is to watch the news. The news always provides inspiration for stories that can be embellished into amazing stories. It even provides names that can be mixed and matched into believable characters.

I am the author. Of course I had to give it five stars.

Background and Inspiration for the Series “A GENIE’S POINT OF VIEW” Book 1 and 2 (THE APPRENTICE and THE ALLISON CHRONICLES)

I started writing the genie stories in their current form about 2 years ago during the winter break of the college I work for. I am employed as staff there, meaning the winter break isn’t the semester prep-scramble for me that it is for students and faculty. At first the stories were self-entertainment to avoid having to watch kid’s shows, but then my sixteen-year-old son picked them up, and began reading them. He read one chapter so many times that he literally wore out the paper, (The Apprentice Chapter 2, regarding how the genie handles a bully. He loved the poetic outcome for her.) His interest may not seem significant to anyone other than me, but I know how much he hates reading. When I saw how glued he was to the stories, I was inspired to compile six of the short-stories into a novel with a running back-story centered answering the question `what if the genie made a wish?’ Of course the wish will be granted, using the same standard he has used for everyone else. This essentially makes the genie both protagonist and antagonist, since he is in his own way. The back-story details how this wish affects the genie’s life, and its spillover onto the people who become his masters throughout the novel.

The initial inspiration; I am a retired police officer, and years ago I began jotting incidents down as small `paragraphs of sanity’, without any reference to a genie. I am well aware that not everything works out for the best in real world, but in my `paragraphs of sanity’ I could make the outcome lean one way or another, like a genie would. I would just write what I “wished” happened. That was how the original idea came to pass.

A well-written and highly entertaining read with an original flavour to the storyline, quite unique and unlike anything I have read before. A true page-turner. I just loved the way the masters were portrayed. I would highly recommend.
