What a ride!
Action packed. Full of H/C (even with the C mostly missing). Interesting. Fast paced. I like it.
I like Connor (just not that he jumped to some/certain conclusions) and I'm curious what will happen in the future to him.
I'm still a bit 'Hmmm' about the concept of the Buddyguards because they are so young in some cases.
A few things have been predictable but I've been still entertained.
All in all a enjoyable, quick read. :)

Die Bände um Connor werden immer besser. Härter, aktionreicher, spannender.
Connor soll zwei Diplomatenkinder in Afrika beschützen. Eigentlich hört sich das eher nach Urlaub an, doch dann kommen Rebellen, Verräter, Kindersoldaten und Diamanten ihnen dazwischen.Es wird ein gnadenloser Kampf ums Überleben mit einer Flucht durch den Dschungel.
Alles wurde echt sehr gut beschrieben. Ich war irgendwie mit in Afrika, ich wurde voll abgeholt.
Dieses Band ist auf jedenfall besser als die Vorherigen, obwohl die auch schon gut waren. Den nächsten habe ich schon auf dem Reader bereit. Bin gespannt wie es mit Conner und Charley weitergeht.

Dieses Buch gehört zu einem der besten Bücher,die ich je gelesen habe!Es ist ein fantstischer jugendthriller der sowohl Fragen aufwirft,als auch Antworten auf das Verhalten von Jugendlichen gibt.Conner hat sich in einem Sinne des Erwachsenwerdens weiter entwickelt,sodass er sich nun anders,z.b.:gegenüber Mädchen ,verhält.Wie schon gesagt,ich habe dieses Buch regelrecht verschlungen.Ich empfehle dieses buch an jeden weiter, der das liest(oder an seine kinder) !Ich kann den Autor nur weiterempfehlen!

Interessant! Gute Storyline und ich liebe Connor einfach! Allerdings hat mich der Schreibstil etwas gestört und auch, dass im Hauptquartier alle dachten, Connor meldet sich nicht, weil er die Zeit in Afrika genießt; sollten sie besser wissen.
Der Cliffhanger, wenn man es so nenn kann, mit Mr. Grey war gut! Ich bin gespannt ob der nochmal auftauchen wird und wie Connor reagieren wird. Schön war, dass NoMercy endlich wieder Familie hat und Zuzu nicht mehr allein für alles sorgen muss.

In the jungle / The mighty jungle / The lion sleeps tonight, zongen The Tokens en nog een paar andere. Maar Connor niet. Connor slaapt in 396 maar een paar hazenslaapjes, helaas voor hem. En hoera voor de lezer, want dat betekent dus extra veel actie. De vorige twee boeken hadden dat natuurlijk ook al, maar de eerste helft van het boek bestond daar vaak nog uit Bradford die de lezers wat zenuwachtig maakt door allerlei schijnbewegingen uit te halen en korte steken van gevaar uit te delen, zonder dat het écht grote consequenties heeft. De grote problemen begonnen pas later. En ook al is dat in Boek 3 niet anders, het duurt wel minder lang voor het zover is. Na goed en wel honderd bladzijdes loopt alles al volledig mis en stapelen de lijken zich zo'n beetje letterlijk op. Als je niet van bloed houdt, is deze reeks, en zeker dit boek, totaal niks voor jou. Gelukkig kan ik ergens tegen.
Het is wat jammer dat het begin nogal gehaast is. In het boek moet Connor door de Afrikaase bush autorijden met een 4x4, maar ja, hij kon nog niet rijden. Dus zit er maar één ding op: in de eerste veertig bladzijdes komaf maken met maar liefst vier dingen.
1) Connors verjaardag.
2) Connor en de rest van team Alpha (minus Charley, denk ik) die geavanceerde rijlessen krijgen.
3) Connor die met Charley naar huis gaat.
4) Connor die terugkeert naar de Buddyguard-basis.
In die volgorde. Het voelt dus nogal overhaast aan, het verhaal gaat in een mum van tijd van hot naar her en dat is nogal ergerlijk. Waarom niet beginnen met Connor die naar huis gaat, zodat hij dan gewoon één stuk op de basis kan blijven en kan leren autorijden? Dat is wat vreemd.
Qua vaste personages is er niet veel verbetering, eerlijk gezegd. Na drie boeken ken je naast Connor ook Charley, Amir, Ling en Jason wel, maar van Ritchie en Marc vergeet je feitelijk altijd dat ze bestaan. Ze hebben nauwelijks een rol in het verhaal, en ze zijn echt totaal overbodig. Nogal raar dat ze überhaupt bestaan. Verder is de rest van het team hier niet echt van belang, alleen Charley heeft zoals gewoonlijk een belangrijkere rol. Connor is gelukkig wel weer op zijn best, en krijgt een hoop naar zijn kop geslingerd. Afrika is hem duidelijk niet gunstig gezind.
Na drie boeken valt het wel op dat hij altijd meisjes beschermt, maar ja, als je als auteur een jongen als hoofdpersonage hebt, moet je er nog wel meisjes in kunnen proppen ook die genoeg aandacht krijgen, en dit is natuurlijk de manier. Gelukkig is Amber totaal niet hulpeloos of iets dergelijks. Ik hou trouwens ontzettend van haar naam, het is absoluut een van mijn favorieten... al is het verdomd raar dat ze dan Frans is, want da's toch totaal geen Franse naam, terwijl de rest van haar familie wel Franse namen heeft. Maar goed, daar kan ik mee leven. Het is trouwens heel plezant om te merken dat Bradford ofwel goed Frans kan, ofwel iemand de teksten heeft laten nalezen, want meestal mist er bij Engelse verhalen wel wat - koppeltekens, accenten, you name it - maar hier niet. Perfecte zinnen. Knap! Dat apprecieer ik!
Terug naar Amber. Ik was maar matig geïnteresseerd in Emily en Chloe van Boek 2, maar Amber zet zichzelf wel helemaal op de kaart, net zoals Alicia in Boek 1. Het was wat origineler geweest als ze niet allemaal voor Connor zouden vallen als vliegen, maar het ziet ernaar uit dat dat stilaan verleden tijd is, afgaand op het einde van het boek. En, zoals ik al zei, Amber is geen katje om zonder handschoenen aan te pakken. Henri, haar broertje, mag er ook trouwens ook zijn - bij een negenjarige maak ik me klaar om me te ergeren aan zijn idiote kuren, maar daar is hier geen sprake van. Een hele opluchting.
Het verhaal rond Equilibrium gaat verder, en in dit boek ook met rasse schreden. Helemaal op het einde kom je nog voor een ferm grote verrassing te staan, die je meteen doet snakken naar meer. Slecht nieuws: Boek 4... gaat over Charley. Dus je moet even op je honger blijven zitten. Maar aangezien die boeken beter en beter worden, is dat geen probleem.

Excellent writing. Great plot and twist. Fast pace action pack pa pack. Highly Recommended
what I love about this book is it make us aware of the world. Actually this is the first time I read about crisis in Africa. Although I know there something going on out there, this is the first time I manage to see what's going on in there, child soldier, mass kill and murder of villager, civil war, poacher, diamonds and so much more. This book will give you a glimpse of Africa in the Bad and Good part of it. The wonder of the nature and animals in the forest of Africa. The survival of the fittest that not only the animals in the forest but also the villager had to struggle to live. There's a quote out there that when the sun start rising you also have to start running. And that's true for every one of use. Every day of our life we have to run, because every one is running too. Maybe not from danger but from opportunity.
I love the twist of every turn from danger in the jungle from rebel from poacher from the government official. Its just show us that we have to be aware of our surroundings and to be sharp,always . Lets always stay in CODE YELLOW so no one can take advantage of us.

I am quite certain the characters in Ambush could not believe the ludicrous progression of events themselves. I mean who can believe such a frivolous plot. There were so many plot holes I could probably break my neck attempting to jump over them. Frankly speaking , Ambush is not a novel, it's a play. The scenes are just too convenient for the story to be taken seriously. Seemed like a property master handing out props for whatever the author had in store for us. The plot grew progressively more frustrating with every passing moment. It was such a relief when the last page was turned.
knowing how awesome Chris.Bradford is at writing, I believe the blame should lie squarely on his publishers. Those leeches! The pressure for results must have led him to shortchange his loyal fans with such a deplorable display I am certain. Such a shame.

4.5 stars, because this story is nonstop action. I love this trilogy because every book I have read so far is super exciting. Also, each book is totally different from the others. I am excited to read more books of this trilogy ♥️

This book is the best in the series so far. Action packed and full of rollercoasters, twists and turns that left me breathless! I recommend it if you want a thrilling and exciting read!

Ambush was sitting on a solid 4 star rating until the last three chapters of the book. I thought the author did a 'cop-out' at the end and finished the novel poorly, which was a real disappointment because until then Ambush was an entertaining read and the best in the series so far. It was action-packed all the way with Connor having to protect his principals from boy soldiers, crocodiles, lions, leopards and other dangers they came across while in the bushes of Africa. Although the plot was a bit far-fetched at times, I can see the target audience lapping the story up with its twists and turns along the way, It was certainly a roller-coaster rides.

Another great book from Chris Bradford and his Bodyguard series Still keeping the great storytelling going in the third installment. This book has a spy feel to it and a constant sense of danger you know something is bad when you first start reading and how the starting tone is set. But for anyone who loves a good thriller or a juicy spy novel.

I personally didn’t really enjoy the whole idea of the setting being in Africa and having to read pages upon pages about the animals. However the plot twist woke me up from my slump and I instantly regained interest, just was kind of upset with how the plot twist had a plot twist of its own that would ruin the initial plot twist.

The third book in the series does not disappoint
Ambush was a great read. I’ve been to Africa a couple of times and what you read is what you get out in the wild. Another rollercoaster read!

Ich habs jetzt das zweite Mal gelesen, weshalb man natürlich manche Handlungen schon voraussehen konnte, jedoch war das Buch noch immer spannungsgeladen und fesselnd. Auch war es immer mit Wendepunkten versehen, so dass man nie wirklich wissen konnte, was als Nächstes passiert.
