This is a beautiful but above all a tragic story about lovers trying to keep a secret. When you read this fourteenth century story with our modern eyes, it is strange to see the reactions of the people involved in the secret. Nowadays people won't kill themselves if their affair is revealed. But on the other hand I can imagine women trying to persuade someone to tell a secret (with cries and all) in this century, just like the queen persuaded her husband to tell the true story. So this Medieval story is still quite amusing and educational.
