Sue was born in Northampton where she still lives. For many years she worked for Northamptonshire libraries and remains a passionate supporter of Public Libraries. Sue loves everything about books, the feel of them, their smell. the way they look. And has a habit of matching a bookmark to the cover of each book she's reading. The process of reading, the feel of the book, carrying it around in her shoulder bag, sitting in favourite cafes reading all make for a complete sensory experience. Browsing bookshops old and new, talking all things bookish with other book lovers, spending time with other writers and meeting with fans of her own books at author events are her favourite things. That and eating good quality dark chocolate, while writing.
Personal Response: Overall what did you think of the book? I really liked this book because I think there was a good lesson which is to never give up hope. Sara never gave up even when she sprained her ankle. She thought she wouldn't make the dance team because of the injure. By not giving up she was able to make her own dance team. Not giving up hope is important because your dreams won't happen unless you make them.
What was your favorite part? My favorite part was when Sara and Arrow found a mysterious dance girl. When Sara hurt her ankle she stayed in for gym. Arrow and Sara walked into an empty classroom and saw a really good dancer dancing. When they tried to talk to her she ran away. I enjoy that part because I take dance lessons and really enjoy it.
What was the main theme of this book? I think the theme of this book is to always have perseverance. Perseverance is when you never give up no matter what. Arrow never gave up on Sara and was always there for her. Sara never gave up trying to get on the dance team. Have perseverance is importance is important because if you always give up then nothing will ever happen.
Summery: Sara wanted to Jane's dance team, but one week before the auditions she sprained her ankle badly. A magic bunny came to comfort her, and his name was arrow. He also came to hide from his evil enemies: the black bunnies. Arrow and Sara went on many adventures such as going on a magic cloud ride. Then when Arrow's kingdom was in trouble he had to go, and Sara was sad. After Arrow left Sara and her friends started their own dance team called the Arrows. What happens to their dance team is revealed in the next book.
Recommendation: I recommend this book to people who like dancing or friendly bunnies. I would say if you are in second to fifth grade you could comprehend the plot of this book. I give Dancing Days a five out of five stars because there's a good plot and theme.
The final installment in this series is yet another exercise in tolerating a magic bunny who can perform miracles beyond imagining, yet is unable to solve a single problem. In this volume, Arrow flies around on a magic cloud, repairs a car with a twitch of his nose, shapeshifts, and turns invisible, yet he does not mend the sprained leg of a young dancer unable to participate in an important audition.
There is also absolutely no conclusion to the framing story about the racial tensions in Moonglow Meadow. I can only pray Fanfiction.net will fill this gap.
A read aloud with my girls. They loved it, but I found it very lacking. It was poorly written with the same word repeated in the same sentence or subjects missing. The conflict (some naughty, mysterious rabbits) was introduced in the beginning and then never encountered again. It was an odd story.
Once again Arrow's meadow is facing the threat of the impending dark bunny war on magic.
In this instalment, Arrow helps recently injured Sara overcome her disappointment in missing out dance tryouts and rooting for her friend's continued participation to compete. In turn, Sara introduces Arrow to the wonders of pizza and technological advancements such as laptops, the Internet and YouTube.
Perhaps it is meant to foreshadow things to come, or meant to be a trick of light, but Arrow sees the approaching shadow of a dark bunny in the YouTube dance video and promptly freaks out (as to be expected).
What could the shadow mean? Is the dark bunny war breaking through the barriers of other universes? In place of a magical key and magical meadow, do the dark bunnies use human technology to impose their will? What does this mean for Arrow? Can he no longer hide disguised as tinier and plainer bunnies behind his human friends? Will Arrow ever transform into a cute Holland Lop or will Lops keep getting shafted?
On an important side note, this book is actually number 3 in the series, rather than 5.
I got these books a little out of order...1st one, 5th one, 2nd one, 3rd one, 4th one. I was a first grader...but that didn't stop me from loving this book until the corners were bent and it was the only thing I could think about. Sue Bentley pleased my interests in magic and bunnies and really came out with an excellent starter book for all.
This is the 5th book in the magic bunnies series. It has little illustrations throughout the book, but not a lot which is good for readers getting into chapter books. My daughter really enjoyed this book.
