Pets of Park Avenue by Stefanie London is the second book in the contemporary romance Paws in the City series. As with a lot of contemporary romance series the Paws in the City series will feature new main characters with each installment with a full romance in each book. Since there will be new characters each book can be read as a standalone or in any order if choosing to do so with some glimpses of previous characters.
Scout Myers has always felt her life would never be anything but a mess, an inherited trait of hers from her mother. Now however Scout finally feels like she has turned a corner when the business she works at with her best friend begins to take off and Scout takes on more and more responsibility.
When Scout has a slight accident at a photo shoot with one of the furry clients Scout bites back her own pride and contacts Lane Halliday. Lane is one of Scout’s many regrets in her life, the man she married on a whim only to have the marriage quickly crumble. The love between Scout and Lane has never gone away though they both realize while Lane helps Scout out of her jam at work.
Another great installment in the Paws in the City series! This was a nice second chance romance with a huge heaping of character growth with the main character Scout. Of course being a huge animal lover I was immediately attracted to this series and I think other furry lovers will feel the same gushy sentiments with all the cute pet moments too the only add to the enjoyment. Not sure if the series will continue but if so I’ll certainly be back or interested in the author’s future reads!

This is such a gorgeous story, it is moving and emotional, beautifully written as Stefanie London always does this is second in the series and Scout gets her HEA when she needs a big favour from her husband even though they have not been together for years, how will their meeting go?
We met Scout in the first book and she describes herself as a hot mess of trouble, she jumps in before she thinks and seems to have never felt the love that someone deserves from her mother to her grandparents and when she marries Lane five minutes after meeting him in Vegas, that doesn’t last either. Scout wants custody of her sister Lizzie and needs not to make any mistakes when her best friend Isla starts Paws in the City and hires Scout she is determined to do well but when she makes a mistake she desperately needs a stand in dog and she knows where to go to, her husband Lane.
Lane is shocked when he opens to door to Scout they have not seen each other since Scout walked out years before, they are still married because neither one of them have started divorce proceedings, I wonder why that is so when she asks if she can use his dog Star as a stand in, he agrees, this brings them together and finally they talk and both realise that the spark is still there what pulled them together all those years ago has never gone away.
I loved this one so much, it is fun and witty and so moving as both Lane and Scout open up and look to the future and of course little Star helped them along the way, I loved both Lane and Scout they are awesome characters as is Isla. This one is moving and there were many tears from this reader happy and sad and the ending is just the best woohoo, bring on August’s story, I can’t wait, I do highly recommend this book and series it is sure to leave any romance reader smiling.

I swear this book made me cry CRY CRYyyyyy I BAWLED my friends. I was just feeling so many things while reading this book! It's a second-chance romance, so you already know it's going to make you suffer with the yearning, the pining, the what-could-have-beens. But when it's an estranged spouses romance??? Man, the angst and the yearning go off the roof. Pets of Park Avenue is a fantastic, emotional read about two spouses who haven't seen each other in five years. They end up reuniting when Scout needs Lane's dog for a photo shoot for her job.
When I tell you the emotions are still there, were there, will be there? Scout and Lane are soulmates. They are each other's love of their lives, you know? It was just bad timing when they got married *sobs* It's so painful when you read about a book where two people love each other, they know they love each other, but they know they cannot be together. IT MADE ME SO EMO AND I CRIED BUCKETS OF TEARS.
I highly recommend this series, it's super fun and the romances are amazing. It also has steamy scenes even if you think the covers don't show that lol! But it does!!!! And oh my god Scout and Lane want each other badly. I feel like there will be a third book because you get to know a little bit about August and if the romance is going to be with her childhood crush oh my god this is about to be ten times more angsty than this one. I MEAN THEY WANTED EACH OTHER, SHE WAS SCARED TO HAVE HER HEART BROKEN BC SHE KNEW THIS WAS IT, SO SHE RAN OFF, AND THEN HE FELL IN LOVE WITH ANOTHER PERSON AND MARRIED HER BUT THEN HIS WIFE DIED AND AAAA I feel like there will be a reunion and it's going to hurt bad. But I'm ready, yes sir!

This second book in the Paws in the City series starts where The Dachshund Wears Prada left off with the focus this time on Scout and her self-proclaimed hot mess life. The second chance romance in this book can be read as a standalone, but all the connections between characters and pets is more enjoyable if you read book #1 first.
Scout Myers is making the most of her chance to help her best friend, Isla, make Paws in the City a success. She and her baby sister were taken in by her grandparents, but her grandparents saw her as wayward as her mother had been and kicked her out to protect her sister. It has been a five-year separation with only monthly visitation, but she is determined to prove she is mature enough to have her sister move in with her now that her grandparents are moving to California.
At a pet photo shot Scout oversees one of Paws in the City’s stars, but when the dogs go wild, Scout is left in need of a temporary replacement for another engagement. She knows just where she can find an identical Bichon Frise. It happens to live with her not quite ex-husband, Lane Halliday.
Can the truth and forgiveness be the keys to a possible second chance with the person you could never forget?
I loved this second Paws in the City romance as much as the first. I at first found Scout to be the hot mess she believed herself to be, but the more you learn about her background and treatment from her mother and grandparents, it is amazing that she is as caring and loving as she is. The mistakes made when they first married were believable for the young couple and it was wonderful to see them come back together with a more mature and open understanding. Ms. London’s writing is funny, heartfelt, and emotional in all the right places. All the pets in the series are adorable and I love them, too.
I highly recommend this second chance romance, both Paws in the City books to date and I am looking forward to the next book in the series!

Things in Scout’s life just might be looking up, especially when she is in line for a promotion at a talent agency for pets called Paws in the City. While it is true that Scout's boss is also her best friend, Scout knows she has earned the upcoming promotion. Things had been rough on Scout for years. This promotion would be ideal to prove her worth.
Scout and her younger sister were raised by their grandparents. However, Scout had problems when she was a teen, and this led to her becoming estranged from her grandparents. When she discovers that her grandfather is taking a job across the country, Scout is devastated that she won’t be able to see her sister nearly as much as she'd like. Her upcoming promotion just might show her responsible enough to become her sister’s primary guardian.
That promotion? Well, a mishap at work might have just washed that down the drain. Her next dog at the agency needs a stand-in. Thinking quickly on her feet, Scout makes the difficult decision to contact her ex, Lane, as his dog would make the perfect doppelgänger for the upcoming photo shoot.
Scout and Lane’s past was intense and all too brief. Their history is to the point that their past together left a lot of unsaid answers - and emotion. Passion. Will they be able to end their relationship once and for all, or will this present an opportunity for both of them to rekindle their past feelings? Meanwhile, Scout needs that promotion. She feels she has to prove herself to her grandparents so that she and her sister can be together.
What an entertaining read by Stefanie London! The characters were marvelous and the setting with the dogs was pure joy. I also loved Scout’s relationship with Lane and their experiences in this book were palpable. Then there is also Scout as a caring older sister and also how good she was with dogs. Scout grew so much in this fabulous book, which made it all that much enjoyable.

Pets of Park Avenue is the second book in the Paws in the City series, but it can be read as a standalone. However, there are spoilers for the first book in the series, The Dachshund Wears Prada. This new installment is just as delightful as its predecessor. I found myself laughing and even getting teary-eyed.
I enjoyed getting to know Scout more and I felt bad for what she was going through. I liked the way she was trying to come up with new ideas to grow the business. I also liked Lane a lot and it was nice to see his side of the story and learn more about his background. Star was definitely the scene stealer though! I would love to hang out with a dog like her in real life, as long as she didn't misbehave the way she was doing so in the story.
I would have liked to see some blowback from replacing the dog. That could have added to some of the complications between Lane and Scout and heightened the drama a bit. Otherwise, it felt like everything wrapped up too neatly.
The combination of cute dogs, a hot guy, and some steamy bedroom scenes makes this a worthwhile read. It's light and entertaining and I had a lot of fun reading it. I already can't wait for the third book in this series, which will be available later this summer!

Scout Myers is a self-proclaimed hot mess and works for her best friend at a pet-influencing company. When Scout messes up a photo shoot of a Bichon Frise, the only way to get out of the mess is to borrow her husband's dog, an exact doppelganger for the dog she accidentally dyed pink. The only problem? She hasn’t talked to her husband in over five years after she walked out on him.
My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this second-chance romance very much. The fact that Scout and her husband were still married, but hadn’t talked to each other in five years was a bit of a stretch for me, but I just went with it and I’m so glad I did! I found their emotional reunion very powerful and loved watching them fall in love again.
Scout is a very relatable character, and I just wanted her to succeed so much. She claims she’s a hot mess, but she is very intuitive and great with people. She’s very conscientious and hardworking and I love that in a heroine. Lane, her husband, is adorable and I love the way he cares for his family, and still has strong feelings for Scout. Any man who loves an adorable Bichon Frise is a good man.
I also enjoyed seeing the characters from the last book again. And I love the New York City setting. I loved the dog aptly named Twinkle Stardust, who had a big part in trying to get her “parents” back together.
Recommendation:

I really enjoyed this second chance, dual POV, steamy NYC romance that was full of heart AND cute pet sidekicks!! The second book in the Paws in the City series, sees Scout vying for a promotion at Isla's new pet talent/PR firm. The catch, in order to fix a mistake, she's forced to turn to her not so ex husband for a favor - the man she married recklessly in Vegas and hasn't seen for five years.
I have been loving this series that has the perfect amount of emotional depth with sizzling chemistry and spicy open door scenes. Throw in complex family baggage and the most hilarious canine hijinks and these books are pure entertainment.
Great on audio narrated by Jennifer Jill Araya. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review! I can't wait to see where this series goes next. Perfect for fans of Lauren Layne or Kate McMurray.

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this second-chance romance very much. The fact that Scout and her husband were still married, but hadn’t talked to each other in five years was a bit of a stretch for me, but I just went with it and I’m so glad I did! I found their emotional reunion very powerful and loved watching them fall in love again.
Scout is a very relatable character, and I just wanted her to succeed so much. She claims she’s a hot mess, but she is very intuitive and great with people. She’s very conscientious and hardworking and I love that in a heroine. Lane, her husband, is adorable and I love the way he cares for his family, and still has strong feelings for Scout. Any man who loves an adorable Bichon Frise is a good man.
I also enjoyed seeing the characters from the last book again. And I love the New York City setting. I loved the dog aptly named Twinkle Stardust, who had a big part in trying to get her “parents” back together.

I really enjoyed the first book in the Paws in the City series, The Dachshund Wears Prada, so was looking forward to another fun romance starring, adorable animals. Pets of Park Avenue is Scout's story. We met Scout in the first book, Isla's best friend. In this book, Scout is trying to prove herself to Isla, hoping for a promotion down the road. Her younger sister lives with her grandparents, but she is hoping to get custody of her and needs to be able to show that she can support her. When disaster strikes at a photoshoot, Scout suggests they get her estranged husband to allow them to borrow his dog. Scout walked out on her husband Lane, five years ago, but she still loves him. When they see one another for the first time in five years, it doesn't take long for the feelings to rise to the surface. Lane has issues and there were things that happened when they were together that had never been dealt with. When they decide that it's time to make their divorce final, Twinkle Stardust, yes, that is the little bichon frise's name, has a meltdown and Lane knows he needs to cut ties for good.
I really enjoyed this contemporary romance. Scout is a mess. She is scattered, nervous, has low self-esteem and is constantly trying to prove herself. We learn about her past and it is sad indeed. I am surprised she is as put together as she is. She loves animals and really enjoys her job, so when she thinks she is in danger of losing it, she thinks outside the box to fix things. I was surprised to hear about her marriage and lack of divorce after five years. Lane is also a character with a lot of baggage. It is obvious to the reader how much they love each other, but they need to work though all the things that caused their marriage to end if they want to move on. I loved Star, aka Twinkle Stardust. She had a lot of feelings around the situation as well, with Scout there, leaving, back, leaving etc. The humor in the story is all around the animals and it did make me laugh. This was an extremely emotional second chance romance. There are themes of abandonment, insecurity, family issues, trust and honesty. It was nice to see the characters from the previous story and catch up on their lives as well. There are a few steamy scenes, but they were not too detailed and I was able to skim them and still very much enjoy the story. If you enjoy a second chance romance with some steam, some issues, adorable animals and family, then I recommend you pick this one up.

Stefanie London’s book 2 of the “Paws in the City” series is just as lovable, sweet, angsty, and romantic as the first. It’s about learning to love and accept yourself, forgive, and learn. “We can’t change the past…we can learn from the stupid things we do and make a promise that we won’t repeat our mistakes.”

The central star of the story is the whole reason why Scout seeks Lane out again: their dog, Twinkle Stardust, who was the perfect Bichon Frise to help Scout in her little screwup. But like all cute doggies with an attitude, she was the perfect 3rd wheel to help bring her parents fall in love again. I loved seeing her behaviour emulate the turmoil Lane and Scout were facing. It’s been awhile since my chest ached so much for a couple who had a second chance at their happy ever after.
This was steamy BUT such a sweet steam if you know what I mean. So tender. Passionate. All in all it made me laugh and cry and I really hope there's another book coming in this series.

I was skeptical that it was just going to be some high maintenance type of story but I was wrong and I loved it. The second chance romance felt so raw and emotional and I loved how Scout and Lane found their way back to each other. They were both complex characters with complicated pasts and I thought their communication and honesty was so important. I loved the pet business as the sub-plot, it was so fun and added a necessary light element to a heavier story. I was truly in all of my feelings with their relationship as well as everything happening with the side characters. It was such a nice balance of rom com and real life and I loved that so much. This one was just so heartfelt and a great reading experience.

What do you get when you mix up a little chaotic driven heroine with her not-quite-ex-husband (who never found out why she left) and an adorable pup? An absolutely romantic story with cute banter, serious moments and hours of enjoyable reading. I had a great weekend reading it and thoroughly enjoyed the story.

They married five years ago after a whirlwind fling in Vegas and only last a month married before Scout ran away without looking back. Despite it being five years, they never divorced. Scout is afraid seeing Lane again will revive the feelings they once had, as their chemistry was off the charts. Lane is a kind and genuine man who is unable to turn Scout away; especially since she needs his help. He agrees to let Scout borrow his adorable Star, but only if he can accompany them to the appointments. The adorable animals are still the stars of this book, but there is definitely a strong emotional bond to both Scout's estranged husband and the grandparents who turned their back on her. Scout not only learned from her past mistakes, she became more confident in herself, especially with the help of Lane, and her partner Isla. Having a second chance with Lane allowed Scout to finally love herself and reach for all that she deserved in life.

Pets of Park Avenue combines a second chance at love romance with a bit of a comedy of errors wrapped around the paws of an adorably fluffy little Bichon Frisé who seems to be experiencing nearly as much sad fluff as her people.
Both the one she still has and the one that only thinks she got away.
This followup to The Dachshund Wears Prada follows the second member of the Paws in the City media team, that self-proclaimed hot mess – and Isla’s best friend – Scout Myers. When the small agency’s star Bichon Frisé, Sasha, is accidentally dyed hot pink in the middle of a big opportunity for both the dog and the agency, Scout is the one sorta/kinda in charge of their canine charge.
At least, she’s the one who feels responsible for the accidental dye-job. Because being held responsible for every accident that happens in her vicinity and taking the blame for all the fallout is just what her cold, rule-bound, hidebound grandparents have conditioned her to do.
Theirs was not a house in which the phrase “shit happens” was ever even uttered, let alone believed. If Scout was nearby, it must have been her fault – whether it was or not. Because Scout was just like her mother, their wayward daughter, and had to be straight-jacketed into proper behavior no matter how much it broke her spirit.
Reining Scout in was the only way her grandparents could hope to save Scout’s little sister Lizzie from her terrible influence. So they did. At every opportunity. Until they kicked her to the curb at age 21. For not being properly obedient and respectful and for not following every last one of their stifling and arbitrary rules.
So Scout feels responsible for the temporarily pink Bichon, and needs a well-behaved substitute until the dye and the resulting buzz-cut grow out. Which is where her not-exactly-ex-husband, and his suddenly not-exactly-perfectly-behaved Bichon come in.
Scout ran out on both the man and the dog five years ago because, well, reasons. Reasons that they never told each other. They were together for one glorious month and have been separated for five years of limbo but Scout needs a dog just like Sasha, and Twinkle Stardust (yes, really) is her best chance to fix what’s broken.
With the agency and possibly with herself.
What she really needs is to either put her past behind her or, perhaps, put it back in front of her again. She’s a bit older, possibly wiser, and trying to be more responsible. Because she wants custody of her teenage sister. Because she needs to start adulting.
And because she’s never found anyone to remotely match the one that she left behind.
Escape Rating B: The thing about Pets of Park Avenue that made this one so interesting was that it’s Scout’s discovery that she doesn’t need to get it together because she’s had it together all along. It’s also about the difference between what is said and what is meant, and that’s a sad and often hard lesson to learn.
In other words, Pets of Park Avenue isn’t as light and fluffy as one of the Bichon Frisés. I missed The Dachshund Wears Prada, at least the social media account that both establishes Isla as a media influencer AND gets her in so much trouble. Because the voice of the Dachshund that Isla puts out there is wry, funny and so very sharply observant that it gives the book a lighter tone than this one in spite of just how much Isla also needs to overcome.
Scout IS a hot mess in this book, but not for any of the reasons she thinks she is. She’s a hot mess because that’s all she’s ever been told she can be, and she’s taken that lesson so very much to heart. Throughout the story, it seems as if her grandparents are the villains of the piece. And they kind of are.
But they also kind of aren’t. Or at least, they didn’t intend to be. But what they meant versus what they said and how they said it, how much they saw AND treated Scout as if she was a carbon copy of her mother, sent their relationship and Scout herself off in some terrible directions that she spends the whole story dealing with.
The second-chance-at-love romance was, at first, heartbreaking. But as the story continues, they are both forced to acknowledge that they were just too young and too impulsive. The bitter turns to sweet as they look back at themselves and look now at each other in order to figure out what direction they need to go, together or apart. Either way would have made a satisfying ending, but I preferred the direction they chose – if only to give Twinkle Stardust her own happy ever after.
So The Dachshund Wears Prada had a whole lot more lightness in it. Pets of Park Avenue was leavened with a bit more bittersweet. I’m looking forward to seeing what just what kind of canine and human drama we’ll get in Confessions of a Canine Drama Queen next summer!

Pros:
-I thought the reason I liked Abby Jimenez was because there is always a dog in her books, but then I am always disappointed in how little the dog is featured. “Pets of Park Avenue” gives the appropriate amount of stage time to the dog character(s) and this was the main thing I liked about this book.
Cons:
-The characters and storyline all felt pretty underdeveloped and one dimensional, yet the spice wasn’t good enough to make up for it.
-Did not like the MMC being named Lane as your generic Forbes-listed wealthy tech guy. He was not given a personality, so with this information provided I had to assume he was preppy and boring.
-Romance audiobooks NEED two different voice actors for the main characters. The voice that this female narrator used for the MMC was creepy. Also her voices for the children were super annoying.

This was a quick and fun read for me. There were just some things that bothered me about Scout's relationship with her grandparents and what would happen after their move. I really liked Lane so much. His heartbreak over losing Scout came across very clear and the way he acknowledged his own culpability in their breakup.

The wording in the splcy scenes wasn’t my favorite, but neither was the first book tbh 😅
What annoyed me was the surprise pregnancy trope rearing its ugly head at the end. Personal pet peeve; HEAs where it’s the last chapter or epilogue and it’s like ‘oh no, I’m puking. OH. My period is late by months and I’m just now realizing. I’m pregnant.’ 🙈

This is Scout’s story, a woman who works for an agency of “social media coaching” for pets with her best friend. One day at a photoshoot a total chaos happened and a fluffy white bichon frise ended up with her white fur dyed of hot pink. The thing is that this dog has like a lot of followers and some events to attend but her owner refuses to show her “looking like this” so they need a replace dog ASAP. Scout only has one choice, ask for Twinkle Stardust to be the replacement, a well behaved bichon frise, white as snow and Lane’s dog. And who is Lane maybe you are wondering, well he is Scout's ex husband, but “ex” is the thing, they never singed the divorce papers, Scout just ran away without looking back five years ago, so I think you can figure it out what will happen in this story full of dogs.
I really really enjoyed this book, it was light, cute and a quick read. I needed that and I read it at the perfect moment. Scout is such a fighter, she has been trough a lot of things her entire life, she never has felt enough for anyone, except for Lane. She loves dogs, is compassionate and is an amazing friend. Lane on the other hand is a cinnamon roll, a tech genius and a soft heart dude who never stopped to love his wife, and he’s too good to be real, but I loved him and how much he loves Star, who I think is the MVP of this book. This dog is amazing, the author did an excellent job giving her a “personality” and like everything that happened here depends of her, she has the spotlight and I loved that.
I gave this book 4/5 stars because I think Scout and Lane’s relationship could be explored a little more, and because I wanted to see more dogs and cats, specially Issac Mewton.

The thing is that this dog has like a lot of followers and some events to attend but her owner refuses to show her “looking like this” so they need a replace dog ASAP. Scout only has one choice, ask for Twinkle Stardust to be the replacement, a well behaved bichon frise, white as snow and Lane’s dog. And who is Lane maybe you are wondering, well he is Scout's ex husband, but “ex” is the thing, they never singed the divorce papers, Scout just ran away without looking back five years ago, so I think you can figure it out what will happen in this story full of dogs.
I really really enjoyed this book, it was light, cute and a quick read. I needed that and I read it at the perfect moment. Scout is such a fighter, she has been trough a lot of things her entire life, she never has felt enough for anyone, except for Lane. She loves dogs, is compassionate and is an amazing friend. Lane on the other hand is a cinnamon roll, a tech genius and a soft heart dude who never stopped to love his wife, and he’s too good to be real, but I loved him and how much he loves Star, who I think is the MVP of this book. This dog is amazing, the author did an excellent job giving her a “personality” and like everything that happened here depends of her, she has the spotlight and I loved that.
I gave this book 4/5 stars because I think Scout and Lane’s relationship could be explored a little more, and because I wanted to see more dogs and cats, specially Issac Mewton.

Un día, en una sesión de fotos, ocurrió un caos total y un bichón frisé blanco y esponjoso terminó con su pelaje blanco teñido de rosa fuerte. La cuestión es que esta perra tiene muchos seguidores y algunos eventos a los que asistir, pero su dueña se niega a mostrarla "con este aspecto", por lo que necesitan una perra de reemplazo lo antes posible. Scout solo tiene una opción, pedir que Twinkle Stardust sea el reemplazo, un bichón frisé bien educado, blanco como la nieve y el perro de Lane. Y quizás te estés preguntando quién es Lane, bueno, él es el ex esposo de Scout, pero "ex" es la cosa interesante, nunca firmaron los papeles del divorcio, Scout simplemente se escapó sin mirar atrás hace cinco años, así que creo que puedes averiguar lo qué pasará en esta historia llena de perros.
Realmente disfruté mucho este libro, fue ligero, tierno y de lectura rápida. Lo necesitaba y lo leí en el momento perfecto. Scout es una luchadora, ha pasado por muchas cosas toda su vida, nunca se ha sentido lo suficiente para nadie, excepto por Lane. Le encantan los perros, es compasiva y es una amiga increíble. Lane, por otro lado, es un rollo de canela, un genio de la tecnología y un tipo de corazón blando que nunca dejó de amar a su esposa, y es demasiado bueno para ser real, pero lo amé y cuánto ama él a Star, quien creo que es el MVP de este libro. Esta perrita es increíble, la autora hizo un excelente trabajo dándole una “personalidad” y como todo lo que pasó aquí depende de ella, ella tiene el protagonismo y eso me encantó.
Le di a este libro 4/5 estrellas porque creo que la relación de Scout y Lane podría explorarse un poco más, y porque quería ver más perros y gatos, especialmente Issac Mewton.

A little bit steamy but most of all sweet 🥰
I just ticked off book 3 of 2023 with my first book that deals with a second chance romance (please send me your recommendations for this trope because CUTEEE!)
𝑷𝒆𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝑨𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒖𝒆 is a light-hearted and sweet rom-com that is super easy to read. If you love animals, you'll find plenty of that as well as some of the focus in this book is the animal influencer world. I was cackling as some of the names of the animal influencers, Isaac Mewton, Sasha Frise (a bichon frise who got her fame on tiktok by acting out Fran Drescher scenes in The Nanny), Droolius Caesar, Sub-woofer, Spark Pug and Lizzinardo Da Vinci 🤣
Anyway, the female main character - Scout - has gotten herself into a situation where she needs a stand in for Miss Sasha Frise since she accidentally dyed her pink... who else to ask this favour of then the ex-husband that you married 5 years ago, bailed a month in, and never divorced 🙈🤣
It was super sweet to read the character growth through out this story - it was lovely to read everything come together in the end.

After Scout accidentally dyes pink one of the most important clients in her pet talent agency, she knows the perfect dog to stand in as a replacement at upcoming photo-shoots— unfortunately, that dog belongs the estranged husband she vowed to never see again after their ill-fated marriage. Lane reluctantly agrees to allow Star, his Bichon Frise, to be used for Scout’s agency’s upcoming bookings, with the proviso that he is always there on set. However, the more time that Scout and Lane spend together, the more they remember what drew them together in the first place, and now they must decide whether to divorce once and for all or to give their marriage another try.
Pets of Park Avenue was funny, charming, sweet, deeply romantic, and I had a great time reading it! I loved both characters— self-described ‘hot mess’ Scout who is just trying to do her best for her sister and to show her family that she is a responsible adult, and steady, disciplined Lane who is trying to deal with his own family issues and to find that there’s more to life than work. I love in romance novels when the leads grow as individuals and together as a partnership, and Scout and Lane’s growth showed how much they had matured since their last attempt at a relationship and that they really earned their happy ending together as a couple. Pets of Park Avenue is the perfect read for lovers of the second-chance romance trope, rom-com lovers, or dog lovers (or all three!). I would definitely recommend Pets of Park Avenue and think it will be a great fit for our digital collection. 5 stars.

Scout is just beginning to get her life together so when she hits a major booboo and dyes one of Paws In The City’s animal clients pink by accent she is determined to make things right, even if that means asking her estranged husband Lane to lend them his fluffy white dog to be a stand in model for her client… Scout just never expected for a wave of old feelings to come flooding back or for Lane to still be the guy that she fist fell for… could this be fates way of giving Scout and Lane a second chance at love?

LOVED!!! This book was just the cutes! I loved reading the first book in this series and absolutely loved this one! The fact that there are so many cute fur babies only made this second chance romance all the more heart melting! Pets Of Park Avenue is packed with emotion, drama, love and one super cute fur ball.

I loved Scout, not only was she super relatable but I loved the fact that she had such a positive turn around. She really had a feel good story quality to her. I loved that she pushed herself to be better just to prove to her grandparents that she was a good influence for her sister. But gosh did my heart break for the way her family made her feel and really making her feel like she was not worthy of their love. As for our hero Lane, well he was just a sweetheart and I loved him to bits! I just loved that even after having his heart broken by Scout he just could not tell her no. I absolutely loved how cute Lane was with Star, this only made me swoon all the more! The connection between Lane and Scout was just beautiful, these two were so defiantly soulmates. I loved that even after all the time apart they just fitted together. They supported each other and really helped complete each other.

I just can not wait to get my hands on the next book in the Paws In The City book, this is fast becoming one of my favourite series to date. If you are looking for an amazing second chance love story then Pets Of Park Avenue is the book for you!
