Argues that the death of Princess Diana was not accidental, examining events and circumstances surrounding the car accident and the subsequent investigation. Reissue.
In 1995, a secret society was formed comprising Britain's foremost thinkers, writers, and artists to explore the world's most bizarre nooks and crannies and to trade and share useless information (or, as founding member Keith Waterhouse, playwright and journalist, would have it, "totally bloody useless")-usually over a pint or two at a local pub. Now, The Useless Information Society shares its findings with Americ an readers in this first of what they threaten will be several volumes.
Noel Botham is charman and founding member of The Useless Information Society. Botham and the rest of his team lurk mostly around London
In "The Murder of Princess Diana", Noel Botham deftly weaves together myriad threads of facts, key figures and events to create an impressively vivid and cohesive tale -- a tale of a traumatized woman, her tragic and seemingly orchestrated death, and those who would continue to victimize her through lies, betrayals and obfuscation, even after her passing.
(This, of course, is no fairy tale; rather, it is a somber and all too real account of the life of a true princess, and of the powerful forces that never ceased their attempts to silence her.)
Brilliantly constructed and eloquently conveyed, the contents of this book are a must read not only for devoted admirers of the late "Queen of Hearts", but also for any person who possesses an interest in cover-ups, conspiracies, covert government activities, historical events and/or the Royal Family, in general.
As someone who has read numerous publications on the life of Princess Diana, over the years, I was thoroughly impressed by the sheer quantity and depth of the details (and even surprised by many of the revelations) disclosed within the pages of this particular book. As such, I would highly recommend it to all.
Noel Botham does an excellent job on providing sufficient evidence that would clearly seem to indicate the truth of the title, that Diana's death was no accident.
However, there could be many counter arguments to prove that it definitely was an accident and some of that evidence is presented when the author gives the French officials' verdicts and evidence. But the overriding impression after finishing the book is that there were dark forces at work against Diana.
It is a book that, once started, is difficult to put down.
Recently a documentary of Diana`s death called Unlawful Killing was filmed. It could only be shown in the UK after 87 cuts. It was a big hit at Cannes.
At the Inquest - the longest and most expensive in british hisotry apparently - not a single Royal was called to give evidence. The court was also the royal court.
Diana was clearly killed. Even if she was not pregnant - she could have become later on with Dodi. A muslim boy as the future step brother of the english monarch ? Shudder shudder !
Diana was a flawed personality. But the way Charles and Camilla hunted her down from day one, and then ganged up on her is remarkable. And Charles is now married to that extraordinarily ugly woman - and she is even the new Duchess of Wales. Camilla is a well hated figure in the British public imagination - so Charles of course, married her. Quite understandable for a family who are actually German but call themselves English.
Hmm. I enjoyed the book, it is well written and appears well researched. I came in to this book with an open mind and ended it curious, intending to research a bit more, but have not been convinced even though I am quite suspicious and a lot does not add up of the official reports. For me though a car accident has way too many flaws, sledgehammer to crack a nut surely? You could and would end up killing or injuring many other innocent people and could not guarantee it would eliminate your target anyway surely? The main area issue for me goes to motive, understanding the arms trade etc re land mines campaign and effect on their 'business' (shades of JFK) but I don't buy the claimed issue of the mother of the future King 'converting to Islam' it is my understanding that neither of Al Fayad Seniors' wives converted? (and what is everyone's obsession with her marrying Dodi, they had only been together a few weeks!) I also don't believe the Royal Family are a bunch of assassins or employers of them. Various secret services I just don't know, the link to a plot by MI6 to allegedly kill Milosovic the same way is interesting, as is the claim that various secret services personnel are identified as mingling with crowds outside the Ritz, the oddity of the carbon monoxide in Henri Paul's blood and the fact that SURELY good grief somebody would have spotted the man having such a high amount of alcohol in his blood (apparantly) being drunk! As someone who grew up with an alcoholic, there is no way of them to hide it. I'm intrigued and this book has made me interested to read more.
This is a very plausible account of the death of Princess Diana . It takes the reader step by step through her life , divorce and love to her final day . Much of what is presented here is not new information , but the way it is presented is clear . The love which the young Diana had for Charles . The hatred once she realized that his long affair with Camilla Parker Bowles was still ongoing and the despair which she felt at being trapped in a loveless marriage .She was becoming a problem to the Senior Royals and politicians around the world . The landmines issue which she was against so strongly and publicly seems to have been the catalyst for her removal . This book answers many questions people have been asking over the years . It might be true , it might not , but certainly Diana's death was not a straightforward accident.
Fascinating, horribly disturbing expose on her death and what is clearly a coverup. If there's nothing to hide, why go to so much trouble to destroy evidence? We'll probably never know for sure what happened, but there's definitely something rotten in Denmark (or in this case, Britain.) I'm a big Anglophile, so it REALLY bothered me to read just how despicable royals can be (Charles, Camilla, Phillip, and Earl Spencer in particular, and shame on our President Clinton!) Interesting that 85% of Brits don't believe it was an accident. I'm surprised they aren't clamoring for the truth.
The author has nearly convinced me that Princess Dianna could have been murdered. He gives overwhelming details relating to why certain ones would want her out of the way and how they were plotting to kill her. It is such a sad story to me. The events on the day of her death, both before and after, are very hard to read about. I just want to jump in there and save her life! And, I might add, " Charles and Camilla do make me sick!" I am not saying, necessarily, that Prince Charles was responsible for her death, but he certainly played a large role in contributing to her unhappy life.
Noel Botham, an investigative journalist, gives his account of the victimization of Princess Diana. He spends a long time on her life with Prince Charles who never wanted to marry the princess to begin with and how she was treated. Botham then sets the stage for Princess Diana's "accident" that so many of us remember . He claims and attempts to prove that England's MI6 was behind her death. This book raises a lot of questions but Bothman provides his documentation.
very good it was about the stuff leading up to diana's death and how mabey the cia and mabey the royal family and mabey something called MI6 was mabey involved in her death and she was probably pregnant with Dodi's kid and they didn't want her to have it.
This book is truly fascinating as well as being incredibly sad. It is very interesting to consider some of the theories that the author is putting forth and he argued his points quite effectively.
The "love" triangle of Di, Charles and Camilla has always interested me (i love a royal scandal). I think Diana was very young and naive going into the marriage and i guess had no choice to back out once "their faces were on the tea towels"... Part if me wonders if she just wanted to be Queen THAT much. Who knows.
I will say, and i know i will be SLATED for this...I've always been *team charles and camilla* they obviously loved each other deeply from the very beginning and the responsibility of the Crown and the call of the Establishment kept them apart (well, kinda). I'm glad they have each other now but hate Diana wasn't able to live and love the way she wanted because she was the Mother of the Future King. Great book.
Having read John Morgan's epic from 2014 'How They Murdered Princess Diana', this is my second foray into the investigation. Noel Botham's 'The Murder of Princess Diana', first published in 2007, is much shorter with just 244 pages, far less detail and information than is found in Morgan's book. Botham splits his work in half with the first 120 pages covering Diana's troubled time in the Royal family and the second half covering the events in Paris. It has to be said that both books come to very similar conclusions and point the finger of responsibility chiefly to British Intelligence and also uncover many of the same examples of cover-up, involving both French and British authorities. Botham concentrates on the French, so called, investigation, whereas Morgan features the British Inquest evidence. Also at variance is Morgan's more detailed probe into Diana's condition post crash, her medical maltreatment in the car and in the SAMU ambulance, which Botham does not look into in such detail. Morgan identifies a certain Sherard Cowper Coles, MI6 agent, who replaced Eugene Curley, MI6 France, shortly before these events. Botham does not mention these men in this book, but relates statements from MI6 whistle-blowers Richard Tomlinson and David Shayler to reach the same verdict. Morgan also provides more unknown motorcyclists harassing the vehicle, where Botham just features a single bike with the white Fiat Uno involved in causing the crash. Both authors identify the Fiat driver as James Andanson, a man with paparazzi and intelligence links who was found years later in his burned out car with a bullet hole in his head. Both authors demolish the so called evidence that Henry Paul was drunk and expose the fraud of his autopsy blood sample showing excess alcohol and a large reading of carbon monoxide. Amounts that would stagger a medium sized elephant, although Paul shows no signs of inebriation on the CCTV at the Ritz Hotel. Morgan states that there were two bodies on the slab at Paul's autopsy and both point to there being a suicide in Paris that day of a depressed man who drunk alcohol before fixing a hose from his car exhaust. Both authors expose Rosa Monckton, Diana's close friend and trusted confidant who latched onto the Princess as problems with her marriage to Charles began. Both Mr & Mrs Monckton worked for MI6. Both authors also cover the illegal embalming performed on Diana at the Pitie Salpetriere Hospital, allegedly performed to remove evidence of her pregnancy. In summation 'The Murder of Princess Diana' dishes the dirt and does reveal enough of the truth behind this high establishment sanctioned assassination and cover-up. I personally prefer the much larger and detailed book from John Morgan. She may have been termed the 'people's princess', but the people must not learn of who caused this fake accident, or who gave the green light.
What is not given a mention in both books concerns Mohammed Al Fayed. By the 1960's Al Fayed had become a senior Egyptian intelligence officer, working under cover with a company Al-Nasir, which was owned by Adnan Khashoggi the arms dealer involved years later in Iran-Contra. In the late 1960's Al Fayed turned up in Papa Doc Duvalier's Haiti and established links with a certain supposed oil geologist named George DeMohrenschildt, the CIA asset and babysitter of Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas in 1963. Small world!
I remember Princess Diana's death vaguely as I was very young at the time, I remember the town I lived in planted beautiful flowers in remembrance of her..
As I grew older and read more, I always said that I felt she had been murdered - and after reading this book I really do feel she was. There are so many details which aren't common knowledge, the horrors that the Queen of Hearts suffered daily due to Charles and Camilla.. even the camilla tapes 😳 sadly I don't think anyone that wasn't involved will ever know the whole truth to this sad story

I thought this would be a sensationalized account of the Princess' death, I was surprised at the research and new information that the author uncovered. While I am still not 100% convinced of his premise, it does make for interesting reading.
Decided to read this in advance of watching that "Unlawful Killing" documentary I've had stored for ages. Interesting stuff, but I'm still not convinced, and I'm usually a sucker for a good conspiracy theory...
I had always thought Diana was murdered. This book supports my view on her death. It filled in a lot of blanks though we still want the truth to be told to the public. We still want all the facts, not the story that was told as it was and still is, a cover-up.
Excellent account of Diana's life in the Royal Family looking at her relationship with various members of it. Also the reasons for her death and the subsequent cover-up.
I conclude that the truth of Princess Diana death lies in the hands of highly powered people in the top jobs and elsewhere. They should be made to hand over information so it can be put to rest. Diana Princess of Wales will never be forgotten
Wow.. I had my doubts that this was just an accident and this book just compounds those. This is a must read whether you're a Diana fan or not... If you think the photographers killed her or the wasted driver this will make you think again.
I loved this book. I have always loved and looked up to the late princess❤️After reading this book, I have no doubt that she was murdered. maybe one day there will be justice for the peoples princess .
Its very feasible that events happened just as described and the so called Royals have Diana’s blood on their hands. If only people knew the truth. Poor Harry, at least he and his wife escaped his toxic family. Time to end the Monarchy in Britain.
Wow! Always thought it was sketchy but now we know. I have also watched "Unlawful Killing" on YouTube, which was made by Keith Allen (the actor and father of Lily and Alfie), and confirms all of this information and more. What a nasty cover up involving the so-called establishment.
An amazing book with lots of facts and opinions as well as different theories and information. It details the processes life and death in a two part format
Loved this book. Love this kind of book and was given this one for Christmas. I'd finished it on Boxing Day, couldn't put it down. Very interesting with good points raised. A must read.
