After reading the first edition of Ripley's Fun Facts & Silly Stories, I jumped right into the second volume with my 4 and 6 year old daughters. The first edition had more facts about animals and more facts about nature that were age appropriate. This volume is aimed at older children. The majority of the facts are number based, i.e. A woman spent over $16,000.00 on her cats wedding or You lose 500,000,000 flakes of skin every day. My kids were not able to appreciate the facts in the same way as the first book. While they were still excited to have me read it every night, they were less engaged.
