Pogledavši malo naslovnice ovog serijala nešto me je zaintrigiralo i smazao sam u trenu prva tri nastavka.

(for the entire fist story arc: vol. #1 to #12)

Really cool stuff. Do you remember those old good episodes of X-Files? Really? Then this is for you. Of course, as in any story ot this type, there are some loose ends and some aspects don't make sense, but the authors made a good work and it got me hooked immediately.

By the way, I'm sure the NASA guy is Fred Ward, and you will also see "cameos" of Laurence Fishburne and the russian president Putin (as an ex-KGB agent) ;-)

Bec knows how to hook a reader and Gérard does wonders with his art. Like how they made characters look like famous actors which along with storytelling gives an impression that one is watching a Hollywood blockbuster. Mysterious events all around globe, multiple character arcs, cliffhanger that makes you wait for next episode. It does have a bit of Roland Emmerich in it, not sure if that's a good thing or a bad one. Lets see how it will turn out.

Currently available on Kindle Unlimited, this is the first episode of a sci-fi series.

This is an okay read. It’s very well done for what it is.

But what it is turns out to be a seriously jaded form of sci-fi mystery TV programme, trying to give gravitas to not much content by piling multiple story strands on top of each other to give several perspectives of the mystery at hand. All we end up with is an incoherent sandwich of story snippets, none of which get anywhere, due to lack of space. Too many points of view, too many unconnected backstories to remember, too many characters with not enough to distinguish them from each other. It just ends up being a rambling mess. This form of storytelling works - just about - on screen, with each episode giving a recap of what went before, but not so much as a graphic novel.

Nevertheless, within these constraints, the writing is intriguing although based on heavily treaded tropes, and the art is good although the photorealistic style lacks expression, and many of the (mainly female) characters are difficult to tell one from another for lack of interestingly craggy features. This also resembles TV series: highly typified actors playing highly typified parts, where women all comply with Hollywood standards of beauty and men fall into set categories: square jawed hero, comedy fatty, slimy creep, etc. etc.

Will I read again? I doubt it. Will I read on? I also doubt it.

(Review of the Delcourt English translated edition on Comixology)

The story is rather dense in terms of exposition, metaphor with lots of talking heads. It also seems to be a continental european idea of America - Fox News is depicted as an actual functioning straight news station, SWAT teams are used instead of the US military for an incident later in the book etc. It’s rather jarring.

However! The art is gorgeous and the build up of the tension and mystery of 13:13 intensities more by the end.

It’s a good introduction but i would be pretty miffed if this were the first album and i would have to wait for the next one to drop for a chance of more answers as the plot barely moves here (but hints intensely of what may come).

I could easily see this as an HBO series

Excellent atmosphere and drawing, interesting ideand, bland characters and absolutely abysmal writing. As great as the atmosphere is, it just can't make up for the terrible, cringy writing and the pathetic dialogue. I keep reading but it definitely isn't for the story or characters.

Groundwork set for the series.

The story isn’t new, at least not right now. This is sci-fi that hopefully sets the stage for unexpected storytelling. The book ends with a “to be continued,” but I’m interested in seeing what comes next.

Why did I read the prequel? Knowing why certain things are happening, I couldn't enjoy it fully.
I need some sci-fi story, and this one serves its purpose. Writing isn't sophisticated. There are too many characters, but overall I am satisfied.
