Just five months before her tragic death in August 1997, Diana Princess of Wales was photographed by Mario Testino for Vanity Fair. This book brings together the most beautiful images from this last portrait sitting. First serial to Vanity Fair.
Mario Testino (born on October 30, 1954 in Lima) is a Peruvian fashion photographer. His work has been featured in magazines such as Vogue and Vanity Fair. His career highpoint came when he was chosen by Princess Diana for her Vanity Fair photoshoot in 1997. Testino has been regularly employed by the British royal family ever since.
This is an incredible book of pictures. Only a few of these pictures have been used in the public domain. Prince William stated that the pictures in this book are the best captured pictures of Diana. That's what she looked like in real life.
Beautiful photos. The title is misleading - the photos were not taken at KP, but on Testino’s London studio. The photos were, however displayed at the Palace in 2005 or thereabouts as a tribute to the Princess. Mario is a talented photographer and his photos capture something of the Princess that no other photographer managed to capture - considering the millions of photos taken of her, his are amongst the best, it’s a pity he only ever had one sitting with her.
Mario Testino é o mestre da fotografia não posada. Neste "fotolivro" ele consegue extrair espontaneidade da princesa Diana. São olhares, gestos que talvez há muito estivessem escondidos ou quase mortos. É um grande acervo fotográfico.
This photography of Diana, Princess of Wales, I feel, shows her at her happiest, most relaxed, and her most beautiful. Mario Testino's Diana, Princess of Wales at Kensington Palace is a truly phenomenal tribute to Princess Diana. It did not begin as a tribute. When the photoshoot took place, the Princess was alive, happy, and I believe was looking forward to her new life without Charles. The photos of Princess Diana are truly beautiful as she was beautiful. She looks as though she is having great fun. Mr. Testino captured her at her most relaxed and just plain having a great time. What a gorgeous woman she was, and these pictures illustrate that. This book I shall look at over and over, and each time it will be as though it is the first time I looked at this grand book. These brilliant pictures were taken at Kensington Palace just five months before Princess Diana's horrific death. I am so pleased that a terrific local bookstore was able to locate a copy of the beautiful book for me. Thank you.
