I read the book To Catch a Prince by Gillian McKnight. It's about two stepsisters named Alexis and Helene that are also best friends. They visit their relatives in London for the summer and on the plane ride there they make a bet. Their bet is to see who can get Prince William to like them by the end of the summer. They go through a mix of emotions toward other people and toward each other. I give this story a 4 out of 5 stars. I give it this high of a rating because the story is very suspenseful and keeps you guessing until the end. The book is not only interesting, but informative and I appreciate that. I can relate to it and my peers around me can relate to it and I suggest that anybody from 7th-11th grade should read it. In my opinion, To Catch a Prince by Gillian McKnight is a great book.

The reason this book first caught my attention was because of the cover picture. Prince William is third on my list of “Possible Future Husbands” (after Chris Pine and Mr. Darcy). I was immediately convinced that I needed to read this book to find out why my possible future husband was on the cover.

Best friends and stepsisters Helene and Alexis also believe that Prince William is their future husband, and they make a bet to see who can catch the prince’s attention on their summer vacation in London. I thought the idea of this story was really cute, and I was excited to read this book. Unfortunately, I was a little let down. Don’t get me wrong, the book was indeed cute, but I think it could have been better.

The reason I say that this book could have been better was because it was pretty predictable. I was hoping for more twists and surprises in the plot, but there really weren’t many. The ending was also predictable – it was sweet, but I wish it had been more interesting, exciting, or surprising.

However, the ending didn’t ruin the book for me. There were several things I liked, one being the relationship between the two main characters. The girls are unique in their own ways, and I enjoyed seeing the differences in the way they act, what they wear, and their choice in boys. It was fun getting to read about two totally different characters and how, despite the fact that they are complete opposites, they are also best friends.

To Catch a Prince was an entertaining book, and I was overall pleased with it. It’s a cute story, and I’d recommend it when you want a sweet read.

Realistic Fiction/Young Adult

This book is all about two stepsisters that are also best friends. One of the sisters, Helene gets an opportunity to go to London for a whole summer and or course her sister, Alexis has to come with. On the way there they start talking about how Helene has a secret crush on Prince Willam. Alexis love to compete so they decide they are going to have a competition to see who can get Prince Willam to like them first. Along the way as there trying to catch their prince they encounter a lot of interesting experiences while in London.
In this book the main characters are Alexis and Helene, they are both very different but they get along well for being sisters. They understand each other more than you could imagine and are always there for each other when one is in need. Alexis likes competition and looks for adventure, she is always bringing her sister along on shopping sprees and can get any guy to like her. Helene is more into museums and art; she really enjoys being her own person.
I thought the plot of this book was ok but it definitely could have been a lot more interesting. This book was not always as exciting as I would like it to be, and i was bored a lot. I only rated it a three star because there were a lot of unnecessary parts to the book. They were just boring and made the book very confusing. The story line was good but was just not presented in the best way.
I would recommend this book to anyone in the age group of 12 to 16, although it is not all that interesting.

First of all, one of the main characters is named Lazlo, and that just automatically makes this book at least a little awesome. Plus, it’s a nice story that makes you feel all bubbly inside.

The book follows the European vacation of inseparable step-sisters Helen (the spontaneous one) and Alexis (the…polished one). They meet some guys (of course), who are probably the sweetest, coolest people that would ever exist, if they weren’t, you know, fictional. But of course the girls can’t see that until like the last chapter. They are, in fact, on a mission to, well, catch a prince. William to be exact, as this was written and printed far before he was married. They have a bet between themselves, about who will get the guy (which you’d think would be a completely unreasonable, but they get internships that get them pretty close to royalty). Then there is a whole plot line with their cousin, who doesn’t realize that she doesn’t need a guy to be worth anything and her boyfriend, a complete jerk, to throw in the appropriate amount of awkward moments.

Did either of the girls get the prince? Does the amazing Lazlo ever get the girl? Well, you’ll just have to read it to find out, now won’t you.

Alright, so first off, I love having a story centered around step sisters who actually get along. It's really nice to read something about a blended family where they aren't fighting to hating on one another just because their parents got remarried. Secondly, where the f** are these girls parents/guardians the majority of this story? They go flying off to Magda unexpectedly without any questions coming from the people who are supposed to be watching them?! They are sixteen! What people just trust 16 year old to not get themselves into trouble?!

Also, I wasn't a fan of the whole bet between the girls. Mostly because it was so childish. And then it led to increasingly childish behavior. Like, trying to one up one another (when they had been getting along since they were 10 years old). And pretending to like two London boys in hopes that those boys could introduce them to Prince William. Also, the one sister, Alexis was mentioned as being pragmatic and clever and practical. But then she thinks that she (out of all the millions of girls in the world) will be the one to win Prince William over. Like, that is the least practical thing ever. Every little girl dreams she'll be a princess, but the odds of that actually happening is super duper low.

To Catch A Prince, is one of the many books written by author Gillian McKnight. The book tells the story of two stepsisters, Helene and Alexis as they travel to Great Britain. Helene is traveling for her great art internship and she brings her sister along, who has her heart set on catching Prince William’s eye. While on the airplane the two girls make a bet about whoever catches his eye first. To their dismay while shopping in one of the most prestigious stores, Helene and Alexis meet two gentlemen that start to fall for each of them. Will Helene and her stepsister meet their dream guy or will they have to settle for second best. This book is one written for people who like little romance and comedy. It’s also a nice short summer read for anyone who is in the mood.

Saw this in the YA dept. and it looked cute! It's about two stepsisters that are best friends but complete opposites. One is preppy, with everything in place and under control while her sister Helene is a fly by the seat of your pants, hippie, artist type. Helene got an internship in London for the summer and Alexis decided to go along. The only glitch in their fun is the silly bet they made. They are trying to land Prince William, to get a kiss by summer's end. This makes them competitive and a bit ugly towards each other. It also makes them blind to the two young men they met that are totally into them. Great book, very cute story.

Anyways these two step sisters who never fight at all go to London because Helene get an internship for the summer.Helene and Alexis are both staying at their aunts house. And on the plane to London Helene got them into first class by using their charm. They brought magazines along so Helene finds a picture of her crush,Prince William. and Alexis finds out and starts liking him too.So Helene and Alexis make a bet and meet these two boys and in the end Alexis got an internship at Vogue and Alexis and Helene get together with the two boys <3<3<3<3<3<3<3

Witty and hilarious at some points. Would really appreciate it more if the said Prince is also a fictional character because having a real character in the book makes the story a little bit confusing to readers whether the author wants the story realistic or not.

I thought the book was well written. I love how instead of catching the actual prince William, Helen and Alexis find their own princes and become happy. I also like how the girls discover more about themselves while in England
