Artistic and musical creativity thrived in the Venetian Republic between the early 16th century and the close of the 18th century. Livro muito bem estruturado e detalhado, sobre a esfera pública e privada da música e da pintura. Apresenta boas imagens, fontes documentais e literárias que abrem caminho a novas investigações. Entre os detalhes, algumas menções ao papel da mulher na música e na pintura, como é o caso de Marietta Robusti, a Tintoretta.
