Thane is with the Guardians on the mountain when he finds Sable. This begins the mystery of the missing hikers and what they could possibly be doing.

I love getting started on a new series, especially when it’s set in one of my favorite Shifter Romance locations… Bear Creek. This time we’ll start off the new Bear Creek Guardians series with Bearheart Protector, and what a dynamic couple Thane and Sable are to introduce us to these guardians of Bear Creek. Six men, unique bear shifters, descendants of the original guardians, will put everything on the line, including their lives to protect this area. And a new danger has found its way to their mountains and forests — and the mate of their leader as well.
Two hikers have gone missing from the hotel they were staying at. No sign of them anywhere, which is odd, but there is a very large area of land surrounding Bear Creek. The guardians have been alerted and have searched, and searched, and then some more with no success. They have, however, found one very odd clue. A clue that brings an old mountain tale to life once again. Even though the search is ongoing for the missing hikers, Thane and his bear have scented something… someone else in the forest, his mate.
Sable needs this story; continuing in her current position depends on bringing in an amazing story… any way possible. Lives are on the line, and she refuses to sensationalize the missing hiker’s plight, but should she be able to break this one, to be the one to find them, well, that would qualify for what she needs in a story. Only, she has no idea where they might be, but she is certainly aware of the dangers of this forest… and the bear she’s looking at is proof of that fact. She might be human, but the pull toward one of the men coming to her rescue is so strong, and she has no intention of resisting that feeling.
And… there’s a stranger in town. He hasn’t actually done anything aside from trying to toss his money around in an effort to “help” the search… but still, no one quite trusts him.
I loved Thane and Sable, both individually, but together they make an awesome couple. Each of them has their own strengths and weaknesses, yet together they are a powerful team. Watching them fall in love while dealing with the mystery in front of them was a delightful experience. Bearheart Protector is filled with mystery, steaminess, good friends, and legends. I’m already hooked, and this is only the first book!
While this story is complete and our couple will definitely find their happily-ever-after ending… there also is a mysterious thread that appears to be woven throughout the rest of this series, giving us clues and information in bite-size pieces. Not a cliffhanger by any means, but there is something going on in the background that will most likely continue throughout the rest of the stories. It’s for moments like this that I feel so strongly about starting a series from the first book whenever possible. Sometimes there really is more to the story than just… this story.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought this was a good start to the Bear Creek Guardians Series by Harmony Raines. Thane is a bear shifter, and leader of the Bear Creek Guardians (Guardians) who just like their ancestors have sworn to protect the town and its secrets. While helping search for missing hikers with the other Guardians Thane was lead by a mysterious force on the mountain to his mate Sable, an investigative reporter from the city. Sable’s in Bear Creek to try and find any information on the missing hikers whereabouts. I thought that Thane and Sable were perfect for each other, and fate sure knew what it was doing matching these two together. This book, like all the books in the Bear Creek Universe is an insta-love story about fated mates. I’m looking forward to reading the next book and hopefully finding out what happened to the hikers, and why someone ended up targeting Sable all because they thought she was asking too questions about the missing hikers? I’m also looking forward to seeing the other Guardians find their mates, since they all totally deserve to find them after everything they do/have done to protect Bear Creek and the inhabitants. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

Exciting introduction to a new mystery set in the Near Creek mountains l
Thane is out in bear form searching for hikers who went missing. Sable is out trying to find information about them also, for the article she is writing. Will they be able to work together, when Thane recognized Sable as his fated mate? What did happen to the hikers and why can they not be found? Warning, not everything is solved in this story.
The pace is breakneck and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character oriented storyline that has some action and some steamy scenes. The characters are vivid and engaging. You just love them right from the get-go. The very beginning shows that there are 6 stories planned for this side series set just outside Bear Creek. If you want the whole picture, read the Bear Creek and Bear Bluff box set, then Return to Bear Bluff box set and then the many Return to Bear Creek box sets and single stories. There are also a ton of what I call side series set in this location as well. This is the start of a new one of those and it is a tantalizing first bite! Enjoy!

Great book!
Thane and Sable are two people brought together through fate. Sable was always looking for love, and she loved the outdoors. However her job as a journalist kept her busy in the city. Thane is a bear shifter Guardian for his community along with a few other guardians who love their mountains and little town, along with their responsibility as guardians and protectors seriously. Thane along with the other guardians are looking for their mates. However an accident happened with two missing hikers and they are missing. The missing hikers brought Sable to Shane's little town searching for information for an article on the missing hikers. Thane meets Sable and realizes that she is his mate. Great news right! Unfortunately someone is trying to kill Sable because she is asking too many questions. You have to read the book to find out what happens. Do they find the missing hikers? Does Sable make it through the kidnapping? You will have to find out by reading the book!

I loved the guardians and found them all likeable in different ways.
But this just didn’t grab me from the start and then silly things annoyed me.
Sable is an investigative journalist, and though she seems to have ethics, it is still about the story. Sable does prove to be about honesty, rather than sensationalism.
Sable is out in the mountains, searching for the lost hikers too, but doesn’t have her own water. How can she be unprepared when she comes across as quite intelligent and capable. But then she does the silly thing, so I lost respect for her.
Understandable to follow a lead but she never contacted Thane or anyone to say what was happening.
Thane is the leader of the guardians. He takes his job seriously and is the first to meet his mate.
It was nice to revisit some old friends in Bear Creek.
There is an ongoing back story but it is fairly easy to see what, why and who, as I believe the person causing the trouble is in this book.

Thane is out on the mountain with his crew looking for lost hikers when his bear senses something but he’s not to sure what it is yet. Sable is looking into the missing hikers for a story. She’s a investigative journalist. When Thane and his crew come a pond her they change back into their human form. After a decision they let her tag along to keep her safe because she Thanes mate, she doesn’t know that yet but soon. So enjoy another great read from Ms. Raines!!

Bearheart Protector #1
Although this is the first book in the series, it's the second one I've read. I think this series is going to be a very good read. The other book was towards the end, curiosity after reading that book, had me looking into finding the others in the series. I'm glad I did because it's an interesting read. Great characters and events, all leading to enjoyable reading.

Romantic mystery
I enjoyed this story. I’m used to quick reads. This was just the right length to force me to slow down and take my time. While there is a HEA, there is a small cliffhanger towards the end in relation to an investigation that takes place during the story. I do want to keep reading to know about the other Guardians as well as the mystery.

okay
This book was okay for a quick read but I honestly had a very hard time connecting with the characters in this book. I know there was supposed to be this powerful, fated mate, chemistry but it really took me a long time to feel it. I’m really hoping I connect better with the next one.

Sable and Thane
His is a very good, well written, shifter/human romance. The characters are interesting, well defined, and lovable. There is a mystery and adventure along with the romance between Sable, an investigative reporter and Thane, the leader of the Guardians. Read and enjoy their story.

A great first book in a new series!!! Thane is the leader of the Bear Creek Guardians! They are looking for two missing hikers! Sable is a investigating journalist, looking into the disappearance of the two hikers! Will they come together to find out the truth and find the missing hikers?

I love the bear shifters of Harmony Raines. This new series still stems near Bear Creek and Bear Bluffs so I was thrilled to see some beloved characters from previous books. Prepare for protective men and determined women in this series. Bravo!

A mystery unsolved
It was an ok story bug technically it's a mystery left unsolved. They come up with an answer however no reason is given. Lots of theories left for you to wonder or ponder. A mating takes place and the guardians are off to get their mates.

Meeting the team
First book in this new series.I did find the end disappointing but I guess the mystery and who was trying to kill her will show up in later books.but it made this book just end nothing got solved.
First book in this new series.I did find the end disappointing but I guess the mystery and who was trying to kill her will show up in later books.but it made this book just end nothing got solved.
