Who doesn't love a kickass heroine? I loved Nikki. This was no insta love mob book. She had a mind of her own and I really liked her character. Leo was okay. I liked them together but Nikki stole the show for me . Thanks to this author for giving us more between the bread than just a love of meat and sex lol. Really enjoyed the read

I need to channel my inner Nikki this year! she was such a baddie and I enjoyed that she constantly put Leo in his place! she was honestly really refreshing to read about because she didn't conform to any rules and what people told her to be! it was beautiful to read about a women with a voice <33

"Got a tattoo appointment, birthday present to myself."

Amara's eyes lit up, "What are you getting this time?"

"It's a surprise."

Gemma peeked from behind me, her head tilted. "Where you gonna get it?"

Nicole pursed her lips, failing to hide her grin. "My chest."

Gemma's eyebrows flew up and all three kids turned their heads slowly to gauge my reaction. I shot Nicole a look,

"Trying to get your tattoo artist killed?"

She smirked and leaned back on one hand, her long legs crossed. It was distracting, and she knew it. "What's wrong? Not man enough to let your 'fiancée' get a tattoo?"

Leo was Leo. he was every mafia boss I've read about (morally gray, grumpy, and protective). but he was also insanely tender and loving to Nikki. even though he's protective of her, he also respects that she has a place in the mafia as a business.

"Mr . Vitale, I'm surprised. Your guests are normally much more becoming. You don't need to sink so low to find a woman, I'm sure."

Leo's grip tightened slightly on my hip, his anger palpable.

"Mr. Ramos, are you insulting my fiancée?"

AND don't think I forgot about Frankie! he's my king! he was so precious and I loved his dynamic with Leo and Nikki. he was practically like their child. (I loved his little set ups)

the plot ☆

I didn't really feel like there was ever a major threat to the couple or the mafia in general. I feel like this book is mostly romance under a mafia background. So less major conflict, but more minor conflicts here and there to keep the suspense. I lowkey prefer this, because the love story feels more about love rather than lust, so I enjoyed the build up of the enemies to lovers aspect of Leo and Nikki.

also the smut isn't overdone! the author does a great job of pacing!

I really thoroughly enjoyed this book and this author is severely underrated!

LOVED IT!! ❤️

I am never disappointed when reading anything that A.F. Montoya writes. Taming Nikki was a real page turner, I loved Nikki’s smart mouth and how she pushed Leo’s buttons.
Five Star read, I highly recommend reading this book!!!
