Hot, well-written and short spanking romance between scarred veteran Dom H and innocent, spunky h with a heart of gold. The PTSD-ridden H was rude and unwelcoming and his neighbour, the h, was like a puppy chasing at his heels, trying to cheer him up, but still the MCs were relatable and it was a fun read.

Rob and Kaitlyn.
This is a very short sexy read. Rob is a big, scarred, angry ex-soldier with ptsd. Kaitlyn is his cute perky neighbour who is crushing on him. He's a total ass to her until he is the only person who can save her. Forced into proximity with her when she needs emotional help, he finds himself willing to give it... and more (nudge nudge wink wink). Somewhat kinky with some spanking, but not really BDSM.
The MCs were really cute together and the sex it HOT. Although they seemed like opposites at first, it turns out that they compliment each other.

I really enjoyed this one best out of the series so far. My one issue is how utterly stupid Kaitlyn was in allowing a first date of a man she doesn't know into her apartment, but I get that's part of the story plot.

I liked the characters. Especially how the marine was written, the author clearly did good research and fairly represented an injured vet, healing from combat. This was very good, and I think this was my favorite couple out of the series so far.

Finally home in San Diego from his four tours in Afghanistan, Rob Gentry shows his battle scars inside and out from what he’s endured. Rob has survivor’s guilt. He’s still reeling over the loss of teammates, and left angry by the loss of his military career in the Marines due to injuries he sustained. Rob’s gorgeous features are scarred by wounds to his body, and feels he’s no longer attractive and desireable to any woman, and just wants to be left alone. Until he meets Kaitlyn Lattigard.

His cute, girl-next-door neighbor is all innocence and temptation. Stubborn and persistent, she’s got a way of cutting right through his hardened shell. But Rob doesn’t do nice. As a Dom, the sex he has with women is all about submission, rough and dirty, just the way he likes it.

Kaitlyn’s work as a social worker in Family Resource centers around focusing on people’s needs. She sees the pain the ex-Marine struggles with in maintaining some normality, and he is so alone. Kaitlyn is determined to whittle down his defenses. When she is attacked from an abusive date, Rob’s protective instincts kick in and he’s right there to rescue and comfort Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn’s kind, solicitous nature brings on a fantasy Rob has never entertained: a 1950’s housewife girl. Oh, and what a delicious journey of discovery for both. I just loved Rob’s firm but gentle guidance of Kaitlyn’s initiation into a world of kink and domestic discipline.

Owned By The Marine is a sexy, military romance novella. The writing is fluid which made for an enjoyable read. Ms Rose brings us characters we can relate with, and sexy scenes that sizzle. I just loved the connection between Rob and Kaitlyn. And the epilogue is sigh-worthy.

Short but smoking hot. But don't bother reading if you want adequate handling of problems such as PTSD. Actually scratch that the handling is really bad and I had problems at times abstracting myself from it so I could enjoy the rest of the story. And by story I mean the sex scenes.

The last chapter felt a bit rushed. There’s too much telling and too little showing what’s happening.

Well, this was a total hoot! I really enjoyed it. It was kinda silly and smokin hot. Not much heavy brain power involved but that's okay after the hectic holidays, I needed a little break. There's a June Cleaver kink thing happening that I thought was a total riot. Hee, Hee. Bad boys indeed.

This was an okay read, and a good way to pass the time. A sweet, positive woman, moves in next door to a cranky, damaged, PTSD'd marine, and tried to be nice. He isn't in the mood, then she has a date go bad and he saves her. Now, he can't live without her

This story is a kinky, sweet romance about a scarred Marine and a sweet social worker. Kaitlyn isn’t scared of the big man with the scars. In fact, she can’t stop imaging what it would be like to be held in his arms. Nothing in Rob’s world is right anymore and when he meets Kaitlyn, the girl across the hall, he thinks she’s too nice for him even if she does seem to be attracted, until one fateful night changes everything.

I really loved this story because it’s not just about kinky sex. It’s a romance with a lot of heart.

In a world where things go wrong in an instant then go to where recovery is an on going chore, there is always something to challenge even that. Went grouch meets sweet, it might be he who gets rehabilitated after all.

I really enjoyed reading this story. I think what I like the most is how this wounded just as emotionally as he is physically how he can slowly find the missing pieces of himself that he buried so long ago, and parts of himself that he didn’t know he was capable of. But it is not as easy of a road as it would seem. Kaitlyn herself goes through a trauma, but with Rob’s help she is able to come to grips with the shame that she feels that came with it. Now there is some BMSD involved it the story so be worn about that. However in this case I think that it has more of a healing factor to it than any thing else.

Marine Sargent Rob Gentry has been discharged after recovering from his injuries so to speak. After the incident that took out all of his men they tell him among other things that he has survivors guilt. The right side of his face is burned, as well as his right arm, and his leg so bad that he has lost feasibility in bending his knee. It hurts to climb the stairs to his new apartment but that is why he got one on the third floor. To feel the pain to remember that he was alive. After so many months of living in the drug induced fog of the pain killers and getting off of them on his own going cold turkey. Well lets just say one having experience with that certain drug going cold turkey is not pleasant at all. He just wants to be left alone. Or so he thinks

Kaitlyn Lattigard has fiery red hair, dimple on her faced and a cheery disposition. She lives next door the Rob. She is a social worker with Child and Family services. She is able to see beyond the outside scares to the man that is underneath the burns and gruff exterior. Plus she thinks he is supper hot with his large build and sexy muscles. In other words she thinks he is the man of her dreams. She brings up one of his boxes for him though he tells her he doesn’t want the help. Then slams to door in his face. She goes back to the his apartment later with a plate of brownies to introduce herself, he gives her his name slams the door only to open it once again and asked it the brownies were for him. Kaitlyn tells him yes if she can come in with him for a while, he grabs the plate of brownies and slams the door shut again. All she can do is laugh.

Rob tries to avoid Kaitlyn but they do occasionally talk where she does seem to press him a little too hard at times. Then on Saturday night Kaitlyn has a date with a man she has been talking to on line for several weeks. His name is Alexander and he is a chiropractor or so he says. When he comes to pick her up he looks nothing like the picture of him on line. By the middle of the date she just wants it to be over and has him take her home one that is when things go from bad to extremely horrifying. If Rob had not heard her banging on the wall there is not telling what state she would have been. But he did, kicked in her door and saved her.

Doing these the next several hours Rob found out something about himself that he thought he lost. Kaitlyn found something she thought she would never find. Can Rob and Kaitlyn get past all the stuff in the middle and make a relationship work?

Not quite the totally warm and fuzzy girl meets marine who saves her romance I was expecting.

Marine has suffered some pretty heavy damage from combat, physically and mentally. He rescues the girl from a bad situation gallantly.

Girl is dimples cute, but adventurous.

The unexpected, for me at least, was the intro of domestic BDSM elements.

While the connection between the couple is very sweet, and apparently intense, I struggled with a few things. In broad strokes, Kaitlyn is a victim of sexual assault. As a survivor myself, I know that everyone's coping mechanism is different. In my own experience, and in that of most survivors I've known, control and lack of restraints is an issue. As in, usually not something that is at all appealing.

Not being able to escape is terrifying to me. I've had it explained to me by others that the real power always lies with the submissive, because they can change what happens, and when it stops. But that assumes a level field of trust and respect.

Kaitlyn, as an assault victim, becoming a submissive in a Dominant relationship seems odd to me, though the Dom/ Sub relationship here is one that allows the Dom to comfort, console, and emotionally care for her.

The arrangement seems to work well for these appealing characters.

The couple seems to have a happy, steamy connection, and moves towards a happy ending.

Not a warm and fuzzy relationship, but certainly hot, heavy, and HEA.

A steamy read if this is your type of military romance.

Marine Sergeant Rob Gentry lives in an apartment and is sticking clear of the girl next door who is far too innocent and vanilla for his tastes even though she is definitely smoking hot and cute. However, when a date with a guy she met online goes south he busts into her place to rescue her because that is the way a marine would behave. Then she needs comfort and a place to stay the night, so by the time he is through owning her body he discovers that she is a natural submissive and he cannot ever let her go.

This was a nice novella which had some drama, some bravery and a lot of sexual discovery and mild BDSM-like content mostly involving spanking. I liked his personality and they did seem to go well together even though on the face of it you would never have guessed that. Contains mature content.

Owned by the Marine is a great quick read. Rob is retired from the military after a bomb killed his entire squad. He suffers from survivors guilt as well as PTSD. Not someone you would expect t Kaitlyn to be attracted to. she is the cute, sweet, girl next door...too sugary sweet for big bad Rob. But damn she is drooling over her scarred neighbor and after a n internet date goes bad and Rob comes to her rescue their chemistry escalates. The writing is flawless and smooth and lends itself to really good military novella. This is the first book by Renee Rose that I have read and it won't be the last.

In this story, Rob and Kaitlyn are next door neighbors in their apartment building. Rob was injured in war and discharged due to his injuries. He is extra gruff, doesn’t want any help, and likes to be left alone. Kaitlyn is a cute and sweet next-door neighbor who likes to talk to Rob. All he wanting is to be left alone! So, Rob ignores Kaitlyn… that is, until he hears her screaming.

Uncaged Review: This is a shorter read, so I won’t go into too many details, but when Rob moves into his new apartment, he mainly just wants to be left alone. Until he meets his hot and too sweet neighbor. The chemistry is good between the characters and there are some hot BDSM sex scenes. Because of the length of the book, a lot of things moved way too fast and there wasn’t any real substance to the story and there were some missed opportunities with the characters, especially Rob. Growly Marine and sweetheart

This was a very short story but it was kinda a love at first week kinda story. With a marine with ptsd and a girl who finds herself on a date from hell... Literally she gets strangled and nearly raped, but the marine busts down her door to save her and discovers he really wants to protect her. But she snoops in his kinky toy drawer and gets caught. That leads to discovering she isn't just sweet but maybe she is exactly his dream girl. It is a nice exciting story but it isn't very long.

Rob got out of the marines and was in the process of moving into his apartment when the next door neighbour offered to help him. He. Would only let her carry one box. Kaitlyn. Ann was going out on a date when they got back he offered to walk her to her door then shoved her in. He tried to attack her in the bedroom and cut her air supply off. She managed to get one screaming out and knocked on Robs wall. He came to her rescue and Kaitlyn phoned the police. Kaitlyn wouldn’t let go of Rob. So there romance started.

A super hot panty melter of a book. It’s a quick read (less than a hundred pages), which makes it a great story to break up the long ones when you just need something to cleanse the palate. Our hero is dark, flawed, and the perfect alpha to submissive Kaitlyn Ann. This a fast paced erotica story so if you aren’t into dom/sub relationships and light bdsm this won’t be your thing. If you are or are unsure this is a good intro to the subject. Trigger warning for a date rape scene as well.
