Elisha Thurman is a good girl. Actually, she’s a certified nerd as a chemist-turned-CEO of her own company. A businesswoman through and through, she’s met her match in Javier Hernandez. A corporate raider who buys out companies leaving trails of corporate destruction in his wake; he’s a man who is all about business-all the time. Now, he’s set his sights on Elisha’s company. And once Javier has a company in his line of fire, it’s all but said and done that he’s going to take it over and win. That’s what Javier is, a winner.
Now is Javier’s chance to win with Elisha. He placed the stakes on the table. One night with him or risk losing what she has left of her career (and good name in the business world) before taking over her company. Will Elisha bite the bullet and give him one night with her or have her name permanently etched on the business world’s Hall of Shame?
The sex scenes are scorching and the attraction between Elisha and Javier are beyond hot. That’s undeniable. Johnson shows us glimpses of creative wordplay with quotable lines such as: “She had thrown him off his game. Profits and p___y, never passion, had been his credo for life.” However, there were some points throughout the book where I questioned the flow of the novel. Small things like are we in NYC or Atlanta? And at the beginning of the story, is she an employee or a CEO? Why is she in this gentleman’s club? That confusion didn’t stop me from me reading the book because I was still intrigued enough by the story line. But, it did slow me down a bit, re-read, and question whether I understood correctly what I just read. That being said, the heat level is off the charts and those small things were not enough to stop me from reading and finishing the novel. I would read another book by this author.

He's taken her business but she feels she has one last chance to get back at him or at least shake him up. It works but in ways she doesn't foresee. Now he wants her not for a night but forever. Interesting twist to a take over.
