I don't want to be me. I don't want to feel anymore. I have felt all my life and look where it's gotten me. The life I had is destroyed. What I thought I knew, was never real. What I loved is gone. Now is my time to live without consequences, without regret. I want to get lost in it all and never be found. I'm Wrecked, Let me drown. Please, don't try and save me.
*This book contains mental health, substance abuse and other heavy themes that may be uncomfortable for some readers. It does end in a HEA*
Kinsley Kincaid is a long time fan of psychotic dark book boyfriends. She does not limit it to just Dark Romance but Taboo as well, yes the scandal!
She enjoys pushing boundaries, so don’t be surprised when you see this also reflected in her work. Be sure to stalk her on her socials and reader group shared with Isla Gray; Tainted N Taboo.
This was my first book by this author but I can guarantee it won't be my last! Dark, filthy and so taboo, this was everything I needed for a quick fix! My heart hurt for Lily, coming home to find everyone in her life gone, with only a note as an excuse. Resorting to drugs to numb the pain and offering services to pay for them, she finally finds someone whose only intention is for her to be happy, despite them being cousins, and damn are they so good together! Jaxson has the most dirtiest mouth I've ever read and the spice is delicious. This was such a well written story, I was entranced the entire time, and the author handled the mental health trope so well! Overall a great taboo read and I can't wait to read more from the author!
This book handles with Mental Illness and blood cousins some blood play and drugs. So if that bothers you don’t read it that’s my warning.
This is the first book I have read from this author but it won’t be the last. The story of Lily is heartbreaking just a teenager and abandoned by her parents. Who are tired of being parents. I wish I could say I have never seen that in real life but unfortunately I have.
Lily is still in high school and suffers from severe anxiety and depression, she has to find ways to help her cope with her new life. She meets the neighbor drug dealer and she starts doing drugs to cope with her new reality.
We later meet her cousin Jaxson who was just stopping by to her get some tools from her uncle, for a job he was doing. That’s how he learns what has been going on in her life. He tries to help her over come all the drugs and people she has in her life at the time. Jaxson is no saint he’s a hot head and has anger issues.
Eventually they do get involved sexually and he helps her control her anxiety and depression. They have a very hot dom and sun relationship.
The book deals with heavy anxiety and depression matters but it does have a happy HEA. I recommend this book to anyone who are ok with the triggers 📚

This was an ARC read given to me by the author for a honest review.
5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Let me preface this review by saying I LOVE taboo/forbidden books. I was excited that I received this arc knowing it's taboo. Definitely not the most taboo I've ever read but I was intrigued nonetheless.
I really felt for the fmc. I was cursing her parents the entire first half of the book. They did her so dirty. I felt sorry for her. When her cousin came in I eagerly welcomed him because I knew what would be coming 😏
Unfortunately the story just fell short for me. There was no build up/tension. It was sort of like the mmc told her to do something out of nowhere and she just did it... I LOVE the tension from taboo relationships and I was sad to see there really wasn't any back and forth between the two. No will they won't they type of thing which was untimely the downfall for me.
Nothing about their relationship seemed forbidden aside from the author explicitly saying they are blood cousins. The story was brief and didn't really contain any plot or substance to keep me invested unfortunately.
I received this book as an arc in exchange for an honest review.
You could say I am in my taboo era. Let's be honest this is not a phase. Kinsley has given us a spicy, emotional, (extreme) taboo book. I was not expecting to be so damn anxious and worried for Lily (our FMC) in the first few pages! It's full of heartache. She's trying to cope with her anxiety and trauma, which has led her down a path she never saw for herself. But that's where Jaxson comes in. They may seem wrong for each other, but they are truly perfect. I can't get enough of Jaxson. He... def has his own way of helping her get through her trauma (nails anyone?).
Oh, and I loved Jinx the cat!
This book is short with a HEA, dual POV (I love Jaxson's POV), with some good spice.
Jaxson oh Jaxson....you barged into Lilys life when she most needed it but she never knew. Lily is alone for the first time in here life and that has got to be the hardest thing that has happened to her until daddy Jaxson comes in. Lily in the beginning was a complete mess, and that knock on the door changed her life for the best. At first Lily was a little iffy about Jaxson but as time went on she found comfort in him. Jaxson of course didn't go away when Lily would say and that just ended up with them becoming a cute little couple. Kins never disappoints with a book and this is a VERY clear example of that.
Absolutely loved this book the whole mental health genre really reasonated with me having anxiety and depression myself I could feel what Lilly was feeling and really understanding how she got to where she was and why she did, I absolutely loved Jackson regardless of them being cousins he saved her, he is defo one of my favourite knights ♥️
Kinsley never disappoints and she has easily become one of my auto buy/auto read authors. This taboo dark romance is gritty and spicy. I loved the tropes in this and the plot, as well as the FMC. This would be a great start for anyone wanting to dip into some serious taboo. This is a great first start.
Another dark taboo masterpiece from Kinsley. This time, we get cousins. This was everything I would expect and more. I absolutely love Jaxson and all his "caveman" ways.
This one really is so much deeper than just a dark taboo romance with lots of depraved spice, though. Wrecked hits home for a lot of us suffering from anxiety and depression. The way Lily's anxiety attacks were described, I could literally feel it as if it was happening to me. The poor choices she made in coping with it are some things we can all relate to in one way or another. It felt very real, and I appreciate how serious this topic was touched upon. Not only did Kinsley describe it in a way that made you feel it in your bone marrow, but she also brought some amazing examples of coping skills and ways to get help to light. So yes, we love it for all of its morally depraved and deliciously taboo romance; but we also love it for being just so much more.
Wrecked by Kinsley Kincaid is an extreme taboo romance.
I absolutely love Kinsley's books! I can't help but binge them each time she releases a new one.
I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Jaxson and Lily. It's messy but you couldn't help but root for them. I loved that we got both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I would recommend this book if you like extreme taboo romances, enemies-to-lovers romances, or dark romances.
Lily and Jaxson talk about taboo, ooo boy!!! This book, plz check trigger warnings before you dive into this one. I'm not one for taboo romances but oh no this is so so so bloody good. Lily the lost one who has no one in her corner spiraling out of control. Jaxson comes in like a white knight but not really who turns everything on its head and questions lily about her life. The freaking smut in this one will definitely set ur devices on fire and it's so absofuckinglutly worth it!!! Run n read this one!!!
Be still my taboo beating heart!!! I love Jaxson and Lily so much! This book was so amazing. I love how Kinsley always takes such great care in how she describes and brings in the mental health subjects. Myself, being afflicted, knows how this is and can literally feel it as Lily is going through it. The self doubt and the anxiety!
I have to say… every time I read a book of Kinsley’s it just makes me want to devour more and more. She has quickly became one of my one click authors of dark romance!
This book! THIS BOOK!! Holy moly what a ride!!! Such an amazing, hot, sexy read! I absolutely loved every bit of it. Really makes my question my already questionable moral lol seeing Jaxson and Lily’s relationship grow, will melt your heart. Kinsley does an amazing job with these characters, you’ll literally feel like your in the their story!
If you don’t have triggers, love taboo books, this one is for you! Highly recommend it!!
Loved this novella. I have always been a fan of taboo and this one hit it just right. I also love that she included anxiety and abandonment. I also can relate to the drug use to self medicate for that anxiety.
I definitely recommend this novella and can’t wait to add it to my trophy shelves for a good re-read.
Topics in this book may be hard for some to read, so as always, PLEASE check trigger warnings.
This is my first read by Kinsley Kincaid, and it did not disappoint! I don't want to give too much away, but I loved this book. This is a tragic story with a world and characters that are phenomenally written and ends up turning out better for the characters.
So I finished this book but will however not give it a rating as I feel like I was personally affected by this book and wouldn’t be able to give it a fair rating. It was very well written taboo story with great spice and I love how involved it was with mental health and other topics described (please check your triggers) but I personally struggled with the topics a bit and just wasn’t feeling great after finishing this book which is why I had to take a few days before writing this review. I usually don’t have any actual triggers and don’t think it was too dark or anything but I just think the circumstances brought up a lot of negative feelings and memories I’ve personally tried to bury and get over
I enjoyed this short spicy taboo story 🖤 This is an enemies to lovers, and I love how it touches the subject of mental health.
Lily is fiesty, bratty, and dealing with a lot, while Jaxson is possessive and a hot head, which makes the chemistry angsty and perfect. I liked how their relationship unfolded and grew.
I recommend this story if you enjoy taboo, short, and spicy reads. Read TRIGGER WARNINGS ⚠️ first!
I didn’t enjoy this book whatsoever. The main characters didn’t have any chemistry and the forbidden aspect just wasn’t even present. There was no “we shouldn’t be doing this”, they just randomly started fucking. Not to mention there were grammatical and spelling errors in my copy of the book. Not a good time.
There was no love or romance in this book just straight up porn. The characters didn’t love each other they just randomly starting fucking. Even worse the girl was fucking someone else the mmc decided it had to stop told her she couldn’t see that guy again because he now decided he was going to fuck her. No mention of them being forbidden it wasn’t even a thought in their mind
Wow! Color me surprised, this book is so well-written. Every word denotes the emotional crevasse of the female lead - 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐲. In all honesty, I wouldn't reproach her for all the effects that she did because at the juncture that was the only way that she saw to outlast the shit of life.
I'm so glad 𝐉𝐚𝐱𝐬𝐨𝐧 provides the 𝑛𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑐𝑦no matter how unconventional it is. He helps Lil to be grounded.
What I liked most about this book, is how the author doesn't shy away from describing how mental health affects individuals. The repercussions and frays in everyday life. It's a sad beautiful tragic reading and echoing it with your own experience.
Across the board, this is my first read by the author and I’m impressed! Henceforth I’m looking forward to reading about her future works! ✨🌟
Kinsley did not disappoint with this book. It was intense with Lily’s anxiety and mental health struggles. But the relationship that happens with Jackson is holy hotness and so taboo.
Once I started this book there was no way I was putting it down. You are hooked from the very beginning and just need to know what happens next. Kinsley has you invested in Lily’s story and you feel her pain and struggles.
Kinsley wrote about the daily struggles and obstacles of mental health in this book. It’s never an easy thing to face and Lily proves that. This book was full of spice and some dark scenes but I would highly recommend this book.
Kinsley Kincaid is quickly becoming one of my auto-buy authors! This book is taboo but it’s on the deeper side. Lily, the FMC, still in high school… comes home one day to find her parents had left her. Any other teenager would probably be excited but Lily needs someone. You see, she suffers with severe anxiety & depression. In order to not have to cope with being alone, Lily latches on to the bad boys of the trailer park, Ethan & Luke. She quickly goes from clean quiet girl to taking pills and sleeping with boys. That is.. until cousin Jaxson comes along..
Jaxon is Lily’s blood cousin and what he finds when he stops over to get something from Lily’s father, he’s not pleased with. He’s always known his cousin to be a good girl. But he’s shocked and furious to see what’s happened to her. He’s determined to set her straight.. by any means necessary.
Wrecked hits home for a lot of us who struggle with anxiety & depression. The author did a phenomenal job at depicting a character that struggles with mental illness. I loved Jaxson!! Fierce, rough and tough he comes in like a white knight to save Lily and the spice & intimacy between the 2 of them was SO FREAKING HOT!!!
I would have loved for more backstory on why her parents just up and left but I get it. It was a novella.. short and right to the point. I get how Jaxson wanted to kill Luke & Ethan and her parents cuz I wanted to also!! Infuriated me how they took advantage of her weakness and vulnerability. Again, Kinsley did an AMAZING job with the mental health rep. Aside from one of my most “ickiest” words being used (pet) I’m giving this 4 stars!!
You must definitely need to read the trigger warnings before reading, Kinsley Kincaid knows how to write a damn good Taboo Romance because I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Lily comes home from school to the trailer park she lives in just to find out her parents left, like literally shit their phone down & left a letter saying they needed to find themselves now that she would 18 in two months. I was absolutely baffled & frustrated when reading the letter, now Lily has so many voices & anxiety in her moms & body that she gets caught up in a terrible situation. A couple trailers down is the park drug dealer Ethan & his best friend Luke who takes a certain liking to Lily. She got what she wanted & they got exactly what they wanted from her, all for her to be numb from the voices & the pain. Now shit gets real when Jaxson her cousin shows up, but it’s exactly what she needed especially when she is very bratty. Jaxson works in construction with long as days, but that doesn’t stop him from taking care of his pet. He knows her attacks & what’s best for her, which is definitely not the pills. She has her own reasons for believing that he will leave like everyone else, but what she doesn’t know is this man will do anything for her. They may be cousins, but that is not holding them back from being together. This was a really great spicy read & I most definitely recommend if you’re looking for a spicy dark taboo romance!
This book was absolutely brilliant. Kinsley smashes it again with her Taboo work.
17 year old Lily, comes home from school one day to an empty trailer. Only her belongings, no parents and a single page note informing her that they've gone to live their life now and their job with her is done. No way of contacting her parents Lily does what she needs to to survive, and befriends the local drug dealer and his bestie in the trailer park. All of a sudden aware of the uses of her feminine body, Lily begins to trade services for drugs to numb the feelings.
With severe anxiety and crippling panic attacks Lily is a FMC that I think most will probably relate to. When her cousin Jaxson comes by to borrow some tools for his work and sees the state of her and the trailer, he makes her his pet 😏. All of a sudden surrounded by someone who cares for her and keeps her protected Lily can't help but get attached and has to fight the voices telling her lies in her head to enable her to heal.
Quick, fast paced and absolute FILTH. This mans mouth is DIRTY. But it works. Who knew crawling around on the floor like a pet was so encapsulating 🤣. Well done Kins. Proud of you 🖤 the way you made mental health the forefront of this story, even with the family/blood ties and the smut, you didn't take away from your overall message.
It's OK not to be OK. And Kins? I'm medicated and proud too 👊🤌
Heed content warnings for drugs and dark themes involving mental health and others. Lily, the FMC, also has sharing and other smuts scenes with other guys before she got together with the MMC, Jaxson.
We can really see the spiral and dark turn of the story once Lily realizes she was abandoned by her parents, which really seemed out-of-the-ordinary since they loved her and doted on her and were strict, but all of a sudden, pack up and leave her on her own a few weeks before her 18th birthday.
Jaxson, her cousin, accidentally finds out the situation, and tries to help her. Unfortunately, by then, Lily had already developed a small drug habit (pills and weed) and stopped going to school--the complete opposite of how she used to be.
Slow to medium burn for when they finally get sexually involved. There's none of the usual resistant thoughts about being blood related that other taboo books have. Even Jaxson's dad, Lily's uncle, was super accepting and had no problems in the epilogue when they told him they were a couple. A bit unrealistic but ehhhh. This pretty much reads like a regular dark MF book, so for anyone anxious about the taboo part, it almost rarely comes up except for the few times Lily and Jaxson calls each other cousin.
