*Binge the complete series of steamy connected standalones now, including Ensnared by the Shadow King, Imprisoned by the Night King, and Possessed by the Dark King!
Ensnared- He thinks I'm his salvation, but I'll be his demise. Though I manage to get into his court, I learn that he's not as killable as I thought. Our souls seem… connected.
Imprisoned- Before I have a chance to stab my knife into his heart, my soul screams the one word that prevents me from ending Mate.
Possessed- I expected him to torture me, but instead he makes me sleep in his cushy bed, feeds me delicious food, and slips into my mind in an attempt to understand me.
I deeply appreciate how the difficult topics are not shied away from in Lola's books. Be sure to read any trigger warnings in the beginning. That said, there's discussion of the characters surviving torture, various kinds of abuse, neglect, betrayal. Ways the characters cope, how their minds help them survive, and their mental health are all mentioned. Not just in this series, but others. Consent, autonomy, finding ones inner strength and learning how to thrive. These serious topics are so closely interwoven into the stories which also have a generous share of fun, laughter, banter, grumpy cinnamon rolls, stabby females, found and chosen family, second chances, magic, intimacy and spice, and so much more and they always end in a HEA. This story is in the same world as the previous series and has a very brief appearance of three characters from it also.
This series of books is very gripping, emotional, and cathartic. Having survived quite a bit of the abuse experienced by these characters, both the male and female, I almost didn't finish it. I am so glad I did. Watching their different reactions to their experiences, their growth both emotionally and socially, and their ultimate victory in living their lives despite circumstances they had been powerless to control or change was uplifting for me. I highly recommend these books, but be ready for the emotions.
I was hooked (dare I say ensnared) from the first book. It alluded to dark moments with the traumas the characters experienced but I thought it was so well done how the books didn’t focus so much on the trauma but on healing (at least in my opinion). I honestly could not put this down for a second and I’m so glad I picked up the completed series because I can’t imagine having to wait for any of the stories. I am definitely going down the Lola Glass rabbit hole after this and am so excited for it!
I loved how Lola was able to create each individual sisters story here. The first was definitely intriguing, the second was more in depth and the last was just written so beautifully. I loved how they all tied together. And the endings were just as satisfying. It’s hard to find books nowadays that feel complete at the end. But these books definitely did that for me. And I will be 100% buying physical copies for my trophy shelf too.
I've been reading all of Lola Glass's books. I loved this series and the characters. However, I did not like the ending. I would of liked a little more information How did namir and the brothers make up? How many kids did each one of the couples have? It mentions them but doesn't get specific. I would of liked to know those details to feel like the story was completely finished.
Overall I liked this series. It had three very different storylines and sets of characters. There is good character development in most of the plots and the epilogues were cute. I liked how the last book tied into the Kings of Disaster series.
I definitely love this book series. I love how it went through all three couples that explained how the relationships changed and developed into love. Fated mates stories are my favorite. Thank you for bringing these characters to life.
I always love Lola Glass books. Humour, romance and love that requires effort and commitment. I loved each book more than the last and am so happy with the last book of Vena and Laithe.
I really enjoyed being able to pick up all 3 books in your series Night Curse, Now what to read next by this author! Lola, you keep writing and I’ll keep reading! Thank you , I really enjoy your work.
I really liked this series, and honestly, the only reason it gets 3 stars is because I didn't love it as much as others' books. I'm honestly shocked that the third book almost didn't get written. It is my favorite, but honestly, no surprise there, ya girl loves a villain.
Reading a series non stop makes me lose slot of sleep, but this was worth every lost Z. The horrors the women went through made me want to be part of the crew to end their tormentors. Loved the story and the series.
