No Turning Back: The Ways of Black Theology

Rate this book
This book seeks to identify the currents that run though a broad stream of theological reflection that give rise to an ecclesial and ethical tradition committed to the ideals of liberation and human wholeness. While we have recognized that there are many ways this commitment reflects itself, it is undeniable that, in the final analysis, the theological tradition of the Black Church has, at its best, exemplified the Christian faith s commitment to bringing the message (kerygma) of hope to those chafing under systems of oppression and evil. The continuing challenge within the church, and in the larger society, is making real this unique expression of the Christian faith.
