I’m almost thirty and I’ve never… you know.I’ve never even had the desire to do that with anyone. I’m too busy anyway—I have my dream job as a spicy game artist, drawing men in tricky poses all day. Not like I’d ever want to do that myself…
Then I met Tristan.
At first I didn’t like him—he’s bossy, older than me, clearly has money, and looks just like that Kylo Ren guy from Star Wars. But he starts to grow on me.
As we grow closer, the dark secrets of our pasts start to unravel. Can we make peace with each other’s darkness, or will the weight of it all tear us apart?
**The First Time is a 70,000+ word m/m romance novel, featuring a young man with anxiety falling in love with a patient, caring, older man. It’s a slow burn gay romance with enemies to lovers and hurt/comfort themes. There's spice and kink sprinkled in but the focus is on the two MCs developing trust and emotional closeness. Enjoy.**
A fantastic courting romance story. Jackson, has a good life. He has his dream job as a BDSM game artist challenged to draw men in various and complicated poses. He suffers from social anxiety, so dating is not high on his to do list. He is also a virgin with an infinite imagination. Oro, Jackson's friend, is the writer for the game story. Tristan, is a Dom who likes his men submissive. He is different from his brother, Silas from whom he keeps his colorful lifestyle preferences. Tris, has a type of the perfect sub. He stalks them to learn their habits, then he pounces. Tristan views Jackson, differently. This is a sweet story of two men with different histories, dragging different types of baggage with different quirks, getting to know each other. Well paced. Great supporting characters, maybe we'll get their stories later. Watching Jackson and Tristan expand their minds and grow is a treat. Jeremy did an amazing job setting the stage and developing these men. I look forward to reading about more growth. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
"I appreciate how you’re… very open. I feel like you’re giving me the real you.”
I enjoyed this book. The characters were interesting and well developed and felt realistic. I loved that Jackson was a game artist drawing NSFW art. It was fun and unique. I liked the dynamic between Tristan and Jackson. Both men have baggage and this story was a journey. I also enjoyed the supporting characters. 4 stars.
