A keeper. Great cookbook with informative sidebars.

I've found several recipes I would like to try. Fun to read and is a good reference for all things related to Italian cuisine.

My biggest caution is that the ingredients are often obscure and difficult to find if you live in a rural backwater which limits the recipes you could make. However, realistically, I don't make that many recipes from any one book or source but from a variety while still keeping my 1960's Betty Crocker as basic reference.

I purchased a used copy when I returned home from my first trip to Italy last year. While it didn't transport me magically back to Florence, it did help me relive some very special memories. Thanks, Saveur!

The pictures are beautiful, however the recipes are not very enticing. A real disappointment, especially since I adore the Cooking French book by Saveur Magazine Editors.
