Immortals of New Orleans #3

Tristan's Lyceum Wolves

Rate this book
A captivating paranormal romance from NYT & USA Today best-selling author Kym Grosso.

Charismatic and powerful Lyceum Wolves’ Alpha, Tristan Livingston, is out for revenge after a devastating attack on his pack. Not only did he survive a building collapse, he orchestrated the rebuild of his chic, state-of-the-art nightclub within a week. Determined to mete out justice, he rescues a beautiful witness who may be the key to helping him find the perpetrators.

Dr. Kalli Williams, dedicated veterinarian, is hiding a secret that endangers not only her own life but the lives of wolves across the country. After being tortured by a savage vampire, she’s reluctantly agrees to help the sexy Alpha in his quest to identify suspects; ones who’d kill her on the spot if they knew she existed. As Kalli places herself in the hands of the dominant wolf, she soon finds she wants nothing more than to submit.

Tristan, committed to ruling his pack as a lone wolf, is inexplicably drawn to the mysterious and enticing woman, who seems more than human, but not quite supernatural. As he discovers her secret, he teaches her the meaning of trust, helping her learn how to be true to her nature. After living a lifetime alone, will he succumb to the visceral need to claim her, acknowledging the soul binding connection between an Alpha and his mate? And will he prevail against the menacing enemy who threatens to destroy Lyceum Wolves?

Tristan's Lyceum Wolves is the third book in the Immortals of New Orleans series. Although many of my readers prefer reading the series in order, each book is written to be read standalone.

I'm not going to write a full review for this one, because I don't have much to say. I was excited for this installment in the Immortals of New Orleans series, because it focused on Tristan, Alpha of the Lyceum Wolves. He was a favorite character of mine from the two previous books. I went into this thinking that it would be my favorite book thus far, but sadly it was just the opposite.

This was just an okay read for me. It was easy to get through, but nothing about it wowed me. There were parts of the story that were supposed to generate deeper emotions, but really didn't. For example, a character dies in this book. It's a character that supposedly means a lot to Tristan. It could have been a very emotional scene, but we don't really see them interact enough to feel the connection between the two of them. We are told who he is in the beginning of the book. We are told he is important to Tristan, but then don't hear about him basically until he meets his demise. I did feel aggravation when it came to the way they used Mira's character. She is the alpha female, best friend, and lover of both Tristan and his beta, Logan, for over a century. When Tristan's love interest, Kalli, enters the scene, he and Logan find it amusing when Mira becomes hurt and jealous. They find it amusing still when Kalli and her get into more serious confrontations, and Kalli comes out on top. If Mira was their best friend for over a century, I would think they would be a little more considerate of her feelings. It seemed like she was there just to add drama. I honestly feel like I would have liked the story a whole lot better if her character was left out of the story completely. I did like the ending enough to want to read the next book. In fact, that might have been the most interesting part of the whole book. :/

****** E-Book provided by the author, Beta Version ******

I cannot begin to explain how delighted I was when asked to Beta Read this book by the lovely Kym Grosso. I had so much fun discussing all the chapters, the romance and the incredibly clever storyline. So a huge thanks to you, Kym. I had a blast.

This was another fantastic addition to an already wonderful series. Tristan's Lyceum Wolves has everything I look for in a book. A beautifully intense romance that takes your breath away with every touch, every tender word or caress. And a storyline that sucks you in from the start, makes you question every twist, every turn and every new scrap of information that Grosso dishes out. Also, some secondary characters that make you dream of the next book in the series, and which character we will have the pleasure of getting to know better next time.
It really was a brilliant book!

This lady really knows how to write heroines, and Kalli is one of the best out there. I love her strength and determination to survive, no matter what is thrown her way.
I like that it was made clear to us from so early on that she is a fighter. That she will not let any situation beat her. I always like to read about a strong woman. There was such intriguing mystery surrounding Kalli too, which makes the reader want to get to know her better and encourages you to ask questions... Why is she running? Who is she running from and why does she want them to think she is dead? Why is she supressing her wolf, when maybe it could help her, make her stronger? And lastly, how is she connected to the fire at Eden?

Anyone who has read my reviews of the previous books in this series will know that I have had a real soft spot for Tristan since the very first time we met him. His easy humour and seductive charm make me weak at the knees.

'She backed into the counter as he caged her, pushing her body flush against his. "I said… Do. You. Like. What. You. See?" he whispered into her ear, accentuating every word… "I'll take that as a yes," he replied playfully, kissing her ear softly…'

Tristan is the ultimate Alpha. He is strong, confidant, protective, passionate, caring and most of all, fair to his wolves. He doesn’t relish hurting people, but happily metes out a death sentence to any who dare threaten any of his wolves.

Tristan and Kalli are beyond beautiful together. I love their open honesty. Like when Kalli has a nightmare, she asks him to stay with her, to protect her. I like that she admits her fear to him and doesn't mind asking for help when she needs it.
Tristan knows that even after such little time, when he has been hit with something so awful, that he needs her. It's her comfort that he wants, no one else's.
When things heat up between them, he makes sure she knows of his intentions before she leaves…

'She stopped dead in her tracks but didn't turn around. "Yes."
"This isn't over, not by a long shot. We'll finish this later, I promise."'

The intimacy between them was breath-taking at times…

'Tristan gazed into her eyes as he trailed his thumb along the seam of her lips. "I love you too. You're mine as I am yours. You're my mate," he professed as he slid the hard length of him into her slick heat.'

Logan is such a brilliant character. I am fascinated by the fact that he has visions and I cannot wait to read his book :)
His fierce loyalty and dedication are so endearing, he respects Tristan so much, but always pushes the boundaries where he can. Like telling Tristan that Kalli cried herself to sleep the night before, after their argument or how beautiful she looks in the morning. Lol. But one the best things about him in this book was the fact that he already knew that Kalli was Tristan's mate, so he could watch them, knowing full well that they were destined to be together. It was pretty funny.

'Despite his visions, he still wasn't sure whether her nature was good or bad. Regardless, he was certain that the woman they’d just saved was about to rock Tristan's world.'

The deep connection and friendship between Tristan and Logan, for me, is amazing. Tristan loves him so much and wants to share everything with him. I really like that.
And their banter always made me laugh too…

'"You. Her. Dance floor. Oh and the distinct sounds of screaming that only come with hot sex. Nothin' like the sound of 'Fuck me' reverberating throughout the Four Seasons. Classic, bro." Logan slapped Tristan on the shoulder, busting at the seems laughing.'

They have been friends for over one hundred years, and a friendship like that is bound to be stronger than the average bromance…

'"You love him, don’t you?" She blurted out.
"Well now, aren't you the inquisitive one. Come on, Doc. Of course I love him. I'm his second. We're best friends and do almost everything together. It's our way," he revealed thoughtfully.
'

The ménage scene between Tristan, Kalli and Logan was amazing. Logan was involved with them just enough for us to see just how much he cares for Kalli, how much he loves Tristan and how happy he is that they're together. He is grateful that his friend is happy and has found a mate that makes him so happy.
I will, as always be honest. I don't usually like ménages because the lines always seem to be too blurry. You don't know who's in control of the situation, how it's going to play out, or who is going to get jealous and turn it all into a nightmare. That just makes me really uncomfortable. Thankfully, that doesn't happen here. We were aware from the start that Tristan would be in control of everything that would happen that night, and that it would be a one off, he would never share her again, with anyone. That he was allowing Logan to touch her, just this once.
I felt like this scene was the perfect way for Tristan to cement things between the three of them and the new changes within the Pack. I think that Tristan was trying to show Logan that yes, he has a new mate, and that things are going to be different from now on. But he wants to make sure that Logan still knows just how much he means to him, that he still loves him trusts him enough to be sexually involved with his mate. That his love is never going to change, no matter what.
It was really sexy and well written out. I loved it.

As always, the secondary characters give this series that little extra flare, whether you love them or hate them…

Mira is the villain that we all love to hate. She's the bitter, jealous, catty, bitchy woman that your man was sleeping with… before you! She’s the woman that you never want to see again, but hangs around like a bad smell, just to piss you off. LOL. I will admit that I really liked Mira in the beginning, but I knew she was too good to be true and she succumbed to jealousy and petulance. A desperate woman is never attractive.
I am sad to say that she will no doubt be back at some point to cause trouble again.

Leopold, oh how I love him. I'm not even 100% sure why yet. All I know is that he's just so hot, dark and mysterious. It makes me want to know more about him.

The storyline of the drug, CLI, was genius. I don't know how Kym comes up with this stuff, but it was amazing. What I love about this series that that the romance can sometimes take centre stage but then then the main storyline is seamlessly inter-linked. It's just the perfect balance.
I like being made to think how things work and to question what is happening.
This book thankfully does not end in an annoying cliff-hanger, but with a new, surprising situation that makes you desperate to read the next book, and I will be the first in line.

I usually don't review books anymore, but I paid for this novel and really feel I need an outlet right now.

This book has me confused. There is a lot of head-hopping, but head-hopping can be a style choice. Assuming the head-hopping is on purpose, I only had to be prepared for head-hops in the same paragraph. Some head hops are very sudden and caused me to read sections of the story twice, unsure who's POV I was in.

There are a lot of echoed words, and there are even echoed thoughts. Hero would think, "Heroine needs to lie down and rest." Then he would go to the kitchen, speak to the nurse who says, "Bring these to Heroine, she needs to lie down and rest." Why is the nurse's dialogue even there if she's not giving us any information? (Dialogue is paraphrased. I can get exact quotes, if requested, but I'm typing on my phone and it's too difficult right now.)

The characterization is odd. Heroine is rescued by Hero after being tortured. She's afraid, abused, beaten. Yet within 12 hours of knowing each other Hero and Heroine are comfortable enough to walk around half-naked (Heroine with no panties, no pants, and only a short that hits her thighs) while Hero asks Heroine if she likes what she sees. And when Hero's beta shows up--Heroine is scared again. I know what was trying to be conveyed--Heroine felt safe with only the Hero--but it wasn't conveyed well enough to seem real.

Character dialogue is over explanatory and tells me exactly how to think and feel. This makes me feel like I'm reading instead of getting lost in the words and the story. The words got in the way of the story. Which is sad--it has good bones for a story.

But, it is erotica. There is sex and the Hero isn't always touching the Heroine.

So...I'm just still confused and, really, disappointed. I won't buy this author again; I think our writing preferences just don't match.

But. Since I did leave this review, I'm also no longer tempted to return the novel to Amazon. If a movie's bad, the theater doesn't refund your ticket. You just get to tell people not go see the movie.

Sorry. :(

Hell yes! This book was amazing! I'm so excited about this book Im having trouble getting my thoughts in order to write this review. I have to say, this book completely redeemed the series for me after the disaster of Luca's Magical Embrace (*shudders*). Okay, now for the review...

description

Tristan is the Alpha of the Lyceum Wolf Pack in Philadelphia; he is their leader physically and emotionally. As a result, he has a great amount of responsibility in order to keep the pack functioning and peaceful. Things get increasingly complicated for him after his club, Eden, is burned and his beloved snake is stolen. Being the commanding, powerful Alpha that he is, Tristan has a new club up and running a week later. But he is still set on exacting revenge against whoever burned down his club and threatened his pack. Now he just has to figure out who did it, which leads him to Kalli...

Kalli's story does not start out well. She is being held captive and tortured by a sadistic, slightly loony vampire for reasons unknown. Fortunately she is saved by Tristan and his Beta, Logan. But her relief doesn't last long once she finds out they only rescued her to get information on who burned down Tristan's club. Soon Kalli is in danger, and Tristan, consumed with the undeniable chemistry between them, is determined to protect Kalli and destroy the threat to her and his Pack. But Kalli is keeping secrets, and working with Tristan threatens to reveal those secrets and upend her rigidly controlled life, something she cant afford.

I loved both Kalli and Tristan. Kalli was intelligent and strong, working hard to establish her own life after her tragic and horrible childhood. She was also caring and accepting, helping Tristan and opening up to him despite the danger to herself in doing so. Tristan was the ultimate Alpha; strong, domineering (in a good way), and hot as hell. Needless to say, when these to got together it was explosive! For sure one of the hottest books I've read in a while.

description

The balance of romance, hot sex, and plot was perfect. The storyline that brought Kalli and Tristan together stayed strong and progressed throughout the entire book. I had some predictions about who was behind the attacks and where things were heading, but it didn't diminish the story at all. And, I have to say, that ending kept me on the edge of my seat! Kalli and Tristan do get their HEA (yay!), and there's a little teaser chapter at the end. Lucky for me, the next book is already out so I won't be tortured waiting to find out what happens next.

4.5 HOWLING WOLFISH STARS...

This third installment of Ms. Grosso's "Immortals of New Orleans" series, deviates from the first two Vampires and gives us some direct insight on one of the series' best, funniest and wittiest characters...the Were, Alpha Tristan Livingston...tall, sexy wolf extraordinaire.

You get to experience him numerous times in the first two books about vampires Kade and Luca, but this time we get a "wolf's eye" view into the the mind, the life and the pack of the Alpha himself and, I must say, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

This series continues to impress me with new and exciting stories. Each character who gets a book embarks on a journey of discovery, understanding, acceptance, love, mating and lots of action and thriller based twists and turns. Just when you think it is smooth sailing, you get that proverbial rug pulled out from you in the form of a betrayal or other shocking revelation.

Tristan is kind, caring, powerful, authoritative, faithful, loyal, fair and loving and being able to see all those sides of him in his very own book was a complete treat for me, as I enjoyed the journey of Kade and Luca, and was eager to see this series move forward. Kalli had to learn to accept who and what she was, while finding support in the one place she least likely expected...gaining more than she ever thought possible.

This series is best read in the order of the books, as they all commingle and cross reference each other, and it would aid any reader in better understanding what took place before and what is being spoken about. If not, one may find themselves a little lost.

I think if you are a true paranormal fantasy/romance lover, this is a series that will intrigue, delight, engage and leave you with endings that have you saying, "Ugh...what? when does this next book come out?" Ms. Grosso ensures that you are left knowing that there is more to come because she ends her books with something shocking that baits you and gets you HOOK, LINE AND SINKER.

Another complete winner for me in this series. She had me from the first word in Kade's book, and based on the shocking ending of this book, she'll have me on the continuation in Logan's book.

I loved Tristan up until the ménage. I personally believe the ménage was NOT necessary to the story. I personally cannot see an Alpha Wolf in love with his mate sharing his mate in any way. Callie was even uncomfortable with the ménage and let her trust of Tristan lead her which also upset me. The story would have earned 4 Stars without the ménage. The ménage took too much away from my "respect" for Tristan.

Once again a story I could fall into and enjoy without any major distraction other than my own stops to absorb here and there. The characters are as vivid as ever and makes knowing them a pleasant prospect in every book. They have rich and varied lives that could fit in anywhere and with any other people. I can follow and know that where it takes me will always be vastly interesting even with the violence which comes in their world.

Tristan is like any other man wolf or not. He values his freedom and thinks that settling down with one woman will take that from him, he does not give any thought to the fact that a woman might feel the same way. That is what it means to be Alpha, to be adored and obeyed, but not to always look at all sides of things. He and his Beta, Logan, have shared everything for years like their attitudes about finding a mate and on many occasions women.

Tristan wants to find out who fire-bombed his club and is trying to start a territory war. There are a lot of possibilities but he will need to narrow them down and he has only one clue which might help him with that. After getting a new club up and running within a week he hopes that he can now concentrate on that. He is given a lead that does not seem to be going anywhere at first but leads him to more than just the arsonists, but to his true mate as well.

Violence, sex, revenge, abuse, jealousy, betrayal stand right along side loyalty, love, and forgiveness. This is a great installment and I am in love with Tristan and Logan both. If I had to have an Alpha I would take Tristan any day of the week, he is strong and powerful yet tender and sweet. As a second no one can compare to Logan who loves his Alpha and would do anything to protect him. These characters speak to me and make my days a little less dreary when I am immersed in their world.

Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves is the third book in Kym Grosso’s fabulous Immortals of New Orleans series. I have loved Tristan’s character since first meeting him in Kade’s Dark Embrace (the first book in the series) and was so anxious to read his story. Kym Grosso went above and beyond all expectations with Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves. Tristan is the same sexy wolf as he has been, but this time we get to see why he’s Alpha. Tristan is on the search for those responsible for the attacks on his clan and we get to witness his bad-ass “take no prisoners” side. When Kalli comes into the picture you just know his bachelor days are over. The immediate attraction and possessiveness between the two jumps off the page in every scene, and that’s before they sex comes in. The whole story is cram packed with action, steamy sex (including a super hot scene with Tristan, Logan, and Kalli), suspense, and shocking betrayal that made this book my new favorite in the series. The ending sets us up for Logan’s book with a heart wrenching scene that had me in tears, but I won’t spoil that for you, you’ll just have to read it to find out!

Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves is certainly not a standalone book so if you haven’t read the first two books Kade’s Dark Embrace and Luca’s Magic Embrace, don’t read this until you do! Kym Grosso has stormed upon the paranormal romance scene in the past year and has quickly become one of my favorite authors in the genre. If you are a fan of authors such as Jeaniene Frost and Kresley Cole, you will love Immortals of New Orleans!

Tristan - Alpha and Protector of the Lyceum Wolves

What do you do when you’re the Powerful Alpha of the Lyceum Wolves and the woman who set your body on fire and consumes your every emotion is terrified and keeping a secret?

How do you react when she is your mate and your trusted friend helps the very wolves that caused her pain trespass on your land and taken her from you?

Tristan Livingston is the Alpha of the Lyceum Wolves, recently his club has been torched and his sister has been attacked. Determined to find out who is responsible for declaring war on his wolves Tristan is out for blood and will stop at nothing to enact his justice.

Kalli Williams was brutalised by her pack until the day she was strong enough to get away. Obtaining her Veterinary Degree Kalli has used her knowledge and developed a drug that will keeps her wolf at bay and allow her to live as a human and not allowing the supernatural to sense her true self.

When Tristan goes to collect a ‘person of interest’ from Alexandra the female vampire he would rather kill than associate with he is drawn to screams coming from the kitchen he is even more surprised by the beautiful women on the other end of those scream and the overwhelming need he has to protect her.

Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves has a powerful storyline filled with love and loss, anguish and despair. You will find yourself invested in the characters and engrossed by the events that follow.

4.5/5

Well I said in my Review of Luca's book that I loved it more than Kade's but I think this one might have topped both of their's..lol Their was just something about Tristan's raw, sensual, Alpha Maleness that I couldn't get enough of. He had me all melty and warm inside. I also really loved Kalli which is unusual since I read these books for the Alpha Males..lol She was this sweet, animal loving, soft hearted but bad as hell Alpha Bitch and I loved it! The instant chemistry and sexual tension between her and Tristan was burn up the sheets HOT.

The story was fast paced and full of action, sweet sensual scenes and smokin hot take-you-anywhere-because-I-can't-get-enough-of-you scenes. I loved seeing Tris's soft protective side he has over everyone he considers his. I would recommend this story and this series to anyone that will listen. I can't get enough and I can't wait for the next book especially after that little tease of an Epilogue..lol

Go check out my Casting Post to see who I think represents all of these sexy characters. http://alphasauthorsbooksohmy.blogspo...

I love this series!
Tristan's Lyceum Wolves moves at such a fast pace I found myself scooted to the edge of my chair holding my breath more than once. I loved getting to know Tristan better and all the new characters we are introduced to in this book. There is tons of action lots of steamy hot sex and some very sweet love. There is humor and drama (yes I did cry) and an asshat of a bad guy. She adds something new to the genre and makes it all hers.
I am so in love with the people and the world Kym has created I hope it continues on for a very long time.
I highly recommend this book, as I have all the books in her series, you wont regret one moment spent with this series.

Tristan, hot damn what a fine ass sexy Alpha, would love for him to cross my path :). The instant chemistry between him & Kalli just makes the storyline that much better. There are some pretty sexy scenes, loved the characters, loved the way the story progressed. I'm actually sad I'm done, just might have to read it again. And oh my, the set up for Logan's story....Excellent!!, can't wait!!!! Great job!

This was a kick ass Paranormal Romance about the leader or Alpha, of the Philly area, Tristan. His presence exudes power, strength, and sexuality. And right now he is pissed! Someone, werewolf or human, he is unsure, had the audacity to burn down his club last week. HIS CLUB! However with the help of a few higher ups in the city, he has his new club Noir, that he must commence the grand opening of. Even though rage is boiling under his skin, and he is itching to wage a war, he pulls his self through his speech using his charisma and the small sliver of control he has left on his rage. He charms his way with the crowd, and once the socialites are finished, he and his most trusted head to Noir's office for a meeting with the other leaders. It's time for answers, yesterday. And he will get them. As he sits at the head of the table and explains to his audience of leaders what has occurred, he flashes through the only video clips that survived the fire. These clips show a woman, human from what they gather by the blood spilled by the boa constrictors cage that she broke into to grab the snake from the fire. He wants to know, who is this woman? Did she set his club ablaze? And did she have help? During the meeting he is informed someone has come forward with information his "person of interest". He storms from the meeting and speak to the holder of this info.
Kalli has been through hell! Being drained over and over, and the vamp bitch that is draining her isn't even drinking her blood, she keeps spitting it out, saying it's poisoned. But the vampire just keeps coming back, keeping her weak. Her medicine is wearing off, she feels the familiar beast in her begging to be let free, but she has lost to much blood. Come hell or high water, she has to get out of this blood sucking prison. With her last burst of energy, she makes her escape. Only to be caught by some clown? WTH? She is brought into a room with the vamp bitch and two other men, this is her only chance, "Please Help Me! They will kill ME!!!" she prays for salvation.
Tristan is horrified by the way his "person of interest" has been treated by Alexandra. He knew to expect some amount of blood sipping, but the woman on her knees begging for help has been mauled over and over, she is filthy. This is not acceptable. He grabs the woman up and he and his right hand man, err wolf, storm out. He gets her to his penthouse, calls their packs nurse practitioner to help heal this woman, this human woman that he intends on interrogating the hell out of as soon as she is rested, fed, and healed.
To Tristan's astonishment, this woman seems to heal over night, gone is the woman who could barely hold her head up, the woman he feared wouldn't make it through the night. The woman is now flittin' through his kitchen in only his T-shirt singing WHAT? is she singing to eggs? "Eggies, eggies, where are you. Surely he has eggs." he hears her say. "He does." he states. She jumps and turns to him, stuttering about breakfast. And he is trying to one, keep his blood from flooding south at the site of her, and two figure out how in hell she went from as weak as a fawn, to this, well THIS, in his kitchen.
Kalli jumps at the sound of his voice and turns to see (and appreciate, since last night she was to weak too) this man standing in front of her in nothing but a towel slung low around his hips, beads of water still visible from his shower. Sex is pouring out of every one of his pores. His dominating presence makes her fall into the old familiar submissive stance that she hasn't bowed to in years. No! She is a human, she isn't bowing to any leader of any pack. She found her cure, with her regained composure, she stiffens her spine and squares off with mister big, (God he his huge, at least 6 foot 4), mister sex pot, mister charming, wait what? Is he smiling? Oh lord, she is so freaking twisted up inside, but one thing is for sure, she is aroused, damn it she can't help or stop this pull she feels, she is like a moth to his flame.
Oh Tristan caught it, he saw her (very easily) slide into submission. To any other, they may have missed it, but to an Alpha, a seasoned pack leader, uh huh, he saw it, but why? And how? Only a wolf, or one that has spent ALOT of time with a pack could slide that gracefully into the wolf submissive stance. And she not only did, but this little sexy thing nailed it. Then in the next instant he saw her resolve and watched as she pulled her shields up. She has secrets, secrets that he will uncover. Did the medicine she all but had a heart attack trying to convince them to retrieve from her car last night hold any part in her secrets? The nurse practitioner said the bottle and the pills were unmarked. If it is just a generic vitamin of some sort why did it yield the power to take her from the verge of a panic attack to complete calm and rest? No, Dr. Kalli Williams, the Veterinarian is hiding something. And he will find out what it is, and he will get the answers to the questions he is going to ask. He is Alpha, this is what he does. For the safety of the pack, each man, woman, and child in his pack. He is going to uncover every single thing this human is hiding. And he thinks the best way to go about this is to use his charm, his art of seduction. This will be more fun than he thought, thinking back to the torched club's video clips, yep, thing just turned interesting and alot more fun than he originally expected.
This Paranormal romance has everything a reader could ever wish for, mystery, knuckle gripping your kindle anxiety, and sex scenes that make your eyes roll back in your head and your breath hitch and become a pant. I caught myself saying out loud (more than once I gleefully tell you) "Oh shit! really? That's effin' HOT!"
I started this book a little apprehensive, see it's the 3rd book in a series, I was nervous that I'd be lost from the beginning, but no, I not one time felt lost. This is a stand alone book, and what it really did to me, was make me go to goodreads and tag the first 2 books in this series as: to read! Kym Grosso does an excellent job of creating awesome and multi faceted characters and combining it with an OFF THE CHARTS story plot!
This book is one of my all time favorites paranormal romance novels. And I'm usually a fang banger, or vamp groupie, but I'd get on all fours for Tristan ANY DAMN DAY ; )

Description ~

Charismatic and powerful Lyceum Wolves' Alpha, Tristan Livingston, is out for revenge after a devastating attack on his pack.

After being tortured by a savage vampire, she's reluctantly agrees to help the sexy Alpha in his quest to identify suspects; ones who'd kill her on the spot if they knew she existed.

My Review ~

Tristan's Lyceum Wolves is the third book in the Immortals of New Orleans series. Like the previous book, this one starts where Luca's book left off. Many of the same characters are mentioned in this book, but not necessarily on stage. We actually get to meet many of the Lyceum pack, and also get a visit from Sydney's partner, Tony.

This book, is my absolute favorite in the series. I was hooked on Tristan from the moment he stepped on stage in Kade's Dark Embrace. While I really loved Sydney from Kade's book, Kalli is just as awesome and a perfect match for Tristan. Then there is Logan, Tristan's Beta and resident pack seer. I can't wait for Logan's book and to see who ends up being his mate.

This book has a few added twists and turns that really showed off the author at her best. She continually add new aspects to the world of this series, which gives readers something to look forward to in each book. Kym has continued with the same type of pacing and character building from the previous books as well. I've continually likened the series to more of an urban fantasy book, because it actually does read more along those lines. It doesn't have just the relationship buidling as the primary focus of the story's core. There is actually focus on the action/suspense side of the story as much as the romance, even at some points, more than the romance.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can see myself reading Tristan's story again sometime in the near future. I recommend this book for fans of Carrie Ann Ryan's Redwood Pack series and Lauren Dane's Cascadia Wolves and de La Vega Cat series. ~Reviewed by Chris

REVIEW: Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves is the third installment in Kym Grosso’s paranormal Immortals of New Orleans series featuring vampires, wolves, witches and more. Tristan’s story is a wonderful storyline filled with romance, betrayal, heartbreak, and love. The reader was first introduced to Tristan in Kade’s Dark Embrace and his story is well worth the price of admission.

Kalli is our heroine who is much more than human, but her presence in Tristan’s life stirs his wolf into a need that cannot and will not be sated until he has claimed both the woman and his mate. His wolf demands Kalli as its mate but something about Kalli is different-she is hiding in plain site but who and what she is hiding is a mystery. When the truth is finally revealed Tristan (the man) has a difficult time knowing that the woman with whom he is falling in love, is not the woman he was led to believe- and Tristan (the wolf) is more than outraged at the secret she is hiding.

Tristan is the alpha who has earned the respect of his pack as well as other alphas. But when tragedy strikes some of the youngest members of his pack, Tristan is an alpha wolf with a need for revenge-a revenge that may come with a price as the woman he has yet to claim is painfully connected to those who have caused so much sorrow for his pack and his new mate.

Tristan’s connection with Logan (his second in command) is both loving and sensual and as his Beta is welcome in the relationship with Kalli. The Lyceum pack must accept Kalli as Tristan’s mate, and so too, must Kalli accept Logan as part of her new life with the pack alpha. Logan and Tristan have been friends for close to a century and have had each other’s back from day one-they have shared pain and sorrow, as well as the women in their lives, but Kalli is a first for them both. Kalli is Tristan’s mate, but she will become part of Tristan’s friendship with Logan on a visceral level of emotions and love. Her connection with Tristan heightens her awareness of Logan, as he becomes a part of her new life with the pack.

Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves is a well-written, fascinating and sensual look at a powerful alpha who earns the respect of his pack and yearns for the love of his mate. But make no mistake, as the alpha his commands are never to be questioned and any attacks against those he loves, will be dealt with expedience and death. Kym Grosso has written a series that will grab you attention from the very first chapter and Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves is no exception.

This book was WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!! This is my favorite so far in Ms Grosso's Immortals of New Orleans series! Tristan is handsome, sauve, sexy, commanding, confident and HOTTER THAN SIN! He is the Alpha of the Lyceum Wolves, born and bred to lead. When his club is burnt down by his enemies, he is out for blood. Through his connection with the vampires, specifically Kade's sire, he receives a video tape showing a woman entering his club and "taking" his huge yellow boa constrictor named, Eve. Leopold, Kade's sire, assists him in finding this person of interest, a human woman. Or is she?
He has to go into the lair of one of the most sadistic female vampires, Alexandra, who also happens to be Kade's "sister". She has spent 48 hours abusing and terrorizing Kalli, the person Tristan is looking for. Even though she is human, once Tristan lays eyes on her, his world is turned upside down. He knows he cannot mate with a human but his body and soul have other plans. There si just something about Kalli that speaks to his soul and has his wolf howling at the moon!

Kalli is an strong, intelligent, beautiful, fierce woman who has spent most of her adult life forgetting the atrocities that she endured growing up and the last thing she wants to do is be taken in by this sexy strong Alpha. Kalli is carrying a secret that could prove incredibly dangerous for the shifter community, a secret she has spent over two years protecting. As she gets closer to Tristan and realizes that no matter how hard she tries she cannot deny she if falling in love with him, she realized she must tell him her secret. Will her secret tear them apart or bring them closer together? Can she trust Tristan to protect from a past that is sure to take her back to hell?

This story has it all, betrayal, suspense, thrills, a love that withstands all and HOT STEAMY SEX! Throw in some crazy power hungry vampires and shifters that think they have a right to run the world even when they have enough issues to sink the ship and this is a book you don not want to miss!!!!!

I cannot wait for the next book in this series!! Please Ms. Grosso hurry!!!!!

Tristan's Lyceum Wolves is already the third book from this fantastic series. The Where the first two books Kade's Dark Embrace and Luca's Magic Embrace where about the vampires this book is about werewolves. A big change in this series but sertanly a welcome one for me.

Kym did a fantastic job with this story. Tristan's Lyceum Wolves is fast paced with lots of action, our favorite paranormal beings and of course lovable characters that where my favorite from the first page.

Tristan's Lyceum Wolves is about the powerful Lyceum Wolves’ Alpha, Tristan Livingston. Tristan is out for revenge after a devastating attack on his pack (book 2 from the Immortals of New Orleans Series) He neerly survived the callaps of his clubbuilding and is working hard to set up a new place in only one week! Seems very difficult in this world but Tristan does a great job in his.

In his search to find the people who tried to kill him and his wolves, he rescues a beautiful witness from the hand of a evil vampire mistress . He hopes she is the key to helping him find the perpetrators. Of course he probably didn't expects that from the moment he saw her, he new she was his.

The she in this amazing story is Dr. Kalli Williams, a veterinarian in hart and body. trying very hard to hide that she more than just Human. And the means she has invented to keep her Human may just be the thing that is Tristan's biggest problem. Trying to keep things from him and altogether falling in love! Just as the previous books there is a reason why there has to be a one time only threesome to give this story some extra spice!

The only disappointing parts where the abrupt ending and prologue that was not about the main couple anymore. Would have loved to read how they continued their story or would have loved to read something, even a small piece about the previous 2 couples from the first two books! All together an impossible story but certainly one you must read.

*Warning: This book contains several erotic love scenes, including m/f/m menage, and is intended for adult readers only.

Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves is the third book in the Immortals of New Orleans series. It could be read alone without any difficulties, but would be even better if you read the first two novels. Choosing among the trilogy, though, I liked this one the best. From the moment I met Tristan in the first book, Kade’s Dark Embrace, I knew I liked him. He had a fun and sexy personality that really shined in the story. Being the Alpha of his pack means he has to be strong and tough, but he also has a good sense of humor and a caring personality.

Kalli made a great heroine for the book as well. She was damaged with a very difficult past that made her more sensitive than most, but she had a tough streak I really appreciated. I liked that she’d built a life for herself without relying on anyone to help her. When she meets Tristan she’s in a very bad place, but that doesn’t mean she just lies down at his feet. She found interesting ways to assert herself that often left him with no idea how to dominate her. It was a lot of fun watching the two interact. I really thought they great chemistry.

The plot was engaging as well, keeping me on my toes the whole time wondering how things would end up. I thought the first couple of chapters for the novel were a bit slow and there was a bit of an info dump, but once things got going the story really engaged me. The only real complaints I have is an overuse of adjectives and some dialog that didn’t feel natural. If those two things were tightened up I’d definitely rate this one even higher. Kym Grosso knows how to cook up a hot romance and keep you wanting more. The sex scenes were especially amazing. I’ll be keeping my eye on this author. Four whips for Tristan’s Lyceum Wolves!

Note- I was provided a free copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start with I didn't read the first two books in the series. When you're asked to review a book sometimes it works out that way. With that said, I found Tristan's Lyceum Wolves to be a great read. It has an excellent balance of great characters, intrigue and romance that I was more than happy reading. I felt the final battle was a bit rushed but over all I really enjoyed the book.

As the characters go, from the charismatic to the insidious, author Kim Grosso has created some of the best ones I've encountered in a while. Tristian is strong and passionate Alpha as is his Beta, Logan. Unlike in other books I have read their Alpha/Beta relationship seems more of a supportive loving one versus one of a chain of command style. Not often do you read a story where an Alpha will share women or his mate. So yes, there is some M/F/M action but it's mild by this reader's standards and very tastefully done. I feel the true star of this story is Kalli. With all she has gone through, her strength and determination to survive, make her one of the best heroines I have read in a while.

Frankly, I find this book worked very well as a stand-alone and was unsure if I was going to start the series from the beginning. That is until one sentence at the end of the book peaked my interest. Very good job reeling me in Ms. Kym Grosso. Oh yes, this curious reader is now very hooked. I guess I will have to amuse myself with the first to books until the fourth one comes out.

I received this book from JeepDiva in exchange for my honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.

Brilliant

I loved what Kym did with the vampire world. I was looking forward to see what she did with the wolf world. As usual every detail is well thought out. There are never any nagging loose ends in any of her books.

What was brilliant with this story was the play on a "wolf in sheets" clothing. Dr. Kalli Williams is a Veterinarian in Philadelphia whose only wants in life were living a quiet life taking care of animals. Little did everyone know that she was a wolf herself. In order to stay in hiding from an abusive pack, she engineers a drug that not only keeps her from shifting but it keeps her true self hidden making her give off a human scent rather than a wolf scent. See, brilliant!

Kalli ruins all her best laid plans when she is caught on camera going into Tristan's club that is in the midst of burning down making her a suspect in the arson as well has landing herself in the middle of a pack war.

Tristan is the alpha of the Lyceum wolves and is bound and determined to find out who burnt down his club and who is attacking his wolves. The number one suspect is Kalli. He finds himself falling for the human and not sure why. She turns his world completely upside down. Making him lose focus on the task at hand. It isn't until all is revealed that things get really interesting and intensely hot. Like "I need a cold shower" hot.

Kym does a great job of building up the suspense. As a reader I wanted to keep reading to see how this story would unfold. That along with all the action and hot sex scenes made this story one heck of a brilliant ride.

I’ve been caught up in a series, and I don’t want to get out! Kym Grosso’s Immortal’s of New Orleans Series has captured my imagination and hidden desires in ways I would have never thought possible.
Her newest book in the series is about Tristan Livingston, the alpha wolf of the Lyceum Wolves. With his roles in the previous books in the series, Kade’s Dark Embrace: Immortals of New Orleans Book One, and Luca’s Magic Embrace, Tristan’s story is one that I couldn’t wait to pick up and read.

While Tristan’s story is a part of the series, the author does a wonderful job of tying the stories together so a reader that hasn’t read the first two books won’t be lost. But, I bet after reading this story, you’ll be clamoring to get your hand on the previous books to find out what you’ve missed!

Tristan and Kalli’s paths cross when she is suspected of setting his club Eden on fire. Kalli’s secrets threaten to tear their budding relationship apart. Kalli’s past experiences make it hard for her to trust Tristan, but trusting in him is the only thing that will save her life and their future together.

Their story is so hot it sizzles on the page. The characters are so believable. Their relationship and how the story wraps around them pulls you in deeper with each page. This book definitely is a page turner that you don’t want to put down.

If you’re looking to enjoy a paranormal, erotic romp this is definitely the book for you! I know I can’t wait for the next book to hit my kindle! Like I said, I’m hooked and I won’t get out!

Tristan's Lyceum Wolves

Have to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book.
A young woman hybrid (half human, half wolf) raised in an abusive pack, has created a drug that hides her wolf. She just wants to be a regular human. Nothing else.
That works until she sees two (2) men running out of a building, and smells smoke. She is a vet, and since she’s been in this building before, she remembers that there is a snake in there, and goes in to rescue it. She is cut by some glass, and leaves some of her blood behind.
Later she is captured by some local vamps who just want her for food and playing, but her blood tastes foul to them because of the drug she is taking.
Tristian is the local Alpha wolf. It was his building that was burned, and his snake taken. While searching for the people responsible, he is visited by a very powerful vamp who tells him that the woman he has been looking for is with one of his children (Another vamp he created). He promises Tristan that the woman will be handed over to him.
Now the fun begins. Tristan cant understand why she acts like a wolf, but smells like a human.
And then when her apartment is ransacked, and her back up supply of the drug is stolen, she finds that she must tell Tristan the whole truth.
Will he understand? Will he ever forgive her? Is there any way to put things right?
Guess you’re going to have to read it to find out.
Im sure you’re going to love it.

Sexy shifter read with a dash of mystery.

I've been reading a lot of shifter stories lately and this one has really stood out amongst the crowd. You get a great story, with a wonderful relationship build, and fantastic plot. Of, course, there's the insta-attraction (You know how those wolves get when they find their mates) But the physical aspect of the relationship works it's way up at a believable pace. Kalli's a strong character with a terrible past that does sneak in from time to time and weaken her a bit. But once again, this is believable. You can't expect someone with years of abuse to not have some emotional issues. Tristan is an Alpha, with a capital A. Strong, smart, sexy, dependable; pretty much all the makings of sex on a stick ;) Together they make a wonderful pair.

The only things that turned me off a bit, was a menage scene between Kalli, Tristan and his Beta. It was explained that after Kalli's first shift she would be extremely hot (if you get my drift) and it would take more than just a little lovin' to satisfy her need. While I don't have a problem with menages, I just found it to be a little off kilter with the Tristan's alpha ways throughout the rest of the book. Heck, Tristan growled at his Beta, near the beginning, when all he did was touch her shoulder!

I highly recommend this one for Shifter lovers looking for something sexy packed with an emotional punch. - See more at: http://www.bittenbyparanormalromance....

Tristan's Lyceum Wolves is Kym Grosso's latest addition to her series The Immortals of New Orleans. Ms. Grosso has turned up the heat quite a bit in her latest book which I'd classify more as paranormal erotica than paranormal romance. The book is an action-packed adventure and the characters are believable and likable.

Tristan is a charismatic shape shifter who is the leader of a pack in Philadelphia. Followers of the series first met him in Kade's Dark Embrace (book #1). He is suave, sophisticated, wealthy and lethal. What more could Kalli want?
Kalli is a new character. She is a reluctant shape shifting half-breed who's past is haunting her. Can Tristan help her? Of course, he's the alpha. Will he? You'll have to read to find out!

The story continues from the horrific fire at Tristan's nightclub at the end of Luca's Magic Embrace. Tristan and his pack investigate who would attack him and the pack. Their investigation turns up several new characters including the enigmatic veterinarian, Kalli Williams, as well as the vile Gerard, the alpha of a pack in North Carolina. This can't-put-it-down book will keep you on the edge of your seat while Tristan and his pack resolve the mystery.

I haven't read the other 2, but this one was great! I didn't need the previous ones to follow this story, although I am going to go back and read them and if they are anything like this one I'll need to change my panties half way through!
Man this couple was hot! There was a TINY bit of an OW, but not much to matter, especially to this Alpha. Plus, she totally gets her "just desserts" towards the end.
So what's it about? Well, an amazingly sexy ALPHA (who's also rich and...did I mention sexy - oh I did? Okay, good) who was the target of a crime when one of his clubs was burnt down. Of course on camera he spots a sexy woman running in to rescue his....SNAKE! LOL - I know, right? *Mind out of gutter* Shew - sorry. Anyway, so yea, she rescued his snake because she's a VET.
She has a big secret, he has a bigger one (she's his mate) and together they burn up the sheets! Well, and the walls, and tables...
I totally recommend this as a great ALPHA read and damsel in distress. Loved all the characters. If you aren't much for "sharing (menage)", there is a spot in it where it SORT of happens, but I wouldn't really consider it true menage, so don't not read it if you see the m/f/m and are like WHAAAATTT? I know some don't like that.
Anywho, read it, you'll enjoy it :)
