A famously temperamental soccer star, OVIDIO ANGELETTI, has just suffered a terrible Someone has stolen his favorite necklace. Enter AINSLEY WALKER, a gemstone detective who embarks on a journey into the brash heart of Argentinian futból culture. It’s a travel adventure that will change the way you see your life.
More an adventure novel than a mystery, this book had some interesting moments. The protagonist seemed to make some odd decisions, putting herself needlessly in harms way and then magically getting herself out of trouble.
The perfect book for down time. The chapters are short enough to read while in line or waiting for something or someone, but you may find it hard to turn off your kindle. The story, setting, and characters all entice further reading. I very much enjoyed Ainsley Walker as a detective (I had not read the previous books but now plan to). The views of Argentina made me feel like the author had been all the places she described. And the mystery itself was intriguing. I also appreciated the information about rhodochrosite, about which I knew nothing. J.A. Jernay's writing style made for very easy reading. All in all, a quite enjoyable book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it.
This is a very good adventure story in the quest for the Rhodochrosite, which acts more like a good luck piece for the best soccer player in Argentina. While is this part of a series for the main character Ainsley, one doesn't have to read the other books in the series to enjoy this fast paced, entertaining novel.
A very dry book. I was about 60% through when it finally got interesting. Initially I wasn't going to read anymore in this series but the last 40% was good enough that I'll try the next book in the series to see if I like it.
The Argentina Rhodochrosite is an interesting travelogue and an entertaining mystery. The book should have 3 stars, but the editing/proofreading was poor. There were a lot of spelling mistakes and some gramatical errors.
The Argentina Rhodochrosite (An Ainsley Walker Gemstone Travel Mystery) by J.A. Jernay... A walk through the country of Argentina with the passion of the country Football. Entertaining Travelogue rather than a mystery theme.
