Another excellent Season!
Cass Merton is living her dream as proprietor of a B & B called SeaSong, but as she hits the big 4-0, she feels like love is passing her by. Her mother's mind is failing, but her four brothers and their father act like it isn't as serious as it is. And on top of that, she's got her teenage niece and nephew for a year while their parents are on assignment in Saudi Arabia.
Dan Harmon is at loose ends for the first time in his life. After surviving 911, he realized that work alone isn't satisfying. He follows God's leading to Seaside, where his family lived (his father was the pastor of the local church) and specifically to SeaSong.
Dan finds himself drawn to Cass and yanked into her world of hospitality and family drama. In turn, Cass, who's always felt like she was too tall and too solidly built, is drawn to the bigger and even more solid Dan.
I enjoyed watching Cass navigate her role as part of the "sandwich generation"- dutiful daughter and surrogate parent- while learning to take just a little time for herself when she can- with Dan. Throw in a mystery surrounding Cass' hired help Brenna and this was a great read. Looking forward to the fourth Season.
