Alice Severin is the best-selling author of the Access trilogy - Access All Areas, Access Restricted, and Access Unlimited. Nowhere in Two Places was released a few years ago now.
Touch Memory is the newest release. Set in the world of professional top-flight soccer, it explores the relationship between two major players. Walking a line between denial and risk brings them dangerously close to losing everything.
Based in New York City, her in-depth interviews with a wide range of new and well-known musicians earned a large following. Now in pandemic mode and wondering what comes next.
I can not stop thinking about these two books. Labeling them as just contemporary romance does not do them justice. I read a lot, too much probably, and when I'm reading a typical contemporary romance, I find myself just wanting to get to the end, often times skipping from dialogue to dialogue and missing, or rather not caring about the in between. This book was the opposite, yes the conversational banter was fantastic, Lilly was an intelligent, strong, quick witted heroine, who would not back down to intimidation. The intimate scenes between Lilly and Tristan were hot and addictive but this series was so much more then just their relationship. I loved the interviews with people from Tristan's past. Much of this book read like articles from Rolling Stone Magazine, so descriptive, you could see it and smell it and hear it and feel it. I loved the stream of consciousness writing in some places "I thought of airplane fuselages, and seats, and people taking off, and dark eyes looking out on to darkening skies" I will be reading whatever Ms Severin publishes. Truly, two wonderful books that I hope make it to print, because I would love to have this series on my shelf, to reread and reread.
have to say it's sometimes hard to pick up the second book in a series when you read the the first one so long ago- Most of the time it comes flooding back but this one took me a bit longer to remember.
It was hard to get into the second half right away. I found myself skimming parts because all they were were descriptions of places. I know that sounds bad but it was too much, for me anyway, I don't need 2-3 paragraphs to get the feel for somewhere or every detail about a place. I really wanted to get down to Tristan and Lily and where they were going. I started to enjoy the book much more mid way through. Lots of info was revealed about Tristan's past. It seemed like things were headed in a wonderful direction for Lily and Tristan the big night of the concert was sure to be the test as to where their relationship was going. All I can say it was an Epic blow up! Guess I didn't see it coming I was holding out for the warm fluffy happy lovely ending to that night~ Nope! I was proud of Lily and the way she handled it.You never knew who to trust in this book. Hot steamy sex - not a ton. The ending was good I would have loved more of an Ever After in the Epilogue but it still was Fabulous.
Quotes:
"With just one little flaw-he was like every other man in the universe and he wanted his woman to be airbrushed and flattering, distant, cold and pretty like a china doll. My canvas was a little too rough. I cared a little too much. "Try not giving a f**k" worked really well. Too bad I could only pull it off intermittently."

Jenny: Well Gitte, I don’t know about you but I’m nursing an emotional hangover even after talking AR through with you after we finished it. I felt like I was reading this with a piece of concrete sitting on my chest, my heart felt so heavy. I think I felt every conflicted emotion Lily experienced, and even though it drained me, I loved that it made me feel so much.
Gitte: Absolutely Jenny, I don’t think I have felt so emotionally drained in a while after finishing a book. The only thing I can liken it to is the feeling of melancholy, which I pretty much felt throughout the story.
Jenny: Alice’s writing feels somewhat poetic at times. I’ve said before that spending time in her books really does feel like I’m joining a Rolling Stones reporter on assignment. She has a way of transporting me into the music scene and making me feel like I’m right in the thick of it. At times it felt so real I thought I might be able to reach out and actually touch Tristan, shout a song request to him, it was like I was part of the crowd and it was absolutely mesmerizing. I felt the highs and lows Lily and Tristan experienced and I felt every pitfall and disappointment they encountered. I really was along for the ride, right beside them.
Gitte: There is something real special about Alice’s writing for sure. She has amazing originality and I’d say she really has a unique voice. The writing is intense, intelligent, questioning and extremely authentic. So much so that you have to remind yourself to slow down and catch a breath because the way her words hit you would get lost whilst it draws out the extreme of your emotions. Her descriptive writing is exact to a fault so that you see it play out in front of you.
Jenny: I have to say though I felt the first 50% of this book did move pretty slowly and I do wish there had been a little more dialogue in the early chapters so I could have really “felt” Lily’s emotions rather than “hearing” them. Don’t get me wrong, we are still afforded the impact of Lily’s feelings through her inner dialogue, we still experience her confusion, passion, desolation, sadness and her occasional highs, but I would have loved to have seen her verbalize to Tristan a little more of how she was/wasn’t coping. Lily has definitely grown in this book and is slowly learning how to deal with her relationships and the people people around her more adeptly, but you really do feel her inner turmoil and struggles and at times, her utter devastation. Whilst she is still questioning everything about her relationship with Tristan, you do somehow feel that little by little she is making headway into understanding this complex man who has stolen her heart. My heart absolutely ached for her throughout. I adore Lily and and I love seeing the occasional show of strength she brings to the fore as she makes her way through this narcissistic world.
Gitte: I have to agree with you Jenny, through the first half of this book I was wondering when we were going to get to a place where we learnt more about Lily and Tristan through their dialogue and actions. It did move very slowly and I felt I wasn’t re-connecting as quickly as I wanted to, seeing as I have been hanging for this sequel. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely felt every emotion Lily felt and agonised with her. I felt her pain as her overwhelming sadness, isolation and loneliness leapt of the pages. She did have her confident and strong moments, but on the whole this girl is so lost, it’s as if she hasn’t found her place in the world and I felt completely lost with her. I despaired for how she beat herself up at times and despite being an extremely intelligent girl, her rationale at times floored me and made me tear up.
“..Empty. Waiting. Alone. And possibly forever moving on from floor to grave. Thinking like that, thinking of what could go wrong, the isolation of sitting in some perpetual shade…” – Lily
“…he’ll still be pulling the girls when you’re telling the story drunkenly to your flat mates as they creep out, leaving you passed out in your own aging memories.” – Lily
She had guts though and she really did herself justice when the situation warranted it.
“And I made up my mind that I would do everything I could to make him happy, and when it ended, as it was bound to, I’d just feel f**king lucky that I’d had any part of him in my life.” – Lily
Jenny So Gitte, we join Lily and Tristan where AAA left off. Lily about to join Tristan in London to report on his comeback tour. Their relationship needs to be kept on the down low…easier said than done when you’re as famous and mysterious as rock god, Tristan Hunter. Everyone wants a piece of him and everyone has a story to tell and it up to Lily to report and be able to decipher the truth behind all the dark rumors and innuendo that constantly surrounds Tristan. Every step she takes reveals a little more of the the complex man who has stolen her heart, but is it everything she wants to hear? Hearing Tristan’s story through the interviews broke me at times. I felt so much for this closed off, unfathomable man. How about you Gitte?
Gitte: I have to say that learning about Tristan second hand through her interviews; getting an insight into this enigmatic man was very emotional for me also. One scene actually made me cry and I felt like a vital piece was uncovered and I got closer to understanding why and how. However, I have to say that I am not really any closer to understanding Lily, I am desperate to; I need to. I understand many of her actions but not her thought processes; I want to know where they came from originally…what shaped her thoughts? Her way of thinking? Her irrational paranoia? I am hoping book #3 will help me understand.
“..I’d never met someone before who was so desperate to be loved, while being loved by almost everyone he met.” – Lily about Tristan
Jenny: Tristan Hunter, is still the complex, confusing beautiful man we met in AAA.
“and then there was the man himself. 6’2”, dark hair, long legs, a rock legend in leather, with a stare that could make you want, hard, or make you back out of the room” Lily
I really do love this talented, soulful, conflicted, profoundly beautiful man. As revelations of his past emerge and we begin deciphering the truth from the mystery that surrounds Tristan Hunter, and you feel so much compassion for him. My heart went out to him but at the same time, he also made me so angry at him for what he put Lily through. A time or two I felt Lily’s utter heartbreak and was pissed at him for some of the choices he made that so affected Lily. Tristan is one confusing man. His words and actions don’t always acquiesce and I found him a such contradiction at times. This man has so much depth and so many demons, but these demons must be faced and released if Lily and Tristan are to be given a chance at a relationship. Deep down he knows Lily is the woman for him, but is he willing to trust his own feelings and those of Lily’s and take the leap required to move forward?
“That’s it. You see all of me, but you finish at my eyes. Like you know that’s where what you’re looking for will be” Tristan
Gitte: I think the past has made Tristan question everyone’s intentions albeit with some unfortunate exceptions which he seems to just accept if they are from his past. Tristan continues to intrigue me; he is so complex; shaped by his past. I absolutely love this guy but I cannot tell you all the reasons why because I don’t even know myself. Yes, we have the obvious of him being a talented, beautiful rock star. He is controlling to a point yet vulnerable, playful and questioning too. It is as if he wants to test Lily to the point that he feels he can reconcile his feelings and accept hers in return. He made me cry, he made me laugh and he made me want to give him a good slap! Tristan and Lily will be forever chasing the happy ending unless they face their past, open up to each other and realise that both of their intentions, feelings and love is genuine and not self-serving.
“…there was something desperate in his touch. I held him as tightly as I could, until he finally, slowly let go. He looked at me, a world of emotion in his eyes..”
Jenny: The run home in this book really sold it for me. It broke me, it left me emotionally drained and it made me sad, but there were many moments of hope and I can’t wait for book three to see where Alice takes this story. I’m looking forward to having questions answered, unraveling the intriguing Lily and demystifying the unique Tristan Hunter. I need to know that everything is going to be okay for them and that they can find their way. Book three can’t come quick enough for me.
Gitte: The last half of the book saved this story for me. I could not stop reading and inhaled every word wanting them to reach each other on a level that would save them. My heart aches for them both and I want their hurting to stop and for them to find them-selves and each other.
Book two in the Access All Areas series and here we get to dig deeper into those rumours relating to Tristan (I want to know did he do IT with AC?!!) Anyhow I have been in a book “love-in” with this series. A weekend full of Tristan and Lily, with a little intermingling of Trevor who in my eyes is the backbone of this book and my hero! Any way I digress….
So Tristan left us with the cliff hanger at the end of the first book with that text to Lily. OMG where is this going to go? Well …..London baby! Yes Lily is to accompany Tristan on his UK tour of his solo album to do a full write up but also research for a possible book about his early career with his band, Devised. Will she find out if the rumours were true about his ex-wife (the biatch!) and Paul? Was it for real what he did with AC? (I was kind of cheering for that one, yay!) Whatever she uncovers in her interviews with the people who were around at that time – would this have an impact on their newly discovered relationship? Would it cast a shadow over everything they had built so far?
Oh I have loved this series so far, totally hooked. In this book there is a lot less sexy time but no way does this detract from the powerful storyline that has you dipping and soaring every emotion you have. It was so sensual and heart wrenching. I had a physical ache in my heart at certain parts that had me reaching for the tissues. I just want to shout out all the best bits where they happened but that would give most of the book away and I hate spoiler reviews. But OMG it was soooo good.
The secondary characters were strong and really gave this book backbone. I had issues with her manager, Dave (but underneath I guess he was OK) and his manager, James (what a nasty piece of work – I just wanted to bust his balls off!) But it was Trevor, oh the wonderful Trevor who I just wanted to hug HARD. He was the hero of this book for me and took everything that was being said, everything that was happening and just made it make sense. He was one of those guys you just gravitate towards who can make things happen. He was Tristan’s producer who had been with him since the early days and had helped Tristan through his dark times after the breakup of his marriage and ultimately his band. It was through this interview Lily has with Trevor we learn so much about Tristan.
Then just when you think everything is working out to reaching a wonderful ending, Aghhh! It all gets smashed to pieces. It happens on the opening night of Tristan’s first concert in London where outside influences put a massive spanner in the works. I’ll just say it involved the ex-wife and his ex-band mate but others were also in there with their own axe to grind. Frustrating!
Don’t worry the ending is eventually good (phew!) but not fully concluded. This carries on in the next book where the tour begins. I love being on the tour bus! Please Ms Severin can I book my slot in one of the bunks now?
Absolutely loving this series and totally recommend.
I feel like I've just been at a rock concert that was way better than anything I ever saw in San Francisco in the day. Alice Severin had me from the opening drum beat, and I've been loved and betrayed, high and happy, crying, confused and completely satisfied. My heart is beating everywhere. The experience went deep to the heart and mind, and I want encores that go on forever. Like music you connect to it's hard to pin this book down. It's words on a page, but the words are buzzing, creating characters I love and despise, who confuse me and mess me up and leave me wanting more. I've been angry, melancholic, bitter, betrayed, loved, teased and everything up the scale and down. ... So, well, now you know, this book sure made an impression on me.
Tristan, the rock god, and Lily, music addict and journalist, have been messing with my mind (and with each other). What does Tristan want? Why does he crave trust and destroy it? How can he be so smart and yet surround himself with people who mess him up and are out to manipulate him? And Lily? I finally really liked her in this book. You see her doing her work and you know she's good at it. She's sensitive to people she interviews and her standards are high. I loved her interview with Tristan's first music mentor, Trevor, and sniffled myself when I heard about Tristan's past. You find that Lily can be an adult and behave like a grown up, which is such a relief after the emotionally needy, weepy, tongue-tied "little girl" we lived with in the first book. Honestly, in Access All Areas, I wondered what Tristan saw in Lily beyond her emotional intensity and willingness to be sexually adventurous. But, wow, she's a life force now, though still about as emotionally scattered as any likeable character I've encountered. She seems bent on sabotaging herself and denying her feelings, even when she's committed herself both emotionally and intellectually.
Most of this book is about two people who want to love and care for each other but who just can't seem to believe in themselves or each other enough to do it. I hope they learn to do so in future books. As Access Restricted ends, they seem to be on the way, and I won't be willing to let them go until they get there. If it takes another few books for them to get to their own HEA, that works for me. (I'm a big fan of Alice Severin as a writer. It's a pleasure to relax with a writer who has mastered the mechanics and writes like a dream. Alice is one excellent writer, and far better than many contemporary novelists with huge numbers of readers. There are points when I vowed I'd read the phone book if she wrote it.)
Something else to just mention: sexually Tristan and Lily are already hot and deeply attracted and are so great together. They've got great sex going for them. I hope they get the chance to be true lovers too.
Can't wait for the magic to happen in the next book. I hope it's ready soon.
I enjoyed this book a bit more than the first. Lily in the first book, was not a character that I could connect with. She did things that most heroines don't really do in books and I wasn't impressed. I felt the author was trying to allude to the act that Tristan and Lily shared some kind of common inner turmoil but truly couldn't figure out Lily's deal. The dialogue seemed incredibly fast and annoying often throughout the story. There was way too much descriptive narrative. Who cares what fabric and color the curtains were in Trevor's office or how his cuffs links looked!!??
I did end up really liking Tristan more in this second book and even Lilly. She seemed to get more of a backbone and finally I felt like there was something more to their relationship than just hot kinky sex. There definitely was more sexy time in the first book than this second one but I'm just glad that we got a chance to see this relationship truly develop into a loving one.
I was really looking forward to the next part of Tristan and Lily' s story, but was disappointed. They spend very little time together. Lily spends her time working on the article and hearing things about Tristan she should be hearing from him. Then there is no discussion on what she learns. There is no communication between them and I felt there should have been more explanation when Tristan and Lily find each other at the end. I was also hoping to learn more about Lily and that never happened. If there is a 3rd book maybe things will be explained.
EPIC!!!! If you haven’t been reading Alice Severin, YOU SHOULD BE!!!!!!!
CRAZY SEXY, BEAUTIFUL, INTENSE, PURE ARTISTRY
I thought Access All Areas left me awed…….. Access Restricted rendered me speechless!!!!
The epic rock love story of Tristan and Lily continues with even more beautiful prose and an amazingly crafted storyline……..
There are books you read and books you savor. Access Restricted is one you savor. I found myself reading slower just to make sure I took it all in – every word Alice Severin writes has meaning and purpose.
I have never been this totally consumed and emotionally invested in a book before (let alone a series). Ms. Severin has a way of making you feel like you are part of the story - she doesn't describe the surroundings she makes you feel them. She paints a picture so vivid that I felt every emotion Lily and Tristan experienced.
We knew this book would reveal secrets of Tristan's past. There are a lot of people that don't want to see them together, and Lily will find out painful and heartbreaking things first hand. She will need to decide for herself what to believe and who to trust. But, surprising, Lily finds and ally among the enemies to help her navigate Tristan’s past.
Amid of all the concerts, interviews, and craziness Lily and Tristan struggle to keep their relationship alive. Their NEED for one another is deep seeded. Their powerful connection and passion still runs hot as ever. But, their vulnerability and past experiences come back to haunt them. And, Lily’s self-doubt and second guessing will impact her decisions and actions.
Tristan and Lily are both still damaged and flawed, but through the interviews, I now feel like I know Tristan and even understand him. We still don’t know Lily’s story. I’m still struggling to understand what makes her tick. I get why Tristan reacts the way he does; but, Lily’s actions sometimes seem rash and desperate. I’m dying to know her story!!! (perhaps in book 3?????)
The turns the story took were interesting and REAL. The realness and genuineness of Lily and Tristan make them so likable that you will be rooting for them at every turn.
And, that ending!!! One of the most amazing EVER! I LOVE IT!
My emotions have been put through the ringer with this one. I’m emotionally exhausted but completely satisfied. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Tristan and Lily in book 3.
If you haven’t already gone over to Amazon and one-clicked The Access Series you MUST!
An Alice Severin book is unlike anything you will ever read!!!! She is an incredible storyteller with a very rare gift for prose.
"You see all of me, but you finish at my eyes. Like you know that's where what you're looking for will be." - Tristan
Access Restricted, the sequel to Access All Areas, picks up with Tristan Hunter, gorgeous rock star, and Lily Taylor, rock journalist, as she accompanies him on his comeback tour to London. This book explores the perils of fame and superstardom as people close to both of them try to tear them apart. (Plus Lily has her own insecurities to deal with.)
We are in a total book hangover after finishing his book. My heart was in my throat and I felt totally drained while reading most of this book! I absolutely love Tristan and I loved the author's exploration of behind the scenes in the rock world and in the music industry. Alive Severin has the most gorgeous writing style, I enjoyed every word.
I don't know how Ms. Severin does her research but she really puts the reader right in the middle of the journalism and music industry. She is an incredible storyteller.
I loved getting inside Lily's head and was yelling at her not not be so insecure. Tristan is an incredible character, a sensitive, tortued musician.
This is really a story of betrayal, trust and forgiveness, I loved the journey that Alice Severin took us on with this book. Almost everyone we meet in the book (except for a few people) has an ulterior motive.
LOVED the sex scenes; they are HOT. There is a very powerful connection between Tristan and Lily. I did not want this book to end. It is going on my top 10 of 2013. And it's only January!
We can't wait for Book Three.
"Don't ever believe the people who said they never did anything for power money or power or position, when they are in positions with money and power." - Tristan
AAA and AR have left me in a whirlwind of utter amazement and speechlessness so excuse me if this review is all over the place.
Alice pulled me in right away and I didn't stop to breathe. I was in awe at how much my brain kept trying to rush ahead and I had to keep telling my brain to slow down or I knew I'd miss something. Everything. These books pull you in like it's you this is all happening to. I. Love. Lilly's self-talk and seeing her thoughts spelled out so clearly. At times I wished she'd used her voice more with Tristan but then that takes away the aspects of how their relationship flowed--the push and pull from their fears. I can not wait for the 3rd book--maybe we can get a title??!! A support group is definitely in need here--who's down? Alice. Amazing. Artistry.
I was so looking forward to this book, but it didn't live up to my expectations. For me, it was very slow. Nothing really happened for the first 75% of the book. Spent way too much time in Lily's head with description after description of things that were meaningless and boring. There was very little of Tristan and Lily actually together. I will probably read the third book if there is one to see how the story plays out, but this one was definitely a disappointment. The last 25%of the book is the only reason it gets 3 stars.
Loved this book! Even better than the first in the series. I'm so drawn to the author's writing style because it is so very emotional. I felt Lily's joy, indecision, fear, shock, sadness, betrayal, and indecision. I could feel my own heart beating in my chest at certain points in the book. I think it helped that I re-read book #1 prior to diving into this one. So glad that I did. Although it didn't end in a cliff hanger, there definitely seems as though there will be a book 3. Can't wait!
3.5-4 Stars. I really enjoyed Tristan and Lilly's continued story. I like both H/H and the chemistry that the author has developed between them. Lots of hot and steamy scenes can be found in this book, along with a little romance, angst, and heartache.
I do think that the story was a little slow at times, simply because so much focus and detail was included in the politics of the backside of the music industry. I loved the story and the characters but found myself skipping over most of the industry explanations. I would have liked more focus on Liliy and Tristan instead .
I hope their story continues and another book will soon be released. The way this one ended,I think it is definitely wide open to keep their journey continuing.
I actually really enjoyed this book. A lot of people give it criticism because it is in-depth with the music scene, it is "slow", etc. For me, it was perfect. Not really a "erotic" story but definitely a romance. The details in the book are spot on with the rock and roll lifestyle. Some are upset that Lily learns a lot about Tristan via third person and not directly from him; however, if you step back, I can understand why he choose to have her learn the, well, unsavory, parts of his past from an outsider. That way, it couldn't be tarnished and she could not accuse him of leaving something out or blowing things out of proportion to scare her away. It makes sense in a way. I enjoyed how it ended as well, and am looking forward to the third book (please tell me there is a third book)!
I inhaled this book because I enjoyed Access All Areas so much. I like Alice Severin's writing style because she takes her time to develop her characters, not having them rush into the dramatic situations. Her through description of each scene gives me a good visual.
I do think she goes a bit overboard on some descriptions, however. I didn't need overly specific details about every place she was going or every song Tristan was singing. I found myself skimming over those parts.
Overall, I really like this book and I'd recommend you give it a try!
This book had a really hard time keeping my attention. I read it because I want to know how Tristan and Lilly's love story ended but I felt like all I got was a complete narrative of Lilly's emotions and exact descriptions of everywhere she went. There was an illusion of more back story and mystery on both of the main characters parts but you only get a small part of Tristan's and none of Lilly's. As far as steamy sex scenes there were like 2 kind of a let down compared to book one or maybe I was so bored I missed them. Overall it was a let down for me.
I'm WAY behind on reviewing this book (sorry Alice) but I can't tell you enough how much I LOVED it! I love the way Alice writes! Even reading the synopsis again made me all tingly, LOL! Tristan on tour, Lily documenting his comeback....hiding their relationship, fighting the past. I got so attached to these characters in book one I was literally wanting to knock people out of the way while reading this book just so they could have their happily ever after. Lily just gets Tristan & Tristan needs Lily. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READ!
Hmmm I don't really know where 2 start I liked this book a lot more than the first still think I m missin bits but there story was better in this 1 still the love story of Tristan who is still so sexy an lily who is still confussin but I like her more now but I wanted 2 now more about her an why she was the way she was I m hopin there's goin 2 b another book cause it could go one 4 another but over al good book xxx
Its like a car crash you just cant seem to pull your eyes away from the oncoming collision Love Trevor Like Lily and Tristan together and the confidence she gains from the growing self knowledge as a result of their relationship HATE the bi-sexual thing with AC & pretty much think I'm going to barf if anything happens between him & Tristan
Once again to much detals that really could have been omitted from the book, but I also found that in ths there should have been more is certian spots that would have made the book read more interesting.
This book was a live/hate experience for me with the scales tipping into the love part. Overall opinion: I would recommend it especially as book 2 got better. I am sure I saw news of a book 3 (?) which I shall eagerly await.
OMG I'm so happy I decided to read book 2 after being a little disappointed in book 1. The angst and mood of this book had me hooked, I couldn't put this one down!
We picked up right where we left off in Access All Areas. Lily is about to go to London to do her piece on Tristan and his history, and Tristan, is well.. he's Tristan.
I loved getting to see a more open and honest (sometimes) version of Tristan, and there were parts of the story that had me almost crying, especially when Lily was talking to people from his past. Tristan is the epitome of a broken rock star and his character really shows this.
We got to see a lot of good and a lot of bad in this story, and I think that's what made me want to devour this book. We got Tristan's back story, got to meet people from his past, and saw Lily continue to struggle with who she was and what she wanted. I loved the push and take of her and Tristan's relationship, even though sometimes I wanted to smack both of them so they would see what was in front of them.
I will admit, how Tristan handled some things, really pissed me off. He's all about making sure that Lily trusts him, but when it's his turn to trust, he doesn't do it willingly and almost screws everything up. I was glad that Lily didn't just jump right back into his arms, but I could tell that Tristan really felt bad for what he did and how things played out.
There are some scenes in this book that will have you laughing out loud, and others that will have you tearing up and others that will have you screaming. This book is an amazing read and will have you wrecked after reading it.
I don't know what to think. really. I was like "????? wtf?". First of all, she is one immature woman and alcoholic. She cant face the life itself and she is a coward. I don't know what happened to her earlier in life, but I don't care really. Tristan. Well he is spoiled and obviously charming and he know it. I haven't felt love and chemistry between them expect those part of sex on public place but that pretty exciting itself, when you think of it. It so cold and distant, that relationship between them, they haven't work for it, they didn't talk enough, they haven't spend enough time together. I don't really know what are her qualities are, as a person, as a woman, except she is willing to have sex with him. It nothing more that some weird relationship between groupie and a star.
Well this was a rollercoaster ride of epic proportions. Sometimes I felt like she was trying too hard to be clever and witty. Lots of self inner monologue that got droning after a while. Tristan is the bad boy of rock and roll. And has the ghosts and demons to prove it. Lily is a good girl, somewhat. She does her fair share of coke and drink. But she loves Tristan. I almost felt like the author was trying to add a post-modernist spin on it. Just almost. I enjoyed the book enough, in fact, I really liked it a lot, but some of it felt forced.
I;d give it a 3.75... lol... I was really looking for a bit more interaction between Tristan and Lily. Lily was in her head a bit too much for my liking. I did enjoy the book and feel there is a great set up for a #3 (hopefully) with more Tristan and Lily. They are soo similar and I would love to see how that all comes into plat as they work on a relationship!
