This is a pen name for Jill Myles.

Jill Myles has been an incurable romantic since childhood. She reads all the 'naughty parts' of books first, looks for a dirty joke in just about everything, and thinks to this day that the Little House on the Prairie books should have been steamier.

After devouring hundreds of paperback romances, mythology books, and archaeological tomes, she decided to write a few books of her own - stories with a wild adventure, sharp banter, and lots of super-sexy situations. She prefers her heroes alpha and half-dressed, her heroines witty, and she loves nothing more than watching them overcome adversity to fall into bed together.

Dark Broody Cranky Male …… CHECK
Sexy and Scarred ……. CHECK ( some women find scars sexy)
Billionaire…….. CHECK
Virgin Hero…… CHECK

WHAT…..

He is a virgin....
Say what??

Wow Holy Hotness
Who would of thought a Scarred Billionaire Virgin would get me hot and bothered!

First and foremost do not, under any circumstances let the fact that the hero is a virgin sway you from reading this.
Cause let me tell you ladies you will want to meet Hunter.

It is really quite erotic reading about a grown man and his first time.

Hunter is a recluse, hiding away from the world. Scarred from an accident when he was young, he has kept himself closed off.
Closed off from the world.
Closed off from the thought that anyone would want anything to do with him when his face looked the way it did.

Gretchen is a writer and one hell funny chick.
With bills piling up she takes a job offering her lead writer. The job entails writing a story based off love letters found in an old mansion.
She takes it on, even with the strange request that she is to stay in said Mansion, as the letters are not to removed from the house.

Hunter first met Gretchen when he overheard a conversation between Gretchen and Brontè in the last book.
He became intrigued with her, and comes up with a plan to have her in his house with the hopes of getting to know her and having a friendship.

While they slowly and awkwardly get to know each other,
Gretchen starts to feel more towards Hunter and yet finds it really frustrating that they can't seem get past the awkwardness of it all.
She soon realises that Hunter really is shy and she is determined to break through, even if that means coming on to him.

You could feel the pull she had on him and how he would push away… Afraid.
But with persistence she finally broke through.

description

Slowly she would introduce a new level of touching or foreplay.
Each time he would struggle within himself then pull away.
Soon she realises that he is a virgin.

~ He flinched and pulled away.
She released him from her mouth and shook her head
"I like it when you touch me. Show me what you want. Please, Hunter." She let her lips rest against the head of his cock, looking up at him and waiting.
The look in his eyes was a mixture of frenzied longing and.... Something else. Anxiety? She wanted to make that look go away, but it would take time.  For some reason, sex made the man skittish. She had to be patient.~

Yes, at times he was awkward BUT it was SUCH a freaking turn on to read him go through the motions of experiencing what most young males go through in their teens.
For me it was believable and oh so right.

description

The build up was H.O.T
The not quite sex was H.O.T
The first touch was H.O.T

~He looked down at her in wonder and ran the backs of his fingers over her bare skin, then leaned into the kiss the swell of her breast.
She moaned in response " That feels so good, Hunter. More."
He licked her flesh, pushing aside the cup of her bra and revealing  her aching nipple.
"Tell me what to do - what pleases you?"
"Just keep doing that," she told him, running her fingers through his hair.~

When they finally got to the sex H.O.T

description

~ Gretchen gasped startled at the sudden move. She'd been thinking she'd have to convince him to touch her, but now that it was all laid out in the open, he'd dove upon her like a starving man.
"Ah fuck," Hunter moaned, and she felt his breathe on her pussy. His tongue stroked out and licked her lightly, and then  he groaned again.
"You taste so good."
"Yes keep touching me." Her hands moved to his hair, holding him there
"Tell me how," He growled, sending a shiver through her body.~

She teaches him and encourages him. But not only does Gretchen bring Hunter out from his world he has been living in, she must fight to prove to him that hiding behind his scars is holding him back.

~"I don't find you ugly, Hunter. No one who knew you could." Her voice was achingly soft "If anything, I'm grateful that you have these scars, because they saved you for me- for this moment in time. And that's a little selfish of me, Isn't it? And yet I can't help but feel that way." ~

It was interesting to read the insecurities with the Hero this time around.
Normally the female would have the hangups and reading it in the reverse role was strange. Especially with the virgin aspect of it all.
For me it was a little more heartbreaking. You understood his pain. You felt his hunger and need for Gretchen, being in his head at times and experiencing all the firsts with him.

~"I'm a practical man. I never thought to have a woman in my life, ever. I thought my face would turn off any woman worth having. I never thought I would be lucky enough to meet someone like you. I have no illusions as to what this means to you, but for me. It is the world. ~

But will Hunter's insecurities hold him back from what seems too good to be true? Or can he trust himself with another person, let go and allow himself to be loved?

I really enjoyed this. I loved Stranded with the Billionaire but I must admit I loved this more.
I love series where we get a little of each character that is to come.
I can't wait for the next one.

I am about to go on a gush-fest right now, as I absolutely adore this book! It has been awhile since I have been captivated by a read, and this story did it. Hunter Buchannon is a man who was such a pleasant surprise to me, I fell in hard core love with him..I truly did!

This book is the second in the series; "The Billionaire Boys Club." Even though this is the second book, I do feel it can be read as a stand alone, although Book one was extremely enjoyable as well. "Beauty and the Billionaire" has the "Beauty and the Beast" theme that a lot of us readers love. I can honestly say that it has been awhile since I have read a book with this theme that I have enjoyed so much. This story will be one of my top faves of all time when it comes to the "beast" theme. Let me tell you...Mr. Hunter Buchannon..may look like a monster because of his scars...but in no way is he one. This guy will hold you entrhralled from beginning to end. I seriously felt so much for him. He was gruff yes, but underneath that hard exterior was a man that had so many soft layers he was amazing! He is kind, thoughtful, and feels like he doesn't deserve happiness because of how he looks. He hides himself away from the world, as he has been rejected and gawked at so many times that he would just rather be alone. He does have his friends that he met in College. These are the Billionaires that he has formed a private club with. There are six of them, and they have taken a vow to be successful no matter what they have to do. They rely on each other to help themselves out, and they are all handsome and filthy rich. (well, besides Hunter..he's rich but most would say he wasn't handsome..)Unfortunately, none of them are very lucky in love...

When Hunter comes across a woman named; Gretchen Petty, he is held captivated by her. She has the bright red hair, and she is vibrant and unique. He overhears her talk about how she wishes she could find a good man, and how looks do not matter to her. Even though Hunter knows in his heart that no one would be able to over look him..he decides he needs to formulate a plan to get to know this woman who has caught his attention. Gretchen is a "ghost writer" and Hunter uses her profession to lure her in to his mansion to stay there for a month. Gretchen is tempted by the huge amount of money she is offered, even though there are a few very strange conditions about the job.

I loved Gretchen! She was just such a neat heroine..so full of life, love, and laughter! She was perfect for Hunter, and thankfully she had so much determination when it came to the recluse! Hunter was innocent and naive in so many ways (yes, sex was one of the major ones!) and she took it upon herself to want to show him how to live! As the two of them grow closer, I fell in love more and more! I can't say enough of how much I enjoyed their dance to falling in love. This will go down as one of my favorite love stories of all time. Not all readers may be as excited about this story as I was; but for me...I just can't say enough good about it!

The sex between this couple...holy smoly...it was beyond HOT! Hunter may have gotten a late start; but when he finally does the deed..this guy is a demon in bed! Phew!!! I love his enthusiasum and his intensity! There is quite a bit of sex in this installment; but I wasn't complaining!! IT was all around great sex, and very well written. No trashiness in the least. It was erotic, passionate, and I loved every word...At one point I was reading a scene (them against a wall!) in the grocery store, and I had to stop as I was sure my face was beat red, and everyone would know that I was reading a dirty scene! LMAO That is a true story people!!!

Jessica Clare is fast becoming a top fave author of mine! I am in love with this series. If I have one book recommendation of the year so far...it would be this one! If "Beauty and the Beast" is something that you have always enjoyed..then please...give this one a chance. You will fall in love with Hunter...truly you will! He is such a pleasant surprise! I was sad to have the story end!

Hunter is one of Logan’s best-friends (you remember him from the first book) and although he´s basically a real-state genius he’s also a tremendously closed person. Mostly because of his scarred aspect, but also because his scars aren’t only external. He’s pretty broken on the inside and that’s a place harder to heal.

description

One days he see’s Gretchen and he becomes fascinated with her, so he offers her a job she can’t refuse, only to be close to her. Gretchen is a ghost-writer and when a fantastic offer appears she can’t say no. Until she meets her new boss and everything changes.
Hunter knows he wants her, but he gave up love and doesn’t believe anyone would want him that way. But that’s the thing about Gretchen, she is used to see inside of people and knows how deep beauty can go. If only Hunter would let her watch closely…

Rating: 4 Stars.
Storyline: Not original. I mean, the “beauty and h beast” plot is everything but new. Despite being predictable, everyone likes this type of story and we love to read it, even knowing exactly what’s going to happen.
Writing Style: First person. Pretty well written and kind of addictive. It seemed like I was in the middle of a modern fairy-tale and I loved every second of it.
Character Development: Gretchen is a pretty good heroine. Not to mention, she’s a writer. (I love writers for some reason!).
Hunter, despite some annoyances, it’s pretty good either and I liked him a lot.
Steam: Hot.

"I don't find you ugly, Hunter. No one who knew you could. If anything, I'm grateful that you have these scars, because they saved you for me - for this moment in time. And that's a little selfish of me, isn't it? And yet I can't help but feel that way."

This was quite the delicious slow build of sexual tension and trepidation. A fiesty, sarcastic and larger than life redhead paired with a scarred, broody loner. I ate this book up with a voracious appetite.

Hunter spotted Gretchen by accident, but immediately was intrigued by her quirky and outgoing personality. And with more money than he knows what to do with, he concocts a plan to get her to his sprawling mansion so he can get to know her and possibly strike up a friendship.

Gretchen is offered a perfect timing, too good to be true job offer...move into a mansion, read through hundreds of love letters from the old inhabitants and write a book based on their tale. Gretchen jumps at the chance for adventure...but she wasn't expecting to find Hunter Buchanan there. A sad and lonely man who hides in the shadows because of his scars.

Gretchen is beyond intrigued by the man. Yes, the scars are jarring at first, but she can easily see past them to the man underneath. A man who hides from the world, a man who has never known a woman's touch, a man who doesn't see beauty in himself, but tends to his garden with care and reverence, a man who hides behind cold gruffness to keep people at a distance in order to protect himself.

"I saw a man who isolates himself because he's worried about making other people uncomfortable. I saw a man who doesn't leave his house very often, but makes sure that the staff are well paid. I saw a man who works all day tirelessly and tends to roses because he enjoys their beauty. I saw man who expects perfection in himself but is okay with others treating him like dirt. I see a man who shuts out the world because he's so afraid of getting hurt again."

But Gretchen will not be deterred...she'll break him out of his shell, show him that he is desired and teach him how to come out of the shadows.

The depth of Hunter's loneliness broke my heart. He was so broken down by people's reactions to him. He was terrified of rejection, yet aching for a connection. Watching him open up to Gretchen melted my heart. Seeing him stumble through simple conversation, fumble at flirting and tremble with nervousness when it came to his sexual desires made him unbelievably endearing. He held on with both hands to the connection he shared with Gretchen, but he dared not hope that it would last.

"I'm a practical man. I never thought to have a woman in my life, ever. I thought my face would turn off any woman worth having. I never thought I would be lucky enough to meet someone like you. I have no illusions as to what this means to you, but for me, it is the world."

"I just want you to know that it's not you. It's me. It's all me, and if I push you away it's because I don't know how to pull you close."

This book was just a great combination of so many elements...emotion, humor, healing, desire and love. I loved Gretchen's humor and openness...she refused to let Hunter hide, but knew when to retreat and went to give him the push that he needed. Watching Hunter step out of his self imposed exile and show his vulnerabilities to Gretchen gave me those swoony stomach flutters that I live for. However, neither Gretchen nor Hunter were perfect, and mistakes are made along the way, but no matter what it was clear that they belonged together.

I'm a sucker for Beauty and the Beast-esque books, and this one hit on all the things that I love. Jessica Clare's effortless writing continues to make this an addicting series that I just can't seem to put down.

I really disliked the first book in this series but I got lured into reading this one by the intriguing premise, low price and good reviews.
I should have trusted my gut, though, and skipped it.

I love "Beauty and the Beast" stories but the execution on this one is poorly done. Hunter is a very reclusive 30 year old billionaire who overhears a three minute conversation between Gretchen and the heroine from the first book in the series. Somehow, in that brief amount of time, he concludes that Gretchen is “bold and fearless” with a “smart mind and a sharp tongue” and she is meant to be with him. She begins to “haunt his dreams” and he declares that HE MUST HAVE HER. Because he’s so rich, he concocts a very expensive and ridiculous scheme to lure her into moving into his mansion for a month so he can be near her and win her heart. Once she’s in his mansion, though, he seems to forget all about his plan. He spends a lot of time getting angry with her, pushing her away and being a complete dick because he has scars (which are initially described as being on the left side of his face but two chapters later have miraculously migrated to the right side of his face). He firmly believes no one will ever love him because he’s so physically hideous. The “beauty and the beast” premise would have worked much better for me if he hadn’t been the one to orchestrate Gretchen moving into his house. His reluctance to enter into a relationship with Gretchen and rejection of all her advances would have seemed more organic and true if she had been unwillingly thrust into his life. Because he’s the catalyst, however, it seems like manufactured conflict to fill pages and build up sexual tension. Speaking of sexual tension, Hunter is a virgin and pretty damn pissy about it. Gretchen figures this out fairly early on and decides that she wants to enter into a relationship with him. She is drawn to his scars (of course) and wants to help him be less lonely. So what does she do? She barges in on him while he’s masturbating and gives him a blow job. Does Hunter figure out that this is pretty much a green light to proceed without caution with her? Nope. He continues to be surly and unreceptive to her flirting and sexual suggestions. Until suddenly he doesn’t and he becomes the aggressor. I found it all quite bewildering and hard to accept.

As a result, I didn’t like Hunter at all. His speech is stiff and formal. He never uses contractions and says things like “Do you not like the quiet?” or “I simply wore a jacket because it was pleasing to me to dress well.” I think the author was trying to reinforce how uncomfortable he is around people but the dude wasn’t born in 1817 in London. He grew up in America in the 1990’s and went to Dartmouth College. His speech pattern should be that of a normal 30 year old guy.

Gretchen is a lot more likable initially but then she takes a turn for the worse when she throws a dinner party to kick start Hunter back into society and force him out of his self-imposed exile. Once she became unlikable, I struggled to finish the book.

Reading other reviews for this book, though, I seem to be in the minority as it has lots of 4 and 5 stars. It must be that Jessica Clare’s style of writing and storytelling isn’t for me. I’m not getting lured into reading the next book in the series no matter how tempting the premise and price.

I am in love with this series. I was hesitant to read the first book because it had 'billionaire' in the title and I kind of sworn off Billionaire books. But this series is so different from other Billionaire books out there. I'm so happy that I gave this series a chance.

We met Hunter in the first book. He lives a pretty solitary life thanks to his scarred face. In book 1, when he spies on Gretchen and Bronte, he is immediately taken with Gretchen. He hears her say that she doesn't care about a man's looks and he figures that if she truly means that, Gretchen could be the woman for him. Hunter finds out everything he can about Gretchen and lures her to his house under false pretenses. I know this sounds creepy but it's really not. At least, I didn't think it was creepy.

Gretchen is intrigued by the writing job that miraculously landed in her lap. When she arrives at Hunter's home, she's taken aback by how stark it is. His butler is not very cooperative and there aren't a bunch of servants running around. When Gretchen finally meets Hunter, it's not under the best circumstances and when she tries to apologize, she keeps making the situation worse. Gretchen slowly brings Hunter out of his shell and when she sees his face, she understands why he lives such a solitary life. Gretchen is intrigued by Hunter and wants to get to know him better, a lot better.

I love the Beauty and the Beast spin of Beauty and the Billionaire. When I learned that Hunter was a virgin, I was immediately sold. Gotta love those virgin heroes. Hunter's virginity was handled realistically. He's no stud in the bed, he gets too excited a couple of times and pretty much doesn't know what to do. Gretchen's patience with him was sweet and sexy. She wasn't concerned about Hunter's looks. She wanted to be with him despite his looks.

Hunter's wounds are not just on his face. Because of his scars he doesn't trust that someone like Gretchen would like him for him. Hunter and Gretchen's perfect life unravels when outside forces invade their cozy environment. The journey to an HEA is not an easy road for Gretchen and Hunter. Hunter has to learn to trust and Gretchen has to forgive Hunter.

Beauty and the Billionaire is a great installment in this series. I loved Hunter and Gretchen. They are a great couple and loved their journey together. Can't wait to read the next book!

If you haven't started reading this series yet, I highly recommend you do.

Gretchen Petty

Hunter Buchanan

Here's my review to my wonderful and faithful readers :D!!

So Gretchen has money problems and she needs funding, fortunately a guy -cough- HUNTER BUCHANAN -cough- has the means to help her with his cha-ching ;)..

When they first meet... LMAO

As their love flowers..no pun intended (you'll catch that later)

The mutual acceptance and understanding of one another...

The Party :|....

All those bouquets :D!!!....

From an early age we are taught to never judge a person based on what they do or don't have physically. Easier said then done though, right? Yeah.
After reading this book which is ultimately a spicier remake of a classic tale of finding love and overcoming insecurities that are brought out by the cruel nature of human beings, I have to say that it has served as a good reminder of how often people are quick to judge a person before knowing the demons that may lie beneath.

If you're looking for an out of the ball park new and exciting book, this may not be the stunner book you're looking for, but I encourage everyone to put this on their reading list, ESPECIALLY if you're in a reading slump and are looking to ease your way back into the world of reading, but I also recommend this book because it is always valuable to learn a lesson in love while readers build or restructure their "book army". :)

This book emphasizes the unarguable fact that true love is never ugly, something that nobody should forget <3

As is my sign off, thanks again to my wonderful readers.. until next time <3

5 Heart Warming “Beauty and the Beast” STARS

OH.MY.GOSH! If you love the story of Beauty and the Beast then this book is for you!!!! It’s SUPER SUPER SUPER CUTE!!!!

You have the scared Hero, Hunter. He has scars all over his face, his torso and he’s also missing a finger! Don’t you feel for him? Because he’s so scared, Hunter is recluse, stays in his mansion and hardly gets out, but he’s also very lonely.

Gretchen is a beauty, but a broke one. She’s a writer and she’s writes books she doesn’t like, but she does it for the pay check. When a publishing company offers her a job to write a book for lots of money, it’s too hard to pass up. However, she must write a book where her references are located and it’s in a mansion.

Wait for it….

At Hunter’s mansion! Because Hunter set up the publishing company to get to know Gretchen better.

Review

I’m starting to really like this series. This one just takes the cake on cuteness factor. I couldn’t get over the storyline and I wanted to gobble ever y page. The heart of the story lies within Hunter. He’s so damaged because of his appearance, as he should because he lets us know how people cringe when they see him.

I LOVE HUNTER!!!! He’s so venerable, adorable, awkward and crazy sexy at the same time. Since he was scared at a young age, so he doesn’t have much experience with women and when he’s around Gretchen, he’s put off and very timid.

Gretchen is sassy and has a very cute personality. I wouldn’t say she’s super strong character, but just a fun-loving, I-want-to-be-her-friend kind of character. She tries to banter with Hunter to get him to loosen up and it’s really sweet to read.

Hunter is very attracted to Gretchen and longs for her but because of his appearance he doesn’t attempt to get closer to Gretchen, he’s perfectly fine just having her around. Gretchen is intrigued by Hunter and wants to purse a friendship with him, but Hunter doesn’t make it easy for her.

I really like Beauty and the Billionaire because of how Jessica Clare set up her characters. She created a hero that was just so interesting and loving to read I was just immersed. This story mirrors a lot like the Beauty and Beast storyline, but it’s not an exact plot. I love this because Beauty and the Billionaire is just a new modern twist from a classic fairy tale.

I could have ready this over and over . I recommend!

Beauty and the beast, phantom of the opera are the inspiration of this book. And I also detect an Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan is an inspiration.

The author is very good at making this book fun and yet heart warming. And Hunter... oh Hunter. He is a GOD. Romantic book usually have a broken damage hero that needs to be saving. And Jessica delivers that. Plus the sweet cute sweet banter between Hunter and Gretchen. I love Gretchen. She is so kicking ass. She is witty flirty and yet sweet.

I kind of hoping the butler have a stand alone book. He is a show stealer.

"Beauty and the Billionaire" is the story of Gretchen and Hunter.

A fabulous retelling of "Beauty and the Beast", this one has all the elements I love
-A scarred, alpha, introverted, billionaire hero
-A spunky, vivacious, caring, ghost-writer heroine
-An instant obsession because of which the hero goes to desperate lengths to meet the heroine
-A false assignment
-Castle and roses
-A slow seduction and gentle coaxing towards happiness
-Insistence to believe
-True love, some drama and HEA

Honestly, the couple fall for each other very fast, and they are so sweet together. The hero is isolated and hurt, and the heroine spends all her time spreading colors in his dull life. She teaches him, loves him and ultimately forces him to believe her. His scars define him until meeting her, and then their love does. I adored the cat Igor, the rose garden and finally, the heroine for trying to break the ice with the hero by blurting "I saw your penis". LMAO.

Such a great read!

UGHHHH. Nothing more frustrating than a book that comes so close to being good but falls short. This author makes me feel like she's read a bunch of harlequin romance books, but has never experienced romance, and therefore doesn't know wtf she's doing. Plus, she uses way too many condoms and giggling.

Hunter (scarred, recluse, broody, VIRGIN, billionaire) becomes obsessed with Gretchen (writer, waitress, sister of Logan's assistant in first book) when he overhears her say that she wouldn't judge a man by his looks or money. Hunter was seriously scarred when he was a child and he's always been embarrassed by his looks, so he keeps himself locked away in his mansion. As with all billionaires, he gets Gretchen to spend time with him by the only way he knows how - using his money to manipulate the situation to fit his needs. Gretchen ends up contracted to stay in his mansion with him for a full month while she writes a book.

Gretchen tries to get to know Hunter, but the poor man is so shy and scared that he comes off as an abrasive ass! These two are always misunderstanding the others' intentions, especially when Gretchen decides to actively try and seduce him. She takes his V card and they start to fall for each other, but then there's this disastrous dinner party and then he decides to offer to pay her for sex and duh - that's insulting so off Gretchen goes. More drama and then a crappy version of an HEA.

So, I really loved the Beauty & Beast plot because Gretchen was outgoing in trying to seduce him. Poor Hunter! That man had NO idea what to do. He's never flirted, hasn't talked to women before, hasn't interacted socially, nothing. He doesn't understand her jokes, sarcasm, or flirting. It's pretty painful. That issue is compounded by the fact that Gretchen is a little awkward herself. Not only does she suck at joking, but she refuses to explain to him that she's making jokes. You can imagine the issues that brings the two of them. In the beginning it was cute and funny, but they never end up getting on the same wavelength.

I gave this 3-stars because I absolutely LOVE an emotionally damaged man with scars on his face!!!

BTW, don't listen to the audio. Jillian Macie sucks as a narrator.

SPOILERS AHEAD

There are a lot of things that started to piss me off. Gretchen being one of them.

So, she knows the details of what Hunter has gone through in his life and how much suffering he's lived with. She acknowledges the pain and self-esteem issues he has. But she never says anything to reassure him. Sure, she f*cks him, but she's never telling him how she feels about him. Even at the very end she's like, "I care about you." B*tch can you not tell the man you love him?! And she's never gazing into his eyes thinking about how she finds him sexy or beautiful. I didn't think she loved him at all. I actually started to think she was a royal b*tch. When her crackhead sister insults him at a party, she not only doesn't knock the f*ck out of the sister, but she never corrects the things said. If I'm with a man and someone says these awful things, I'm going to defend him and there will be NO DOUBT in anyone's mind that I love and want my man for him. Not his money.

They have the issue of her being broke and she actually ends up homeless because of Hunter's actions, but then we never get to see Hunter discover it. Why make that part of the plot if you're not going to follow through with it?? He doesn't see any of the fact that she's now homeless because he never paid her for the work she was doing!! That's a big deal.

Too many condoms and not enough sex. This author is obsessed with using condoms in a FICTIONAL romance. If you've had sex IRL, you know that it feels better without one!!!! I get the first time using one, but after that - no. It destroys the sexiness of it. Plus, you can't get STDs in books unless you write it in. If someone tries to say they want condom use to reflect what would happen IRL, um sure. Just like a scarred billionaire would go after a quirky writer. Then, there wasn't nearly as much satisfying sex as there should have been. It felt fake on her part.

Why are these women always giggling?! YOU'RE A GROWN ADULT!!! act like it.

The ending sucked balls and there's no epilogue. I wanted Hunter to get a HEA and for her to be madly in love with him and she's like "well maybe I'll stick around." I just didn't like it at all. Even when they get back together and he says he loves her, she doesn't reply at all. She just leaves him hanging!!! WTF.

Oh - this author has already ruined one of the other books for me because apparently one of the characters is from Arkansas. NOT ALL SOUTHERNERS ARE DUMB HICKS THAT TALK LIKE THAT!!! Nobody talks like that, actually. It's an ignorant assumption and reinforces the fact the author doesn't know wtf she's talking about. I f*cking hate that with a passion. I'll give it 1-star when it comes along.

I gave it 3-stars for now just because I love Hunter so much. Bless his heart.

This one had more story and character depth and substance than the first book. I loved Gretchen, she had me laughing throughout the entire book. Hunter’s grumpy a** wasn’t bad either. And their chemistry was sizzling.

Beauty and the Billionaire is the second installment of the Billionaire Boys Club and the story of Hunter Buchanan & Gretchen Petty.

We met these two in Stranded, Gretchen was the quirky roommate with the hairless cat and Hunter was the deeply scarred recluse man who in a moment of overhearing Gretchen's words knows he has to have her.

Hunter has money at his disposal and he plans on using it to lure Gretchen in with the hopes that he can get to know her - even love her. But he knows that she will never look past his disfiguring scars, but he still craves her to be near him, even if she will never return the feelings.

But Gretchen finds herself drawn into the man, she is able to see beyond his scars to something that is far deeper within. She sees the scared broken boy that suffered all those years ago and the man that is still trying to shield himself from the hurt those visual reminders bring out.

But as Hunter finds himself falling in love with her, his lack of experience shows through. ...and this made his story something so much more raw and vulnerable.

Hunter fights with his need to hide away and the urges to use his money and power throughout this story. Hunter and Gretchen struggle with trust; he can't seem to understand that a woman could truly love him with a body mangled with such horrific reminders. But when Gretchen discovers that Hunter has set everything in motion she struggles with feeling betrayed.

I am not sure what it is about men with scars that makes me fall deeper. Without the ability to rely solely on the author's ability to clearly state just how good-looking or hot the male lead is - you are stuck focusing on actions and for me it just hits me in the heart just right. And I mean, we are all suckers for the fairy tales right?

Between the heartache of his transformation and the heated sexual encounters this was a wonderful read and was a great installment in this series - of the two, this one is my favorite of the group and I am not sure if the other 3 will surpass this one for me. There were some pretty intense sexual situations that were bordering on innocent, but felt a little more erotic than they were because of the situation that Hunter was faced with.

A great series read for those who like their alpha males ridiculously rich and every bit broken. Audrey & Reese's story is up next and I have a feeling he will be the bad boy we will love to hate.

I was excited to read this one after the first book because Hunter Buchannon intrigued me. Also, Gretchen seemed like a really great character in the first book.

This story is very “BEAUTY & THE BEAST” which is fine with me because aside from Frozen that is my favorite Disney movie.

I loved the way their relationship progressed and how patient Gretchen was with Hunter. Hunter is surly & inexperienced with relationships of all kinds but he is thoughtful and sexy. From the first time He spied her you knew these two were going to have great chemistry and let me tell you they are scorching HOT together!!!

I LOVED this book.

Ever since we met Gretchen in the first book, I knew she was my kind of heroine. Smart, spunky, and irreverent. She certainly set the tone for the whole book.

Gretchen is a ghost writer who hates her job. She writes crap. The tile of the novel she is working on is Astronout Bill and the Space Vixens of Dark Planet . Is it any wonder she can't seem to make her deadline? So, when she's offered an interesting and lucrative job to write a novel based on a series of Victorian era letters, even though she has to live in a strangers house, she takes it.

I adored Gretchen and Hunter's dance around each other. Hunter was so different than your usual Billianare fare. He is more than just reclusive - he's sure that no woman, no person could look beyond his scars to the man beneath.

"I dont find you ugly Hunter. No one who knows you could. .....If anything, I'm grateful that you have these scars, because they saved you for me - for this moment in time."

Gretchen is tailor made for Hunter. She doesn't like perfect alpha guys, and is drawn to the lonely mysterious man she sees in Hunter. Hunter turns out to be a deeply romantic, passionate man that is the perfect complement to Gretchen in every way.

And boy, when they finally get together...talk about chemistry. They were off the charts.

I think my only complaint was that this was FAR from an original storyline (as evidenced by even the title, this one was recycled from way back). However, it was so well executed, it is hard to care.

Overall, it was fantasticly funny, sweet, romantic, and steamy. Definitely a recommended read.

Contemporary take on Beauty and the Beast...the "beast" being an injury-mutilated/scarred billionaire.

It's been a bit since I've read a het romance book and quite frankly, I think just because the sheer volume of options and choices that are produced out there, it's really hard to find the good ones. This was an ok read...it's hella cheesy and for being a contemporary book, I'm disappointed at how...unrealistic so much of it is. Suspension of reality and overlooking lame details is required.

That being said, I think one thing the book does well is tell the fairy tale...and sometimes I just want to believe a strapped-for-cash ghost writer can live in Soho and fall in love with a billionaire virgin who looks like a "monster'.

There are some hot and sensual scenes but the problem is it's the same thing over and over...no variety. I kinda love how my M/M books have guys doing each other every which way, facing all directions, and in places and positions galore. The sex in this one started to get boring...

All in all, a quick decent read. But, I really need a book w/ 2 strapping alpha males getting it on like donkey kong next...may need to reread Grey's Awakening or one of my Cut & Run books. :)

Thanks to Heidi Cullinan and Tina Miz for the buddy read via twitter! :)

Oh MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't know what to say but I sure am smiling as I write this. This is so awkward!!..I feel myself blushing every time Gretchen attacks Hunter with her wittiness and playfulness that makes Hunter uncomfortable and aroused. Though it's fun...I loved the story and the characters.

I can't make a better review. I think this is all I can say..I wish I am as brave as Gretchen..

HUNTERRR! What a cuteeeee hero!!! I’m usually all about the alpha male hero vibe but he was so cute He was able to get emotional, and the author was able to show the death of his emotions I loved it.

Gretchen Wilson, incredible heroine, who is able to bring a hero out of his reclusive state, and a bubbly personality was just watch Hunter need it. It was a very much opposites attract sort of story, and I am here for it.

Summary
Hunter Buchanan, is a real estate tycoon, and because he is scarred, no woman will come near him. He is respected because of his wealth and business intellect, but that is as far as it goes. He is lonely and craves companionship, and when he spies Gretchen he knows that she is the one woman for him. So he devises a plan to bring her to his home to work on some letters for writing a book, hoping to make her see the man beneath the scars. Gretchen is a ghostwriter, and when she is given a great offer to write and transcribe some letters for a new book, she can’t pass this opportunity up. When she arrives though, the mansion has only a few servants, and has a rigid schedule, and the man of the house is a recluse, and is a bit of a beast at times. But she senses more from Hunter than meets the eye, and despite his scars, she sees a man that needs her and she sees the man beneath his rough exterior, a man that has never known love or affection, and has only a few friends and one loyal bitter servant. Soon Hunter and Gretchen will soon learn that you need to have faith in love or it won’t work, will these two find a balance in each other?

The Hero
Hunter Buchanan was kidnapped when he was a child, and trying to escape, ended up barely getting away alive, and was scarred for life. Hunter’s father was a man who cared more about money than his own son. But when Hunter went to college, the saving grace was the friends he made, friends that saw past his appearance and she the inner part of him. Hunter is a hero that is very “tortured male”…and it just broke my heart. It was quite heartbreaking seeing more and more of his character come through in this story, We see bits and pieces of him, a damaged man but not a broken one. He is on the hunt to be accepted and loved by a woman, to have passion and companionship. To be loved for who he is and not for his money.

The Heroine
Gretchen is spirited and lively, and who wouldn’t love her. Gretchen makes a living by being a ghostwriter, but lately her writing has been falling short and she needs something more or she could be out on the streets soon. When she is given a offer, that is the best opportunity, but would have her living in a house with a man who is a recluse, she is cautious, but she is drawn to this opportunity. She soon sees that there is more to her boss than meets the eye, and sets out to show him who she really is. What I loved about Gretchen is her accepting nature, she doesn’t see Hunter as most others do, she sees a man hurting and in need of her. She takes a look at his scars, but doesn’t see a beast but a man worthy of love. Gretchen is bold and goes after her “prey” which was quite entertaining. I loved the way she goes after what she wants and is a fighter.

Plot and Story Line
This is a “beauty and the beast” themed story but in a contemporary setting. Which I actually love this trope, and even though it can be overdone, I loved the way that Jessica Clare wrote this one. In the previous book, we see the beginning of the story happening, so it was fun seeing it just start off from where the first book left off. Beauty and the Billionaire, is a story that won my heart with every page written. I loved the different feel to this story from the first book. We have the Beauty (Gretchen), and the Beast (Hunter), and at first they don’t see much of each other, but Gretchen grows more bolder, and Hunter becomes more open to her advances, and it was quite entertaining seeing these two come together finally. There are quite a few obstacles that they need to overcome before they have any hope of getting their HEA, but they find it, and what a beautiful way it is found too. I love the flow of the story, and the writing just kept me reading and this was such a page turner, I had the most difficult time putting it down. This author has a talented way with her writing of captivating her audience. I found these two characters to be just wonderful for each other, and boy some of the bedroom scenes are quite thrilling and sexy, but what I loved most was seeing the love story to be the primary focus of the story, and seeing it grow and bloom was quite fun. Another great aspect was seeing the way this story comes together, it was very riveting at times, and kept me on tinder hooks, and it also gave us a little teaser at the end for the third book which I am very excited for now.

The Cover
I still don’t know what to think about the covers. I mean they are pretty of course, but they aren’t really relevant to the story in any way.

Overall View
Beauty and the Billioniare is an emotional love tale of compassion, trust, and what true love really takes….this is a story that is enthralls the reader with every page, a tender love story to capture you from page one. SIMPLY SPLENDID!!

-Cleaning out my kindle, and realizing that I had the novella follow up to this as an ARC to read compelled me to dig around the Mountain (aka my TBR pile) and I discovered that I had held onto this book, for reasons unknown to me. Boy was I missing out. Gretchen and Hunter’s touching love story was an absolute treat and considering the crappy week I’ve had, it absolutely hit the spot.

-With a title like Beauty and the Billionaire, I don’t think a recap’s that necessary but here goes - Hunter sees Gretchen from a far and decides that he must find a way to meet her and spend time with her. Gretchen’s a ghostwriter who’s struggling to find any inspiration in the series she’s currently writing, she jumps at a chance to examine some letters and write a story about them. Yes, take the general structure of the fairy tale, add in some good humor, hot sex and lots of roses, and romance happens.

-Hunter’s your prototypical wounded hero, damaged inside and out. His inner monologue is tortured. He’s socially awkward and a deeply lonely man. So of course, I fell madly in love with him. His yearning and love for Gretchen made every bit of my romantic feels like up like a Christmas tree. Yes, in his pain and inability to understand how anyone could want to be with him and his scars, I just want to hug him. With my mouth.

-Gretchen is the perfect antidote for Hunter. She sees beyond his scars, and is drawn to the man beneath it all. She’s not perfect, she’s a bit of a procrastinator, unsure at times, but for the most part, she refuses to let him hide himself from her and I absolutely adored her.

-So, of course with this angsty type read, there’s questionable choices, misunderstandings and I could point to frustrations of it. And lord have mercy, Gretchen’s sister Daphne is still as annoying as I’ve ever found her in other Jessica Clare Billionaire books she’s been featured in. That said, Gretchen and Hunter’s romance is sexy, emotional and enjoyable enough that I could gloss over those annoying moments and just love them.

I truly enjoyed Beauty and the Billionaire. A treat I denied myself for too long, Hunter and Gretchen’s romance is definitely a highlight of the Billionaire series and I’m glad I read it. I’d recommend it for fans of her series that may have skipped this like I did or for those who just love variations on the Beauty and the Beast theme with hot romance and good banter. Read it. I’m glad I did.

•I so desperately want the H to be happy and find love
•And he loves gardening and roses!!
•The Eldon was pretty funny
•The H deserved better than the self-admitted whore that is the h
•The h was in the wrong, not the H

I really enjoyed this one. It’s sexy and fun, with a tortured hero and a heroine who teases and cares and is so sexy herself. My top ten reasons (and yes, there are a few explicit quotes below)

1. Hunter is a VIRGIN billionaire with massive scarring (from falling out of a boat and hitting a propeller – zomg!) on his face and chest and is missing a finger. (My god, do I even need to continue???)

2. The heroine, Gretchen, a ghost writer, is super cute and witty and says “I’d rather have a man who isn’t in love with his own reflection than on who needs hair products or designer labels.” (HELLO! A man is waiting for you who hates the way he looks!)

3. Hunter lives in a castle. No really – a full-fledged Victorian style castle with a butler that has a major ‘tude.

“I didn’t realize I was going to be living a frickin’ Hogwarts! I- “

The massive wooden front door opened, and a tall, then man with a bald head and long neck stepped out of the house. Gretchen looked at him with keen interest. He wore a small plaid bow tie and a tweed jacket with patches in the elbows. Fascinating.

4. Hunter is all stalkery and super awkward – he had seen Gretchen previously and knew he needed to really get to know her. So he buys some old letters from an estate and pretends they are from his castle, and asks (demands) that she write about them. He also demands she live at his house as she completes the project. It’s all very stalker, creepy but sexy in that romance book way.

5. Gretchen accidentally walks in on Hunter after he gets out of the shower and she honestly doesn’t feel that embarrassed by it.

He was utterly naked, his skin gleaming with wet drops from his shower. His legs were tanned and shadowed from the wet hair clinging to them, and his legs were thick with cords of muscle. Nice, wet cords of glorious muscle. A tattoo traced across one bicep.

He was hung too, Gretchen didn’t mind noticing. HIs cock lay semi-erect against his thigh, as if he’d recently pleasured himself.

And of course during this time is when she notices how scarred he is, something he is deeply ashamed of. So when he all of a sudden notices she is standing there:

“Get the fuck out of here,” he roared. One hand went in front of his face, shielding it from her gaze. (OH Hunter. *sobs*)

6. Gretchen does her best to make Hunter feel more comfortable around her, especially since he is embarrassed about her seeing him naked.

“Are you drunk?” he asked abruptly.

“No,” she said, drawing out that one syllable. Okay, so the pajamas weren’t making the best first – um, second – impression. “I’m friendly. I saw you out here and wanted to talk.”

His face darkened into a scowl, the scars at the corner of his mouth twisting his entire face into an ugly grimace. He turned away. “I have nothing to say to you.”

So this wasn’t going well. When he began to stalk away at a pace more rapid that she could sustain in her oversized borrowed boots, she panicked. “Your penis! she called out. “I saw it!”

7. So in MORE of an effort to make him feel better, she comes up with this plan.

“Hunter?”

“Hmmm?” He seemed distracted, almost dazed.

She reached for the loose collar of her robe and pulled it open. Stepping back, she flashed him her breasts.

He stared, frozen in place.

“Now we’re even,” she told him lightly. “The field is leveled. Enjoy your meeting tonight.”

And she closed her robe and sauntered back into her room, grinning the entire time.

8. Hunter has a huge greenhouse where he grows a ton of roses. Each day, even before he meets her in person, he leaves a rose on her desk. So romantic.

She wasn’t quite sure what the roses meant. Just a polite gesture from a lonely man? She liked to think otherwise. Maybe he was as quietly fascinated with her as she was with him. There was something about Hunter that called to her. His sharp mind? His flawless physique? His scarred face and tortured eyes? She didn’t know, but she couldn’t get him out of her head. He was so different from all the other men she’d ever met. He fascinated her.

9. He is SO much a virgin, he can barely stand it when Gretchen becomes very forward and offers him her body.

“I’ve never…I don’t…”

“That’s all right, Hunter.”

“It’s not,” he said roughly, reaching out and daring to touch a lock of her hair that was tickling his chest. It was soft and silky, and his mind immediately filled with images of her hair sliding all over him, her naked body following. His cock reared, and he bit his lip to keep from spilling with need. “It’s…not…..okay.”

(An out of control, rearing cock! Will it ever be tamed?)

10. Have I mentioned that I love Gretchen? Hunter has a huge mirror in his office that faces his desk.

“Why the mirror?” she whispered.

He tilted the phone away from his mouth so only she could hear his response. “ So I never forget who – and what I am.”

“That’s depressing,” she told him, and then rolled her eyes when he shushed her. “You know who does that? Emo people.”

But this mirror has other functions! Like playing a part in dirty, dirty sex on his desk.

His hand anchored on her shoulder, the other on her hip, and then he was slamming into her over and over again, his thrusts wild and undisciplined. She was being taken by a man out of control.

It was glorious. She’d never been fucked so hard.

Every time he pounded into her an involuntary groan of pleasure escaped her throat. She was so close and he hadn’t even touched her clit. “Oh, God, Hunter, keep fucking me.”

“So…damn….naughty,” he told her between rough thrusts. “You’re such a fucking tease, Gretchen.”

“I am,” she moaned. “I like teasing you." You like it, too.”

And bonus 11. And finally…

I don’t find you ugly, Hunter. No one who knew you could. Her voice was achingly soft. “If anything, I’m grateful that you have these scars, because they saved you for me – for this moment in time. And that’s selfish of me, isn’t it? And yet I can’t help but feel that way.”

This is book two in a series about six billionaire friends. They can be read as stand alones (I read the first book and enjoyed, but not as much as this one) Book three just released last week.

Modern güzel ve çirkin masalı! 😍💖😍💖

Reading Slump’a giriyorum ahali diye dert yakınırken tatlı niyetine bir günde sömürdüm kitabı.

"Seninle ilgili her şeyi seviyorum."
