The List Trilogy #2

The Unexpected List

Rate this book
When she was just sixteen, Chrissy Anderson made a life list…

…It’s been abandoned. Now she’s got an ex-husband, a satisfied lover and a thriving new business. She’s rebuilding. Then out of nowhere…a baby. You think you know who the father is? Think again. Follow Chrissy as she deepens her understanding of how to be truthful to herself and those that she loves.

In book TWO of The List Trilogy, Chrissy Anderson is divorced from her husband Kurt and free to pursue a “truly, madly, deeply” relationship with the man of her dreams, Leo. It looks like Chrissy is finally able to have her wedding cake and eat it too, as Leo valiantly works to make all of her dreams come true. But once again, Chrissy’s world is turned upside-down as someone else close to her dies leaving her with an unexpected gift. For a second time, Chrissy is pushed to make a choice between love and obligation.

Not everyone will agree with Chrissy Anderson’s decisions, but all will pause as they follow along on her new journey to ask, “If you lie by omission, is it still a lie?”

The Unexpected List will catch you up with all of your favorite characters from The Life List. You’ll continue to laugh and cry with Chrissy as she learns to achieve the life she always wanted and now knows she deserves. Brace yourself as Chrissy tackles a new and improved list. It will leave you dying to know how her story ends in book THREE, The Hope List.

Who is Chrissy? Does it even matter really? I guess it would matter to the real Chrissy if she wrote The Life List for fortune and fame. But she didn’t. She did it all for you. Hold on, scratch that. Of course there were some self-indulgent components to the whole shootin’ match, but at the end of the day, she sees bits and pieces of her checkered past in almost every woman she encounters and she wants to help them, tell them they’re NOT crazy.

Women of all kinds- twenty-somethings, housewives and superwomen wanna-bes- will all be able to relate to the same pressures Chrissy felt of constructing the ideal life, only to fall short. And I suspect there will be a lot of exhaling going on as those women read The Life List. I certainly don’t expect everyone to agree with Chrissy Anderson’s decisions, but all will pause as they follow along on her journey to ask, “What would I do if I were her?”

I received a copy of The Unexpected List by Chrissy Anderson in exchange for an honest review.
I was super excited times ten to read this book, as I just loved the first in this trilogy, The Life List. I found myself thinking about the characters and if Chrissy ended up Leo, as we are left with a cliffhanger. Now, this is going to be an interesting review. Why? Because I didn’t love all the aspects of this book. I struggled with some of the editing. For example, I don’t like sentences like this: Smiling from ear to ear, “So what?” Taking my hands, “I see very beautiful things.” My editor self was cringing when I read these types of sentences. Also, the beginning threw me off a bit. I thought the prologue was a bit too long, and too much of trying to keep an air of mystery. I just wanted the story to start all right, and stop with all the mysteriousness of it. Now, even after that being said...I’m giving this book a 5 star review. If I ever find something wrong with the editing it’s an automatic no 5 star, a 4.5 at best. So why would I have two things about the book that I dislike and still rate it 5 stars? Because I absolutely loved this story, and did not want to put it down (after I got through the prologue). The ending had me practically panting, and I actually felt crushed – crushed! – when the book ended at yet another cliffhanger. I felt even more crushed when I saw the third and final installment won’t be here until winter. These books are having a profound effect on me, and I’m talking to everyone I know about them. I think the about the characters, wonder about their lives, and find myself continuing the stories in my mind how I hope they will end. Very rarely, and I mean VERY rarely, does this happen. So yes, while I might find aspects that I didn’t totally like, in all I loved this book as a whole. I highly recommend this trilogy!

Holy shit this book was beyond AMAZING...I read this first book and thought that it was just okay it had the drama and tears but I was ready for it to end...So I had to read the second book but I just have to finish what I start and I'm so glad that I did. I don't even know where to start on this one. I can say that I need book 3 like yesterday I can't wait till 2014. I need to know what happens. I cried so hard during this book the whole situation with Kendall was just too much just broke my heart it had my emotions all over the place. I even had to put the book down it was just to much. I was torn on the Team Leo/Team Kurt but I have now made up my mind. I totally Team Leo/Chrissy and Team Kurt/Megan(the book doesn't say it but I know that are dating they just have to be...right?) I really hope that book 3 has one kick ass epilogue and really ties everything together.

This is added to my favorites list!
Another cliffhanger & I can not wait for book 3 in 2014, Its high on my waiting list to read 1st! (Does that make sense??)

I loved all the characters and felt like I was with them at all times, of course mostly Chrissy, "she is my book friend now"

This book is what I call real, I love the authors writting style, she has a way to make you feel like you are one of them. Normal? yea thats the word. I think most people deal with things like this in their lives & nothing is perfect just like this gang of friends in this book. Everyone woman should read this book! But that cliff hanger omg!

Thats how I feel till I wait for book 3!

This book was even better than book #1! I could not stop reading, it was a guilty pleasure and I loved every minute! Again I laughed and cried and screamed with Chrissy, that girl is a hot mess but I love her. Yes she is overly dramatic and yes she flip flops so much it makes your head spin, but she does everything she does because she has found something we are all on the hunt for; truly, madly, deeply love. She has finally found it and she is desperate to hold onto it. I dreaded reading the last chapter and I was right to, I don't know how I will survive until 2014 for the 3rd book! Talk about a cliff hanger!

OMG! I absolutely devoured this book. When I read a book, I’m all about the characters. No matter how great the storyline, if I’m not invested in the characters, it just doesn’t work for me. And that’s what makes the List books so wonderful. Anderson develops her characters effortlessly and flawlessly, and not just the heroine (herself), but all the supporting cast. This book is just as maddening and endearing as Book 1, and between the 2 books, my Kindle has not seen much down-time in the last week. My only complaint is that I hate cliffhangers, so I am super bummed that book 3 is not out yet. Oh well, I’m rubbing my hands together with anticipation, and I can’t wait!

This novel was even more dramatic than the first. I have no clue whos baby it is either but for some reason, I think it's Leos. I don't think Kurt would of taken advantage of her when she was drunk. It's just all fucked up really. Man this novel is crazy and I have to wait until 2014 for the third. OH MAN!

Well I'll be damned.

This second book of The List Trilogy, tore. me. apart. I don't think it would be right for me to even give this a full review because I wouldn't be able to do it without spoilers.

AMAZING.

That's it. I mean I spent my last night crying over my kindle repeating to myself over and over
"NO! NO! NO! this can't be happening"
"OMG!! Chrissy you didn't!"
"No way, it can't happen like this, my heart hurts"

That being said, the title says it all. If you read and loved the first installment of this trilogy, you will absolutely be absorbed into this one and it will tear. you. apart.

So, that being said...I will end this with some quotes, since I don't want to completely ruin the book for you guys...but seriously. READ. THE. BOOKS.

"...you showed me that the difference between doing something and doing nothing is everything."

"I wish I didn't care about you walking out of here, about you alone in your hotel room or flying home tomorrow...I wish so badly it didn't have to be this way" Pulling back to look at me, "I have never loved anyone as much as I love you....but that love fucks me up, Chrissy, sand that's why it has to be this way."

I'm still diggin my girl Chrissy in he sequel to the first book.i am loving he style if writing and the message she has in this book is totally gut wrenching, eye opening and a million other cliches that will never do it justice. I cried, I laughed and I got down right mad and I laughed out loud. I feel like I was right there with Chrissy during all of this.

While I love Leo and wants to choke Kurt in the first book.....I think you may totally flip flop a few times like I did. So ram Kurt? Or team Leo? I have no idea.

The only bad thing I can say about this book is the fact that it left me hanging and I gotta wait for the 3rd book to come out. I'm still biting my nails.

Read it read it read it.....but beware you will NOT be able to put it down. I can't wait until the 3rd book comes out! Awesome read!

Oh Chrissy, Chrissy, Chrissy....That's all I could say after reading The Unexpected List. The roller coaster of highs and lows, chaos and calm had my mind and my heart in turmoil. I never thought after reading The Life List I would root for Kurt but after reading The Unexpected List, I have to say I'm a little torn between Kurt and Leo. Through all the shenanigan's though, there is real growth in all the characters that gives me hope there can be a happy ending for everyone. And I will be here, on the edge of the cliff (thanks A LOT for that!!), waiting for that ending!

there are no words for how much I loved this book and series. I am truly in love with the writing style of Chrissy Anderson. She made me laugh, cry, and sometimes both at the same time. when the book ended my heart was pounding. I am so in love with Leo to right all along with chrissy it isn't even funny. I can't wait til the next book comes out because I am constantly thinking about the story and books and can not wait to know the way it all ends. for me to still think about the stories and constantly stalk her Facebook page to find out any news means she is a Damon good writer!

Holy s**t that was intense, wow I'm speechless & wish I didn't have to wait a whole year to see how it all plays out.

What a ride, I read both books in two days and they're both amazing and well written. You feel everything that Chrissy is going through & it's true you do ask yourself what would I do in the same situation.

I couldn't put this book down, I had to find out what happened next. Just when I thought I had ruled a character out, I found myself looking for him to pop back up. I can't believe the 3rd book isn't out yet! Can't wait to see how it all ends. I know it probably won't end this way, but I'm now Team Kurt

Love Love Love

I love this series! Holy cliffhanger!! The second book did not disappoint. So many books are all rainbows and butterflies. Chrissy makes you feel like you're chatting with your besties. It's real life. It's hurt, pain and confusion that real people feel as well as the good times. I'm looking forward to the next one!

Well, Chrissy is at again. She's a bit more grown up, but has a lot thrown at her that she has to learn how to handle. I laughed, cried, hoped and even cringed at some of the things Chrissy went through this time. A great weekend read!
