Trekking through the jungle isn’t Ruth’s idea of a good time, even if her companions are hotter than hell. With her sister missing, though, she’ll do anything to find her – slog through swamps, squish giant centipedes, and fight her attraction to not one but two males intent on seduction. But when she discovers there’s more to the hunks accompanying her than meets the eye, will she accept their alter wolf egos, or completely freak?
Fate sure has a wicked sense of humor, trying to make Kendrick think the chubby human he meets in the jungle is his mate. Joke’s on him, though, because despite his preferences and attempts to stay away, he can’t help but fall for the tall and curvy Ruth. Harder to swallow, his buddy is falling for her too.
Joel knows firsthand how fickle human emotions are, but when he meets Ruth, all his best intentions get swallowed by the jungle as she worms her way into his heart – and makes him want to trust.
When Ruth’s human morals get in the way of two wolves and their need to claim what’s theirs, they’ll have to team up and show her two are so much more pleasurable than one.
Warning: Can you handle a pair of hot wolves determined to claim an unsuspecting human? Expect extreme heat and a whole lot of fun in this threesome, jungle adventure. (MFM)
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
I have to say that all the books I've read of hers this wasn't exactly my favorite. I was anxious to read it because it sounded awesome and I enjoyed the others. I just couldn't get past at how Kendrick and Joel treated her and how they regarded her as a chubby girl or too many curves and not in a good way. Is it no wonder she had low self esteem before and how they have made it worse for her. No wonder she didnt believe them when they told her she was beautiful. Sorry...she isn't stupid either she knew they were talking about her not the crocodile. Ha. Sorry they even still thought that about her after they discovered she was their mates. Kendrick was a real dick to her and disrespected her a lot for about 3/4 of the book. Ordered nobody help her and she's constantly falling and hurting herself and has trouble getting her tent up and other things. I get she needs to prove herself but still someone needed to show her how and then let her do it on her own from there on out. Joel was a little better but not by much. So, I wasn't a big fan of Kendrick and Joel. Joel you can kinda understand his nasty attitude and its more of a defense with him because his mother left him and his dad treated him like a leper. Kendrick though? No damn excuse for his behavior. Just sayin. The story with Carlie, Ruth's sister was a little unorthodox. That led me to believe she was forced at everything. So, I dunno if I even wanna read her story or not. Gah! I dunno! This book had its moments and I enjoyed some of it. I loved the ending.
Okay first of all, the book's description of Ruth is she's small breasted. The girl on the cover is NOT small breasted. Publisher - read the book before doing the cover!!
The book itself was okay. I read in the author's biography that she likes to have conflict in the romance because that's the way it usually is in real life. But there's not this much conflict or the woman would be a complete idiot. Ruth, no matter what the guys said, kept thinking she was being used. Then she would think that she should just let them have their ways, but then again she doesn't want her heart to break, however, she's already emotionally vested so it'll break anyway. And on and on and on.
I was planning reading more of this Freakn' series by the author, but I'm taking a break.
3.5* Ruth's sister is kidnapped and worried about her, unable to just sit at home and wait for news, she flies out to search for her. Kendrick and Joel, best friends, are part of the shifter search crew. Expectantly, they realize Ruth is both their mates. But she's human! While at first Kendrick was a mean asshole to Ruth, he eventually explained why and made it up to her. I didn't like Ruth's fixation on her size, and the boys, for what it's worth, did notice it, but it wasn't an issue for them. This, of course, lead to a misunderstanding at the end that needed to be remedied. This ends in a cliffhanger setting up book 6. Book 5 is Ruth's sister's story. I'm going right into Ruth's story (although I'm pretty sure I'm going to have issues with it).
GREAT story! I really enjoyed this one - although I might have to get mad for the "Mormon" crack - It was funny, but being Mormon myself, I am supposed to take offence, so I'll insert that here and move on :)
Anyways - way cute! it's nice to meet Ruth - a real down to earth Human woman who knows nothing about the shifter world.. and what's better, she's not perfect. She's too tall , and curvy. And very insecure about how she looks. So how is she supposed to feel when these two gorgeous guys keep hitting on her? Yes it's good for her ego, but she's not stupid, she knows it's not going to last!
In the beginning, Carlie, Ruth's sister was abducted out of her tent by the "Ghost Cats" of the jungle.. They slide in, and slide out leaving gold and rubies in the place of the woman they kidnapped.. romantic?? Ruth thinks so, or she did until it was her sister that went missing.
When she got to the town to try to find her sister, she got a letter giving her directions and a map to get her to her sister. In that moment, nothing meant anything more to Ruth then getting to her sister.
When Kendrick (Naomi's brother) and his best friend Joel get to the meeting spot with the other group, they find out the shifters already left without them.
Ticked off, they head into the wild jungle to find them.
When they finally arrived, they were peeved about the Human that someone had dragged along. Kendrick, the guy that's supposed to be the hed of the group demanded she goes back to the village.
Ruth has always been a shy and meek type of a girl, but there was something about Kendrick that set her off. Yes he was hot, but he was also pigheaded and stubborn.
When Kendrick learned about the map and called his boss to find out she's supposed to go with the group, he did whatever he could to make sure she didn't get any help.. not just because he didn't want her in tagging along, but because she was his mate and there was NO FREAKIN WAY he'd be able to deal with that right now.
Joel knew right away the human was his mate. But because of his mom leaving his dad, he knew exactly what it was like to be mated to a human. and he knew he had to fight the mating fever..
Along the journey, things got harder and harder (snickers) For Kendrick and Joel as they continued to ignore Ruth. Giving deathly glares to those that tried to help.
But when they finally caved in and realized that they're going to have to share her, things start getting a little easier.
After a few days of being shunned by Kendrick and Joel, Ruth didn't know what think of all the attention they were giving her. Truly they must be Horney and not having any other options available, they had to have some kind of bet going on.
Really a cute story, I enjoyed this one a lot :)
Looking forward to reading more about Carlie's story in the next book coming out in Dec :)
Kendrick & Joel have been best friends since elementary school.
Ruth is a botanist in Canada. Ruth’s sister has disappeared in the Jungle.
Kendrick & Joel have been chosen along with other shifters to find the missing sister and 2 other girls. They fear that the Ghost Jaguars have kidnapped them and forced them to mate. Normally they would not get involved, however these girls are known to be missing and have people searching for them, therefore they need to be found.
Ruth is determined to find her sister even if she has to trek through the jungle to do it. Along the way Ruth receives a strange note that basically tells her how to connect with the Shifter Search group. Ruth gets herself accepted very reluctantly into the group and they all go in search.
Joel knows right away that Ruth is his mate, even though she is human. The problem is so does Kendrick. So another 3 pairing with 2 hot shifter males and one woman. Joel and Kendrick just need to convince Ruth of this. The problem with convincing Ruth that 2 hot males are into her is that she is tall, small boobs and overweight. She does not believe them and she certainly does not believe that they will want her forever. She is just the only one available for sex. That’s what she thinks.
Being that Joel and Kendrick are shifters and male they completely forget that Ruth being human is not exactly knowledgeable in the ways of their kind. Joel and Kendrick fail to tell her that the mating bond is for life and if she is marked they are “married” and that they want her forever and love her. They forget all this and Ruth assumes that their jungle relationship is over once they return to the real world.
So after leaving the jungle Joel and Kendrick need to reassure Ruth that they are a threesome for life and that this is forever.
These books are always along the same lines with the mating and threesomes so not much to say different in that respect. This story was a little different in that they were exploring the unknown of the jungle and not sure if they would encounter the Ghost Jaguar’s. They are a myth like Big Foot. Here we get to see other shifters in their world and how it is different from the others.
The end gives you a bit of a OMG what happened and involves Stu but I am guessing that is going into the next book in the series.
Ruth's sister has been kidnapped. In the middle of a jungle with her research friends, 3 girls are kidnapped, by a group of men. Ruth is going to use the little bit of courage she has and she will save her older sister. Joel and Kendrick, best friends since childhood are on a mission. Find the secret jaguar shifter community (a legend) in a jungle where they are thought to have taken 3 girls. When the 2 guys cross paths with Ruth, a chunky, very tall and determined young women, the guys are shocked. Neither had every thought to find their mate in the middle of the jungle and neither had ever thought to share a women. Ruth convinces the men to let her join them on the journey, even though their instincts are screaming at them to get her out of the danger. She has to be the luckiest girl alive, all these gorgeous men surrounding her and exspecially Joel and Kendrick. She has no idea their attraction means a lot more than she ever would have dreamed. Ruth knows there is no way either of these men can be attracted to her...could they?
This was a great book! Again very funny situations and dynamics. The characters are very endearing and relatable. Ruth, a girl who feels she is chunky and not pretty (no women ever feels like that...lol)! So her self esteem is extremely low. So when she is attracted to 2 very hot men, she just knows that they are showing her interest just because she is all that is available. Joel and Kendrick best friends, have there own baggage. Kendrick wants to get through this mission, Joel had a neglectful father and was basically adopted by Kendricks family. The men know Ruth is human and does not know anything about the world they live in. The tension is toe curling and the sex scenes are GREAT!! I love the guys and envy Ruth!! AWESOME book! MFM scenes!!Can't wait for the next one!
Review Eve delivers another action pack hot read that will leave you wanting more. I myself loved the story and characters. If you read Jungle Freakn’ Bride, then you have to go on and read Human and Freakn’ too because this story takes you deeper into the story of the Moon Ghost tribe. I really enjoyed it and hope Eve will take us back to the Jungle one day.
Ruth is a plus size botanist. She has had some issues in the past with her size and men, so she has a hard time thinking that these men would want to keep her. I can see this becoming annoying to some, but for me it just made the character more real. Size isn't the only thing that bothers Ruth, it’s the fact they are wolf shifters so it takes her a bit of time to warm up to everything. Kendrick is a bit of a pain, but he is very loving when he isn't showing his tough side. Joel has a good reason not wanting his mate to be human, so when he learns Ruth is their mate it takes him a bit to warm up to the idea. Once these two decide Ruth is theirs, they will stop at nothing to win her even if they have to pawn themselves off as the Moon Ghost’s to win her.
As always Eve delivers a hot M/F/M ménage with anal sex. I always look forward to her sexy ménage stories because not only are they hot, Eve also adds just the right amount of sex without going over or under board with it. I recommend this to anyone who loves erotic paranormal romance.
When Ruth's sister gets kidnapped whilst in the jungle by a mysterious and possibly mythical tribe called the Moon Ghost Jaguars, she decides to check this out herself. But travelling through the jungle isn't easy, especially when two of your guides seem to hate you on first sight and are determined to scare you into running screaming back into the night and all the way home. Kendrick and Joel are tasked by the shifter council into finding the humans that have been captured, what they didn't also expect to find was their mate. Ruth sister to one of the missing women.
I really enjoyed this book, so far it is definitely my favourite in the series. I love a shy curvy heroine and I love a sexy shifter hero especially when there are two of them, it was inevitable that I would like Human and Freakn'
The story premise isn't that much different from the previous books, only this time they are traipsing through the jungle looking for a fabled tribe of jaguar shifters. The different setting did make this book stand out in the series and I loved watching Ruth grow stronger as she stuck it out, despite seeing insects the size of rats *shudders*
We are also treated to some hot menage action in this book, the temperature was definitely rising in this book and not just because they were in the jungle!
Another really entertaining read from Eve Langlais, funny, sexy and romantic, I can't wait to read the next book.
Best friends Kendrick and Joel are looking forward to their trek to rescue three kidnapped girls from the jungle. Legend has it the Ghost Jaguars kidnap young women leaving treasures of gems in there place. They are ready to recover the women and bring them home to safety, however they were not expecting the sister of one of the women to be joining them on the journey. Whats worse it looks like she is their mate, not only do they not want to share, she is human.
Ruth is used to being treated differently, after all over six foot and curvy to boot she has seen it all. Kendrick has made it clear he doesn't want her on the trip and although Joel has been a tad bit nicer, he treats her with the same disdain as Kendrick. When Kendrick and Joel change tactics and decide they can no longer ignore the mating call, Ruth doesn't understand the sudden touching, helpfulness, and flirtatious behavior believing the worst, Kendrick and Joel find it more than difficult to claim their mate.
I almost gave this one a 4 star, but I had a hard time visualizing the whole thing. Plus Kendrick was such an ass in the beginning and I felt for Ruth as a fellow fluffy person. Would reread in the future to see if it just was poor timing on my part.
This is Kendrick's story. I like Kendrick's character. Kendrick & Joel are sent by their coalition to check on some missing girls. Ruth is great, she is a bigger, plus size girl, and the sister of one of the missing girls. She is sent with a group of shifters, which she knows nothing of shifters, to search for her sister. She is instantly attrached to the guys, and Joel definatley is interested, but Kendrick is fighting it. Joel is weary because he has been hurt in the past and is scared to want something he thinks that will just hurt him, like his family have in the past. Kendrick thinks it is crazy that him and his buddy are both falling for the same girl, and plus that she is a plus size girl. Ruth is a funny, beautiful girl that think guys don't see her as anything other than a friend or random hookup. This is a very funny story of people fighting want they want and need. They do come against some obstacles that are funny and even a little scary. Definatley a quick, easy read for me. I could not put the book down.
Not bad however. .... why do the women always have to be so damn clueless? Hints upon hints yet 'she' misses them all. WTF? Fortunately or unfortunately. .. however you want to see it, I need to like and respect the heroine and this one just made me want to cup her upside her dumbass head. smart indeed bahhhhh
* I recommend reading the previous book to learn more about the family dynamics.
When three human woman get kidnapped by a clan of mysterious jaguar shifters, the shifter community sends Joel, Kendrick and their team to retrieve them and keep the shifters a secret to the rest of the world. However, when the sister of one of the girls joins their expedition, Joel and Kendrick not only find their fated mate. Ruth is determined and brave, but she doesn't know anything about the shifter community and they're walking into danger in the unpredictable jungle.
Again, this story had it's good and it's bad. First of all, a whole chunk of the story in regards of what happened to Ruth's sister is never touched upon and I felt like that truly took the rest of the story down quite a bit. The adventure of the men and Ruth in the jungle was fun, right up until the point were the two men suddenly flip the switch and start aggressively hunting Ruth. It was just too much chest thumping and waving the penis around for my liking. Not on the level of the previous books, hopefully the next one will be better.
For the vast majority of this book I was put off by the heroines complete lack in any type of confidence. She constantly called herself fat and chubby, and I think what made it worse was before they accepted her as their mate, these two were mentioning it as well. One more than the other, but it was still pretty much the main issue of the book, and I wasn't really enjoying that. She's super insecure and thinks they're shagging Her because she's the only thing available, runs away and finally sees they aren't kidding when they turn up where she is. It's a typical storyline for someone lacking self confidence. What I did like however was the jungle stuff and the tribe of jaguars. I love seeing cultures different to what I see in everyday life, and it was really cool seeing a tribe who still did ancient practises etc and I really love the concept of them so I hope I enjoy the next one. I am however a bit peeved because this ends with hints to Stu's book but it's after Ruth's sisters book. Hopefully it's worth reading we shall see.
This story was well written and preformed as were the rest in the series so far. This book had a bit more of a serious tone to the storyline than the books before. This book had a great setting, and a fair bit of adventure. These characters are totally likeable, not as playful, nor did they find themselves in humorous situations but still a great investment of your time and money.
Ok so this book cover doesn’t match up to her description but I loved the story so much. Between Kendrick, Joel and Ruth there was no shortage of laughs. I was so hoping they would turn Ruth. Carlie and her Mates and the Ghost Tribe were entertaining as well. This storyline was very good. I loved the characters too. I can’t wait to read the next one with Stu and Patricia. Eve writes such great stories. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊
I really wasn't a fan of this relationship. Kendrick was obnoxiously rude, Ruth had extremely low self esteem, and Joel couldn't seem to make up his mind if he wanted Ruth or not. Joel and Kendrick's change of heart came a lot later than I expected and Ruth's self-esteem issues dragged out almost the entire book.. her defeating attitude was quite frustrating.
Personal Preference Rating 4/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Audiobook (Audible) I liked that this was a fairly quick read. I’m glad for the change of scenery. That definitely made the book more interesting. I enjoyed the characters and the story.
This was a very good story. I enjoyed it a lot and it was a great continuation of the series.
Ruth was a great leading lady. She's beautiful, tall and curvy (as well as smart and sweet) but tends to be treated badly by men and has very low self esteem. When her sister is kidnapped she goes to the jungle to try to find her. She ends up on the expedition that Kendrick and Joel are on but isn't welcomed by them at the beginning.
Kendrick and Joel show up for the expedition and find a human woman there. They both kind of freak because they sense she's their mate and nether are thrilled at first. Kendrick because he doesn't normally like curvy women (although he comes around relatively quickly) and also because he's resistant on sharing his mate, even with his best friend.
Joel is freaked to find him mate is human because his mother was human. His mother didn't achieve a mating bond with his father. She left and and his father was a broken man afterwards. Joel didn't want the same thing to happen to him so he feared a human mate thinking another shifter (that could feel the mating bond) would be safer.
Because of their resistance they're both kind of jerks to Ruth and she doesn't take that well. Once Kendrick and Joel come to terms with their resistance to Ruth as a mate they quickly realize their attitude toward her has hurt their cause once they try to win her. It doesn't help that she's been raised a "good girl" and the idea of having both men is rather inconceivable to her. Even as she deals with the morally of it, she doesn't see any way that these two hunks would be interested in her long term. Ruth thinks they only want her because she's the only woman on the expedition (or maybe as a bet).
While Kendrick and Joel are trying to convince Ruth they want her, there's the expedition going on looking for Ruth's sister and couple other women. They run in to some issues which enable her to find her sister but Ruth, Kendrick and Joel are put in danger of being split up. While issues are being overcome, she finds out Kendrick and Joel shift in to wolves but she's ok with it. They get back to civilization but once the real world impinges, Ruth starts doubting Kendrick and Joel want anything long term and so she leaves to go home. alone. I enjoyed the ending a lot. Loved how it got resolved once Kendrick and Joel got their heads out of their butts (apparently the mating fever tends to make people suffer from bouts of relationship dumbassedness...maybe the lack of blood flow?).
This was a very enjoyable story. I think it might be the best of the series...of course there's still Stu left that hasn't found a mate and the end of this book tends to hint at Stu having his own story. When it comes out it will definitely be an auto-buy for me. I'd recommend this story. :D
