Violent abductions, crippling obsessions, and a killer with a taste for the macabre.

A vulnerable young man is attacked and thrown in the back of a van. It’s the latest in a string of attacks on those at the edges of society. But this time there’s a witness, and she knows DI Rob Loxley, and DC Scarlett Williams.

Diving into the case, they uncover more than they ever expected. But as they deal with a community living in fear and vicious gangs, a killer stalks the streets, hunting for more victims. As the violent nature of the crime becomes clear, Rob is left to wonder, why does the killer take the bodies with them?

Still reeling from the actions of the Mason gang, Scarlett has returned to work, but with a new and relentless focus on one thing; Bringing down the gang. She’ll make them pay for what they did if it’s the last thing she does.
But as the unit embark on a daring operation against the gang, will Scarlett's obsession push her to new heights, or consume her utterly?

As the abductions continue, becoming ever more brazen, the killer taunts Rob and his team with a crazy manifesto.
Rob and his team must find the killer before it’s too late.

OF ALL FLESH is a gripping and compelling new British crime thriller, perfect for fans of TG Reid, Jack Gatland and Rachel Maclean.

Of All Flesh is book 4 in the DI Rob Loxley series by A.L. Fraine. This was a great read, but it is best to read the books in order, as a couple of the back stories continue through the books. What starts off as a murder of a youth soon has the bodies piling up. The investigation skills of the EMSOU team are tested. At the same time there is the Mason crime family still up to their dirty tricks. And in the background, someone is watching. Love the characters – Rob with his family, Erica his next-door neighbour with her secrets and also DCI Nailor with his. And then there is Matilda Greenwood, the duty solicitor. It all makes for a great read.

I can’t explain how much I love this Loxley series; Of All Flesh is book 4 & can be read as a standalone but I think you should go to the beginning & binge read the lot.

Loxley is a DI in the East Midlands Special Operations Unit & although his family are well known criminals, he tries his best to keep them at a distance. In this book, he is faced with an abduction, random murders, violent robbery & major drugs deals.

The characters continue to develop through these books & I love how we find out a little more of their backstories each time. The fast pace is relentless & I need to catch my breath before book 5.

This is the fourth in the DI Rob Loxley series however can be read as a standalone. Loxley is a DI in the East Midlands Special Operations Unit although came from a family that are known gang leaders in the Nottingham area. Although cutting all ties with the family when he was seventeen there are some determined to prove otherwise which is just one of the many challenges facing him.

Add to that a number of random murders, a separate murder in a gang run estate, young wannabes involved in a violent shop robbery and a major drugs deal happening on his patch. The scene is set in an all action fast paced thriller which is wonderfully put together by the author who pulls you in and doesn't let go until the book is finished and even then leaves you gasping for more. I for one cannot wait for book five to come out!

Wow! What can I say about this well written read which will do it justice? Everything you want in a thriller/police procedural is here and more. I became totally immersed in the lives of Rob and Scarlett as they pursue the Mason criminal gang. Throw in an undercover officer, bent copper and some abductions into the mix and the team are working flat out. The author has a talent for drawing the reader in to the lives of the characters and building suspense right until the end with his clever, well plotted and very good characterisation. I can't say any more for fear of spoilers! Just enjoy the read as much as I did. Thanks to the author for my ARC.

This series just gets better and better. Rob and the team are still trying to bring down the Mason gang and Bill gains a new ally in his vendetta albeit on the quiet. What starts off as an abduction and killing of a teenager soon escalates and wait until you realise the motivation behind it!

I love how this series is progressing with each book. I enjoy how the characters are portrayed and how we get a layer of secrets peeled away each time. The corrupt police saga continues and a revelation in this regard totally took me by surprise. Can't wait to see what's in store for Rob in the next book.

When a fifteen year old boy’s death is witnessed by a homeless lady, she contacts Rob and Scarlett to let them know what she has seen.

With a local gang causing trouble in the area, the team have a lot to deal with.

Bill is still hell-bent on proving that Rob is corrupt, even though he’s been warned to leave him alone.

I like the characters in the story, the characters are interesting and have their flaws, as we all do.

This is another jaw dropping book in this great series.
It has turned into a firm favourite of mine and I look forward to more from the author.

Absolutely love this series. Not previously reviewed any as I’m a novice at finding my way round web sites

Well written with good local knowledge. Brilliant how the characters represent RH merry band especially the the twist with one of them at the end, had be fooled into thinking other than what I expected (trying not to give any spoilers) excellent story line with a sub story in the background. Looking forward to number five

Masons trying to bribe Loxley

Another great book by A.L.Fraine. Rob Loxley has had got no connection to the Masons, even though they are family by blood, he has distanced himself from them since he turned 17, recently they all his family were on his apartment, uninvited. Meanwhile in spite of his families tactics and Bill who keeps trying to find evidence to put him away, Rob is getting on with his work. Excellent book.

Loxley and his team are back for plenty more murder and mayhem in book 4. Lots of intrigue going on as well and who can Loxley really trust amid the gang fights and sociopaths surrounding him. A good solid page turning story and the author leaves you wanting more!!

Thanks to the author for the ARC to review.

The Reveal

A lot more strange going on and of course the Mason case gathers more ground as we find out just how they have dug their claws into every aspect of the police.
