After a game of chase with his brother, Bobby, Sammi is thirsty and goes in search of a drink. Finding a pond, he gets more water than expected when a shout makes him fall in ! He has to go home, wet and dirty, to face his mother’s anger and his family’s laughter. Until his mother tells him that he wouldn’t be who he is if he didn’t get into mischief, and she loves him no matter what, he is hurt and upset.
The Editing is perfect with nothing to distract the reader, there are great characterisations and the dialogue feels as though you were actually there. The plot is fantastic for any age and it moves at a satisfactory pace. The Illustrations really bring the text to life.
I award 5 Stars.
