Another collection of books written by Ms. Carolyn McCray. One great thing about this collection is that you get a good variety on what Ms. McCray has penned.
To start this collection off:
7 Fold of Winter: A YS+ Epic Fantasy
Some books take a little bit to get "warmed" up. With this book, that was the case. At first, I didn't know if I was even going to really be able to finish it. I'm not really into this much fantasy. I was not disappointed by sticking it out and finishing the book. This book puts you into a world of magic, mystical creatures, Snow Maidens, Fairies and other beings.
This was written mainly for younger audiences. Normally, Ms. Mcray pens a book that is full of blood, guts, crime and horror. This was more easy going. (That is what it was, it was not a kick in the face as Plain Jane or her other books!) I would typically stear away from this genre of books...but I have been drawn into this new kind of book. I really do think I need to read more of these to see if it's something I'm going to like. In all it was a great story.
The Rush: A prequel MoonRush Short Story Just finished "The Rush." Set in the future of 2049, the world has changed some. At least we have hover cars! We also have star diamonds that are found on the moon. Mia accidentally discovers that a body scanner she developed to read human emotions, also is able to detect these rare diamonds. Now what is she going to do with her new invention?
Great lead into the 15 chapter book The MoonRush.
Rook: Let's Stop the Apocalypse, People This was my favorite of the books. So many wonderful characters in this book. Rook, who is the so-called leader of a motley crew of peace keepers (if that is what you want to call them). You have my favorite, Beauty, the cross dressing handler. Tomahawk, who is pissed at Rook for getting him pulled back into the fight to protect the world. Fanny, the child in a woman's body. This is such a great story of how they all have something wonderful to bring to the fight. They are basically fighting the biblical God vs Satan war. I can't give you anymore hints than that...READ THIS BOOK! It's worth it!
Ambush: A 30 Pieces of ilver Prequel Short Story Is a short story that introduces you to the well oiled team of Brandt. Leading a crew of military experts, you learn how the dynamics, personalities and what makes them tick. Excellent book that leads into a even more excellent series called Betrayed.
Anatomy: A Plain Jane Prequel Short Story I wouldn't skip over the book Anatomy by any means. It gives you insight into the main characters in the following book, Plain Jane. Anatomy was actaully pretty good. It was faced paced. Very insightful in how the characters meet and start to mesh. I was actually hoping that there was more to it. Then I started the next book in the series and my thoughts and dreams were answered.
Pet Holiday Miracles Mr. Jack O. Lantern Christmas "Frick and "Frack" Pumpkin Pie Rambo Love Birds
Pet Holiday miracles is a series of short stories about animals. All are cute stories.
Pet Whisperer...er...rrr: Book 1 in the Animal' Talk Back Series This was a unique book. As a dog lover, I was curious to see where this book was headed. I have seen the shows were people say they can speak to animals. I've got my doubts, but then, who am I to judge.
This book was cute. It's a short story of how one dog is protective of his owner. It goes along with the theory that some pets resemble the owners. It's all about humans loving those animals that we let into our lives and love as much as our own children.
Hacked: An Encrypted Prequel Short Story This is the prequel to the beginning of the Robin Hood Hacker series. In this short introduction story, we learn of Ronnie, Quirk, Warp and Zach. We learn some back story to Zach and his relationship with his mom and fiance. We also learn how he is hell bent on catching the Robin Hood Hacker. Excellent short story to warm you up to the big book that follows...Encrypted.

The stories in This collection were not stiries I enjoyed. I sampled the first 3 novellas and gave each up after 10 to 15 pages. They did not hold my interest, the characters didn't seem to have any personality or substance and the storylines seemed to drag and were repetitious.
Not sure if the problem was my taste or if the combination was poorly put together, but I am giving up on the remaining stories. I hope other people enjoy it more than I did. Hate to diss something just because I didn't like it. But in this case, I think the collection was poorly chosen.
OMG!! I cannot get enough of Carolyn McCray.. Thank the stars I got a kindle as it gave me access to authors that are hard to find in my area..
