The Alien's Omega #2.5

The Alien's Pregnant Omega

Rate this book
Alex

I'd known what I was signing up for when I decided to stay with the Alien who had kidnapped me. And while life with Saar is good in some ways, the fact that I'm knocked up has made everything harder.

Maybe I'm an over-emotional wreck. If the way Saar keeps treating me like I'm about to explode is any indication, I probably am. Then again, it might be the fact that I'm the only human male in known history to suddenly develop a uterus and I feel like my body and worse—my baby—have turned into a science experiment.

Saar

Navigating life with a human omega as my mate has been challenging from the start. As of yet, I have been finding it difficult to understand Alex's needs. I want to make him happy, to please him, but the things that he wants don't make any sense to me.

Add to that the human doctor that he insists on meeting, his disregard for my opinions on the matter, and then my best friend running into the wilderness with yet another stolen human and I am unsure whether I should be forcing anything to be my way. After all, we alphas have a bad track record with human omegas.

The Alien's Pregnant Omega is an accompanying novella set in The Alien's Omega series. It takes place simultaneously with Devin and Eisa's story and should be read directly after the second book, The Alien's Runaway Omega . This novella is technically number 2.5 in the series and sets up the third book.

Note, to understand this novella, you have to read both The Alien's Kidnapped Omega and The Alien's Runaway Omega.

It is not necessary to read this novella before reading book three, The Alien's Defiant Omega .

This novella takes place after The Alien's Kidnapped Omega and during The Alien's Runaway Omega. I really loved Alex and Saar, so it was lovely revisiting them and seeing what happened after their HEA. Seeing how they are handling being mated, pregnancy and differences that come with being in a interspecies relationship.

Alex and Saar are just as in love, but things aren't all perfect. There's a bit of a clash due to Alex feeling like an oddity (being a pregnant man), Saar being too overprotective, and just general pregnancy related feelings. However, I love how they get to reaffirm their love for one another and we get a cute ending.

Overall it was an adorable quick read, and I enjoyed it. I am so excited for the third book The Alien's Defiant Omega can't wait!

This book overlaps with book 2, so we see Eisa and Devin's relationship unfold through Alex and Saar's eyes.

We're also privy to Alex and Saar going through some growing pains as a couple.

Alex is understandably nervous about being pregnant, especially since he's treated like a science experiment by human doctors.

And Saar is befuddled as to why the baby needs its own space and isn't being as supportive as he could be.

No worries because they talk things out, compromise, and come out stronger on the other side.

I want the third book right this minute. It's going to be a lot of fun to watch a human alpha and nassa omega bond.

It was nice to catch up with Alex and Saar in this short novella. It helped to shed some light on the turmoil between Alex and Saar in the previous book. I’m glad to know what was going on, and I am glad they were able to have a better understanding of each other as they both navigate Alex’s pregnancy. Alex was just so overwhelmed with his new life, and Saar couldn’t understand what the issue was. I’m glad that they both were able to communicate what they were feeling to each other, so all of them, including the baby, could be happy. I just wish Alex would have the baby already. I want to see that sweet little alien.

The only thing I didn’t care much was the recap of the previous book in this novella. I don’t mind seeing the same scenes in different POVs if it offers a different perspective on the scene, but the recaps here were basically word for word of the previous book. It wasn’t a bad thing, I just didn’t feel like it was needed.

I’m so excited for the next book and to see Blaine again. I like that man, and I’m interested to see him fall for a little omega alien.

This addition was completely pointless.

I'm quite disappointed, but I'll rate it with 2.75⭐ anyway, because I really like this other world the author has built.

This book was a word-for-word retelling of Eisa and Devin's book, but from Alex and Saar's POV . You can skip their book, because you have everything in here! 🤦

It makes no sense. I thought this book is going to continue after the events of the previous one, but it didn't, actually we have no new information or events happening, Alex didn't give birth yet and nothing changed within the nassa community.

I felt like humans wanted to alert to some problems and bring changes and we were at least going to get one small step in that direction, but nothing. The only new thing here was announcing Blaine's arrival.

Saar and Alex are, again, wonderful together, but this book belonged to them, not to Eisa and Devin. At least Saar seems wonderful again, he was too much of a bimbo in the previous installment, but even so, his and Alex' relationship and life together could've been so much more developed here.

And now we're getting to Blaine's book, now here's a character I definitely don't like... Ugh.
I am hoping to get that albino nassa's book, Zafe, was it? Yeah, him. He sounds interesting.

YAY, more Alex & Saar!!

Call me biased but I want this whole series to just be focused on them; they're just so cute! I LOVED this sweet little novella. I really liked that the author used very realistic human emotions to develop their relationship. It makes perfect sense that Alex would be feeling objectified and alienated and I just wanted to hug him!

The entirety of this novella lines up with Book 2; there's even some scenes repeated word for word, but through Saar/Alex's POV. While it was enjoyable to hear their inner dialogues during those scenes, I don't think all of them were necessary - some could have just been summarized.

I ALSO really, really, really wish we got more of their story with Alex's pregnancy further developed. I will be soooo sad if they don't get another novella with late-stages of pregnancy/birth scenes. Or even them raising their child - ugh, I just want more! LOL Especially if we get some of it in the third book but not from their direct POVs. So, fingers crossed!

I'm interested to see how Blaine's story is going to go. I know he's Alex's friend or whatever but as of now, I'm totz on Saar's side with that whole thing.

Loved catching up with Alex and Saar. It was cool to see the entire Devin and Eisa debacle from a different perspective. It seems Alex needed Devin's friendship as much as Devin needed his when they met. I love how they're friends.

Unfortunately mating issues happen with humans and alien pairings, just like between married humans. Poor Alex. He just needed to feel his humaness wasn't being erased or ignored. And Saar couldn't understand how that wasn't a rejection of him. I thought it was so sweet that Saar goes to his parents for advice. He admires and respects their mating so much.

I also found it interesting that when mating problems occur, if they last too long, the council gets involved to help mediate the couples' issues. I'm waffling back and forth on my opinion on that from a human perspective. Would it be helpful when on the rare occasion there's a lasting fight between my husband and I that people we admire meet to calmly help with the matter? Or would I get even angrier that the fight lasted that long and blame my husband for us having to air out our business? I can't decide, but to be completely honest I'm leaning more toward the latter when it pertains to me.

I already have book 3 on my TBR and I'm excited to read what adventure the author has for us next. It's a human alpha and an alien omega pairing this time. I have a good idea that the aliens are not going to like a human alpha soiling one of their own precious omegas. Not one bit. It's gunna be good!

Не зовсім зрозуміло, для чого була написана ця частинка серії, якщо в ній авторка здебільшого просто переповідала події першої і другої книг, і лише тріііішеечки уваги приділила проблемам у стосунках Алекса і Саара💔

2.5 stars.

I enjoyed a few things about this novella. I liked that Alex isn’t shy about wanting sex or talking about it. I liked that even when they fought the MCs wanted to work on things. The nassa thinking maybe human babies need cribs to keep them contained by bars. I also struggled with some things.

Some parts of scenes and some dialogue were directly copied from book 2, or close enough that it felt the same as reading the same scene in book 2. It felt unnecessary.

I don’t know why I didn’t expect the “pregnancy hormones change all your thoughts and personality no matter what and it’s nonsensical but just humor the crazy pregnant person” angle, but that’s on me for not anticipating it. I didn’t like it, but I should have known. Basically that’s this novella. I think I’m going to call it here for this series. I tend to want to read omegaverse for gender nonconformity, not for rigid gender stereotypes to be emphasized in a sci fi novella. Again, this is not as brutal as some books in this genre but I think I’m full up on gender stereotypes thanks.

A Short & Sweet Sci-Fi Story with Mpreg,
about Alex (human) and Saar (nassa) from book one.
On the planet Mukhana, they're mated and pregnant.

★ These are the only MCs I like in this series.

The plot centers around their cultural differences, which includes Alex's job and his pregnancy. I was disappointed that Alex didn't have his baby in this novella.

I found out that Alex has his baby in book three, but based on the MCs in that one and what I've seen in a few reviews, I won't be reading it. The author shifts the world from a great place to an oppressive one for omegas, and I don't like how everything is altered just to create conflict. Most Omegaverse books/series are dark & bleak, and I was happy to finally find one that wasn't.

🅂🄿🄾🄸🄻🄴🅁🅂 🛑 🄱🄴🄻🄾🅆

Back to this book, these are the MCs' issues:
▪️ Saar wants Alex to be a traditional omega who's pampered and taken care of. Alex wants to keep working and have some independence.
▪️ Alex is scared to see a nassa doctor because they rely on natural remedies instead of technology. As the first human male to become pregnant, he wants a human doctor who can scan him and ensure everything is alright. Unfortunately, he feels like a human experiment, which is dehumanizing.
▪️ Alex wants to keep having sex, but Saar is afraid of hurting Alex and the baby.

The Resolutions:
🔸Alex lets Saar do some pampering (like carrying him), and he agrees to take some time off from work.
🔸Alex finally agrees to see a nassa doctor, after he was studied while naked by a human doctor and medical students.
🔸Saar lets Alex take the lead when it comes to sex, trusting that he knows how much he can handle.

Alex: It was funny how much my mindset had shifted lately. I had been so determined to keep things the same, to be me, the strong, independent guy who had done everything on my own for years... Now, I was feeling like my eyes had been opened. There was nothing wrong with Saar trying to care for me or protect me; in fact, I liked that about him. And he had been right about the doctor at least. Now that I had agreed to stop seeing the human one, a weight had lifted from my shoulders. I couldn't control everything that was happening. I just had to trust the process.

It was nice to know that no matter what happened, we would always find common ground between our species, our mismatched cultures, and our soul-deep bond.

🔹Alex is letting his hair grow long, and getting used to wearing omega robes that look like dresses.
🔹It was decided to keep human government / military off the planet. To no surprise, they're too demanding.
🔹Alex asked Blaine (friend from book 1) to come to the planet and do his job while he's on maternity leave.

Eisa and Devin from book 2, have their story run parallel to this one. I didn’t finish book 2 because I thought it too rushed, ridiculous and poorly written. However, they were great as minor characters, and their story was better when it was briefly told.

2.5 stars rounded up because I appreciate that Sway wrote this at all.

I read this back-to-back with "The Alien's Runaway Omega" and that may not have been the right decision. An awful lot of the dialogue here is lifted straight from that--which makes sense, given that the plots are running parallel, but it ended up making it feel very repetitive (not great most especially for a novella, since there's not a lot of maneuver room to being with). I also didn't think that the scenes with Devin and Eisa actually added a lot; sure, it was lovely to see Alex happy to see another human, but there wasn't a lot of narrative addition to the stuff that I either got outright or could easily infer from "Runaway." Those scenes felt like filler, honestly.

What I did like, though, was all the other stuff that focused on how a human man suddenly being pregnant with an alien mate would freak you the f*ck out. I'm aware that it's a literary device and I shouldn't think too hard about it (for a number of reasons) but I love that Sway decided to take on "well how would this work?" The way Alex is learning to deal with his body (as is Saar), the way Saar continues not to understand all Alex's hangups (because why would he but also respect remains important), and the way Alex's mindset is shifting away from "humans do all the things the right way" to a recognition that humans are often unkind to the things we discover are wonderful threads to follow. It's worldbuilding character development, and even if Alex felt like a bit of a wilting maiden here, the fact that he gets to wrestle with this is delightful. It didn't hold me quite as much as the main two books, but this definitely makes me want to see what comes of the rest of the series.

This is a fun mpreg/alien romance read that bridges Bk 2 & 3 in The Alien's Omega series. Alex and Saar are featured in Bk 1 in the series, as the first interspecies couple on the planet to mate and have a baby together. Alex is a human man, an expert in the study of alien cultures, who mated with Saar and then, surprising, became pregnant.

Alex's pregnancy is the main focus of this book, although it does overlap frequently with scenes from Bk 2, told in a different perspective. He wants to use human doctors, but is increasingly finding them too clinical and analytical. He is also having a significant and uncomfortable issue with Saar.

I enjoyed this story, as it shone more light into Alex's experiences as a pregnant human male. Also, it wasn't just a retelling of major points in Bk 2, but actually added some details. If you're reading this series, this is one book you won't want to miss.

Honestamente, me aburrí.

Repetitive

For the person that binged the first two books in the series plus this novella, too. I don’t usually binge series cause it often impacts negatively my enjoyment. Too much of something and I can grow restless or bored, etc. But I just couldn’t help myself with this series, though I’m leaving the third book for some other time.

BUT reading “The Alien’s Pregnant Omega” continuously after the second installment proved not to be a good idea, especially with the way the behind-the-scenes story is written. It has repeated scenes, dialogue to dialogue, word to word, from “The Alien’s Runaway Omega”, with Alex’s or Saar’s POVs, which, frankly, is not a recipe to keep a reader interested. The beginning and the end of the novella, and some single scenes, are new, and great, and kept me going forward with reading, but I can’t help thinking it could be done better, and more enjoyable to EVERYONE, binge-readers included, because I’m definitely not the only one that read the series that way.

Pregnancy familiar and new

A great side novella! This absolutely must be read in order as not only is it a continuation of Saar and Alex's story, but it is their scenes in conjunction with book 2 but this time told from their point of view. It gives the reason for all of the tension and concerns that they had in book 2. It is the fears of new parents mixed in with all the added concerns of mixed race, health concerns, and prejudices. At the same time it is the joy of finding someone the same, as Alex gets to meet another human omega, mixed in with the fear of rejection and the worry of selfishness for that desire. All those mixed emotions and through it is Alex and Saar seeking to understand, support, and love one another. Lovely addition;

Rated 2.5, rounded up to 3 stars. I heard that this was just the second book but from Alex and Saar's perspective, I cannot confirm as I have not yet read the second book, but if that is truly the case then I can see how that would disappoint a lot of readers. That being said it does explain why I felt something was lacking in this novella, it just felt as if its existence wasn't justified by the somewhat underwhelming content. The only thing I can think of that I liked about it was when Saar finally realized in regards to Alex's frenzied attempts at building a crib for their little one. Alex explained where he was coming from and Saar simply being there for his mate instead of trying to inhibit any action of his was sweet to see.

🌟 Loved this!

Sienna did a great job showing the differences and difficulties that can occur because of cultural misunderstandings. This was also very realistic in showing how it affected him being the first human male to become pregnant. Don't worry, there are still sweet and sexy times too!
This is a great novella that must be read after book two since this story is in the same timeline. What I say next is definitely a *spoiler* but I think it's an important one...

*The baby is not born in this book. I am assuming that the next book, which is already out, will be when that occurs.

This novella reminded me of those episodes of a TV show that will summarize what has been going on for like the mid-season or full season of a show.

I enjoyed it because you got to catch up with Alex and Saar and see Devin and Eisa's story from a different perspective. You also were reintroduced to Blaine, who is going to be one of the main characters in the third book.

Overall, I really like this series. It's funny and heart-warming. And I hope we get to see or hear about Alex and Saar's baby being born.

3.5 Stars.

I half want new covers for these books, half don’t, because I can’t stop cracking up at them. The maternity top. The boobs. The blissfully unaware stock photo model. I need this preserved forever.

I’m loving the series. The writing quality doesn’t match the cover quality, and that’s what’s upsetting.

But I will say, I had hoped for more exclusive Alex/Saar scenes in this novella. It’s a lot of rehashing what happened in book 2 instead. Still really cute!

More of Alex and Saar

This is a great series. The books are each about a different couple but the characters and story lines are interconnected.

This book continues Alex and Saar's story while combining the timeline with Devin and Eisa's story. Alex is the first human male to be impregnated by an alien. Although it is a very complicated situation for Alex who is emotional between the pregnancy hormones and the isolation of first not having other humans around and then only having Devin, this story just highlights the tremendous love Saar and Alex have for each other.

No rating - This is basically a rehash of the second book and a prelude to the third. So, if you’re expecting to see or read about the baby it’s very limited and nothing new is brought forth.

It was nice to be back in the world and be reintroduced to the powerful connections each alpha has for its omega.

***(Slight Spoiler)

I was hoping for a new storyline where we got to meet the baby but no such luck…

Ah, when the happily ever after in a cross-cultural romance in which nobody actually had enough time to get to know anybody and now you're stuck having a baby with someone with seriously divergent values that you didn't know about because you decided not to talk about how your cultures were different before you moved forward with your relationship turns out not to be so happily ever after after all.
