Achintya Kumar Sengupta (19 September, 1903 – January 9, 1976) was a Bengali poet, novelist and editor. After Tagore and Sharat Chandra, he was one of the writers of the modern era in Bengali literature. In 1921, his first poem was published in Probashi patrika under the pseudonym ‘Niharika Debi’. Then he got special achievement in novels and short stories writing. ‘Bede (1928) was first written novel of his and it is known as a prominent novel in modern Bengali literature for its organic, composition stance and formatting issues. There is reflected modernity a very strong way through his writings. Main Content of his compositions were the lives of ordinary working people. He wrote more than seventy books and his notable books are- novels: Kakjyosna, Protham Prem, Bibaher Cheye Boro, Prachir O Pantor, Protham Kadamphul, poetry books: Amabasya, Amra, Priya O Prithibi, Nil Akash, Uttarayan, Biography: Param Purush Sri Sri Ramkrishna, Bireshwar Bibekananda, Story book: Tutaphuta, Kat-Khar Kerosin, Chashabhusha, Ekratry etc.
