Crossing Every Line

Rate this book
Falling in love with his stepfather’s daughter was off-limits…

Shane Justice's life fractured in a moment of grief. Then at the reading of his stepfather's will he realized that was only the beginning.

The company he helped build was bankrupt.

The man who raised him like a son lied to him for years.

His best friend—also a liar.

After playing it safe all his life he's left with an empty bank account and a half ownership stake in a bed and breakfast over 3000 miles away.

With a stranger.

His stepfather had a daughter he never mentioned. And now he and Kendall were expected to run The Heron together.

In a small town in upstate New York of all places.

To make matters worse, she is exasperating, sexy, and drives him to the brink of insanity. He can't stop thinking about her, wanting her, or touching her.

They have nothing except one another and a passion that defies all sense and logic.

Except Kendall has a secret too.

Will this be the one that crosses every line?

Author's Note: While this story doesn't take place in Brothers Three Orchard, Shane and Kendall's best friends' story sure will!

3.9 Stars, Just Missed 4 Stars

I enjoyed this book. I liked the situational tension, as well as the sexual tension between the two main characters. I really loved the road trip and how it brought the twosome out of their proverbial shells. I love that Shane becomes very Alpha-possessive over his Sunshine. I love that Kendall loves his pet name for her. The steam factor was through the roof!

But the reason it missed 4 Stars was I'd like to thank the author for the epilogue. I ♥ epilogues.

The book also has a unique set up which you can read in:

THE BLURB. Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
You know, that paragraph or five up there by the book's cover that gives you a synopsis without giving away all the enjoyment a person reading the book for the first time might want to experience, while reading it for the first time.
This is why I do not rehash plot in reviews.

Please also note my cunning use of Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Thanks to Nicci for the recommendation. Smooches!

Suspended by Taryn Elliott; where do I begin? Maybe I should keep it simple and tell you to go out and get yourself a copy and save you the trouble of having to read through my whole narrative to arrive at this very conclusion ;)….yep it was that GOOD!

Shane and Kendall meet at Larry’s Justice’s will reading:
“Who the fuck are you?” Hazel eyes bore into her. The gold seemed to glow with all the seething anger that was boiling inside him.
Her skin buzzed as if energy were roiling out of him in its purest form. “I’m Lawrence Justice’s daughter,” she whispered.
He hovered over her. “He doesn’t have a kid. He only has me.”
“You’re my brother?” She recoiled to the back of the chair. No. No, he couldn’t be her half brother.
He reared back as if she’d slapped him. “No. I’m Larry’s stepson, but he raised me as his.”
Her father had left her but stayed for this man? She hadn’t thought she could feel any more pain when it came to Lawrence Justice, but she’d been wrong. God, so wrong.
Shane looked up at Mr. Murray. “She has no hold on anything of Dad’s. I didn’t even know about her.”
“That’s because he left us when I was five.”
Larry’s will names Shane and Kendall as co-owners of the Heron, Kendal’s home. When Shane realizes he has lost everything to debts owned by Justice construction his only option is to head out east with Kendal and start afresh at the Heron… and so begins their road trip from California to New York.

Taryn writes such beautifully well-rounded characters.
He was so stoic, so incredibly closed off until she had her hands on him. The minute they met skin to skin, he was hers.
I loved Shane’s character; he was one grouchy sexy guy…and all that pent-up growling sure made my toes curl. Yep Shane you can growl at me anytime… ;) Kendal was a ray of Sunshine…the word vivacious best describes her character. Together these two were combustible, they could barely keep their hands off each other. Literally and figuratively ;)
He just knew his willpower and Kendall didn’t live in the same zip code.
Suspended was one smoking Scorching HOT read but what sets this book apart from being just another erotic romance for me was the depth to the story and the characters. Don’t get me wrong there was lots of sex and sexy time…LOTS but this book was also quite emotional in that it had an underlining thread of ‘family’ and everything that word encompasses running through it.

You already know I loved it, yes I did! If you like your romances super blazing hot and your stories with an emotional connection this book is a must read!

First off, the cover: HOT! Book covers are uber-important, it puts me in the right frame of mind to get lost in the story and this cover worked, no question. Also, it was YUM!

Taryn's first book - Uncross Your Heart - will always be my favourite of all her books (4 now and counting!) but Suspended is now a close second. And this is mainly because of the book's female lead - Kendall Proctor, B&B owner, the forgotten daughter, eater of snacks. I got her, I really did. And here's the strange bit, of all Taryn's books, this is the first time, the female lead got to me instead of the male lead.

Undoubtedly, Shane's story was pretty amazing too and he's definitely in my Fictional Men Harem - hello, good with his hands? No brainer there ;) but it was Kendall and her vulnerability that kept me engrossed.

The story of Shane and Kendall follows them on a roadtrip across the US and this again was an element that I liked about this book because I'm someone who loves roadtripping and this was wonderful to read about. The fact that Kendall marked places she wanted to visit was endearing.

I'm hoping that Kain, Shane's best friend has a story of his own because there was a point when I wanted to know more about Kain then Shane, Kain was that mesmerising.

Love, love, love this book! Can't wait to do a re-read and get myself lost in Shane and Kendall's roadtrip romance again.

Solid 4.5. Loved this book. I have to admit that I got a little frustrated with Shane... he is grouchy and moody. But really- what Alpha doesn't get grouchy and moody?! Even tho he was "Oscar" he still called Kendall "Sunshine" and that was awesome.
The chemistry between Shane and Kendall was scorching hot. Solidly written. I'd like to read more by this author and I'm definitely looking forward to Bells and Kain's story.

Oh this was so much fun and love! I just enjoyed this one from beginning to end. I seem to be on a road trip sort of streak, this one is as much focused on that but it is a huge part of the story. Being my first book from Taryn Elliott I must say I like her writing, her story is full of life and the characters are endearing and have real life quality to them. The romance aspect was definitely here and I just liked how the two main characters relationship.

What couldve been a really terribly awkward and painful kind of start at a will reading, that throws them in each others path. So Kendall's home for the last somewhat years is now split with Shane, a man that grew up under her father's care. As a first time meeting and oh yikes they are both on the defensive. Understandably hurt and surprised by her biological father's new found life and now the mess left behind. Shane is just as put off, these two are in a world of upset and yes left to resolve it on their own.

Hence the cross country trip to the property begins. Shane was so grouchy and surly to start with earning the cute Oscar nickname (the grouch). But we see further on this moody and grumpy guy is a actually a huge teddy bear and just a hard time expressing himself and his feelings. Kendall is just adorable, smallish but she has her claws out and isnt afraid to show it. Fiercely independent and strong, but she also has a side that's softer and more vulnerable too. The fact she likes Sam and Dean is plus points too!

I loved watching their I dont care-youre-bickering- on your own relationship turn into working together, enjoying the view, getting to know each other into a scorching chemistry cant get enough of each other. These two are so lovely, Shane was so fighting his own feelings of bemusement, awe and joy being around Kendall. That girl is infectious, with her spirit and go getting attitude about everything in her path. Obviously they are good for the other and balance each other out, she's got lots of heart and he's has the brawn so to speak.

From California to New York, it's definite one heck of a ride. Yes, there's loads of steam you need a ice water and a fan. But there's a lot of story and heart too, their emotions growing and the feelings that are hard to define at first reach that point of no return. Kendall and Shane's relationship has the sweet, sass and fun, it was that road trip that changed it all.

I like Taryn Elliott's writing style, its fun and it has a sense of joy. It has a storytelling aspect that isnt draggy and captures emotions, scenes well. The drama had you just on the edge but still rooting on our characters. One of those books thatll be a good reread when you need some feel good and fall in love kind of stories.

*3.5 Stars*

Suspended was quite an enjoyable read. I liked the characters overall and thought that they were well-rounded characters. I really adored Kendall. I liked her witty remarks, her attitude and spunk. Shane, although he can be a little grouchy, was sexy nonetheless. I thought that they made a great coupling and had amazing chemistry. They also had one hell of a sexy road trip romance!

However, while I enjoyed the first part of the book, the middle to the end dragged for me as I felt the pacing slowed way down. At that point, it was harder for me to get through the book. It just felt too long and drawn out. Furthermore, while the first several sex scenes were deliciously hot, it got a bit boring and repetitive for me as the story progressed.

Despite that, I thought that Suspended was still a fairly enjoyable read overall. Now, I’m curious about Kain and Bells and if they will get their own book. It’s one that I’ll look forward to reading if Ms. Elliott does decide to write their story.

Such a sweet book!
I loved Shane's gruff personality and Kendall's bright one.
They can barely keep their hand off each other, and the steam scenes are hot and loving at the same time.
Def a must read

I am so frustrated, I loved the premise of this book... but... but this was a DNF for me. I just didn't get why he felt he had to uproot his life and move across the country for a 50% share in something that he really shouldn't have been entitled to. He is an adult... just get on with your own life. What an arse. Sighs... a lot.

This review was originally posted on The Book Tart. I also filmed a vlog spazzing out about how much I love this book! http://thebooktart.com/new-fiction-re...

Oh! I did not want this story to end. This is one of those books that makes me want to jump up and down and shout "Do you read romance? Read Taryn Elliott!" I did call a few friends after I finished Suspended and tell them how much I love! love! loved it. Taryn Elliott fills her pages with characters with who live and breath and I feel like I would recognize them in real life.

Shane. Shane Shane! I loved Shane. Kendall nicknames him Oscar, as in The Grouch. ;) He's grumpy and deep and feels so much and doesn't always know how to express that or connect with his feelings. And Kendall? I adored her. She's strong and independent and used to fending for herself. She also loves Supernatural and snacks and has a vulnerability and hope to her that I admired.

They are thrown into a very painful situation at the start of the story. They meet at the reading of her biological father's will. He abandoned her when she was little and started a new family and adopted Shane! Meep! Neither of them knew about the other. So they have to deal with that shock on top of finding out that "their" father left them Kendall's property in New York to share. I was grieving for the both of them and wished I could fix everything... But they have to work it out together.

I adored Kendall's attitude and decision to throw caution to the wind and act on the blistering chemistry between her and Shane and have a fling. I loved her humor and heart. I got a kick out of Shane's bemusement and awe at Kendall's generosity of spirit and passion for life and how it starts to thaw him and help him reconnect with the feelings he had walled off. If Kendall didn't want him, I'd keep him. :D

Their journey across the country from California to New York is a journey of more than miles. They learn more about each other and their feelings grow deeper. They also burn up the sheets and the truck bench and the sleeping bags. *swoon* There's lots of heat in Suspended. Like steamy Oh My Goodness I need a fan hot! Yes. There's explicit language, but the sensual scenes are always full of emotion and build your knowledge of the characters. They are occasionally wicked and occasional sweet and always delicious!

Here's just a few of my fav bits...

♥ “Seriously. If he doesn't stop walking away from me, I’m going to toss him through your glass window and see if he’d like an up close and personal taste of the ocean.”

♥ “More like I’ve watched way too many episodes of Supernatural and don’t know what’s in those trees.”

♥ Dark eyes dilated, and her mouth opened. She flicked her tongue along her bottom lip. He groaned, lowering his head until their lips lined up. A hint of peppermint teased the air between them. He brushed his nose along hers and breathed her in. She stilled in his arms. Soft. So freaking soft and lovely.

♥ Kendall snapped her gum as she waited in line. Nothing, grouchy, a hint of friendly, then stony, and then that. How the hell was she supposed to keep up? Just when she thought she understood the unspoken rules between them, he pulled that bullshit on her.

♥ Kendall crashed in on him like an Australian Gold Coast undertow. The waves were amazing, but the ride was full of warning signs and breakers that could snap him in half. And like surfing, this woman was just as addicting.

♥ Thinking was highly overrated. The attraction between them was just part of the love she already felt for him. She’d been in the safe kind of love before. It was warm and reassuring and lovely. But it paled in comparison to what she felt with Shane.

I love this book! I said that before but I will keep saying it. I love the sense of life and joy and heart and emotion that soak these pages and the angst and pain that rip your guts out sometimes... But there's always hope woven in. I felt good when I finished this story... And a bit jealous of the hero and heroine. ;)

I have added this book to my "crazy love will re-read again and get my friends to read" shelf. There's so much heart in this book that I laughed and nearly cried at times. This book is long but it blazed by and I didn't want it to end. I want more. I forgot to mention her secondary characters. I want Kendall's friend Bells to have a story. I also want one for Shane's best friend Kain. He's big and Hawaiian and yummy! Maybe with Bells... or with me. That would work too.

I enjoy the lyrical writing of Taryn Elliott. She has a way with words that made me stop sometimes and reread a section and think it over. I was highlighting like crazy there are so many beautiful passages. If you love to read romance and have somehow missed Taryn Elliott. Fix that now. Read Suspended and fall in love with Shane and Kendall and the author's storytelling gift. You'll want more.

((hugs))) Kat

Kendall Proctor is a 27-year-old whitish-blond angel. Her petite frame holds a large heart and personality. She shares her beautiful smile with everyone. She makes friends instantly with anyone who will allow it. She runs a struggling bed and breakfast with her mom in New York that is their life and finds herself both devastated and excited about a journey she didn't choose to take. I loved how Kendall’s character evolved throughout this story, including how she could flip from a giddy young girl to a mature, beyond-her-years woman in a second. Taryn Elliott gave Kendall heartache, charisma, and soul that carried her well through this journey.

Shane Justice is a 30-year-old stud! He is a foreman for his father's well-known construction company in California but is a master carpenter at heart. Shane is an antisocial being. He is much more comfortable working with wood than with people and really doesn't come off well to others. But Shane is forced to leave it all behind and start fresh with a woman he hardly knows. Taryn Elliott forces him to take a leap of faith that allows him to grow exponentially in Suspended .

Kendall (aka Sunshine) and Shane (aka Oscar - for Oscar the Grouch) meet under a very difficult circumstance and this book revolves around the impact of that circumstance. I loved how the author brought these very different people together and created their journey. Kendall and Shane knew the journey wouldn't be easy, but they were definitely going to make the best of it as they discovered their incredible chemistry together in bed! Wait, did I say bed? A bed is not required for Kendall and Shane! There are some very interesting places where they had sexy time, and even some where they didn't but REALLY wanted to! The sexy time was spicy and well written, but it did seem frivolous at times. In my opinion, not every sex scene had a purpose other than the sex, which is a picky little requirement of mine. The sex scenes where important connections were made and realizations formed were the moments that I loved. Even with their quirks, Kendall and Shane truly did know how to share themselves with each other.

There was definitely more to their cross-country journey than sexy time. The sightseeing Shane allowed Kendall to experience was special. Having never seen many of the places described in the book, I would have loved more detail. There were locations that sounded amazing based on Kendall's reaction, but how it was described fell a bit flat for me. However, the ups and downs of traveling led to some of my favorite parts of the book where Kendall and Shane were both allowed to shine. Kendall's personality sparkled when she interacted with others and Shane had an opportunity to show brilliance in his craft.

When I read a book, I try to understand how the title was formed and I struggled with this book title a bit, so I looked up the verb suspended on Dictionary.com. Here are the numerous definitions:
1. to hang by attachment to something above: to suspend a chandelier from the ceiling.
2. to attach so as to allow free movement: to suspend a door on a hinge.
3. to keep from falling, sinking, forming a deposit, etc., as if by hanging: to suspend solid particles in a liquid.
4. to hold or keep undetermined; refrain from forming or concluding definitely: to suspend one's judgment.
5. to defer or postpone: to suspend sentence on a convicted person.

I found it ironic that I didn't really latch on to the title until reading these definitions. They don't hang from anything (like in #1), but I could make every other definition work. Now I can’t think of a better title and I hope you don't suspend (postpone) reading this book!

Bottom Line
The great cross-country journey in Suspended makes me want to put some miles on the car! If you are a traveler that doesn't require a ton of explicit detail about the surroundings, you would enjoy this book. I enjoyed the hot sexy time (even though frivolous at times) and the chemistry Taryn Elliott develops for the characters. I also loved how the hero/heroine find a way to make the best out of a difficult situation.

SUSPENDED: How Do You Handle Being Blind-Sided?

ORIGINAL POST: http://fangswandsandfairydust.blogspo...

Being blind-sided is an awful feeling, and we've probably all had it happen to us at some point. So, if your father dies, and somehow forgot to tell you some major stuff that's going to blow your life "five-ways-to-Sunday" it would probably leave you doubly vulnerable. It would be like having a thousand paper cuts and then bathing in lemon juice. But, is it in most of us to take those lemons and make the proverbial lemonade (or my preference a lemony cheesecake)?

It's a device of fiction: hand someone a life changing event, such as losing money, the death or betrayal of someone important, loss of one's home, or all of those. Add a myriad of other obstacles between the characters and resolution then throw in a boatload of attraction to someone to who would be better kept at arms length.

And, if the person a character should be upset with is no longer around to be mad at, well, then s/he lashes out at the next best thing.

This is a great piece of erotic fiction about the things I mention above and more. There are a lot of layers here in this well developed story. As always, a little communication would serve everyone well, but make a much less interesting story. The emotions and sex and the aforementioned blind-siding are very much part of the plot, so I don't want to spoil it.

The hook-ups are scorching! And, I swear someone (Taryn Elliot), has a major thing for Jason Momoa (don't we all?) -- one of her characters is so very him. She also has a thing for SUPERNATURAL. So fan girls take note!

While the story has meaning and plot, as proof that erotic fiction doesn't have to be crap, we also get treated to hot hook ups that will make bench seats and flatbed trucks more appealing than you ever thought they could be. You may want to jump in a truck and drive cross country with a handsome stranger. The characters are archetypal enough that it doesn't take much to know them but a little unusual and quirky too.; and are written in such a way that I could feel the emotions rolling off of them.

Kendall has a necessarily cheerful disposition (but bone deep exhaustion and a bit of suppressed anger), and so much of her life is riding on what Shane will want. Shane is naturally gruff and taciturn, and the rug has been tugged out from under him; a lot of his future depends on what Kendall tells him about the property they now share.

The aforementioned blind-siding makes both love interests vulnerable, putting them both on offense and defense. But somehow they have to learn to get along to cope with the implications of the bequest. Being vulnerable is uncomfortable at best; it's where either the best or worst things happen, right? You could, for example, meet the love of your life (Best Thing) only to feel s/he is your enemy (Worst). You could end up happy or you could lose everything and feel like a fool. It's like the path to happily ever after is studded with chutes of emotional devastation, and ladders of romance and magic.

One thing I was left with, beyond the erotic aspect of the story, was a feeling of regret for Kendall who never knew her father and had the wrong view of him. Since he has died, she'll never get the chance to know him. Her parents' pride kept her from knowing him and while she recognizes that she had a great childhood, her parents' decisions had a huge and long-reaching impact on her.

You know I don't like to do star ratings of books. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this to anyone who likes contemporary erotic fiction. Nothing really kinky happens, but it is still scorching. So if you like mostly vanilla this is like a salted caramel version -- for you it's probably a MUST READ. I know I'm glad I read it!

My pal, Kat over at The Book Tart, turned me on to this book and a new author for me. Thanks Kat!

Elliott - Suspended

What a surprise this book was to me! I picked it up based solely on my love for Taryn’s writing and several SmutSlut recommendations. I didn’t even read the synopsis (that’s how great my faith is.) So when Suspended began, I had this vision of how the story would play out: hate sex, antagonism, tension.
Boy was I wrong. Now, we do get a little bit of hate sex.. well, okay, maybe more like dislike-sex, but once we get past that, we ended up with what was really a sweet courtship between two lost souls. Wow.

Overall Rating: 4.5 stars- Kept telling myself “just one more chapter.”

Let’s start with Shane. Yum. I thought he was going to be one of those despicable bastards that I loved to hate and eventually hated to love. WRONG AGAIN. Turns out, he’s just plain likeable. Getting inside his head really helped sell me on what a great guy he is. He felt lost until he found his mate. Speaking of which…

Every bit of the last fifteen minutes was ill-advised.

Kendall. She has some moments that I want to give her a good talking to, but I also just plain liked her. She’s in a tough situation and (much like me reading the book) thought she was getting into one situation only to find herself in a much different one. I really enjoyed her ability to adapt. (Which I think is a great nod to the name of this series “Learning How To Bend”) I love smart, sassy, sexy women who save their man just as much as their man saves them.
“Good sex can color the whole word in sparkles and fairy dust.”

Much of Suspended is told during a very long road trip. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book in such a setting and I *loved* it. Growing up, and even now, it seemed like car trips always lead to the best talks. Something about being stuck in a small space with one other human being lends itself to honesty and intimacy in a way that other situations don’t. It made what could have felt like a very rushed emotional journey feel completely authentic. I could feel our couple falling in love.
“Christ, Sunshine, you make me fucking nuts.”

Of course, it’s a Taryn Elliott book, so you KNOW the sex is hot. You can just equate her with good smut, no questions. So if you want a very unique story that will sometimes frustrate you (seriously, Kendall, face facts, okay?) check out Suspended. It’s a great read!
“Mine. Always.”

Smut Factor: 4 stars- Smokin’ Hot!
Character likability:
4 stars- I wish we were friends.
Storytelling:
5 stars- I wake up thinking this really happened.
Writing and editing quality: 4 stars – Well Done!

Shane, Shane, Shane...Oh my gosh, where do I start?

The fabulous Taryn Elliott kept me up until 2am my time reading this terrific story. Goodness, she's always got me with every single one of her heroes. Now, that she's introduced me to Shane, I'm having a hard time deciding which of her bad boys is my favorite. Then again, I decided to make it easy on myself and let all her men be my favorite. There. Problem solved.

Shane is yet another sexy bad boy who's not happy with the card life has just dealt him. Finding out the man he's always known as his dad had a daughter he never spoke about is shocking. As if that weren't enough, the unknown daughter is the carefree beauty who holds the key to his future. He's not a happy camper.

Kendall thinks that at the passing of her dad, maybe, just maybe he thought of her. Her high hopes dissolve the moment she crosses paths with Shane and when she learns her beloved father played one last joke...err, card on her and her mom. She's never understood why her dad left her and her mom. Now she doesn't know if to be confused or hurt even as finding out out her dad raised the gorgeous man standing in front of her as his own son is not easy to accept.

The sexual tension is too much for them to take that it's easier to let desire drive their actions. The problem is, once that's out of the way they want to go back for more. It's a battle of wills that slowly but surely turns from mistrust into trust, more steam, new feelings neither had ever had, and love.

Sigh. I'm willing to go on a cross country trip with Shane any time.

I've read all of Taryn's stories and all I can say is I've liked them all. Taryn keeps raising the bar with every new story she releases and I can't wait to see what else she's got up her sleeve.

Psst...rumor has it she's busy working on her next story and the heroes are just as drool-worthy.

Blurb:

Shane Justice always does what's expected of him. Playing it safe has left him with nothing to show for it but an empty bank account and half ownership in a bed and breakfast over three thousand miles away from home. To make matters worse, his joint partner is exasperating, sexy, and drives him to the brink of insanity. He can't stop thinking about her, wanting her, or touching her. Kendall's not part of the plan, and he always has a plan.

Kendall Proctor has spent her life taking care of people. It's all she knows. A legal technicality changes her life, bringing a stranger into the middle of her business and straight to her doorstep. A passion-fueled moment forever changes their relationship adding sex and an unquenchable thirst for more into the equation. Shane and his grouchy but steady ways make her dare to believe that she could count on someone for the first time in her life.

A cross country trip, forced proximity, and a passion that defies all sense and logic is only the beginning of their story.

Because of the cover, this book was NOT what I was expecting, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. Don't get me wrong, it was steamy, but it only enhanced the story line and the relationship between the characters.

Shane and Kendall meet at the reading of a will. Because their livelihoods are dictated by this will, they are forced to work together so they don't loose everything. The problem is that Kendall wants to keep this inheritance, which is a Bed & Breakfast, but Shane wants to sell it, and take the money to finance his own business. So they set off on a trip from California, where the will was read, to New York, where the Bed & Breakfast is. The relationship progresses over the course of the trip, and it is a delightful trip.

The character development is wonderful. The author shows us two very different, very distinct personalities. Shane is serious, introverted and steady. A very hard worker, a great leader who isn't always liked but is very respected, and he is OK with that. He doesn't like crowds, has only a few good friends, and plans everything out. Kendall is very outgoing, and happy, an extrovert to the extreme. She's the type of person that never meets a stranger, and knows everyone, and everything about everyone. She makes friends easily, and makes people feel special. They are total opposites, but they are perfect for each other. They complement each other in the best possible way. They are extremely attracted to each other, and it is so cute the way Kendall can make him loose his head, and forget his plans, when they are intimate. She is so in the moment, and flies by the seat of her pants. While he tries to keep them on track, he is so in love, and attracted to her, it only takes a kiss for him to loose his focus. He kind of reminds me of a Mr. Darcy type of guy. Loved him!!! Loved her!!! Loved this book!!! A great HEA.

I loved Suspended, and will be looking for more books from this author.

I absolutely loved this book by author Taryn Elliot! She has become a must read author for me because her storytelling always draws me in with the witty dialogue, powerful emotions and scorching hot sex scenes. Shane and Kendall were strong characters with amazing chemistry and I adored them and could not get enough. Shane has lost the only father he's ever known while Kendall cannot forget that this same father walked away from her when she was a little girl. Their world collide together at the will reading and now they must go on a road trip from one coast to the other due to terms of the will. Sexual tension between Shane and Kendall make for one very HOT journey as they cannot keep their hands and other body parts off each other LOL Their different personalities complement each other and I really enjoyed the developing relationship between them and I couldn't stop reading as I wanted to see them admit their feelings for each other. Shane's best friend, Kain was introduced too and he jumped off the pages in this book. Sparks flew between him and Bells, Kendall's best friend and I cannot wait to read their story. I highly recommend this story to romance readers and all of the other books by this wonderful author.

Amazing. Just when I thought I knew Taryn's writing style, she surprises me again.

I was tackled by the instant heat between Kendall and Shane and my head was set to spinning. Taryn has crafted their story to make us, the readers, as uneasy with the attraction as the characters are, themselves, enhancing the unfolding events as mere words alone never could. I might not have trusted a lesser author to give me story to go along with the holy hotness, but Taryn's sure hand with her characters, letting us learn them as they learn each other, guaranteed a tale of love among the sheets. And sleeping bags. And the big bench seat of a pickup truck.

Keep pulling those rabbits out of your hat, Ms. Elliott. I'll be clapping and watching in perfect awe.

Yes, this was a pick-it-up-at-every-spare-moment book. I have to say, I thought Shane was a bit of an asshole at the beginning of the story :) By the end though, he grew on me. The bit about the rosary didn't hurt (wink, wink).

I enjoyed the story, and found the book very easy to get into. It was a quick read for me, and a great ride. Aside from the smokin' hot sex scenes, I liked the storyline and of couse, I always am a sucker for the Happily Ever After.

Instant love

Loved this story of grumpy Shane as he had to navigate through the mess of his father's will. At the same time he meets Kendall and the attraction between them was sparkling. On the long trip home they realise that their feelings were more than friendship. It takes a while before they are able to express their true feelings for each other and find their happily ever after.

Taryn Elliott is a automatic one-click for me and she never disappoints.

Shane was an arrogant jerk at the beginning, but after that cross country trip and what followed, yeah, I fell for him.

Taryn has an incredible way with the written word that keeps me engaged and able to visualize every scene she writes. One of my very favorite authors!

I enjoyed this one so much. Shane and Kendall’s meeting, their journey across the US and how they were with each other along the way, was so entertaining to read. I enjoyed as they worked through their struggles and the happy moments they shared. I am a fan of Taryn Quinn and this is a perfect example of why.

Great read

Very good story. I loved the characters and all the ups and downs to get to their happy ever after. Shane and Kendell make an awesome couple. The situations and settings were great. I really liked the secondary character of Bells. She really needs her own story. I would recommend this story to any adult reader who likes very hot couples.

4.5 blazing hot stars

The chemistry between Kendall and Shane was very explosive. It was a little tedious at times during their coast to coast drive but overall I loved their story. Can't wait to see what they do with the Heron and I imagine Kain and Bells may have something coming along...

Thoroughly enjoyed Crossing Every Line in Taryn Quinn style. Witty banter, sexy appeal and steamy bits to inspire the imagination. As a fan of woodwork and architecture the added workmanship appealed to my senses. Romance rocks in all forms yet particularly when indecision is involved. Multitude of characters which may be in other stories was also very exciting.
