Faded is the second book in the Rock Star Trilogy.

I left Hope ... the only place I’ve ever felt at home. So now what? Where do I go from here?

When I left, I didn’t just leave my home. I left my friends, my sisters, and Stephan… I just found them. I can’t lose them now.

I know that I want to do MY music. I need to remember WHY I wanted to play music in the first place. And the only way to get that is by firing my dad, but that may be harder than I thought.

On top of everything, I now have cameras following me around everywhere. Even my own home isn’t safe anymore.

I’ve come to realize that normal will never be an option for me.

Series Review of Jaded (Book #1) and Faded (Book #2) in the Rock Star Trilogy - 4.5 Stars!

Let me start by saying that I was originally only going to review Jaded (Book #1) for this blog tour. However, after finishing the book in almost one sitting I immediately contacted Ms. Amare and begged her to send me the ARC for Faded (Book #2)! Thankfully she was very accommodating.

This is the story of 19 year old Scarlett Ryan, "the hottest thing on the music scene". I guess you could equate her to Britney Spears, before she went wild, or the female version of Justin Bieber. She has been a rock star since she was 15, and managed by her overbearing father. She needs a break and decides that she wants to finish her senior year of high school and re-evaluate her life. This brings her to Hope, Florida, where she meets Ethan and his step brother Stephan, neighbors and fellow students.

Ethan becomes Scarlett's good friend and lunch table partner, while Stephan becomes much more. They start to develop a relationship, but Scarlett refuses to sleep with him until they are in love. The problem is that Stephan wont say the "L" word until he meets the woman he's going to marry, and Scarlett won't say the "L" word until he says it first. Let's face it though, they are head over heals for each other, but too afraid to acknowledge it.

What I love about Scarlett is that she tries so hard, but makes you laugh instead.
"Ok, ok, I know what you're thinking. But I'm not a slut. The fact is, I've only had sex with like 10 guys, and I can remember every one of their names. Well, except that one guy, but I was really drunk and he doesn't count."
If having sex with 10 guys by the time you're 19 is not a slut, then I'm practically a virgin - with 2 kids! She comes off at times as naive, flighty and insensitive in Jaded, but really develops in Faded as she comes into her own.

There are 3 major plot lines involving the characters, but I don't want to spoil it. This is the crux of the story - I will only say that 3 family secrets are divulged in Jaded (Book #1), and are dealt with in more detail in Faded (Book #2). You will have to read the series to find out ;)

Overall, the books flowed so well. Instead of long, detailed chapters, the Author writes as if they are diary entries. Each "chapter" is a different time of day and typically only a page long. The reader is not bogged down in details, but instead moved along at a nice pace.

I would classify this series under Mature YA or NA. There is no sex in the books, but it is most definitely spoken about and often too. There are also characters in the book that are older and mature themes, so don't think that it's a young adult high school book - far from it! This book rocked and I can't wait to read Hated (Book #3)!

ARC kindly provided by the Author for an honest review.

Faded was such a great sequel! I loved it from beginning to end and literally did not put it down. Jaded ended with such a shocker. I really didn't know where Faded was going to beginning, but Mercy did an amazing job continuing the story that keeps me on my toes. I know for sure this trilogy always will.

The relationship between Scarlett and Stephan obviously have their bumps (I'm sure you know why if you know how Jaded ended!) BUT they ended up staying strong and sweet. Stephan was a great support for Scarlett. She has to make a lot of important decisions for herself in Faded and she couldn't have done it without him. I also really love the character that Stephan has become. For a lot of the book he really was just a guy (a little horny at times and it was hilarious)! Mercy does a great job of staying true to them being young adults even though they are having to make adult-ish decisions!

I'm also really excited for what's to come with Alec and Bridgett. I could just see the tension coming off the page between them but because Scarlett is so preoccupied the reason why that is isn't revealed!

Overall I thought Faded was a great 2nd book. Even though I'm pretty sure this ending was almost as a killer as the ending of Jaded (but in a good way!) For some reason while I was reading it I felt that Faded's writing style was a mix between Jillian Dodd and Michelle Mankin. I don't know if any one has read any of their books but I would be curious to know if someone else felt the same way. It's a great mix to have!

I would recommend Faded to any Young Adult lover! Just don't forget to read Jaded first! <3

Faded picks up exactly one week after Jaded ends.. Not that anything happened in the missing week. Scarlett quickly runs through the events that had her leave Hope and return to L.A but she's miserable there. Her miseray doesn't last long though and it's not long before the quirky misunderstood rock star is right back to her old self.
The copy of Faded I have is an unedited, uncorrected ARC and I have to admit that I'm quite impressed with the fact that while obviously it needs a little tweaking to be perfect, there are not that many errors in it at all. Cudos for Mercy!
It took me much less time to read this one than it did Jaded and I'm almost positive that any fan will fly through this book too and then silently swear when they reach the end...well, At least that's what I did!
Faded definitely flows in sync with Jaded, unlike most series where the reader watches the writing style either get better (however in most cases the other books are nowhere near as good as the first) that isn't a worry with The Rock Star Trilogy. The writing style is consistant and the reader rest assured that they can finished Jaded and pick up Faded without a worry that Scarlett's thoughts won't seem right anymore.
There is on hell of a surprise at the end of this one that will absolutely blog the reader's mind but it's worth it and it totally keeps the reader craving the final installment.
I give this book 5 of 5 paws

After I had the opportunity to beta read Jaded I was seriously looking forward to reading Faded! Especially after that huge scene at the end! Faded was even better that Jaded! I didn't think for a second that it would be, but it so was! I thought that this book was going to be a bit different! I had my own ideas about where it could go and as soon I started reading I realised how wrong my ideas were! The plot of Faded was so different to Jaded, but I loved it even more! I think the plot had a lot more emotion in it and a lot more depth in it! The plot continued on from where Jaded left off from and Jaded's ending was pretty big! I loved the plot that much that I couldn't stop reading! I read this book in two sittings! The plot thoroughly impressed me and I loved it's development from Jaded! The characters were again amazing! Scarlett in Faded was different to the Scarlett in Jaded! She was more reserved and she seemed a lot happier in this book! She went through some big changes in Jaded and this book was about her getting used to those changes and making them a part of her life! She thoroughly impressed me! I also loved her attitude change! Stephan in this book was the exact same Stephan from the last book! I liked the secret that was revealed in this book about a part of his family, but I won't tell you what that secret was! I still thought that he was hot and I loved that he was always there for Scarlett! You could really see that the two of them loved each other! I wasn't a lover of Alec in this book compared to Jaded, but I did like his honesty towards Scarlett about his feelings for a certain character! I can't really talk about a certain character because it will ruin Jaded for you if I do, but all I will say is that I loved a certain character that Alec may or may not have had a crush on! I thought that she was developed perfectly from the person we met in Jaded! Again she was the complete opposite to Scarlett, but it was good to see two different attitudes on two different characters! I thought that the ending of this book was a little crazy! I didn't see it coming at all! I'm really looking forward to reading the next book in this series, Hated as overall this series is really impressing me! How pretty is that cover? It completely suits the first book in the series and I love it! Big thank you to Mercy for an ARC of Faded!

Faded is book 2 in the Rock Star Trilogy. And Mercy Amare does it again! This book begins literally where we left off in Book 1. I won't say with what since I don't want to spoil the end of book 1. But Scarlett and Stephan have their fair share of trouble as a beginning romance.

I loved this book. I loved how Scarlett continues to grow. I love how the relationship between Stephan and her grows. And most of all I love how this book ends.

Once again you will laugh and scream in frustration. I loved how the little secrets everyone had started coming out in book 1 and in book 2 they continue to spill forth. I have to say the life of a Rock Star sure doesn't seem like any fun to me.

Character Creation is still a strong suit. All the main characters are vibrant and lifelike and the secondary characters are also equally well written. To the point that they can actually be main characters. And in some ways they are, I can't say why I say that without spilling some spoilers so just trust me when I say that there are so many stories in the one story that it will keep you flipping those pages.

Mercy Amare once again ends this book with one heck of a doozy. And I for one immediately sent her a message to find out when book 3 would be released. Yeah I know, but I am NOT known for my patience. Luckily it will be out in September, and maybe with a bit more luck on my side she will let me have the pleasure of reading the ARC when it is available. *fingers crossed*

All in all, this is a definite 5 star series, and I must insist that you go grab yourselves copies of these fabulously rocking books! Oh and once again I must say DO NOT READ THIS AT NIGHT WHILE LAYING IN BED NEXT TO A SLEEPING BEAR OF A HUSBAND! If he is anything like mine he will not appreciate being woken up two nights in a row to his wife yelling at the end of a book.

Details/Disclaimer: Review copy was provided for me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Scarlett has learned that even tho she can run away she can't really run from her problems. No she may never have a normal life but it's time to think about what she wants from her life. She wants to have a relationship with her sisters, stay with Stephan to see just were they are going in their life. She also know she wants to do her music her way. With the help of a friend she just may get to do her music but it will come at a cost. She has to deal with cameras following her around. She also has to find a way to confront her parents about what they have done. Life is far from normal and her heart and music may be on the line.

I already loved Scarlett and Stephan from the first book but I think I love them even more now. They both start to open up about their feelings even if they are not quite ready to make the big L word step. I like how even if Scar wants to she doesn't give in to temptation. It shows you no matter what she has done in her past she is trying to be a better person. You also get to see just how protective she can be of her family. Stephan shows more than his adorable side in this book as at times he does get angry. It makes him more real. He is right there for Scar and all she goes through.

It happens sometimes but not a lot. I enjoyed the sequel more than the first book. The people in this book really start to come into their own even when faced with lots of drama and a lot of things going on. Scar and Stephan show just how much they are there for each other and are willing to do whatever it takes to help each other. Scarlett's music really comes into play in this book and I am glad to see it. In the first book you know she is a rock star but now you get to see why and what really goes on for her. If you are looking for a wonderful series about amazing characters pick this series up. I love and hated the ending of this book. I didn't see it coming but loved it. I hated it because I have to wait for the next book. I need it now.

I am SO pleased about ''Faded''. The first volume wasn't so good for me so this is a big change. Unfortunately, the book was an ARC so I can't give spoilers.

In ''Faded'' Scarlett finally returns home in Hope and gets things settled in her messy life. Her career is developing very well (thanks Alec and Bridgett) and her love life is pretty complicated. Stephan is too hot and Scarlett doesn't want to have sex with him until he tells her that he loves her, which may never happen. But things will get a big bent in the end!!!

Like I hoped, Scarlett evolved in the second book and I am so happy that she finally learned that she is the boss of her own life. She isn't the same spoiled rock star too. Life has thought her so many lessons about family, friends and love. And the song she wrote for Stephan was awesome, I almost cried a little at the lyrics *sobs* I think I like her way too much now ♥
The other characters (Alec, Bridgett, Mona, Ethan, Stephan) were good, I can't complain about their actions. They made the story complete and beautiful.

Overall, ''Faded'' is SO MUCH BETTER than ''Jaded''!!! You'll love it! Honestly, until the last two chapters I was determined to give it 4 stars, but that ending was AMAZING! I can't believe they did that (I laughed my ass off when they woke up drunk and confused after doing what they did!!!) ♥ I can't wait to read & love the third volume, I am practically screaming at the author through this laptop! But Mercy's books are so good, I am sure that the third one will be the best from the ROCK STAR trilogy!

Faded picks up right where Jaded left off. Scarlett has left her hideaway in Florida and has discovered she will never have a "normal" life. She is heartbroken over leaving, but has convinced herself that she doesn't want her fame to ruin the ones she loves the most. Scarlett is about to make some big changes in her life and she is going to need the support of the ones she loves.

Scarlett is convinced to return to Hope, Florida when she realizes that she cannot live without the ones she left behind. She has also made a big decision to start making her own music, and not the bubblegum pop her record company has been forcing her to do. Which will require her to fire her own father as her manager. On top of that her best friend and fellow rock star, Alec Torch, has convinced her to record a documentary and she has cameras literally everywhere!! How does a 19 year old juggle high school, a massive blow up with both of her parents, venturing out on her own in her music career, and falling in love??

I give Faded 5 stars on the knock my socks off scale. I thought that Mercy Amare did a fantabulous job at picking up where book 1 left off and adding so many events without rushing through the story. I felt my connection to the characters deepen and fell even more in love with Scarlett and Stephan, but also the entire cast... minus Mona. LOL

Faded

One let me say right away - Scarlett has grown so much from book one!
Her career is going well, but other things still need a bit of work. (Cough- love life!)
She has had so much.. Bless her heart! She has learned and finally has taken the reigns a bit on her life!
Piece by piece, she has grown up. She sees life a bit differently.
Stephen.. Hot yes! The relationship with the two of them.. Complications. Ugh! Will he? Won't he? Does he? Omg the song! The song is beyond words! Read it - just wow read it!
The supporting characters are great in story. Alec, Bridgett, Mona, Ethan. They add a dynamic to the story line and help pull everything together!
Scarlett is a great character like I have said before she has moxie, she also has found her own voice in a way. (Ironic considering her profession) It's just finally a different voice being heard.

I am going for broke here I actually liked book two better.. Don't hate me! I just loved the change in storyline and the growth of characters. This book made me laugh and it made me cry. I have more hope for our rock goddess now. I have more hope for Stephen . He is still hot as &$@$! Wow! I really cannot wait to see where Mercy takes us next. Great book, fun read, this series has got me.. Yep I am a fan! You should be too! ❤

I received Faded for my honest review. I've now read all of Mercy Amare's books and would be thrilled to read her next new release.

Faded starts off right where Jaded left us. I really liked that, as the ending left me with lots of questions.

Scarlet leaves Florida believing it is best for her friends. She thinks it’s not fair to them to have their privacy invaded because of her fame.

She can’t stay away though. She needs them and misses them. Especially Stephan. So she returns.

Faded reveals answers to many questions from Jaded. Scarlett is maturing, becoming a stronger, emotionally grounded young woman, despite her notoriety and unusual younger years.

The secondary characters from Jaded begin to come into their own with this second book, and are an integral part of this series now.

It’s hard to review a second book without spoilers, so I’ll just that Faded is every bit as good as Jaded, if not better, since we are led further into Scarlett’s and her friends relationships and stories.

I’ll warn ya. The ending is a wowser. Just sayin. You’ll definitely be reading the third book, Hated, when it’s released.

I loved the first one and absolutely loved this one as well. I seriously wish that I could jump into this book (anyone know how to do that) and meet these characters it would be so fun. If you loved the first one then you will love this one. I can not wait for the third one. I love the characters even more now. There is love, conflict, friendship, family, and self discovery that helps you to understand the characters and their relationships more. Yes there are parts where I was wishing to punch a character or two in the face for certain reasons. This book explores the characters in the first one more and gives you some insight to their lives and why they are the way they are. The music comes into play and you discover how much music really is a part of Scarlet's life and what she will go through to keep it in her life. It's sweet, funny, realistic, addicting, and a good read. Can not wait for the next one especially because I ended the book with this look on my face :O. What are you waiting for go get it and read it already. :)

I left the last book and wanted more of Hope, Florida and of course Scarlett. YES you need to read Jaded before this book. This one was a lot better if you can believe that. Scarlett gets a lot of closure. The only thing is that with closure sometimes comes more questions. Sometime, the answers only make more questions. This is the case with book 2. I sort of leaves you thirsty for the rest.

When Scarlett gets through the events in book one, you know she is golden, I mean who can emerge fighting harder? Scarlett of course.

What a great book. For my fans of this genre, it will be a sold out Scarlett tour. I know you all will agree with me that Alex Torch NEEDS his own series. If you dont agree, then tough shut up and lie to me. I definitely loved Ethan and Alec and I think they need their own books. My opinion counts in my little world. NO I am not hearing voices, I am very attached to the characters and extremely emotional this week.
READ it you will love it

I am not a fan of reality tv and the thought of having all those cameras would have driven me insane. I understood why Scarlett left Hope but in all honesty, it was a cowards move. She is the badass rockstar and she is going to run away? Not buying it.

This girl is made of sterner stuff. I love how Bridgett and Alec jump in and start doing what needs to be done. Scar needs that in her life and I love how the sisters relationship is developing. I feel like Alec has become the man he is meant to be and I want to say (hint, hint) that he needs his own series. Back to Scar, she is finally getting back to the root of her music and discovering her faith in it again.

There were parts that made me want to smack Scarlett. Why was she so wishy-washy about Stephan hearing her song? I thought she had more backbone but I will chalk it up to her age. Can’t wait for the next book!

Original review at Gabic Reads as part of the Rock Star Blog Tour.

I love Scarlet. I love her strength and her willingness to admit she's wrong. Her confrontation with her parents is hard for her. But she does it because she needs to stand up for herself. I also love how Stephan is always there for her. And even though they fight, they still make an effort to apologize and realize what they did wrong. Bridget and Alec make such a cute couple! I hope they get over there spats soon and finally get together.

The end of Faded was unexpected. I can't wait to see how this all pans out in Hated!!!!!!

Talking to the author about Faded, right after I finished Jaded, I was told that Faded did not leave the reader hanging as bad as Jaded did to me. I didn’t believe her. I was like, ‘I can't wait for the next one to find out what happens! There is too much suspense!’ When I got to the end, I did not realize it and I was like WTF?!?!?!?! Nononononono!
In this one, I loved the character Alec. He is in Faded way more than he is in Jaded. He is too funny. I was literally laughing out loud when Scarlett would get mad at him because off something he did that she absolutely would have killed him for.

All that I have to say is WOW! I have been in love with Scarlett and Stephan since the first time these two characters met.
I am addicted to the fact that Scar is only 19 years old and has been thru more crap in her years to make a normal person want to run for the hills!
I am glad that Bridgett is head over heels for Alec. I think those two are made for each other! And the twist at the end.. Oh, Mercy! Girl, I told you before that I love your mind and I think I fell even more in love with it! Can't wait for the 3rd book!

Find this review and more on my blog:

Warning: turn back if you have not yet read the first book in the series, Jaded. There will be some spoilers for that book in this review.

“I push people that I love away. Not because I’m selfish, but because I don’t know how to depend on others. I’m used to being alone. And in this moment, I hate my mom and dad even more because I know they made me like this. I’m so used to being on my own, that I don’t know how to act when somebody cares for me.”

I am very, very relieved to be able to say that I liked Scarlett much more in this book. I didn’t find her to be nearly as conceited or immature in this book. No, running away from the problems she feels she caused with her family and friends in Jaded wasn’t exactly mature, but at least she was able to admit that she was wrong and work to rectify it. She’s still a huge drama queen, but I can’t really blame her for that.

“Besides, can I really love?
What is love?
IS this love? Maybe I’m just so pathetic that I’m trying to feel something that isn’t there.”

As she returns to Hope to right the wrongs, I wanted her to succeed. I wanted her and Stephan to work things out. They’ve reached a stalemate. They want each other, but neither is ready to reveal their true, full feelings for the other. Scarlett loves him and wants him. She wants to move things forward physically, but she refuses to give in until he says he loves her. Stephan obviously cares deeply for Scarlett, but doesn’t want to tell a woman he loves her until he’s sure she’s THE ONE. That she’ll be his wife. Their insecure back-and-forth dialogue on this topic was about to kill me. I just wanted to yell at them to communicate! Someone take a chance here!

I thought the filming of the “documentary” was a nice addition. It amped up the drama and kickstarted Scarlett’s career again. It was nice to see her take a stand for herself. I don’t know that I believe book one Scarlett would have. I think she would have been content to sit back and let everyone else run her life while she was out having fun. I was very pleased with the way she matured.

While I was sad that there wasn’t as much Ethan in this book, I was thrilled beyond belief with the additional time given to Bridgett and Alec. While their course is totally predictable, I enjoyed reading it. I liked seeing Alec as vulnerable. It was a huge change from the character that was originally introduced, IMHO.

The family drama and secrets continue to surface during this book, with both Scarlett and Stephan’s families. It was interesting to see how everything was interconnected. Some of it took me by surprise. Everything in this book happened at warp speed. It’s easy to assume it took longer for the drama to unfold, but it was really just a matter of months. That was the only part I had a hard time buying into. The book finished with a bang and I was relieved to be able to dive right into the third and final book at its conclusion.

Because I don’t give half stars, I went back and forth on whether or not to give this book 3 or 4 stars. It was a better book than the first in the series, but when I began comparing it to other books I’ve rated at 4 stars as of late, it was clearly closer to a 3 star read than a 4 star read for me.

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

A few notes the BOLD emphasizing still bothers me and still makes the book/writing feel childish. I was more annoyed with I'm Scarlett Ryan this book, she was more annoying and she seems to talk about her money a lot of her experiences with being a rock star and how much stuff costs and etc. I assume that's how rich or celebrities are, but it still is a bit annoying. Also the girl is a tiny bit slow if she could not tell how much Stephan adores and loves her and the only reason he hasn't said "I love you" Is because the things she keeps saying about love, lol.I hope she slowly starts to mature in book 3. I know they are still young, but still. Just my thoughts and opinion is all. There was a lot of grammar mistakes in this one. They don't take away from the story, but I feel I need to point it out there for the author.
Now moving on. I love this series so far, I loved this book a lot, maybe even more than the first. There are just minor annoyances that take a tiny bit of potential the book could and should have away from it. But the story is very good. Again the gang has a bunch of fun, crazy drama brewing and good story lines. I'm happy Scarlett is finally sticking up for herself and doing her own thing. Lets hope it works out. Alec and Bridgett I really want to see them work out. I'm hoping for a novella of them or a book on their story, that would be interesting. Didn't get much Ethan this one. I hope him and Mona can make it work, they seem perfect for each other, but I'm not really diggin' Mona, I hope her and Stephan can work out their "issues" and does his mom find out? Is that going to be some drama for book 3? I hope so, I'm pretty excited to read book 3. I hear it is the last. Wondering how the author is going to tie up all these loose ends, and if all my questions will have answers. I love Stephan, I love his humor and his wild side. LOVE the song Scar writes for Stephan, those two have an epic love and I can't wait to see what their future has, I hope a happy life, wedding and babies. I also want to see how the ending of book 2 works for book 3, how everyone is going to take the news. I also hope it has some freaking sex scenes, these books are giving me "blue balls:" so to speak, haha.
All in all it was another good and fast read. There are some things that annoy me and make the book a bit less desirable, but doesn't affect the book overly too much, still a good read and worth it! Off to start book 3.

Some quotes I loved:

"I will tell you this. You, and only you, have my whole heart. Forever. Take it however you want it, but I am not going anywhere."

"As if I'd ever give my virginity to Alec. He probably has more STD's than a truck stop toilet." (LOL)

"Everyday I spend with you makes me wish for a million more," "I know that you are the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with. And I hope that doesn't scare you away, but its how I feel."

"Wow. Bowling sure brings out the violent side of people." (LOL)

"I can offer you forever, because I know that what I feel for you isn't going away ever. I don't know what the future holds, but it doesn't matter. Whatever happens, my heart will always belong to you."

"Trust me, I will. Nothing will ever keep me away from you."

Faded picks up right after where Jaded ends. Thank God, I don't think I could have handle the time apart for a long time.

Faded has a bit of a faster pace but is as entertaining as the first. We have the whole gang back together in Florida, after Alec and Bridgett go to LA to bring Scarlett back where she belongs.

I really enjoyed reading about Scarlett development as a character. She's stronger here. She wants to be free from her music contract and from her parents and do, for once what she likes. She makes some mistakes in the way, but finding yourself is never easy and all is set nicely in the plot.

I think the addition of Alec and Brigett's somehow relationship was a really nice touch. To be honest I was more interested in their story than Stephan and Scarlett's. They had some bigger fights in this book, mostly thanks to the TV crew following Scarlett and they would say some pretty mean things to each other to only automatically take it back and be happy again. I guess I'd like some more drama about it... or at least not an insta-explanation about it.
I did enjoyed reading about them, they're as hot as always and I think their fears were very realistic and well portrayed.

There was one thing that bugged me, and it's more of a little thing I guess but being the music lover that I am I know how much time it takes to make and record a song. And Scarlett does it in record time. I just found that very hard to believe. But it really didn't ruin my experience, it just really bugged my OCD.

Faded is a great sequel to Jaded and it ended at a VERY interesting part of the story I can't wait to read more about. There's a lot more to Stephan and Scarlett's story and I can't wait to see what happens next.

4 Star Review

“Life is about taking chances. It’s about taking risks, no matter what the stakes. When I die I want to be able to say that I lived life to the fullest. I want to have no regrets. Because if you play it safe your whole life, are you really living?”

Mercy Amare did an amazing job continuing the story of my favorite pop princess and the hot boy next door. Faded didn’t let me down. I was hooked into the lives and drama of the characters.

“I don’t know how many more ways that I can say this, but you are mine. I’m offering forever here.”

Scarlett Ryan’s natural instinct is to run from all her problems, but not this time. This time she is going to stand up for herself and fight for the things she wants. The only thing standing in her way is herself and her fears. Does Scarlett let all her demons destroy the family she built, the friends she made and the boy she loves?

“What would Bieber do?”

I liked Jaded, but I absolutely loved Faded. The characters were more relatable and the writing was amazing.

I loved how Scarlett’s character grew; we got to watch her go from a naïve pop star to a confident woman. As if you didn’t already love Stephan enough this book showed him in a different way that made you fall even more in love with him. I loved the secondary characters just as much as the main characters, and I hope we get to learn more about them as the series continues.

The sexual tension and back and forth in this book drove me crazy. I also was surprised to find that this book ended with another cliffhanger. I am officially counting down the days until Hated (Rock Star #3) comes out!

OMG!!! I am in love with this author. She is such an amazing writer. The series is seriously amazing. The second book Faded was just as good as the first. These characters are so fantastic. As I was reading I just couldnt stop. I wanted to keep going. I couldnt make myself put it down to go to sleep. It was just that GOOD!!!

The ending was a definite shocker! I wanted to immediately read the next book. I love, love, love the ending. It was very intriguing and it keeps you on your toes the whole time. Shocking is the only word for it. I just cant get over the ending. I was thinking about it the whole night. I love stories where you finish the book and your awake the whole night thinking about it.

The characters in this trilogy are growing. I love how they grow together. Stephen and Scarlett are an amazing match. They love each other. They just cant tell each other that. This book makes them the ultimate couple. You will understand once you read the book. They are one of my favorites about this story. Bridgett and Alec are also growing, I cant really tell if they are growing together or not. Bridgett is destroyed emotionally from a past relationship and is trying to figure herself out. Alec is not a one woman kind of guy. So it will explain there relationship in the book. But Alec is so sweet.

All YA readers will love this book as well as the first. This is the ultimate YA story. I think all readers that like YA books will like it. I am hoping the final book will be just as good.

Okay Lordy have mercy on me because Jaded left me with a cliff hanger and I was yelling and screaming at my kindle because I was like what the freak! OMG Scar has been through some crazy stuff and she has survived everything with a positive attitude. I for one would not be able to do it. I mean I would go ballistic is all I am saying because you have to read it to know what I am talking about.

So Scar has left Hope Florida because she wants to do her music but she also has a lot of decisions to make and she needs some time and space. The worst thing about leaving Hope is that she is leaving her family and friends and her love Stephan. But she knows it will be okay because she has their support and love and Stephan is with her every step of the way.

Man I loved the banter and everyday stuff they went through. Plus I loved how Stephan supported her and her decisions. Yes it was hard at times but she and Stephan made it through. It was scary knowing what she wanted and having to do it but once she did Scar was stronger for it. The ending oh man I need the third book like yesterday and I am so glad I have it so I can finish this trilogy with a bang. Because I know it is going to be EPIC!

I guess you can say Faded took place right after Jaded was finished. I find it amusing how all the titles in the Rock Star trilogy rhymes. ;D

So the romance thing. I really have no problem with Scarlett and Stephan. I mean, really. They make a nice couple and all, but I really think Alec and Scarlett are entertaining. They are funny. And they actually know each other more. But I know this definitely wouldn't happen, since Scarlett is with Stephan and Alec is hinting a relationship with Bridgett, Scarlett's twin.

Alec is so funny though. I have to say, he's my favorite character in the whole series. Like really. He's one freakin' awesome guy~ Bridgett is so lucky. LOL.

And this ending. I totally didn't expect it to happen. My reactions were: *speechless, then "What?", then "Just like that?", then "Oh Okay....", then "Omg, they're _______!!" Yeah. I obviously can't say that last word or it'll give it all away. LOL. ;)

Recommended for those who enjoy hot rock stars and young adult. Which is like, basically me. ;D

I read this as apart of the blog tour for Jaded & Faded. But I would have read it anyways. This was another great book by Mercy Amare. The story starts out with Scarlett miserable in LA. Alec and her sister Bridgett bring her back to Florida. She gets back with Stephan and life goes on. What Scarlett really wants to do is sing her own music but her record label wants her to sing their music. So her friend and fellow Rock Star Alec Torch is going to produce a new album of Scarlett's . An album where she writes and sings her own music. She is excited but scared. There are also a few not so happy run ins with her parents. Also Mona the popular girl at school tells her a huge secret about Stephan. I loved Stephan. He was still cute, funny and still adored Scarlett. Alec was so hilarious. Bridgett was her usual sweet self. All her friends were a great support system. The story had lots of heart, late nights, funny moments and some heartbreaking moments. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

So after we were left hanging in Jaded.....Faded picks up exactly one week after Jaded ends.. While I liked Jaded, I loved Faded! 4.5 stars

In Faded, Scarlett is standing up for herself and what she wants and not running from her fears. So, during Scarlet's self-discovery she experiences growth from a naive young girl to a strong confident young woman. Her relationship with Stephan also grows and we get lots of yummy sexual tension....*sigh* yup I love Stephan.

Congrats Mercy on the release! Faded was a sweet journey of love, self-discovery, and friendship with some drama thrown in. In true Mercy fashion....be prepared for the ending to leave you left reeling....I am officially counting down the days until Hated (Rock Star #3) comes out, I need it like now!

Faded tells more about Scarlett standing in her own two feet, having tough decision that she never thought one day she could do it. Besides her with her twin sister Bridge, her friend Ashton and her very loyal boyfriend Stephan.

But what makes me tick is that at the end of this book, the shocking revelation they did after a very long drunken night. But still Scarlett kept one secret from Ashton that I knew this will blow their relationship off.

The 3rd book "Hated" sounds a lot of twist and a lot more revelation will come to their way. Sounds very heart broken for me I might say. But then again definitely looking forward to read it.
