I continued to write through University but never thought about publishing any of my work. I now live with my husband and two black cats in Derbyshire. I had always been an avid reader and movie goer of anything relating to the paranormal but I always felt there was something missing for me. After a few jobs I re-evaluated my life and decided I would try and write something that was close to my heart. With the help and support of very good friends and family I specialise in Paranormal Romance Erotica. I didn’t want to write something conventional but what I do write involves a lot of emotion, strong women, sexy men and a great storyline.

Had potential but....
I really wanted to love this book, it had so much potential plus it was British a rarity for me since most of the books I read these days are American.
Since there's already plenty of reviews I'll skip my usual summary and just give my thoughts.
I loved the idea behind this, that Jessica has lived a normal life but then death awakens her and she becomes so much more than she was and so much more than anyone else, a whole new world opens up with vampires, shifters, witches and of course a prophecy.
Jessica is special, the only known pureblood in existence and no one knows the extent of her abilities.
There's a whole host of interesting characters, Reuban of course the tall, dark and sexy werewolf shifter, well all the council characters were interesting.
So what went wrong?
In a word, Jessica.
It's mentioned that she has a temper, she's still transitioning and she's been through so much but seriously......at first I thought she was bipolar, she just throws a massive tantrum every time she gets upset and it drove me nuts. Apart from her temper tantrums she has a lot going for her, she's intelligent, loyal and capable of so much but every time she'd start to win me over she'd then throw another temper tantrum and I was back to disliking her again.
I considered continuing on with 'Darkest Dawn' after all it's on KU and I loved all the council characters but I just don't think I can read another book full of Jessica so I'm passing for now.

This was a funny/smexy/paranormal romance. It honestly had everything, you laugh, you get pissed, there's action and drama, plus add in some sexy scenes! Very entertaining!
Jessica is a normal girl who gets thrown in jail at the beginning of the book, her mom has to come pick her up and on the way home they are attacked. She wakes up some time later in the hospital finding out her mom had been killed. She notices after waking up she is different, that almost dying has giving her abilities somehow.
Jess spends the next two years training by day and killing vampires by night while she searches for clues on who had attacked them. She gets a lead about prostitutes going missing in a specific part of town so decides one night to go undercover for info. She gets in over her head and meets Reuban.
'God those amber eyes mixed with his chocolate coloured hair, for f*cks sakes touch him, actually no just rub your body over him like a cat, bet he could make you purr..'
Reuban is a wolf who has spent the past thirty years watching over Jess and protecting her from afar. After saving her, she takes a bullet for him, so he rushes her back to his command center.
This is where his team works and lives and where Jess will now live and perfect her skills. After dying the second time she has noticed new abilities and is getting stronger.
They believe her to be a chosen one, one who is a pureblood, not turned, but born. She must drink blood to survive now, turning into the one thing she spent the past two years killing. She trains with each person on the team, having each their own unique talents. Some have a talent of personalities more then abilities!
"Why are you such a bitch Juliet? Is it 'cause your a frigid cow? No wonder Troy doesn't come near you anymore he's probably got frost bite on his cock!"
So Jess must come to terms with what she is becoming, controlling these new powers, this new life she is living, the threat that is now after them and her new love life that leaving her hot and cold.
'I really like talking dirty to Reuban! I was getting hot a fire building in my belly. Reuban growled at me and then plunged his tounge into my mouth as I opened it to moan.'
Reuban is an alpha wolf who mates and loves for life. He has had the past thirty years getting to know Jessica and falling in love with her. He saw her cry after having her heart broken, getting into the fight that landed her in cuffs that night and watching her fight the past two years. This is all new to Jess so her emotions are all over the place, she feels connected to Reuban, but can it be love so soon? Or is it just the primal lust that he brings out in her?
I enjoyed this book. The plot was unique and well written, the characters were likeable. I loved Jess's best friend! The sex was steamy and the one liners hilarious.
"Reuban I would love to have your child, creating something that is part of both of us would be.." scary, monstrous, probably have two heads"..beautiful."

There is a lot going on here so I am going to have to work this out with you while I decide how I am going to rate this book. Way back when I told Ms. Scandal that I was interested in reading Rising Dawn by E.I. Jennings, it was her first published book. Rising Dawn made its debut in April of this year but since then, Ms. Jennings has published two more books in the Jessica Dawn series. The second is a novella entitled Burning Desire which was released in May and then Darkest Dawn was released a few weeks ago, which I am ASSUMING is the end of this series (but don’t quote me on that!) since the plot summary mentions a destiny being fulfilled.
Let’s be crystal clear on why I chose to read this book. ALPHA. WOLF. The other paranormal aspects didn’t hurt its cause either. Oh, and well I am being completely honest, this little disclaimer only put another notch in the pro column…*Please note this novel has sexually explicit scenes and is for an Adult audience only* But what should have been a slam dunk for me had a few speed bumps along the way. I have read a number of books by U.K. authors and I have loved a great deal of them. I love the snarky, witty, sarcasm and sassy-ness that these authors infuse into their characters. And make no doubt about it, the heroine in this story, Jessica Dawn, has all those characteristics and then some! What didn’t work for me was the grammar and punctuation. I found the dialogue choppy at times with improper word usage or tense. I checked reviews on Goodreads and Amazon and found not one person had mentioned this so…was it just me? I am not going to beat this subject to death, enough to say that I had difficulties with it. So why did I continue and not give up? Because the plot synopsis had my interest and I wanted to see how this story would play out because I really felt it had potential. And did I mention there’s a wolf?!!?
We are introduced to the spitfire heroine Jessica Dawn who is waiting outside the local police station for her mother to pick her up. No grown woman EVER wants to be picked up from the Po Po by their mama! The fact that it took three grown men to pull her off of her boss’ son who she beat the shit out of at a company party due to his unwanted and inappropriate sexual advances only endears her to me more. This woman knows how to grab ‘em by the balls and twist while dropping enough f-bombs to make a trucker blush. What goes along with that filthy mouth? A big ass brain! Girl is S-M-A-R-T! Throw in some serious stubbornness and a fiery temper and you have one kick ass bitch. It doesn’t take long for Fate (she really is a bitch…no really, she is! She’s in the book) to rip everything from Jessica’s life that she holds dear.
Fast forward two years and Jess has developed some new abilities she uses to stalk and kill that which she hates most. Vampires. Yeah, there is some irony here but “Mr Tall Dark and Sexy” appears and he is going to help work it out for her…and trust me, the six foot six, gorgeous, broad shouldered, well-muscled, amber eyed, chocolate coloured hair wolf is most definitely going to WORK.IT.OUT for her! Hi, my name is Reuban, let me introduce you to my talented mouth! HELL. YEAH! What is it about a growly man declaring “You.Are.Mine” that has you clenching your thighs? And Reuban…that man can provoke earth shattering size quivers!
“I want to remember our first time together Jessica, I want to remember every lick of you, every soft tight inch of you, every moan, spasm and scream – I want to remember us!”
Reuban’s pack is rounded out with an interesting assortment of otherworldly beings who take Jess in, accept her for who she is, regardless of what she may become and truly care about her. Jess goes from being entirely alone in life to the love and protection of a good man and some great, even if they are neurotic, friends.
“I felt like I was on an outing with the psych ward.”
As in most families, there is dysfunction and dissension among the ranks but this group must quickly learn to work together if they are going to prevent a malicious Queen who plans to unleash hell on earth as her vengeance once she is free of her captivity. Hell hath no fury and all…. Once again everything that is precious to Jessica is threatened and she is willing to sacrifice anything to protect the ones she loves, but then she’s not the only one who feels that way.
Did I struggle at times? Yes. Around the 50% mark I felt the writing took a different turn and it flowed more smoothly. Obviously E.I. Jennings grabbed my attention because I plan to continue reading the series…after all, Rising Dawn ended with a big KA-BOOM!

Oh my goodness!! This book was amazing! Soo great!
Rising Dawn begins with a girl named Jessica whose mother was killed by some creature in a horrible accident. Jessica believes the accident is her fault. This accident not only changes her personally, (she finds she is changing……for example she begins to be able to heal herself and can read others auras) it has changed her attitude towards life itself. She feels she only lives to avenge her mother’s death. One night while she is “patrolling” she gets into a jam and is rescued by and I quote “Mr. Tall Dark and Sexy”.
This is when we meet our sexy Hero Reuban. Reuban is an alpha wolf that has been assigned to protect Jessica since she was born. In the beginning he hated his assignment of protecting Jessica. Now, years later, he doesn’t just feel like it is an assignment anymore because he is in love with her and would do anything to make sure she is safe. This scene is when he is forced to step-in in order to save Jessica’s life and when the story really begins. I am not going to get into the plot because you just HAVE to read it!!!
Rising Dawn by E. I. Jennings was a great read. Mrs. Jennings did an awesome job on characters in this story. I felt like I was part of their group. They were written incredibly! The secondary characters had just as much involvement in the story as our main character and I loved them! I hope maybe they will get their own book, that’s how much I loved them! (HINT…HINT) I loved the feelings and emotions that she brought out in this book. It made story line between Reuban and Jessica was just amazing! I could really feel the love between these two characters. It got REALLY hot at times!!
I cant say enough about the book other then it is a must read! If you like your romance mixed with Hotness and paranormal this is definitely the book for you! All of this being said I give this book 4.5 STARS!

Free download. Well where do I start? Wow this book was great, absolutely new in many ways although many aspects have been written about before this concept was new and worked so well. Jess has lost everything in her life, but loosing her mother tipped her over the edge and turned her into the hunter she is now, she's looking for the vampire who killed her mother and changed her life, but fate has other ideas and brings her life to another crossroads. Jess' world changes again but she's brought into her reality, she's now a creature that is powerful, and she has no clue what to think. Adding Reuben to the mix, the alpha who was charged with watching her from birth. His protection turned into more making their connection transcendent, but will fate play fair?
This story was full throttle from the start and keeps you hooked wanting more. I love Jess as a strong female character but she's also surrounded by other strong females all supernatural beings but ultimately women who have the same issues and worries as we all do. Reuben is soooo hot, and protective, possessive, loving and sexy as sin, of course a strong line up of hot male characters to balance out the women, which makes for laugh out loud moments. The story, plot and writing were good. Some grammatical errors but nothing to be concerned about. The idea was fresh regardless of time old supernatural beings. Lots of angst, lots of fights, and edge of your seat moments. The sex scenes are hot and cold shower worthy, but there's also some loving moments which were sweet. Overall a great read, and I'm looking forward to the next book, so would highly recommend.

I absolutely loved this book. Bloody brilliant. This book has it all. I can't wait to read the next one in the series. The mix of characters was excellent, the twists and turns were excellent and I really didn't see that coming about who her dad would be (shocker...). I loved the humour and the action.
I loved that it was set in the UK. One of the things I loved the most is that it had an authentic UK voice, as it used one of my favourite words 'twat'. I really hate it when books set in the UK don't use our everyday language, that they're 'adapted' for the international market, basically the US. I loved the dialogue between everyone, because it was so authentic, it was the typical dialogue you have with friends.
Just in case you hadn't realised yet, I bloody loved this book. So stop reading this review, that basically doesn't do the book any justice, and go buy a copy and get reading it for yourself, you won't regret it.

1st let me say..Hellooooooo to Mr.sexy Reuban what an alpha wolf hmmm woof woof....I wanted to shout while reading this book "BITE ME REUBAN"...Now that I have that out of the way...I felt in love with this book, love the sarcasm between the characters...Jess and her bff Maria had me rolling in laughter..This book has vampire and wolves and dragon and archangels..Well you get the pictures and is hot, sexy hot...As soon as I stared reading it, I knew I was going to have problem putting it down....I just want more.. I just became a fan of Ms.Jennings what a awesome book she wrote with this wonderful characters...So hell yeah, I highly recommend this series...

The beginning was: confusing.
The middle was: intriguing.
The crescendo was: confusing.
The finish/ending was: both confusing and intriguing.
The characters were: greatly portrayed.
The worldbuilding was: excellent.
The language was: used really well.
The themes represented in the book were: awesome.
Would I recommend this book? Yes/no? Why/why not? Yes I would. It was fresh, intriguing (if a bit confusing...), but I would like to read the next book in this series. Maybe it'll fill in some of my questionmarks.

The crescendo was: confusing.
The finish/ending was: both confusing and intriguing.
The characters were: greatly portrayed.
The worldbuilding was: excellent.
The language was: used really well.
The themes represented in the book were: awesome.
Would I recommend this book? Yes/no? Why/why not? Yes I would. It was fresh, intriguing (if a bit confusing...), but I would like to read the next book in this series. Maybe it'll fill in some of my questionmarks.

So many twists and turns that it kept me wanting more and more. This is part of an extended series that I will continue to read after they come out. What do you get when you have Vampires, Gremlins, Archangels and Werewolves? The cast of characters in this book. Not to mention Oracles and Warlocks too. Somehow this author manages to have all of them in this story and still keep it paranormally believable is amazing! I still cant get over where fangs come in to the story...you'll have to read it to believe it.

This story was absolutely amazing!!!! I love paranormal, romance, and erotica ! And this book so delivered ! It's action packed and the sex sceenes are so hot! The writing is great it's like watching a movie play out with many surprises. And she gives great descriptions of the characters! And when it ended I'm like please let there be more! And so glad there is! Because man did it leave on a cliff hanger!! I don't want this series to ever end! So I can't wait to see what happens with Reuban and Jess. Even the secondary characters are interesting.

It has a great story, but for me I'm not a fan of the whole instant love, but just because it's not my cup of tea doesn't mean it's not someone else's flavour. I LOVE maria, she's crazy and inappropriate and easily my favorite character. Can't wait to see how the stories progress and I hope to hear more of Maria and kroll.

Ok so the start of the book was good jess had a sense of humour but then the sense of humour in the book went weird like the author was trying to hard for it to be funny. Yea I gave up it was terrible lol sorry

Couldn't even finish it. The concept was good and the sex scenes were smoking hot, but it was all over the place for me. I really wanted to like it but it was just too much.

Wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. There were commas missing all over the place and that made the reading a bit hard. That being said, it was a solid story with awesome sex!
