FAITH ON EARTH? When the Son of Man cometh, shall he find faith on earth? Finding hope and purpose through seeing God s big purpose is the joy of every Christian. This new book by Lou Poumakis packs the essence of the life-long study and writing of philosopher/theologian R.J. Rushdoony into 152 pages of vision, hope and practical answers to life and the world around us. --Publisher's ad text
There is a lot of truth in this book. Yes Christians gave up the high ground and relinquished popular thought, culture, legislation and public discourse in general to the humanists, the non-believers those who hate our Lord and Savior. The author would like us to change this and advocates a change by Christians to reclaim the country. In theory this is possible in practicality not so much. We have the rulebook, we just don't have the will. But all this does not negate the fact God is still in Control and He will set everything right when He returns and then every knee will bow. Until that time we are to preach the truth, live our lives as directed by Christ, lift up our cross and follow Him. Not to capitulate to anything which compromises obeying God. Persevere in the face of adversity. Holding fast to the faithful word we have been taught. Titus 1:9
Here's a well-written, easy to read introduction to the optimistic Christianity of those of Rousas John Rushdoony and his ilk (eg, Greg Bahnsen). Loved it! In "Faith On Earth" Lou Poumakis makes the Gospel sound very much like the Good News of the Bible and not the doom and gloom "Bad News" of much of the church today that says everything is bad and will get worse!
