Well firstly the grammar mistakes in the beginning was a little off putting as I had to stop and think but despite this and after a little while it was corrected so I could flow much better which brought me to the conclusion that I like this book, it's sassy, funny and a good read. The characters all have brilliant depth and the love story is quirky so all in all I recommend these books. So I'm on to the best instalment :) x

Got this for free on my Kindle. It was fine, nothing great but nothing horribly bad either. The only really bad part was the editing. Pronoun usage was inconsistent. The whole thing needed more development, which would have probably helped with connections to the characters. The narrator was almost likeable; her sense of humor was good, but her insecurities, body issues, and man-neediness just annoyed me. Overall, I didn't hate it. It wasn't a great read, but it certainly wasn't terrible, and I probably will read the next ones when I'm looking my next easy, mindless read.

I REALLY LIKED THE STORYLINE NOT TO CRAZY ABOUT THE LEAD FEMALE CARLY. IT'S CLEAR THAT SHE HAS SOME ISSUES THAT ARE HINTED AT BUT NOT REVEALED YET(I'm sure it will be told in one of the upcoming installments). THIS BOOK WAS FREE ON AMAZON AND A VERY SHORT READ 80 PAGES. I HAVE SAID BEFORE HOW TIRED OF SERIES I AM , WELL, THIS IS A SERIES. FIRST BOOK FREE, SECOND BOOK & THIRD BOOK $2.99 OR ALL THREE $4.99(the best thing). THE 2ND & THIRD INSTALLMENTS ARE ALSO VERY, VERY SHORT. I HAVE NOT DECIDED IF I WANT TO READ THE OTHER BOOKS YET. BIG LONG SIGH!!!! ;?

2.0*-2.5*

Felt like a light version of a romantic suspense. Didn't fully understand the h, let alone swoon for the H. I did wonder what's in the h's past to make her who she is. And the suspense part did get me curious. I guess everything felt rushed since it's not really a long read... And it was kinda' sneaky of Ms. Bayard to end it the way she ended it since now I kinda' want to know what happens next. But kinda' not at the same time... I'm torn... hmmm...

As always this is just to let you know before reading my review that I write my reviews as I am reading so I don’t forget anything I wanted to say. So please keep that in mind when you reading this and if it seems like I am making any guesses as to what MIGHT happen this is why.

This book is moving pretty slowly for me…hope it starts picking up soon.
Okay woman you find out what’s in the package…what is your first thought at illegal activity that was going on without you knowing???? GO TO THE POLICE!!!! OMG…she seriously…WTH…just WTH.
Trying to put the confrontation with Mitchell behind me I opened the day's schedule. All of the runs normally assigned to Darius had been portioned out to the other guys. That was weird. If he was sick or quit why hadn't Mitchell mentioned it?
I’ll tell you why he didn’t say anything…because Darius is probably dead…THAT’S why!!!

So yea this story has sped up a lot it’s like I jumped from 2% to 62% in a matter of a few minutes…but I still don’t understand why Carly didn’t just go to the cops as soon as she found out what was in the package. Stupid girl…and why doesn’t Sam tell her he is a cop??? I mean seriously…unless he is FBI or CIA then I could see why, but no he is Narcotics…
I am still ticked that she didn’t take the pills straight to the police when she saw them…any sane person would NOT have delivered them especially knowing what was in them.

This one surprised me…I really liked it, it has romance, mystery, and suspense which is usually hard for me to read but this book was an easy read despite the very beginning at least until Sam showed up in the book. Then from that moment on it was pretty fast paced. I can’t wait to see just what happens to Carly and if Sam can save her from whatever or whoever has taken her.

This is a really good story. It's a quick read, and it has a fair amount of spelling mistakes - but aside from that it's a great story.
At some points I can really relate to Carly, and how she feels about herself. I fell in love with Sam almost right away, he seems like such a nice young man. If only it was that easy to find a man!!
I think it was a very exciting story, a real page-turner - I just couldn't put it down!

Just Okay

I gave this book three stars because I thought it was just okay. I didn't like that there was no real conclusion to the story and finding out I would need to buy two other books to get the conclusion. There were obvious grammatical errors that should have been spotted during editing and at times the dialogue was a little ridiculous. It wasn't a complete waste of time but I'm also not burning to read the other books.

It was OK

Not bad just wasn't what I had wanted to read. Would read all of the rest if they were in one book. just don't like these serials.
I felt Carly was pretty emotional but who wouldn't be with getting caught up in a mob operation. Sam is the regular knight in shining armor, being a cop is just icing. I hated having to stop when there is more! I am going to wait for the whole story before reading any more.

Sam & Carly met when they literally ran into each other in a bar. After having what she figured would be a one night stand, things took a crazy turn. Things started to happen at work that scared her and Sam wanted to see her again. After spending some time together and finding out what Sam did for a living, she thought she was safe. But was she?

Part of a series. This short story ends abruptly. Self published in need of a proofreader. Good potential on the story. Really like Sam. Carly was hit or miss for me. Would probably need to finish the series to be sure I liked her or not.

Carly was an awesome spitfire I loved her spirit. Sam, that yummy hunk of man where can I find one of him? His swoon worthy passion for Carly and his need to keep her safe..... and satisfied made him a dream worthy book boyfriend in my opinion.

I wish the author would put more details about the heroine being all curvy instead of telling the reader once in a while. Typical novellas, this book is quite short and lack of details.

Overall good start, can't wait to read the sequel.
