He had planned a perfect weekend for her…
Gabriel “Force” Banner has been unable to get a certain sexy accountant out of his head. Sole Regret’s inventive drummer has created big plans to keep sweet Melanie entertained all weekend long. Unfortunately, Melanie arrives for their rendezvous with a bit of baggage that just might ruin their fun.

She didn’t mean to make things difficult…
Melanie wouldn’t blame Gabe if he left her at the airport with her bit of baggage, but he’s determined to make their limited time together work. When they leave behind the bustle of New Orleans and the rock ‘n’ roll scene to visit his serene oasis outside of Austin, Texas, their romantic weekend seems to be back on track. But life has a way of butting in at the worst possible times.

Today is the release day for Tell Me. I hope you enjoy the continuation of Gabe and Melanie's story!
October 4, 2013
3.5 ★'s

Gabe and Melanie haven't been able to quit thinking of each other since their night together. Gabe is getting frustrated especially with all the other band members bringing their girlfriends/whatever on the bus so he decides to ask Melanie to spend the weekend with him which she happily obliges.

This book begins with a little change for the series...all the books will now be more than just one night. I was quite happy with the change since I always felt the books were too short.

I just want to start out by saying that I have a hard time sometimes separating Sole Regret from the Sinners. Not while I'm reading a book but IMO there are a lot of similarities. For example, Gabe and Melanie remind me A LOT of Brian and Myrna from the Sinners.

description

I really liked Gabe and Melanie's down time. The two of them just enjoying life and getting to know each other was a nice break from all the performing and bus rides.

Another big positive is the whole dog love story...it was so heartwarming! I hate having to wait five more books for Trust Me to find out what happened!

description

I always have a hard time picturing Gabe's (aka Dr. Kink E. Inventor) inventions though! I'm not sure that I would have the patience to be "tested" on although Melanie really seemed to enjoy. It did make me laugh when her patience ran thin at times!

And I wasn't really too interested/happy with Melanie's sidekick. It's always hard to know if something more will come of the story of if it was just added for drama.

Because it was time away from touring, we really didn't get too much of the other band members. Lindsey? is still hanging around...not sure when we'll get more of that story.

Adam and Madison is up next with Tease Me.

Favorite quotes:

♥ “I love you. Is that what you want me to tell you?”

She smiled brightly and nodded, happiness giving her heart buoyancy.

“Then I’ll tell you again. I tell you as often as you need to hear it. I love you, Melanie.”

3 ½ Gabe Banner Stars

Well Sole Regret fans the series has come full circle because this is Gabe and Melanie's book2. Thanks to Olivia Cunning, we are lucky enough to get one more story of them after this one!

Our couple is desperate to see each other again ever since their ‘one night’. Sadly, Melanie’s best friend/roommate Nikki insinuates herself into Gabe and Mel’s long weekend and wow is she a royal pain.

I did enjoy seeing another side to Gabe as he brings Melanie to his home in Texas. This mohawked inventor/rock god actually sports a cowboy hat and brings her fishing. He is the proud owner of two great puppies so when Nikki wasn’t taking over their time together Gabe’s dogs and his family did.

Onto the sexy stuff because this is an Olivia Cunning's book...

Gabe had an assortment of new inventions to try out and any reader knows that whenever these words come out of Gabe’s mouth…

”I want to try something on you. Are you game?”

The answer should always be YES.

There was a reveal at the end

Overall, the couple had A LOT of interruptions and it kind of gave the book a bit of choppy feel. I was taken back that Gabe wasn’t as confident as I originally thought and readers will learn his sole regret.

P.S. Shade, Oh my Shade he wasn’t so nice to little Nikki but I kinda liked it.

I was happy with how the story ended and I’m looking forward to the next installment.

"Okay," he whispered. "I'm going to roll over and go to sleep now." Typical man, she thought with a grin.

"And pretend I didn't just give you my heart."

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the longer format! And the fact that it's going to be the same three-day weekend told for each guy's book....genius!!

This continuation did not disappoint. I've liked Gabe from the beginning, and his first book was a good start to this series....but after reading Tell Me......GABRIEL BANNER

I was excited to read the new adventures of Gabe and Melanie, but I was bitterly disappointed with this book. Honestly, I was so frustrated during the first twenty pages that I stopped reading it and skipped to the end to discover what happened between these two wonderful characters. Why Olivia chose to have Melanie's irritating friend Nikki force her way into the special time Gabe and Mel were supposed to have together is beyond me. I found Nikki's presence so irksome that I was turned off from the book. I hope Olivia will rethink placing such a character into her next book. I am all for conflict and characters that cause roadblocks, but Nikki is a character that damaged my fun. Boo!

I love the characters—Gabe & Melanie—and it was wonderful to see them attempt to take their relationship to a higher level. The storyline shifts away from the glitz & glamour of touring with the band & into a secluded, everyday existence of grocery shopping, cooking dinner, going fishing & hiding out in Gabe's cabin with his two lovable Labradors. Gabe & Melanie prove that they are perfectly compatible in the "real world" & that they are MORE than compatible in the bedroom. This couple's chemistry is off-the-charts. And with each novella, I'm becoming more & more intrigued by Gabe's scientific "inventions." ;)

Unfortunately, this novella was far from perfect. The opening pages were difficult to get through, & I almost DNF'd b/c I was utterly fed up with Melanie's best friend, Nikki. Nikki's antics were reprehensible, & her feelings for & behavior towards Melanie go way beyond friendship— beyond codependence. Nikki is obsessed with Melanie, & Nikki has admitted to "orchestrating distress for herself" in order to garner Melanie's attention. She was thrilled to announce that she was "broke" & unable to pay her rent... & that she would have to move into Melanie's small one-bedroom apartment until she could get back onto her feet. Nikki's attempts at financial AND emotional independence have been feeble, at best, & she rather enjoys monopolizing both Melanie's attention & Melanie's personal space. When Nikki moved in, Melanie gave her a credit card to use "in case of emergency." INSTEAD, Nikki used the credit card to purchase an expensive last-minute plane ticket so that she could selfishly encroach on Melanie & Gabe's special weekend.

Nikki singlehandedly ruined "several" parts of Melanie & Gabe's romantic weekend. And although Nikki was COMPLETELY BLAMELESS in the horrific incident that occurred towards the end of the novel, she was culpable for every bad thing that happened prior to meeting up with that UFC douche bag .... Things were especially bad, in the beginning, as Nikki took every opportunity to interfere with Mel & Gabe's reunion. Nikki was causing so much trouble that Gabe was forced to send her away from the arena & back to the hotel... and as a result, Melanie almost had to escort Nikki & nearly missed Gabe's performance.

As I mentioned before, Nikki's fixation with Melanie is co-dependent in nature, but it is also obsessive, manipulative & pathological. Nikki has admitted to "stalking" Melanie's Facebook page & garnering the requisite information so that she could attend the same college as Mel & become her roommate. This girl needs serious psychiatric help, & Melanie needs to honestly assess their friendship & take the appropriate measures to protect herself. Nikki went to great lengths to crash Melanie's romantic getaway with her boyfriend. How much further would Nikki go if Melanie actually got married & started a family? Would Nikki sabotage Melanie's time with her children as well? As long as Nikki is in the picture, Melanie & Gabe's future will be saddled with extra complications.

This installment should have focused more on Gabe & Melanie... and LESS on a mentally-unstable & manipulative secondary character. Therefore, I'm downgrading my rating to *3/5 stars.*

This new installment in the One Night with Sole Regret series continues Gabriel and Melanie’s story. Even though they just knew each other for one night of very hot, crazy sex, they give the feel of a well established couple, still in the new days of falling in love/lust, but a couple. They are having lots of conversations and phone sex(and wow, how scorching was that?!) and missing each other’s company.

I really liked how the novella started and, really, I have no big objections with it besides Nikki! She’s Melanie’s best friend and the biggest manipulator, freeloader and annoying character in the history of annoying characters. I have a feeling that what she says happened to her is a lie and that she’ll try to get in the way of Mel and Gabe’s happiness. I can’t wait to see how she reacts to what Gabe proposed to Melanie!

Ignoring her(which is a bit hard since she got on my nerves so big), everything else in the novella is great. I like how they become more comfortable with each other, how they discuss their problems and how they have fun together without going into bed. Now, that I’ve brought it up, I have to say that Ms. Cunning has a great imagination! She writes some of the best sex scenes I have ever read!

All in all it is a fun addition to the series and I can’t wait to see how the other band members have spent their weekend.

5 stars...I so completely LOVE Sole Regret!

"Okay, I'm going to roll over and go to sleep now....and pretend I didn't just give you my heart."

Sigh...Olivia, you write the best rock stars!

Anyhoo...Gabe

...ah...Gabe how I love you! I mean, how can you not fall in love with a genius drummer that invents sex toys for your pleasure? He's sweet, talented, and we get so much more depth from him in this one over the previous one.
Melanie

Super adorable, responsible, enabling, sexually adventurous Melanie...I really liked her too, though I gotta admit, this shit with Nikki is kinda really killing me and while I understood Melanie's feelings and why it was hard for her, I wanted to shout at her at the same time...
Gabe and Melanie have been texting (well, sexting), video-chatting ;) but Gabe decides if everyone else has their girl with them, he's not staying away from Melanie anymore and he invites her to join him for the weekend. They are both a little anxious at first, they've grown comfortable and perhaps a little bolder over the phone, but being in person is...different.
They quickly realize that their physical attraction is still strong and Gabe's inventions are awesome! The sex is hot!
Gabe is the sweetest guy, I totally fell in love with him all over again.

I am concerned about this whole Lindsey thing! It'll be interesting to see how that whole thing plays out.

Olivia, as always, you've created a masterpiece! I love this series! Can't wait for more!

Pre reading review:

when are you going to be published, Tell me? Cunning needs to kill that @^*%%$^ (if she is not on the book I will be the happiest girl ever). I need you...

After I read the book:

Mrs Cunning do you have any idea how happy you made me? A particular lady wasn't present almost at all and didn't cause a mess. The series escalated to a new level. Now things are more real and more intimate. Now that our couples have more than one night can get the chance to get to know each other and start building their relationship.

The hot scenes were still there, of course. And Gabe's inventions *sigh* But obstacles were also there. Nikki (Melanie's friend) forced herself on them, there was a meet the parents meeting and there was doubt about the other person's feelings.

It's longer than the previous books! Yeah for us! It gave me the feeling that I had read a stand alone. If it wasn't for THE question I would be 100% happy. Gabe and Melanie were isolated from the rest of the band most of the time but there was a peak with them.

I absolutely love Olivia Cunning. Her books are always in my top 5 recommended series. In fact, Olivia's books are on almost every single one of my Top Picks/Favorites lists. Tell Me is the 6th in the One Night with Sole Regret series, and actually brings us one more night (actually a whole weekend) with Gabe and Melanie, who we first met way back in book one, Try Me" target="_blank">Try Me.

Melanie and Gabe were actually my favorite couple of the series, and I was so excited to read more about them! Gabe is the drummer of Sole Regret with the huge mohawk and tattoos on his head (and he's also a very creative inventor heehee). Melanie is an accountant, his complete opposite. But  together, they work. Mel went back to Kansas, so she and Gabe have been having phone sex all week (it's only 5 days later in the book). And boy, that's some hot phone sex!
"He was one lucky son of a bitch for finding a woman like her. He loved turning her into a naughty girl. It had been a goal of his. And... mission accomplished."

Gabe invited Mel to join him in New Orleans for his show, and then back to his home in Austin for the weekend. When Mel came home to pack up, her annoying-as-fuck roommate Nikki started packing to join her. Nikki had spent a night with Shade, but he was done with her.  Nikki tried lying and she said Shade invited her but Mel knew better and put her foot down and told Nikki to stay home.

So Mel is on the plane, sitting next to some huge UFC fighter, when who gets on the plane? Annoying, needy Nikki. And she even used Mel's credit card to buy a ticket! (At this point I already wanted to punch Nikki in the teeth, but it gets so much worse). She interrupted the reunion too! Nookie in the back of the limo with a fuckhot invention -- interrupted by this chick who really needs to be in a special home.

So they dump Nikki in New Orleans, but annoying as she is, you can't help but worry about her. Then we go to Gabe's home in Texas and meet his dogs, who are totally awesome. I fell in love with Lady and Beau, but they basically took the book from Gabe and Mel. Yes, it made Gabe more human, more lovable...but the dogs were a bigger part of this book than anything else. And I worry about them too, Gabe is gone a lot, they need more love.

The sex...well, we know Olivia Cunning can write sex. I mean, she is at the top of my Books with Hot Sex AND Great Stories list. And with Gabe's inventions, there was some good sex.
"That had been so much more than a typical orgasm. She was going to name it megagasm. Or she would once she remembered how to move her tongue"

There just wasn't much much of it! They were too busy with Nikki and the dogs.

That being said, I love Gabe and Mel. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. I loved learning about Gabe and meeting his family. But the side stories of Nikki and the dogs just took too much away from this story for me.

Likes:

-I love Gabe and Mel together.
-The inventions!
-You can't help but love the dogs (even though there was too much for me).
-I loved Gabe's parents.
-Olivia always writes great sex.
-This was a short full length book rather than a novella like the others in the series.
-The humor.
-The fact that the couple laughed and was silly together.

Dislikes:

-Nikki! I feel sorry for her, but she needs help. Melanie is too soft and lets her take total advantage. Nikki needs more help than Mel can provide.
-As much as I adored the dogs, it seemed to be about them too much.

Honestly, it kills be to give an Olivia Cunning book less than 4 stars. Especially because I really did enjoy Tell Me. It just wasn't what I have come to expect and love about Olivia's books. I was reading this as a 'bedtime' story (if you know what I mean) and this is definitely not that type of read. Sure, there is great sex, but it is a much smaller portion of her books than usual. And for me, Needy Nikki really took away from the story. IMPORTANT: If you are a dog lover, this will be closer  a 5 star read for you. I like dogs, but after my son got bit and got stitches, I prefer the little ones :)

Gabe and Melanie's story continues in book 11, Trust Me. I look forward to reading it, and will still read every single one in The One Night with Sole Regret Series.

Damn you, Olivia Cunning!
I’m a working mother. I gotta be at work by 7am every morning come hell or crying children.
And, yet, I gave away my sleep for Gabe and Melanie. Again.
I am such a sucker.
But, I got a smile on my face.
In fact, I’m feeling bulletproof right now--and that’s not tequila talking. That’s the delicious afterglow of a great read, my friends.

Here’s what happened: the email came in that my pre-order of TELL ME had arrived at 2:37 am. I sparked up my iPad and boy howdy, I had me a piece of fantastic fiction to keep me solidly awake until my alarm, had I bothered to set one, would have blared.

Oh, wait…that’s what happened to me.

Here’s what happened in the story: Gabe and Melanie met way back when in TRY ME, which I reviewed in a week-long Sole Regret lovefest. In their world, it’s five days later and Gabe can’t wait another night to have Mel in his bed. Or the shower. Or wherever he doesn’t have to just phone-sex-her-up. He convinces her to join him a night early so they can have three nights together. Mel’s on board—the plane—when her bestie Nikki shows up even though she’s been completely disinvited from this rendezvous. Melanie’s pissed, but she can’t tell Nikki no—not while she’s in the plane, anyhow.

Still, the heat sizzles between Gabe and Mel. So much so that they practically meld with each other. They leave Nikki to enjoy Gabe’s empty suite in New Orleans while they visit his ranch in Austin for the weekend. Mel loves everything about her kinky drummer—his passion, his house, his dogs—even his parents who pop in unexpectedly.

Just when things really start to get emotional, Nikki calls for yet another rescue. And Gabe’s left in the cold. Quite literally. I nearly tossed my iPad (but I forged on!) and WOW. I’m over the moon—at daybreak, Ms. Cunning.

Some favors, if I may?

Write faster?
Or, maybe, get Amazon to release your preorders at a more human hour?
I’m desperate for TEASE ME, so if you could release it…soon?
Pretty please, with Owen on top?
Thanks. You’re a peach, dear.

Yeah so I messed up and read this one before "Tie Me", damn it! I think it will be ok.....anyhoo. Gabe has opened me up to have a new love for drummers! Gabe is perfection! I have established that Gabe can
1. Play the drums flipping fantastically
2. Is a SEX GOD
3. Creates some pretty f%^*tastic sex toys (that I'm currently looking to buy in my local toy shop)
4. Loves his dogs
5. Has incredibly sexy tats
6. Is insanely smart
7. Looks hot in a cowboy hat
8. Isn't afraid to take on a UFC fighter (semi pro)
9. Has the sexiest Mohawk
10. Did I say SEX GOD? Well I'm saying it twice
I love this entire series! It took some getting used to but I have worked it out and I die for Sole Regret. Olivia has ignited my passion for 2 of my favorite things rock music and tattoos. I love this side of Gabe in this book. He is so quiet and smart it's sexy. I love that he uses his powers for good, good as in some pretty intense orgasms. Melanie is one lucky bitch !!! I don't really care for the intense nature of Melanie and Nikki. I feel like Melanie is her crutch and Nikki is never going to grow up. It makes me nervous because I don't know if any relationships could withstand that level commitment between the 2 girls. I felt bad for Nikki and what she went through (no woman deserves that) but she is in need of some serious psychiatric help. She uses sex to feel connected to people b/c she was never loved as a child. It's really sad and I hope Melanie doesn't get dragged down. I think out of this series currently Melanie and Gabe are my favorites. I love there time at his hike and his dogs. They are really frigging adorable! Beau and Lady, awwww!!! I liked gabe's parents also. They both seem like they can be intense but love their kids to death and are gratefully proud of them all. Ok now I will go back to "Tie Me" and hopefully the beginning will make more sense. Great rigging book!! A must read series!!!!

This was different than what I was expecting, but not in an altogether bad way. It starts off with a steamy video chat between Gabe and Mel. Once they meet up in New Orleans and they head to his place in Austin, we get to see a much softer side of Gabe which I completely enjoyed. One thing that bugged me in this book was Nikki, because lets be honest here... the girl drives everyone nuts. I know that although Gabe is annoyed with her as well, he can deep down see the reasoning behind Melanie's need to help Nikki because of his own past regrets. Honestly, I really can't think of a single reason why anyone wouldn't love Gabe. :) He is one sweet and sexy rock star, and who wouldn't want to be a patient of Dr. Kink E!

Definitely deserves more than 5 stars. All I can say is I loved, loved, loved this book. Gabe has always been my favorite of the SR guys and now more than ever he's my number 1. I so loved him and Melanie's story and so glad they had a HEA. I had lots of favorite parts, but my most favorite was when he told her he loved her. As for Nikki, she is a manipulator and I hated her in the beginning, but now I just feel sorry for her. Loved, loved, loved this book. Ms. OC, so looking forward to all of your upcoming books. You're an awesome and amazing woman.

I loved Gabe and Melanie together in the first book, and I hated the Nikki character. I was hoping Nikki wouldn't be in this installment, but she was. Boo. Nikki is worse than a bratty teen, and I don't like Melanie at all when she is interacting with her. Gabe, however, is my favorite dirty rocker boy in Sole Regret!

I was really looking forward to more of Gabe and Melanie but I must say all of the Nikki drama was exhausting and sucked all the fun out of this story. Talk about a MAJOR disappointment! I found myself skimming this book just to read the snippets of Gabe and Melanie-which there definitely weren't enough of.

As a fan of Ms. Cunning's other rock star series of books I was immediately drawn to this series and taken on a rollercoaster ride of differing degrees of satisfaction throughout each of the installments so far. This book left me equally torn as there were some great moments between the main characters and their crackling chemistry, with other moments leaving me irritated, mainly concerning the secondary characters of Lindsey and Nikki.

This story reunites Gabe and Melanie for a weekend of sexual delights and to see if their initial attraction can become something longer lasting. After a rocky start due to Melanie's friend Nikki and her constant neediness, the two head off to the countryside to indulge in numerous erotic encounters and a sharing of intense emotions. There's a nice balance of steamy interludes and heartfelt talks during this section of the story as we learn about Gabe's sole regret which is truly heartbreaking and rears its ugly head when an accident befalls his beloved dog. We get to see the non-famous side of Gabe which is just as charming and sexy as his on-stage persona. We see a loving man happy to be seen for who he truly is inside as opposed to what he does for a living. We also get to meet his parents who are endearing and who further show his average Joe personality with their typical parental meddling ways. These moments of laid back happiness and scorching sexuality come grinding to a halt courtesy of the increasingly annoying Nikki who has once again been hurt and needs Melanie to make everything better. Her issues and neediness cause the story to veer off into over-the-top misunderstandings and ruin the happy vibe the story had going. Ultimately this speed bump brings them closer together in a conclusion leaning towards happiness that will change the band even more in future installments.

I thoroughly enjoyed Gabe and Melanie together and their time in the countryside was both sweet and super sexy. Gabe is immensely hot, charming, and incredibly caring towards those he cares about. He wants nothing more than Melanie and knows she's "the one" and seeks to prove it to her using many of his sexually satisfying toys. Melanie left me conflicted in her dealings with Nikki. Melanie's extremely caring and feels obligated to keep Nikki safe after all the horrors she endured as a child. Melanie's smart but dumb when it comes to being manipulated by Nikki. She lets herself be walked all over and almost ruins her relationship with Gabe because of Nikki's machinations. In her interactions with Nikki she shows herself to be weak-willed and it's when I'm the most irritated with her. When with Gabe she's carefree and playful and after everything Nikki puts her through she deserves every moment of happiness she can get.

Unfortunately other women in this story are shown in equally poor light. Nikki is reckless and puts herself in positions where she can get hurt. She's manipulative and cares only for herself and the attention she gleans for being flamboyant and I cringed every time she came on the scene. She chases after men who don't want her for more than a moment and her over-the-top melodrama got in the way of my enjoyment of this story. The equally grasping Lindsey returns again, clinging to Owen in hopes of convincing everyone that he's the father of her baby. She's just as annoying as Nikki and I wanted to scream when she came on the scene demanding attention with one rub of her large pregnant belly. These two characters single-handedly brought this story down from the pleasantly entertaining story it was whenever they weren't around. I'm at a loss as to why Ms. Cunning continues to include these toxic characters in this series, but until they vanish permanently, this series will always be inferior to her Sinners on Tour series. Ignoring their existence I enjoyed Gabe and Melanie's evolving romance and the heartfelt moments they shared nicely alongside some super sweaty scenes. Even with my exasperation this is still a series I'm obsessed with as these rockers are to die for and I look forward to their continuing journey towards individual happiness.....and for Lindsey and Nikki getting kicked to the curb!

Tell Me
3 Stars.
I love Olivia Cunning's work, I love Soul Regret, and the antics the boys get up to. I love reading about all the boy's journeys to get their individual Happy Ever After's, and eventually finding out what each character's Soul Regret is.

This is Gabe "Force" Banner's turn to share MORE Than One Night With Sole Regret.

I love Melanie and Gabe together, they compliment each other perfectly, always have done. Mel doesn't take any crap from Gabe, and certainly isn't scared off by any of his "inventions". Shes open and honest, and shares with Gabe, whereas he is secretive and brooding about the real Gabe Banner.

She was ready to get to know him on a deeper level. He never said much about
himself, and she couldn’t help but wonder about him. She was naturally nosy.

Mel has a natural way with her, and can make Gabe feel comfortable in any situation, even talking about himself.

“Sometimes I think you’re trying to scare me away,” she said.
His killer smile faded, and he lowered his eyes, looking guilty.
“You are,” she said in disbelief. “Why?”
He shrugged. “I don’t really want you to go. I just… I’ve never had someone accept everything
I am the way you do. The women I’ve been with in the past have mostly known me as Force, the
drummer of Sole Regret, but you… You insist on getting to know Gabe, the geek who couldn’t get a
date in high school. And I guess…” He shrugged. “I guess I’m just looking for your deal breaker to
see if I can overcome it and win you for real.”

Gabe has always felt he let his parents down by becoming a Rock Star, so when he takes Mel to "meet the parents" and they immediately hit it off, he finds out, because of Mel's naturally sweet ways, that his parents are more proud of him than he would have ever dreamed of!

“I can’t believe you think we’re disappointed in you, Gabe,” his mother said. “I never thought
you’d take my bragging the wrong way.”
“You have a right to brag about Leslie and Jennifer,” Gabe said, “they’re both everything you
expected them to be.”
His mom reached over and patted his face, rather harder than necessary. “You, hush. I was
bragging about you. Every family has a doctor. Hell, ours has twelve, but not everyone can say they
have a rock star for a son. But I still hate those damned tattoos. On. Your. Head. Gabe. Why did you
have to get them on your head?”
Melanie giggled.
“The young lady seems okay with them,” his dad said.
The young lady seemed okay with everything about him. And for the first time in a very long
time, he found he could relax in the company of his parents.

Our couple have a few dramas to face during their time getting to know each other, The least of which is dealing with Nikki, Mel's friend who inadvertently introduced her to Gabe. I really could have done without her being in the picture at all. She is way too needy for my likes, and just about drove me mental! Please, please, please, Olivia, Don't write her into Gabe and Mel's story again!!! Have her committed or something,.... anything! I could see her being the cause of a permanent split between the couple if she hangs around too much.
Also the sooner Lindsay has that kid and is out of the picture the better too, glad she was'nt very prominent in this book too.

Nikki is the reason I have had to drop my rating for this book. I really couldn't stand her. Hence 3 stars.

I do not know how Olivia Cunning keeps doing it but with every Sole Regret book that she writes the stories and the characters just keep getting better and better.

We first met Gabe (Force) Banner in the first installment of the Sole Regret series Try Me, Gabe is Sole Regret's drummer and in this book he meets Melanie who snuck backstage with her annoying girlfriend Nikki (who is a first class pain in the ass!) Gabe and Melanie start to talk backstage they realise that they have and an attraction for each other and well.... you know the rest.

Ok on to book 2 of the Gabe and Melanie saga-Tell Me. This story centers around the more personal relationship that develops between Gabe and Melanie. Gabe brings Melanie to his home in Austin, Texas for a weekend that he hopes will bring them closer only to have some problems to face their way in the mist of the weekend. The biggest problem of all is Melanie's friend Nikki who I wanted to kill because she just wouldn't let Melanie and Gabe be together without her trying to ruin it for them. I'm not going to get into what she does (get the book) because you have to period!

What I loved about this book is how you really get to know both Gabe and Melanie and how both of them have so much to offer each other and both face the reality that they really do care for one another and not in just a sexual way.

Gabe is so adorable in this book that you just cannot help but fall in love with him. I usually devour Olivia's books in either a day or two usually the Sinner's books because they tend to be longer but I found with this book that I didn't want it to end EVER!!!!!

I just love the Sole Regret books and with each new one that comes out Olivia just makes you wanting more and more and more. I am looking forward to reading the next installment Tease Me and whatever other Sole Regret books comes after that.

Great work Oliva and thanks for making this such a great series.

Two very disappointed stars for this book. Maybe it was a case of mismatched expectation and reality. The first book in this series, Try Me, deals with these same two characters, Melanie and Gabe "Force" Banner. I was really looking forward to their "second date" but this book was just a train-wreck to me.

I could understand Nikki's fascination with Jacob after the weekend she spent with him, and could even understand her wanting to accompany Melanie on her weekend with Gabe. But Melanie explicitly asks her not to come, which she ignores, then proceeds to get into situations that have potential for great harm not only to Nikki, but to her friends. That's not really friendship, is it?

I liked that Melanie was concerned about her friend, but she was also an enabler. Nikki needs more help than Melanie can provide. I don't know, but the friendship between Mel and Nikki really bugged me. Nikki thought nothing of ruining the weekend of the one person who truly cares about her.

And I just did not feel the spark between Gabe and Mel that burned so very bright in the first book. There was lots of talk in Try Me to get the reader pumped up for Mel's visit to Austin, and frankly it just sputtered out for me. I didn't feel the same connections between these two characters. The spark wasn't there. Their time out of bed fell flat for me, and even the erotic scenes were lacking. Where was the passion? Gabe seemed angry for a good portion of this story (not that I blame him after Nikke messes up the weekend.)

I don't know if its the format or the content, but this book did not work for me, not in the way their first meeting in Try Me did at least.

Yes another great story. What I loved was how deep the characters family and upbringing came front and center. There was a part where I was even more in love with this drummer! What a big reveal!

I absolutely LOVE Mel and Gabe. Maybe my favorite couple. But Nikki makes me a bit nauseous. People like that suck the life out of everyone. Can we not see her again? That would be great. But MORE of Gabe's creations please!

What I Love About This Novella:Well first of all if Gabe can invent all these awesome sex toys then why I can’t buy these suckers online or in a sex toy store? Someone needs to start putting his invention to the test because they sound super fun! Who wouldn't love a totally hot scientist that just so happens to be rock star with a killer Mohawk and soft heart? Other than Shade, Gabe Banner is my favorite band member in Sole Regret. He’s freaking awesome and there isn't anything I don’t love about him. He has that great soul that is totally deep, and it’s so cute how he still sees himself as that nerdy band geek he was in high school, even if he has millions of fans.

I like Melanie a lot because she’s like the normal girl that just so happens to meet a rock star and then they fall for each other. Like that’s just my dream come true right there in one sentence. Why doesn’t this kind of stuff happen in real life? I like Melanie a lot and I love that she is such a great girlfriend but even at the end of the book Nikki, her best friend, really got on my nerves. If Olivia Cunning wrote Nikki to be this annoying presence in Melanie’s life than she succeeded! What Nikki does do though is bring out the best qualities of Melanie in a lot of ways, showing how amazing a character she is. There were times when I felt Melanie was just a sucker for Nikki’s manipulation but I get it, and I appreciate Nikki being Melanie’s foil in this series.

Cons: Like I said before Nikki is really freaking annoying, I wanted to slap her across the face at certain points in this story. If one of my friends tried to ruin my romantic weekend with a new boyfriend she might still be my friend after it, but she would have a hand print on her face for quite some time! I hope that if their story continues into another novella either Nikki will not be present or she will be less annoying, because truly a person can only take so much.

Also I just love Gabe Banner he’s freaking perfect. But here’s the thing, he’s too perfect. I had to keep reminding myself that they have only know each other a week and this is only the second time they have seen each other because Gabe and Melanie were just laying it a little too think. I get these are novellas and the whole point of One Night of Sole Regret means you get just one night in the beginning but damn, Gabe was so sweet at times my teeth hurt! I like more jaded characters and Gabe doesn't deliver that for me, but that’s okay I have Adam to give me more of a dramatic past. I can’t wait to get to his story next!

This is going to be a short and sweet review cause I am honestly not bothered to write anything else and I am extremely bored. I read this book because I was looking for a fast read and I know this is a novella and I wanted to finish a book extremely fast. It worked. I have read the other books by Olivia Cunning and it is really nice to hear about Gabe and Melissa again and not only in the shallow facade of sex. Though there was a lot of it. I am really glad Olivia stopped doing the one night routine and made it a three day weekend book. It made the story much more deeper and we found out a lot more about the main characters.
Honestly, I just don't why Olivia put Nikki in the story at all. It just added drama which was not needed. There's not much I can really say about this book to be honest because it is not that deep of a book and I was expecting that so I am not surprised.
The kinky inventions were interesting because there were not normal but for some reason they did not disturb me as they should. Part of the reason could be because I read fifty shades of grey and nothing could really top that.
There was more emphasis on friendship in this book than the previous books and I liked that about it. Thats basically about it. There's really nothing more I can talk about.
I will write a better review in a few days but, right now couldn't be bothered :)

oo this book takes off with Gabe and Melanie trying out this long distance relationship. Gabe planned a really awesome weekend for Melanie. Melanie even takes of work early so that they can spend some quality time together. But Nikki, being as codependent and clingy as hell really messes up that plan. It's like they have a 3 year old kid that doesn't take no for an answer. She really annoys the ever loving crap out of me. And the fact that melanie puts up with it, is really beyond me. I mean nikki for crying out loud, you are a grown woman. Stop acting like a 14 year old, spoiled whorish brat that is desperate for attention. She really is an annoying big baby. I just wanted her to get lost and grow the hell up.
I loved Gabe and Melanie time. Gabe's creations were seriously hot. I see an other career path for Olivia Cunning. Those things sound brilliant.
I liked Gabe and Melanie's relationship in this book. There really trying to get to know each other better and they grow together. There really awesome together.

I fell in love Melanie in Try Me, I think she is a real girl next door kinda girl. I really enjoy reading about her and Gabe and there Romance as it is blossoming. Cannot wait for there next book in this series. And Gabe, I think he is becoming my fave of the Sole Regret Boys. And I'm a big fan of Dogs so fell in love with Lady and Beau also. (P.S. Was so thankful that Lady was ok by the way, lol).
And Nikki, well she just frustrated the hell outta me, hasn't she heard the saying 'Two's Company, Three's A Crowd".

I really enjoyed this book, I was bored with Tie Me (Kellen & Dawn). This book has made me fall back in love with this series, just wished I knew when the next one was coming out. :)
