Spit: On Patrol #1
Spit is following a group of Sneakers to see how they are getting into the Border Patrol supply depots, when he is captured—but not by Sneakers. Another group, one that has snake people and lizard centaurs working within its ranks has taken him captive. The question is: Are they friend or foe? I am a Canberra-based author who likes writing stories for young people. My stories can be scary, funny, spooky and strange, but that’s the way I like it. I hope you don’t mind. I like dinosaurs, aliens, dragons and drawing. I would rather write about imaginary lands and places, but sometimes the real world creeps into my head and won’t go away until I put it in a story. I think the real-world stories are the scariest of all. They are definitely the hardest to write.

I wrote Spit back in 1996, and submitted it to a couple of publishers, but it didn't suit their lines. This year, I decided I would independently publish it and revised, edited and formatted it accordingly. The cover is also one I created for it. The story is as follows:
