The price of power...

After Cheyenne Martin's death, everyone at Easton Academy is struggling to recover from yet another tragedy--especially the girls of Billings Hall. With Cheyenne gone, they need to elect a new leader. And who better than Reed Brennan, the ultimate Billings Girls?

As the new Billings president, Reed suddenly has access to power she never imagined. Gossip is reported to her immediately, she has first dibs on everything from dining tables to dorm rooms, and Billings's most powerful alumnae are at her beck and call. So when Easton's students discover they're the only prep school on the East Coast not invited to this year's all-inclusive Legacy party, everyone turns to Reed to get them back on the list.

Reed is the most powerful girl at Easton.

She revels in her newfound status, but knows better than anyone that the Bilings leaders have a tainted legacy: Ariana was institutionalized, Noelle was expelled, and Cheyenne just died. History has a way of repeating itself at Easton, and now that Reed has everything she's ever wanted, she has everything to lose.

This was a YA contemporary story about students at an elite boarding school.

Reed got a bit ahead of herself in this book, and let the power of being the new president of Billings go to her head a bit. She really did begin to think that she was all-powerful, and that she could achieve anything with a couple of phone calls.

The storyline in this was about the Legacy dance, and about Reed trying to find a way for the students of Easton to attend, even when they had been snubbed by the party throwers, and banned by their headmaster. We also got a bit of a love triangle happening, with Reed continuing to flirt with Dash even when she was going out with Josh. This was an interesting story though, and it kept my attention well throughout.

The ending to this was a bit of a cliff-hanger.

Decided to give this series one last go after the last one sucked so bad and this one ended up pleasantly surprising me! Things got mega scandalous and I am actually intrigued to carry on further. Looks like I'm not done with this series after all, ha.

I don't why I continue to read this series but for some reason it is strangely compelling even though character reed absolutely irritates me to tears and it feels like she consistently makes the wrong choice whenever the opportunity arises. In fact there aren't many likeable characters in this book and some of the situations they find themselves in are somewhat ridiculous but still i speed through these books and cannot look away from beginning top end.

This books spans the course of maybe a month or so from a couple of days after Cheyenne's death to Halloween but there seems to be a lot going on during this time. Reed and the rest of Billings House are still reeling from the Cheyenne's death and for Reed in particular, guilt due to Cheyenne's last email. One thing about these book, in which this one was no different was there were lots of twists and turns and nothing is ever as it seems.

As much as I pretty much dislike virtually every character in this book, I am almost certainly still going to continue on with this series

Ahhhhhh, the Private books,
I've been devouring these books
like they were candy lately.
I read them in like 2 hours flat.

Thoughts on "Legacy":
*Yay, Noelle is back!
Admit it, you love to hate her.
*What's with the Dash thing, its
just so weird, i mean, seriously?
*For some reason I just don't like
Sabine, something always seemed up
with her, and i cant quite place my
finger on it.
*NNNOOOOOO JJJJOOOOSSSSHHHH! Reed,
what did you do?????
*Ahhhh, I smell trouble in the next book!

CAN'T WAIT! =)
"Ambition" here I come!

I feel like I’ve gotten in a slump lately where I fee these books have been consistently “pretty good” for a while now. I find it entertaining but not enough goes on in the first halves of these books. There is also a pattern of Reed being very naive and self centered. She essentially believes every guy is in love with her AND she tosses around the word “love” like crazy. She’s just consistently sabotaging her own happiness and acts surprised when people are annoyed with her after she blows them off. 🤷🏻‍♀️I was just hoping for a lot more character development by now, since I’m officially half way done with the series.

This was definitely the best book as of now out of all the Private series books I've read. Wow. I was left overwhelmed, which is exactly why I rate this book 5 stars. The others were 4 stars, but this one..wow. There were minor typos that I saw, but no book is perfect, I'm just a grammar freak. :)
If I was to skip this book, I would probably not understand the rest of the Private books. This one just has so many huge changes, and hints as well (about Cheyenne, that is). It changed my perspective on people as well, such as Josh and Dash. I really enjoyed this book, and I finished it in about 2 days flat, I was so addicted.

This is probably the book I remember the most. Well, the ending where I don't think I've read any past this one before, so I'm excited to see what else happens. But this book was also a let-down. It's getting too far-fetched. Of course I'm still keen, but not AS keen as I have been previously.
Like honestly she is just one of the most annoying main characters. I don't have the energy left to rage about this book anymore, but I will continue.

As much as I love Josh overall, I didn’t really care for him in this one. He was kind of a jerk to Reed. Dash is straight up sexy - with an awesome name. Noelle is one of my favorite characters of the series - she’s got major sass and can be kind of snotty, but she’s always there for her friends. Crazy cliffhanger at the end - can’t wait to reread the next one!

I just love Reed as president for Billings, so much better than Cheyenne. She treats the girls with respect. However, I do not like Noelle being back. She always has to have her way. It is a big change for Reed. She is used to Noelle getting her way, so she doesn't have a strong enough backbone. I hate that Reed has feelings for Dash when she is supposed to be with Josh. In the end, Reed makes some horrible decisions and has to live with it. I really hope the guilt doesn't consume her and she can move on learning from her mistakes and putting them behind her.

i REALLY enjoyed this book but it really annoyed me how josh was really moody during this hole book and didnt support reed, and they keep fighting. I dont understand how Josh could be soo angry at reed when in fact he was off mucking around with cheyenne. There was a reason for him but later in the books we really understand why reed was willing to cheat on Josh because someone drugged her and josh doesnt believe her even though reed had to believe josh.

So these books are addictive, I think because every book leaves you with a cliff hanger. This time it’s the fact that cheyanne might not be dead, and reed has been ditched by josh after him walking in. On her with Dash. Who knows where the story is going from here, but I’ll be quickly finding out!

My least favourite among the first 6 books! I'm not exactly connecting with the new Billings Girls. Honestly, I don't even really know who is who except for Sabine because she actually had more dialogues then the rest. I'm really missing the old Billings Girls. Each of them had their own character and there were more drama when they were around. The previous book was good because of Cheyenne. For me, this book was really boring because it's just about the girls trying to get into Legacy. I kinda knew they'd somehow find their way. Billings Girls always get their way through things. Besides that, I really don't understand what's wrong with Reed, like seriously. How can she just jump from one boy to the other? I still can't believe she'd be so dumb to just give herself like that to Dash just after they exchange few emails that were not even that flirty. I'm still shocked that she would just start kissing Dash right after she broke up with Josh. -.- I thought Reed was smarter than that. I'm still shocked she messed up big time like this. Oh well, I hope the next book will be better.

Legacy, the sixth book in the Private series follows Reed Brennan’s life after the death of Cheyenne Martin. The ladies of Billings house elect Reed to be their president and Reed relishes her newfound popularity and power. Being president of Billings means being privy to everyone’s secrets and gossip, having a bank account so large she doesn’t know what do with it and access to all Billings alumni.

When Reed finds out that Easton students haven’t been invited to the notorious Legacy party, she is livid and is determine to find out who is behind snubbing Easton. When Noelle surprisingly returns, she is ready and willing to help Reed…who doesn’t always want her help.

I liked this book, but I’m not sure I like Reed’s newfound confidence and personality change. It just seems a little drastic, especially since the series only takes place over the course of a year. I just cant seem to fully believe that Reed is supposed to have such a drastic personality change in that span of time.

I am excited that Noelle is back…the book is way more exciting with her present.

Cheyenne Martin committed suicide.
Reed Brennan feels responsible since the last note she ever received from Cheyenne did blamed her for her death.
With Cheyenne gone, the Billings Girls are in need of a new leader. Who better than Reed Brennan for that position?
With that being said, Reed Brennan became the most powerful girl at Easton.
But this power isn't so wonderful. Now that she's president, everyone expects her to get them invitations for the Legacy, the most exclusive party on the East Coast, and her relationship with Josh Hollis is getting ruined when Dash is around.

What happened? First off, the Reed Brennan I knew was naive and bland, then suddenly turned kind of interesting after a while. But THIS? She was pathetically stupid. Way to go, Reed. Not only did you lost your boyfriend by cheating on him, you also accidentally burned the Hall.
Great job.

Hope you fix that on the next book.

I was worried that this book would be a let-down... but by the end of it, I'm not sure why I was worried. Yes, in this book the main character, Reed, does start making many, many decisions that are illogical at best. Yes, sloppy editing means that there are tons of random little mistakes in the text like missing "the"s, "if" instead of "of," that kind of thing. Also, bigger mistakes, like Reed reasoning that an alum can't make possibly it up from Yale since it's so far away... um, isn't Easton also in Connecticut? It's a tiny state, people, nothing in Connecticut is too far away from anything else in Connecticut! Never the less, this book contained enough exciting moments to still be a total page-turner. As much as I want to hold off on reading the next one, I don't foresee myself waiting too long to tear into it.

In his book Reed Brennen becomes president! When she is president she gets all her real friends Billing girls. With her being president she has a lot to look up to. Sometimes it is too much for Reed. She needs to get her girls into the Legacy party. But how?

I can make a text to self-connection with Reed. Reed and I are kind of the same because she is organized and likes to get all her friends invited to the same party so that they could all hang out together. I also try to do what he does which is mostly just try to be in charge.

I would give this book 5 stars because I like that in the book there are struggles and then she always finds a way to make it better. But that also sometimes she needs help from friends. I would recommend this book to people who like books about friend ship and to people who love to care for others.

As this series has been annoying me with Reeds decision making and constant self-doubt I actually felt this one a lot. Although it was college for me, many of the things she faced brought those memories flooding back.

The beginning of the book was slow for me but as the topics started hitting home, I delved deeper into my past and was able to feel what these girls and guys were feeling; the love, hate, betrayal, friendship, backstabbers, and two-faced bitches. So far this is my favorite of the series.

I enjoyed it, although i wasn't able to really read it all in one sitting like i had done with other books because so far this series seems slightly repetitive and doesn't have a lot of truly noticeable character development.

Good for Reed. Josh is a dick. He asks her to give him the benefit of the doubt about Cheyenne but can't give her the same courtesy.

Argh. Reed can be so intelligent and driven and then so stupid and popularity/hormone driven. I mean, yes, teenager, but a tad frustrating at times.
