I was given this for free for an honest review.... Review contains SPOILERS!!!!!

Hero & heroine were already a couple and in love when book opens. Hero has a job in which he helps abused women. Why he kept that a secret is beyond me and his excuse later on to heroine is too lame.

Anyway, heroine ends up going to a house in which Hero had just followed a woman inside and is not very happy to see heroine there. He tries to get rid of her, but heroine is insistent in learning why he is at this house and who this woman is to him. He gets angry and tells her to leave, so she does because she thinks he is having an affair and he doesn't see her again for 3 years.

So then we have the book opening 3 yrs later with Hero in a relationship with a woman cop he works with and trying to move on with her but he is still thinking of the heroine.

In this book, there is A LOT of OW (and OM) drama. In addition to this cop OW, Hero had slept with anything & everything in the years he & heroine were separated. He even got married to yet another woman in a drunk ONS in Vegas and never got a divorce!

Later in the book, both of these women try to cause a lot of angst & drama. The cop OW who can't seem to understand that he doesn't want her anymore and tries to seduce him over & over again and the wife whom he said he "forgot" that he got married to and never divorced. By the way, he kept that part a secret from heroine as well until she was found out....

For anyone who reads my reviews, you know that I have a low tolerance for this type of writing, so I am not sure why I was given this to read for free. Anyway, I should have DNF'd, and in most parts, I did & skipped here & there.

To sum up the whole premise of this story, this conversation said it best....

“Oh, please. I heard about you, Mr. Sleeps-with-anything-with-a-pulse. I bet you can imagine, because you’ve already done it!”
“Hey, we weren’t together! And you dated a lot, too, don’t even deny it,” he growls back.
“Yes I dated, that doesn’t mean I slept with everyone,” I say dryly.
“How many men did you sleep with?” he asks in a hushed tone, so no one but me can hear.
“I don’t think that’s-”
“Don’t you even try to tell me it’s none of my business, Sasha Steele,” he says heatedly.
Silence.
“So, how many men?” he repeats.
“How many women?” I throw back at him.
Silence.
Stalemate.

Neither ever answered BTW if anyone is interested and neither was celibate during separation. Heroine was also engaged to OM but broke things off because he had cheated on her.....

The only thing I liked was that it had a very sweet epilogue with the kids....

I think James has no backbone to get rid of his exes. They stay around causing problems and he does not know what to do. He is a weak one who prefers to bury his head in the sand than face the problems head on.
Our heroine has some reason for being insecure because he's too secretive.
After all he moved on quickly after they broke up and never really explained what happened between them. He also totally cut off contact with our heroine making communication difficult between them. His relationship with Tatiana had lasted for a full year. Not to mention his other secrets.

Jye is the result of a drunken night James and I spent together after Nikki and Kade’s wedding.

I called, but James didn’t answer his phone. I kept trying to get ahold of him for two weeks. Once, a woman picked up and said James was ‘busy’.

It’s been two years now, and I think it’s time for me to go home.

Isn’t it weird how women flock to men with children, but men run away from single mothers?

I was still a virgin when I met James, and looking back, I was extremely naïve and filled with fairy tale romances and happily ever afters.

When a man treats you like a princess, you can tell he’s been raised by a queen.

“James! I haven’t been with anyone since you,”

There's one thing I need to take care of, and now. Because if Sasha finds out... No. She won’t. She can’t.

***BETA read for author in exchange for an honest review***

06/08/13

I have been not so patiently wait for James!! The build up to this novel has been intense. I am so happy we get to read all about this man, and of course fall in love with him as we have with every Steele/Jackson man *sigh* they really are swoon worthy!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and once again have stayed up all night to read it even though I have to be at work in a few hours!!

Thank you Chantal, you have such an amazingly gifted mind and you have exceeded my expectations ( that were EXTREMELY high) for James and for that I am truly grateful!
You have managed to break my heart, fix it and give me two character that I fell hopelessly in love with.

James now joins his brothers and Ryder on my favourites list.

'What if I still had Sasha?
What if I were still happy?
What if I didn’t fucking miss her every day?
What if I didn’t let my job push away the woman I love?'

Oh James. You pulled me in with the FIRST page!!
what if indeed....

Then we have Sasha, if I though James had a killer first page, Sasha had me blown away in the first paragraph!! Damn I wasn't expecting that!!!
My jaw hit the ground, and this is where I would usually call my girlfriends to vent and gush, but alas you can't do this as a BETA!!

What a powerful read and I mean that in a very positive and spectacular way! Anyone reading this I think will be hooked after the first 3 pages! I am going to have a book hangover tomorrow, as I could not stop!!

These brother will always have a special place in my heart. They are big and tough, sweet and kind, and have the best sense of humour!!

“Nikki is innocently playing with the kids, and you’re staring at her tits,” I say with a chuckle.
Kade narrows his eyes at me. “This is the last time you will speak of my wife’s delectable breasts.”
I burst out laughing.

So did I James, so did I!

When it's finally revealed what it is that James does for a living I was so so happy! If you loved this man before, be prepared to fall even harder ladies! AMAZING! It shows so much more of his life in depth. I really didn't think it was possible to love this man anymore then I already did, but he got me!

Chantal you seriously kick ass!! I have fallen hard and fast for everything you've written and As I've said before I want my own Steele/Jackson man pleaseeee?!? Just write me into the next story and I'll be a happy lady ;)

'When a man treats you like a princess, you can tell he’s been raised by a queen. And I have no doubt that Lucy is nothing but a queen.'

One thing I really enjoyed about this novel is that nothing was rushed! We have two people that have very deep, very real feelings for each other, and always have, they've been through so much resulting in deep seeded problems they need to fix and they take the time to explore each other, talk to each other and most importantly FORGIVE each other before they start their new relationship. I think this is a vital part of any healthy relationship, and the author really captured this perfectly.

The first date and the sediment behind it was beautiful. I don't think orange tulips or peaches will ever be the same for me :)

I loved reading all about the rest of the family. Finding out bits and pieces from previous books as well as new information like who the special ladies are that are expecting again..... ;)

I love Tee! I really hope she gets a book!!

“I thought I’d liven the place up a little. Besides if I were a man, we all know I’d have the biggest penis.”

Sax, well, I have a soft spot for this kid now! I'm really hoping he make more of an appearance in the future books ;) hint hint !!

Nancy is well...
I have no words, she did add some Drama! I liked that it wasn't dragged out, I find this happens a lot and it does my head in!

There were Lots of ups and downs, this story definitely wasn't boring, that's for sure, it also wasn't over the top, it had a perfect balance of all the nesasary attributes needed for a great novel.

Boy oh boy James, I will say out of all the 'Resisting' series YOU gave me the biggest shock !!

The ending was all wrapped up nicely and I look forward to hopefully seeing more of them in Derek's story :)

I am happy to recommend this to everyone that loves a spicy romance with depth especially those of you that like second chance love stories :)

Omo.. I don't know where to begin. But one thing is for sure, this is my favorite book in the series. :)

James secret job was a mother-fucking-mystery! I kept thinking so many scenarios.. maybe he's a secret agent?! MMA fighter?! James Bond?! Well.. I'm so glad I finally find out because it was killing me since the first book of this series! lol

From the first page it already hooked me!

description

All the secrets and revelations was overwhelming but at the same time engaging it kept me turning the pages. Tatiana was a bitch and she added up some drama in the story but I wish it has more. Oh and don't get me started with the OTHER thing he was hiding.. WOW.

Sasha is very likeable that by the end of the book I fell in love with her character! I like that she didn't make too much unnecessary drama. She wasn't annoying or weak but I'm so glad she wasn't too strong too. She's probably my favorite heroine in this series. :)

It's so fun to see the Steele brothers interactions.. specially when each of them thinks they are their mom's favorite. LOL. They are so adorable! ^_^

Oh one more thing.. The blonde twins.. LOL! They keep popping in every freaking book it's hilarious! XD

Overall 5 stars! I had high expectations on this book and it exceeded it! Okay, I thought Chase was my favorite book because he was so possessive.. but I was a goner when I read Kade and his massive ding dong.. but.. but... I gotta hand it to James.. A good father, brother and a great man all bundled into one!

description

Seriously.. this series keeps getting better and better!
I can't wait for Derek's book and maybe Trey too? and Sax? OMG!!! SO MANY DELICIOUS MEN! I CAN'T WAIT!

He fucked around. She was celibate. She's also a complete doormat. And isn't it just lovely that the stupid h keeps having women he slept with in her face or leaving phone messages for him. You know, because she had no one while he loved her "SO" much that he couldn't stop himself from screwing around with alot of OW. Eye roll. It was only 2 years, what a shallow prick. Quite frankly, this tosser was so busy with all his women he didn't have time to think about the "only woman he ever loved" nor did he bother to try and get her back even though it was completely his fault she left in the first place. Meanwhile this doormat continues to swoon over and stay with this dick even during some of his OW turning up at their door or continuously calling/leaving phone messages and oh yeah he also has a wife that turns up.

Why do the this author's men get to whore around to their hearts content but the women are doormat celibates frozen in time who can only be unfrozen by the man. Absolutely and sexist.

Add this author to the avoid list. Not into misogyny.

BR with Jo and Sammy!

I was so heartbroken when we find out at the beginning of this book what the reason for James and Sasha's break-up was. I'd known from the previous books that they had a history and that Sasha was bitter towards James, but it was never explained much until this book. It was a case of Sasha being at the wrong place at the wrong time and because James had to turn her away for Sasha's safety, she misinterpreted what was really going on and though that James was cheating on her since he was at a woman's home when she saw him. It was just a huge misunderstanding and part of me was upset at James for not trying harder to reach Sasha to explain what was really going on and part of me was upset with Sasha for jumping to conclusions so quickly, but if I was in her place, I don't know that I would have been able to interpret the situation any differently than she did. Neither of them tried hard enough in my mind to confront the situation and resolve it and work on their relationship, they let time go by, all the while Sasha thought the worst of James because they never spoke to each other about what happened that day when she thought he was cheating.

I was completely blown away by the secret that Sasha kept from James for so long as well. She was completely wrong to not tell James what was happening. Yes, she did try to reach him a couple times, but she eventually just gave up and I don't think that was the proper thing to do in her situation. She wasn't completely at fault though, James made his mistakes along the way as well. He knew Sasha had tried to reach him by phone a couple times so all the blame doesn't fall back to Sasha completely- he played his part too in her not being able to tell him something monumental that would change both of their lives after they'd had sex after Kade and Nikki's wedding.

One person that drove me absolutely insane in this book was Tatiana. Her and James have a bit of a history and they do sort of work together, but when James and Sasha were trying to give themselves another chance at a relationship, anytime Tatiana called James would leave for work. The build up throughout the books as to the mystery behind James' job kept me guessing. Just when I'd think it was one thing, I'd change my mind and think it was something else. I was expecting the worst. I really didn't know what to expect. I was so relieved when James' occupation was finally revealed in this book. However, it still drove me crazy how James would drop anything and everything and put his work ahead of other things that should have been a bigger priority to him. He eventually came to realize that his priorities were all screwed up, but it was painful to read about Sasha's struggle whenever James would leave the second Tatiana called, no matter where they were or what they were doing.

Even when Sasha thought everything was out in the open and James was being truthful, she learned he was keeping another secret from her. This one had the potential to halt any progress they'd made in their relationship and she was understandably upset when she found out about it. It's something James should have revealed from the beginning, but sadly he didn't tell her when he should have.

There was so much in this book. There was struggle, heartbreak, shocking moments, deception, misunderstandings, jealousy, unconditional love and forgiveness.

The Resisting Love" series overall has been fantastic! I cannot wait to read the next book in this series Derek, although I'm sad to move on from the Steele/Jackson brothers. Chase and Kade were my favorite books in the series, but as I said, they've all been great!

I loved how close the family is and how Chase, Kade and James always argue over who is the favorite! It's hilarious! This book didn't have as much humor in it as Chase and Kade did, but it was still an excellent book! I'd definitely recommend this series to others.

A few of my favorite quotes from James:

"We're okay, I love you. I've always loved you, and I'm never going to stop," I tell her.

~~~~~~~~
I clutch his shoulders with my hands as he pushes my hair out of my face, staring straight into my eyes. It's always like this with James. The connection. I don't think I'll ever feel it with anyone else.
~~~~~~~~

"I love this face. So fucking beautiful. Your lips. You were made for me."

~~~~~~~~
"I love you so much. I want you in my life, Sasha. Now that I know what it feels like to have you here, I can't go back to being without you. You know I'll never take you for granted and I'll always treat you like the princess you are. We're perfect together, please don't give up on me." I whisper. I'm begging and I don't even care. I will get down on my knees if I have to. I guess it's true, love has no pride.
~~~~~~~~

I catch my breath before I turn onto my stomach and stare into his eyes. It hits me just how much I love this man.
He's my world.
If I could dream up a man that was meant for me, it would be him. There's nothing I'd change about him, I love him just the way he is. Through everything we've been through, we have still come out on top, still together, still loving each other.
James was made for me.

~~~~~~~~
"I want you," I blurt out.
"You have me, always," he says, his tone gentler.
"Promise?"
"You're it for me, Sasha," is all he says as he kisses me with such passion, such love, I know that he means what he says.
This is forever.
ARC provided by the author, Chantal Fernando, in exchange for an honest review.
In the first 2.5 books of the Resisting Love series, James was always such a mystery to me. Out of the three brothers, he is very quiet, private, and secretive. His job required him to disappear for various amounts of time and he would return sore and bruised. He refused to give anyone any details on what his job entailed; even his brothers didn’t seem to know much. So coming into this book, I was definitely looking forward to learning more about him and what he does for a living. And let me tell you, waiting to find out his secret was worth the wait.
Sasha and James have a very complicated history. At one point in time, they were very much in love but one day Sasha found James with another woman, and their relationship was left in shambles. After seeing each other a handful of times since the break-up, Sasha decides to take a two year vacation with family in Scotland. When she returns, James is dating his co-worker, Tatiana, and a situation causes James and Sasha to be in each other’s lives again. Will James and Sasha try to work things out? Will James end his relationship with Tatiana? Will the secrets that both James and Sasha are hiding destroy their fragile relationship? All are questions that are answered in this novel.
Why Just 3 Stars?
While I definitely enjoyed learning about James’ secret and his history with Sasha, I don’t feel like I connected with these two characters as much as I connected with the characters in the previous books. James and Sasha both made some pretty big decisions that I never really understood their reasoning for. For example, James should have been honest with Sasha about his job the first time they dated. He didn’t have to give her specific details, but he could have at least given her a general idea of what he does. This would have prevented a lot of their issues and saved them from a lot of heart break. Sasha also hid a huge secret from James as well and I lost a lot of respect for her because of her decision. I can’t say she ever fully redeemed herself in my eyes.
Another reason for my 3 star rating is that I found aspects of this book predictable. I saw a lot of the drama coming before it even occurred. This isn’t the biggest reason for the lower rating but I just found some of the drama (meaning drama caused from women from James' past) that occurred in this book very similar to what happened in previous books.
Overall, I did enjoy reading James (Resisting Love #3) and would definitely recommend this series to anyone that is considering reading it.
Memorable Quotes:
J: “I’ll make it up to you tonight, okay. I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
S: “Good, you can go down on me for two hours.”
J: “Is that supposed to be a punishment for me? Cos it sounds like a reward.”
Out of the series, this was the one I was most disconnected to.
At this point we had had glimpses of these two characters in all the previous books. but nothing really could reconcile that there was no spark there AT ALL between both MC's of this story. In other words, I don't get how they got back together so fast after all that time and nothing between them but silence.
I know there will be more books in this Aussie series but I think it's time for me to jump this train. The stories are getting sloppy and uninteresting and the OW drama is boring and immature.
The suspence of James killed me! I tried and tried and tried to guess what James was up to, I had so many ideas, but I was wrong, I was sooooo wrong, it was something so different but so good, it made you see how good of a man James really is! My Girl Chantal, did NOT disappoint.
James is a brave man, a loyal man, an honest man, a family man and a hot, sexy man but like all men they do stupid sh*t and don’t think of the consequences, till they come back to bite you in the ass when you least expect it. James is pulled in a lot of different directions but the only direction he wants to go is to Sasha.
We see a different side to Sasha in James, don’t worry, she still a party animal when she can get out, and she’s still got her feisty streak, but it’s also nice to see her softer side, her maternal side.
The whole books sucks you in. It was set at the perfect pace. And we get to see both James and Sasha’s POV. There are lots of surprise that don’t expect, but in the end the man get the right girl!
Its also nice to see all the fun loving charaters we’ve grown to love in James, like Chase coming to the rescue and the funny and cheeky Kade, to see how they have all moved on in their lives and we also get to meet some new characters, Trey! We also see an insight into Sax that we haven’t seen before, and trust me, you want that insight!
I’ve said it before and ill say it again, LOVE LOVE LOVE this series…..
Sasha the h (has a little boy Jye) with James the H but due to miscommunication they were apart. At four months along in her pregnancy she made plausible efforts to let him know she was expecting.
The spurned lover refuses to answer her calls and avoids all means of communication (she rang him) and a female responded that he was ‘busy’, she left messages with family members but he refuses to contact her.
He ignored all efforts to communicate...the telephone works both ways, unless his fingers were broken. He was not celibate in fact he had a girlfriend although she remained chaste during their time apart. He feels sufficiently self-righteous in guilting her of withholding his son from him.
Sasha is ambushed unbeknownst to her ‘James’ is MARRIED. He had numerous opportunities to reveal his marriage and redeem himself instead he proposes marriage knowing that he is unavailable.
Perhaps “oh, honey - during our separation, I got married in Vegas and I am still married. Therefore we are having an extramarital affair and our son is illegitimate and not entitled to my surname” (despite his misplaced outrage that his son does not carry his surname).
This book frustrated me, I could not respect the H for his double standards and I have come to expect h’s without a backbone.
Female Advocacy: Chapter Six ‘pulling my phone out of my bra so I could call a cab’...It is well documented that carrying a mobile phone on your body (i.e. pocket or tucked in a bra) puts you at risk from harmful mobile phone radiation leading to infertility and a higher incidence of birth defects.
For women especially, carrying a mobile phone in the bra or bra strap has been linked with the development of breast cancer. My highly ranked Mammography Centre (a Trauma IV facility) has a largely displayed advisement cautioning women on the hazards of carrying a mobile device in a brassiere, undergarment or close to the skin.
The World Health Organization has classified mobile phones (and any wireless devices that use microwaves to communicate) as a group 2B risk − which means that they are “possibly carcinogenic to humans.” Many experts believe evidence is already strong enough to classify mobile phones as definite cancer causers.
I love these books, the characters are just so loveable and it's great that you still get to hear about them in the other books. Well done, a very enjoyable series, not I'm going to catch up with Ryder and hopefully James won't be too far behind!!! Lol
**BR with Sara and Sammy!**
If you have not read the other 3 books in the series,Chase, Kade & Ryder, I would suggest you do so before reading James. You will get a better understanding of everything happening and a better understanding of the characters in the book and how they all fit in together.
James has always been secretive about his line of work. Throughout all the books, I tried to figure out what his profession could be. You won't find out until later in the book, exactly what he does for a living that keeps his profession so secretive. There were time that he would disappear for days at a time and when he came back, he seemed to have bruises on different parts of his body, that he would never explain fully how he had gotten them. It was always a mystery where he went and what he did. When you do find out what he has been keeping so quiet, you will understand what a loyal and honest and trusted man he really is.
James had two secrets that he kept from Sasha. Not only his profession, but also a secret that could potentially ruin any chance at a relationship that he may have with Sasha. Although his profession has had to remain quiet, the one person that he should have confided in the whole time was Sasha. He didn't tell her what he did, until he was forced into it for a couple of reasons, which I will not say as it would ruin the book.
Sasha too had her own secret. Sasha and James had a brief encounter that brought complications. Sasha had left town for for two years, taking her secret with her. Sasha knows that when she returns that her secret will be revealed and it may not be taken well. You still got to see the fun loving, loyal but feisty side of Sasha, but you also got to see a warm loving side of her.
The whole time that James and Sasha were apart, they never forgot their feelings for one another. When Sasha returns, her and James try to work on their relationship, but it is not without complications. There are people that do not want them to be together and will stop at nothing to complicate situations even more.
James and Sasha got a second chance to start over. They were able to explore their feelings for each other and learned to forgive and trust each other and move forward.
There was many ups and downs in the story. There was passion, anger, hurt, betrayal, big secrets, humor, love and sex.
One thing I loved was how most of the characters made an appearance in each book of the "Resisting Love" series. It helped tie all the books together and fill in the pieces of what happened in each of the other books in the series.
I would definitely recommend reading the all the books in the series.
Sooooo I couldn't wait till James book because of his super secret job! I visioned CIA, FBI agent kinda job. And than when it came out I was waiting for something to happen to Sasha. Glad it didn't but still I was waiting for a boom. Oh and there was a boom just not to do with his job.Thank goodness for Chase to the rescue with his stalker abilities....lol. I love these brother and this is no secret if you have read my reviews but Kade was funny with his sexual innuendos. I have been a rut for about a month but this book had me from page one. Not only did James have his secrets but so did Sasha! I didn't want to go to bed! Enough about the brothers on to the women... I loved seeing all these women again! Layla was the awesome mother hen. Lucy is the best mother. Sasha's character has become a favorite. I would've started more crap than what she did and when she bashed that lady's head I couldn't but laugh and say "you go girl!" Hated Tatiana and her "ms officer" song. I would love love to read more on Tee and her Kadeish awesomeness! If you couldn't tell.... I loved this book! Love the series! James is all the brothers in one. All around a great guy wouldn't have expected the bedroom scenes! One word HOT! I hope to read more of these guys! Trey? Sax? Pretty please! I will continue to stalk Chantal! I love her name and love her books!
James baby,Yay! so curious about his secret job :D
I give solid 4.5 stars
I lovee this book, but not really love like the other 2 book (chase&kade) cause for me the heroine really too easly forgive the hero. I love they not fighting anymore but i mean why you gave up easily to him? But i still love this book :D
Goshhh when i read this book i really curious what is James jobs is Lol... I was thinking hes as secret agent (fbi/cia, etc), geng motors or ufc fighter and ohh boy i was so wrong! Hes job sooo freaking cool!! Hes really good man. And yep hes so alpha male like his brothers, hell yeah!
Sasha shes quite strong heroine, i like how she handle her life. But the other hand i not really like it how weak she is to james. Like how easly she forget what james did. Give bit drama to him sasha Lol
Overall this is good book, well writen and i quite funny also in here.
I can see how relationship easily being 'thrown' in unfortunate circumstance but you just need strong couple to make it works again.
I recomended all the people who craving alpha male, you need to read this book. But i suggested you read the other 3 books first ;) *pssstt they also freaking alpha male
For ms chantal fernando and dawn martens, can you pretty please make Sax-Tee story?? Because you give tiny bits how they interactions in this book now you got me curious :D
Awnn, this story was really sweet.
description
This book had everything going on. Great couple, great chemistry, great story line.
I loved pretty much every thing about it except one minor detail.
Every time there was a little drama, it just got fixed so, SO quickly.
Every single time, nothing really happened, so you didn't really get the 'Omg, what's going to happen' feeling in this book.
Things just got resolve really easily.
But apart from that, amazing book, just like all the rest of them.
JAMES
Having read the first two books with James's brothers, Chase and Kade I really looked forward to this this story, but while I liked it I didn't like it as much as the first two.
James was always a bit of a mystery in the first two books, I have to say when I found out his secret, I didn't think it was that big of a deal as to why he let it ruin his relationship with the woman he loved.
As I say I liked this but, here and there I found the story didn't gel too well for me. But the biggest reason for my three star rating is I just didn't feel the connection between the two leads.
I think this one is tied as on my favorites in the series with Chase. The James character was always so secretive and it was nice to finally read his story. I know Derek is the next one to have his book but I want a book for Sax!! Love this series, and a perfect read after reading some really heavy books lately! Looking forward to more from the authors.
3.5 stars. I was a bit disappointed with James. I was really looking forward to it after reading the other but this one felt very rushed in places and dare I say it a bit tedious at times. Never the less I'm looking forward to what's next!
1.5*. Largely skimmed this. Lots of characters from what I assume are other books in the series. A soap opera plot line but delivered so 'flatly', it was just words and no emotional depth.
edit: I just checked my review of her book that I'd earlier. I use the words 'no emotional depth' in that too. Maybe this is the authors writing style and it doesn't suit me.
Funny, kickass, sweet, intense, shocking are just some words to describe this book... You'll love it!!
I was dying and couldn't sleep last night, wanting to read this book.... And I must say it was totally worth the wait!!
James was such a sweetheart, never in my life I would have imagined what type of mysterious work he did and when it was reveal I was shocked, seriously just stunned.... Another reason to love him....
Sasha was the one for James, they fit each other perfectly... Loved their connection!
I loved how through all the books, the male characters seem to grow, become wiser, caring, family men... Just awesome! ❤
Amd the women, don't even get me started, all so loyal, sassy, feisty... My roll models!!
Again the men in this series are just freaking perfect, and now we add Trey and Saxon, I can't wait for their stories either...
Fav quotes:
“The two of us have created something so perfect, and I had no idea.”
“I love you. I’ve always loved you, and I’m never going to stop,”
“Well, I hear you’re happy now, that’s all that matters to me”
“Did you draw penises on my brother’s faces?”
“Sasha Crawford. I’ve loved you since the day I met you, and I will never stop. You are my soul mate, my better half. Will you marry me?”
“I love you so much. I want you in my life, Sasha. Now that I know what it feels like to have you here, I can’t go back to being without you. You know I'll never take you for granted and I'll always treat you like the princess you are. We're perfect together, please don’t give up on me”
“My woman and son are both happy right now, and I couldn’t ask for more”
“I fucking love this woman.”
“My first born son with the love of my life.”
James....❤❤❤❤
“That’s right. He told me you were beautiful, smart, kind-hearted, feisty.”
“He told me that he loves you, a lot. That you will always be his baby girl no matter how old you get. When you had your son he was pissed that the father wasn’t there and you were alone. He wanted to fly over but then Trey spoke to him and told him that he was taking care of you”
Saxon and Ryder... ❤❤❤
“My eyes widen as I watch both of them pick-up their sandwich, take a bite, and then wipe their mouths with the back of their hands at the exact same time.”
“Sometimes it feels like family is the only people you can trust,”
Sasha...
“What you thinking about, pretty girl?” James asks in a deep, rumbling tone.
“You.”
“And?”
“I want you,” I blurt out.
“You have me, always,” he says, his tone gentler.
“Promise?”
“You’re it for me, Sasha,” is all he says as he kisses me with such passion, such love, I know that he means what he says.
This is forever.”
James and Sasha... ❤❤❤
You've done it again Chantal Fernando Thank you! :)
4.5 Stars!!!!
Well, Chantal has done it again! Another amazing book! Seriously, can this author write a bad book??? I think not! I am absolutely THRILLED that things with James FINALLY get explained (where he was always running off to or why he was never around)!!! And it was well worth the wait (Even though it was not revealed until about halfway through this book!).
This book follows the story of James and Sasha. Yes, the same James that I was drooling over in the beginning of the first book (Chase). The amount of hot guys in this series is almost unfair... ALMOST. I mean, how on earth am I supposed to pick just ONE book boyfriend from this series... can't I just have them all?
Sasha had left James because she was certain he had cheated on her. One drunken night allowed her to put her guard down so that they were able to have a single night of pleasure once again. After that night, Sasha traveled to Scotland, staying with her cousin Trey, and it was there that she gave birth to her baby boy. When she returns home to Australia, all it takes is one look at her son Jye for everyone to know that James is the father. Needless to say, he is heartbroken to find out he had a son, and that he missed out on the first sixteen months of his life. Over the past couple years, the feelings that Sasha and James had for each other never died away. And seeing each other once again, and James finding out he is the father just intensifies these feelings. But Sasha does not want to let him get too close to her. She will not allow herself to be hurt once again by the man she never stopped loving. James however, will not simply accept that... he has things from his past that he needs to tell Sasha, to try and make her understand. When she finally relents and lets him back in, will the love they still have for each other be enough to keep them together, especially when the truth comes out? With things from both of their pasts coming to light, can their relationship survive this time around?
"I love this face. So f**king beautiful. Your lips. You were made for me."
Now James, he is one kinky man. Seems to be a bit of a Dom in the bedroom which leads to some kick ass sex scenes. I just wish those scenes were a little longer because they were so HOT! But he is also such a sweet and kind hearted man. It's no wonder Sasha can't keep her hands off of him.
" "James?" she says my name huskily, her voice raspy with pleasure. "Yeah." "F*ck me," she begs."
With the perfect blend of Family, love, suspense, and a little humor, this is one book you will not want to miss out on!
James....... James....... James Steele you have stolen my heart! Lord out of all the brothers and hot a$$ guys I have always since Chase loved James. I love a tall dark and brooding man. I loved the mystery behind him and I was rooting for James all the way. When Sasha saw him after their bad break up I was hoping and wishing they got back together because it was evident that the two belonged together. But James secrets kept them apart.
After successfully ignoring him and not seeing him a while he and Sasha are thrown together at Nikki and Kade's wedding. Once again the passion between is palpable between them and they hook up for one last time.
When we start James's story we start off with Sasha being gone from Perth because she left after her last fling with James. She needs a vacation and when she goes to Scotland to be with her cousin Trey when she finds out she is pregnant with James baby.
It is almost two years later that Sasha decides she wants to go home because she misses her family and she misses James. When she arrives in Perth Layla and Chase go to the airport to pick her and her son Jye up. When Layla sees Jye she knows he is James son and Chase wants to know what has happened and why she has kept Jye a secret and when Sasha explains that she tried to talk to James but he never called her back Chase is both pissed and Happy because he knows that James is going to be excited about his son.
When James comes to see Sasha after not seeing her for two years and sees Jye he goes through a lot of emotions but the one emotion Sasha never thought he would have is love. He loves his son and he is determined to be a part of his sons life and he wants Sasha back. He wants to be a family and he is determined to be a family and make it work with Sasha. James knows he has to come clean with what he does as a job but he is afraid Sasha may not understand but he knows he better do it soon because losing Sasha and his son is not an option for him.
Plus James has secrets and these secrets can either make or break Sasha and his relationship. Will James come clean with all his secrets in time or will Sasha leave again and take their son?
Chantal thank you so much for writing James story because I have loved him since Chase and I LOVED LOVED his story! Team James and Sasha!
James, James, James....hmmmm....well, it was pretty darn good.
I have only a few grumbles here and there....but, we'll get to those.
Basically, as you all know, this is James and Sasha's tale of woe. Young lovers who come back together and get a second chance.
This is one of those were a ridiculous amount of miss communication allows several things to go unsaid and undone. Feelings get hurt, words get crossed, or never said it all. You know, one were when you really think about REALLY irritates you?
But, things get cleared up FAIRLY early on some things. Of course there are a couple "surprises" toward the end but the story does wrap up nice and pretty like the previous ones.
So whats the grumbling about? Well, as most of you know, when you have a good, strong, hot, sexy, dangerous Alpha, what good is he if there isn't some trouble a brewing? I mean, I want some danger people! I don't care if Sasha just needs to trip and fall and get a bloody scrape, that friggin Alpha better swoop in and apply the Neosporin. I mean, he even has a dangerous, hot profession? I could have so seen this played out differently. Like, do to his profession he gets called in only to find that *gasp* Sasha got mixed up with a powerful dangerous man and is being abused and now it's his job to save her and keep her safe! Okay, so, that's been done a million times, but does it ever get less hot? Didn't think so.
So anyway, obviously, I loved the book, I just hate feeling like something is missing. That's how I felt about it, like it just needed SOMETHING. Some umph in a category that didn't have to do with yet another catty female or run in with old lovers. Also, I felt that Sasha and James both never came to realize they were both to blame for ALL their previous miss communication, instead I felt like they just both agreed to disagree....that bothered me as well as they both used it quite frequently to throw in eachother's faces when it really made them look like a hypocrite each time they did.
Any who-who! Loved it, recommend it, great series as per usual writing was excellent! Great authors, great series!
I have wanted to know more about James and his secrets for so long that I couldn’t wait for this book to release. So when I got asked to review this book I jumped at the chance and let me tell you Chantal did NOT disappoint me with his story at all!
James has secrets that ruined his relationship with Sasha years ago but the two of them have never gotten over one another. Then after a drunken night together Sasha runs off to Scotland to visit her cousin so she can finally get over James once and for all. But things don’t always go as planned and she ends having secrets of her own that she must deal with when she comes back almost two years later. But can these soul mates get past all the hurt and secrets to finally have their happy ever after. You will have to read the book to find out all the secrets and if they can finally forgive one another since I don’t want to spoil this amazing book for you.
Each book in this series just keeps getting better and better. I absolutely love the Steele brothers and I have wanted to know James’s secrets since book one. Well let me tell you finding out all about him only made me love him even more. His love and protectiveness for Sasha stole my breath away just as his brothers in the first books did.
Sasha is defiantly a girl I could see myself hanging out with. She is laid back but you do not mess with her loved ones or her claws will come out and they are sharp when she feels you have done wrong to her or her family.
This book defiantly lives up to the previous books with the HOT and SEXY. Because when Sasha and James come together their chemistry burns the pages it’s that smoking HOT! But don’t take my word for it run out and buy this book and while you’re at it get all the books so you can meet the Sexiness of the Steele brothers for yourself. 5/5 Bloody Fangs
*I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review*
I love this flippin series! I have deeper in love with each and every guy so far, I still have to read finish Ryder and Derek, but the brothers Steele...are to die for! James is my favorite. But I have said that about the last two as well..lol
James is the boy with all the secrets. No one knows what he does and why he does it. He has a rather long list of previous lovers and like his brothers before him, he has finally met the one. Except our boy James is kind of a jerk to his One. Oh wait, that is a Steele trait too. But when he loses Sasha and has to try to move on without her, we see him struggle. We see another one of our Steele boys struggle with emotions not really known to them. He can't get her out of his heart or his head.
Sasha is done. D O N E, done. James pushed her away by cheating on her, or so she thinks. But like the ladies before her she hasn't checked all the facts before jumping to conclusions. But James isn't the only one with a huge secret. Sasha has her own...and it is a doozy!
I love this series! I have loved this series since Chace and each book I love more and more! This by far is my favorite! And if you haven't read this series yet, you are seriously missing out!
I give James 5 lipsticks!
For James she's the one that got away and he didn't believe they can get back together after his oh so secretive job tear them apart , but when Sasha comes home after time abroad with a secret that can shake his life to its core we get to see if James is willing to let go of what he has for something he always wanted .
The story told in James, is one of a couple who never should have been apart. Sasha and James fit each other like a lock and key, and the addition of little Jye...wow!
Their love story is one that will resonate with readers, because it could be an d is the story of so many.
Two people wanting desperately to be together, but finding themselves and their relationships falling victim to misunderstandings and unresolved hurts.
The thing that sets this story apart is Jame's family, and their willingness to accept and forgive both James and Sasha.
Little Jye is just so adorable, and the innocence and unconditional love that he brings into the saga makes him the tie that binds his parents together.
The book's author manages to achieve that perfect balance between romance and realism with her characters; while never sacrificing the integrity the story as a whole.
The love scenes are just spicy enough to give readers a taste of the passion the lovers share, without being too overt.
This is a wonderful book that can be read as a stand-alone though it is part of an awesome series. - See more at: http://www.wtfareyoureading.com/2013/...
