From 2006 until 2012, Jack was involved in a series of legal actions against Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code (2003) and Angels & Demons (2000). Jack claimed Brown made over $1 billion by copying the entire structure, plots, characters and their interactions, Opus Dei and Knights groups, scenes, locations, "all in an easily identifiable chapter by chapter sequence" from his 1997 novel The Vatican Boys.
