Leigh Harmond had spent most of her life keeping who and what she was private. It was safer for everyone that way. That is, until one day some stupid vampire decided to stalk her, and what’s worse, he made her use her power. Now, there was no more hiding from Merrick who thought she belonged to him.
Rebel knew from the moment he saw her that she was meant to be his mate. So what if he really didn’t know what species she was and if he went about it all wrong. But once he had her, he never planned to let go. Not even if it meant changing what he was, or fighting another to the death. And this time, it just may be to the death….
I live in KY with my family. While I hold a "real job" my first love will always be writing. I enjoy lots of different kinds of books, and many different authors. Some of my favorites are, but not limited to, Sandra Hill, Lori Foster, Kelly Armstrong, Stephen King, James Patterson, J.R. Ward and Emma Holly. But I think I would read just about anything with a good plot.
WOW...I have read Danielle's first two books, but this one had me gasping a few times. Danielle James brings to life a love story I never thought possible!
One of Angel Knights band mates, Rebel, becomes obsessed with a curvy stranger. Little does he know Leigh is onto him and wants to put a stop to his prying before her secret is out. Leigh is running from her past and no one can get close to her unless they want to be put themselves in constant danger. Danger must be Rebel's middle name as he is persistent and even after learning about Leigh's past and who, or rather what, she really is his obsession only grows stronger.
The story of the Knight clan continues and in Book 3 gets even better than the last!
I don't know if these books keep getting better or if it's just me, I love the characters and so far the stories have been fresh and interesting, sometimes in a series with the same characters things have a tendency to get a little stale but this has not happened here I think the introduction characters like Leigh helps since she brings with her a whole new dynamic. In the interest of fairness I will say that I was given a pre-release copy of this book to read and give my opinion this came about purely by chance when I started reading Into the Light realised it wasn't the first book in the series, since I couldn't find Dark Angel I contacted Danie who sent me a copy asking only that I give a fair review. I was very impressed with Danie since it can't be easy having your work critisied but I sent her my list and she sent me back a list of changes explaining why she had or had not changed certain things. At one point in the book I was not happy I can't say anymore without giving the plot away but once I'd got to the end I felt better, you'll understand when you read it. In my opinion this is a series not to miss if you love paranormal romance.
This is the second book in the series that I have read by Danielle James. After following Angel and Brea in the previous book I was hooked. I was curious to see how James would come up with something as good as the first book. I was not disappointed with Into the Fire. In this hot sequeal you follow Rebel, band mate and brother to Angel as he struggles to win over his mate. The problem, she wants nothing to do with him and they could potentially be fatally incompatible. I am not going to tell you who Leigh, his intended mate really is, but you will be surprised as James goes outside of the typical human/vampire mating story line. This book has more intense action that the previous story and the sex scenes are slightly more edgy. A great read. I am looking forward to the next book.
I was given Into The Fire by the author in exchange for an honest review. Holy Cow!! Book 3 was amazing!!! I love this series!! Rebel finds his mate in a most surprising female and Leigh wants absolutely nothing to do with him. Still loving the fact that the characters from the first 2 books abound in this one. Can't get enough of this family!! Their journey is filled with excitement, humor, love, family, and gut wrenching sadness. So many emotions were wrung from me while reading this story! Danielle James just gets better and better!! Again, I read it in one sitting. They are hard to put down. Loved it!!
I so wanted to love Rebel's story, but somehow, I couldn't give it a better rating. I hated the foul mouth and bad attitude of Leigh. I understand her circumstances; been running for ages, cannot get close to anyone, but she was worst than Brea. She did redeem herself at the end, realizing the value of family and love but my God..... I just hated how she treated Rebel and her thoughts about him were so degrading... Couldn't enjoy it as much but will continue reading this series 'til the very end.
This series just keeps getting hotter. Rebel is my new official favorite. His mannerisms, his style, his sense of humor, pretty much everything about him is seductive. This is also my favorite book in the series so far. I don't want to give details away, but I can say that I loved the new types of paranormal folk that were introduced into this novel. And the ending! I'll just say I'm looking forward to the next one!!
This innovative story goes outside of the realm of typical cross-species paranormal romance, offering the reader an exhilarating, fictional ride that takes off running from the first page.
This story was incredible, outstanding, exciting and just plain fantastic. It has non-stop action and awesome characters. Danielle is an amazing writer with a fantastic imagination 😊😆😁.
