Review of Surrender To Me by Ella Jade

As always Ms Jade blew me away with this book. Surrender To Me is the second book in the Master M series. We met Master M in book one, Make Me Stay, when he made a brief appearance and stole the hearts of readers everywhere. This book is definitely hot and steamy, Jade knows her erotica. *wink wink
While Christian Grey is one of the best book boyfriends of all time, he is far from the best book Dom… in fact, he isn’t even close to what people in the BDSM community consider a true Dom. With that said, Martin is the fictional version of a true Dom. He is in charge and in control of all things. I love that even as he dominates he is respectful, mature, and kind. Jade masterfully created a Dominant who is caring, loving, sexy, and tender. Most sane women would see the crazy in Christian and run the other way, whereas, women would be on their knees begging Martin to own them.
Arianna isn’t the typical female character you expect to see in a BDSM story. You see meek, timid, and shy in most books these days. Not Ari, no way, she is strong, independent, and looking for a fresh start. She doesn’t need a man to fulfill her, but she is intrigued with Martin and his way of life… it’s refreshing to see how things unfold between the Dominant Master M and the not so submissive Arianna.
I give this book a solid 5 stars; it is THE must read in erotic romance this summer!

Ari's sassy attitude lands her the job as exclusive attorney to one of the most dominate man she has ever met.
Arianna is not like the women Martin, normally deals with. She is strong and independent.
He finds himself craving his feisty attorney, and the chemistry and flirty banter between the two, tells him that Arianna feels it to.
For the first time in his life, he was attracted to a woman who could challenge him and teach him and something different. He wants to take a chance on her.
Arianna makes it very clear from the start that she will not submit like the women in Martin's club, it's not something she can do. But something about the dynamics of Master and Sub intrigues her.
Their attraction is hot and Martin is willing to take her anyway he can have her.
Arianna can't fully submit to Martin, but is willing to try in different ways. But fears she won't be enough for Martin.
Martin would love to make Arianna submit but knows it will take time, but even if she never did, he believes just being with her will be enough.
Martin falls hard and fast for Arianna. He loves her sassy attitude at times, and part of her appeal to him may have been that she couldn't totally submit to him. The way she tests his limits unlocks feelings and desires he never knew he possessed.
As time and trust is earned, Arianna willingly submits to her Master.
Can they find the balance of his Dominating ways and her not so Submissive attitude? Will she be enough for him? Can he handle not having total control over the woman her loves?
I really, really enjoyed this. I'm always a little scared with BDSM books. But I think I need to stop worrying and start enjoying cause in the last 3 BDSM books I have read, I have really enjoyed them.
This was my second Ella Jade read. I really like her writing style.
I loved that there wasn't really any major conflict / drama. I was waiting for it, but it was nice to read them communicate with each other.
I didn't read the 1st in the series before starting this, there was a back story involving 2 other characters and Martin, but didn't feel like I miss to much by not reading it.
However I will be going back to read Cade and Gracie's story. They have me intrigued.
I really hope Hunter gets a story...

I don’t know where to start with Martin Abrams. Something about him in Make Me Stay made me so excited for this release, and I was far from disappointed. He’s the ultimate Dom, and owner of a sex club. The book kicks off with him interviewing for a new attorney, but Arianna isn’t what he expects.
Arianna’s been through a messy divorce and moves to get her life back on track. Taking a job as Martin’s attorney opens her eyes to a world she doesn’t know much about, but it doesn’t scare her away, instead makes her curious.
The sexual tension between the two is off the charts and when they get down to it more than sparks fly. But it’s not all kink (though that’s definitely there). The relationship which forms between Martin and Arianna is captivating. Both have issues to work through to be together, rules to learn and a whole new lifestyle. Surrender to Me is fast paced, sexy as hell and absolutely fantastic. A definite must read.
Be sure to pick up the first in the series, Make Me Stay.

I absolutely love this book; an unlikely but heartfelt and sexy romance, sensual BDSM, and an emotional journey towards submission, compromise, understanding, and ultimately love.
I adore the main characters in this story. Ari and Martin may have very different expectations for relationships, but they are willing to put that aside and attempt to build a future together, in spite of the obstacles. He’s a Dominant, and she is NOT a submissive. Their journey shows the trust it takes to venture in to the unknown in an an effort to find a love that can only exist on middle ground. Not only does Martin push Ari’s limits of submission, she pushes his limits as a man.
The writing is clean, smooth, beautiful and engaging, I was captivated by the entire story. Sensual and deliciously titillating BDSM scenes, an emotional love story, and just enough drama and humor combine in this lovely book: a few fantastic hours of escape, where I smiled, shed a few tears, and basked in the afterglow of a happily-ever-after.

Ella Jade does it again. This is such a fun, hot, and unputdownable read. Arianna is spunky, smart, a bit broken by her last relationship, and not a natural sub by anyone's definition. Martin is dominant in all he does, not to mention hotter than hot. This unlikely couple sets the pages on fire as they learn what they really want out of life and each other.
I first met Martin in Make Me Stay. While I loved that book, I was not a huge Martin fan. I guess part of me always questioned whether or not he truly let Gracie go. Another part of me wondered if he was so closed off that he never let her in and that was why he was able to let her go so easily. Either way, I was not a fan. Going into this book I was a bit worried I would not connect with him because of my past thoughts. I was so wrong. I think I fell in love with Martin before Arianna did. If you are already a Martin fan, you are going to love this book. If you are like me and are unsure of him, you are going to love this book.
This is the sequel to Make Me Stay, but it is a stand alone read with crossover characters. You could easily pick this up, read it, and not feel like you are missing any key information. That being said, Make Me Stay is a good book and is worth checking out.

I fell in love with Martin in Ella Jade's Make Me Stay. I was excited to read more about this elusive and exciting man and we get it here. He is the Master Dom and everything demanding and sexy I dreamed him to be. Ella didn't go easy on this guy though. She put Ari in his path, a woman meant to be his, but she's not a submissive, or is she?
This story is all romance and then some, yum. Surrender to Me is a sexy hot ride. Watching two strong characters fall in love with the type of person they were least expecting is captivating. I enjoyed watching Ari melt and give in to Martin's dominating hand.
Ari's insecurities are tested. Martin's dominance is tested. These two push and pull and, well, you'll have to read it for yourself. I recommend this book to all BDSM erotic romance readers.

Surrender To Me is the follow up to Make Me Stay. This book can be read as part of the series or it can stand alone. The story is told in a third person POV.
When I started this book I wanted so much to love the story and I did!
Martin is the dominant with a soft side. He finds himself alone after his prior submissive found her true love and got married. He is known in the BSDM community for helping to pair couples into healthy BDSM relationships. Arianna is an attorney who is recovering from the hurt and betrayal of her ex husband. She has relocated to start fresh and begin a new life.
Martin is looking for an attorney to help with his Real Estate business transactions, he is introduced to Arianna by her cousin Hunter who is also a member of Martin's exclusive BDSM Club Master M's. When Hunter introduces Arianna to Martin he fails to mention the other type of business he owns. The attraction between them is clear during their first encounter. Martin is not sure what he is supposed to do with his feelings towards Arianna because he knows that she is not a submissive nor does she have any clue about the lifestyle he lives. When Arianna goes to Master M's for the first time she realizes what type of club it is and is instantly curious.
When Martin requests that Arianna travel to his Connecticut home to deal with some of his other business affairs, the attraction between them grows and can no longer be denied. After one night of unbelievable, hot intimate passion, like nothing Arianna or Martin has ever experienced, they decide they want to be together.
"I believe we're compatible either way"
"You wouldn't be upset if I didn't want to__"
"Play?" He finished her sentence for her.
She nodded.
"I won't lie. I'd be disappointed but never upset. It's your choice. It will always be your choice." He needed to make sure she understood. Once back in New York and back to the Club reality of how to deal with their Dom/Sub relationship and how to combine that with a normal loving relationship proves to be more difficult in the real world. They need to learn to find balance between what they know and their new unfamiliar roles.
The passion between Martin and Arianna is definitely HOT! The playroom scenes are a little less often than I would have liked. That is why we read these HOT BDSM books, isn't it? There were times during the book that I felt it was a little rushed. Because of this, I felt like we missed out on some aspects of the story. There were times I wished the book would have slowed down a bit and explained a little more in depth about how and why the characters came to feel the deep feelings that they felt.

Martin and his sweetly spoken dominating words could melt your heart and panties! Swoon!
When I read this book I had not read book one of this series. I have now added that book (Make Me Stay) to my TBR and hope to read it soon. I look forward to more books in this series. Maybe Hunter and Nadia's story?

Once back in New York and back to the Club reality of how to deal with their Dom/Sub relationship and how to combine that with a normal loving relationship proves to be more difficult in the real world. They need to learn to find balance between what they know and their new unfamiliar roles.
The passion between Martin and Arianna is definitely HOT! The playroom scenes are a little less often than I would have liked. That is why we read these HOT BDSM books, isn't it? There were times during the book that I felt it was a little rushed. Because of this, I felt like we missed out on some aspects of the story. There were times I wished the book would have slowed down a bit and explained a little more in depth about how and why the characters came to feel the deep feelings that they felt.

When I read this book I had not read book one of this series. I have now added that book (Make Me Stay) to my TBR and hope to read it soon. I look forward to more books in this series. Maybe Hunter and Nadia's story?

I am going to be honest and say that the BDSM genre is not really a favorite of mine, but there are some authors that I am willing to step out of my comfort zone and read what they write. When Ella Jade gave us Make Me Stay, I knew I had to read it. I have enjoyed her previous releases, so I thought why not. I have read all but one of her stories as of writing this (5/28/13).
We are introduced to Martin in Make Me Stay when Gracie returns to Cade. To understand why Martin is important to Gracie, you should read Make Me Stay. This book is Martin's story and let me tell you, I fell in love with Martin. If there were more men like Martin, I think there would be a lot less single women, me being one of them. *sighs* Sadly, Martin is not mine, but we get to see two different sides of Martin, the Dom and the man in love.
Arianna is Martin's new attorney, but she comes in and knocks Martin for a loop. Well, I think both threw each other for a loop, but I think that was meant to happen I loved that Arianna was strong and confident in who she is to recognize when she could and could be submissive and Martin was able to accept that. I loved seeing Martin and Arianna begin learning about how the other lives.
There is so much that I want to say about this story, but it would give a lot away. I loved seeing Arianna stand up for what she believed was wrong even if it meant going against the rule of the D/s status quo. I respect that Martin understood where she was coming from and still listened to her concerns.
I did feel bad for Arianna at one point because she felt threatened my Gracie, who does make an appearance with Cade. I love that we got to see Gracie and Cade again, but Ms. Jade left some questions regarding these two open. I loved that Gracie made Arianna comfortable with her and that she had no reason to feel threatened by their past and their current relationship.

Wow!! I loved this book! I have read books with BDSM relationships before, but Surrender to Me took the Dom/Submissive on a new level!
I love how Ella Jade made the "sub" not really a submissive. Arianna Covington is a strong, independent, successful lawyer who has climbed her way to the top with hard work, dedication to her cases, and intelligence. She has relocated to escape the aftermath of a nasty divorce from a cheating husband and decides to fully take on a client on as her one and only. She has no idea what she is getting into when she agrees to his terms.
Martin Abrams is a well established business man, extremely wealth, and is also the owner of Master M's a BDSM club. He has vowed to not take on another submissive since his last one left him to get married after he fell in love with her. He knew all along that she as only there to be trained for her Dom boyfriend, but he couldn't control his heart. His world is about to be turned upside down when he hires a new real estate attorney that is about to make him question his lifestyle, and second guess if he could ever have a "vanilla" relationship and fore go his BDSM ways.
I give Surrender to Me 4 stars on the knock my socks off scale. I love the twists that the author included to make this well used topic fresh and gave BDSM a new perspective. Solid 4.5 Stars - rounded up ;)
There is a lot to enjoy within the pages of Surrender to Me. The characters aren't quite what you expect when you hear this is a BDSM type of story. Arianna is bossy independent and very used to having her way. Martin is exactly the same. Neither can deny the physical attraction they feel but can they compromise enough to make things pleasurable for the both of them?
Positives. . . Surrender to Me is very hot. It is realistic in how Arianna and Martin both learn the art of give and take. There are a lot of emotions running through the story that gives it some up and down feeling. Negative . . . I felt there was really a lack of conflict between these characters. They didn't really fight, there wasn't much of a big drama to tug them apart or pull them together.
I can honestly say, I couldn't put the book down. I read it quickly and with great pleasure. And while at times I thought the lack of conflict a negative, there are times it was a nice change not to have to wade through the drama and let the character focus on more mundane but very realistic issues of merging his lifestyle and hers together and dealing with everyday concerns.
I am looking forward to picking up Make Me Stay so I can play catch up with the characters and can't wait to see if Ella Jade gives us more of this series. I really want to read about the others we met!!

Martin Abrams is the ultimate Dom, who just met his perfect woman in the not so submissive attorney Arianna Covington. The attraction and chemistry between these two is off the charts from first glance. Watching two very vivid characters try and fulfill each other’s desires was brilliantly done. Martin is willing to be vanilla for Arianna and she’s willing to try letting go and submitting to his dominance when it calls to something inside her.
They had an interesting journey that I enjoyed being part of. They’re both strong characters that easily fell into this comfortable relationship of love and trust with some bumps along the way. Ms. Jade does an excellent job of blending a D/s lifestyle with a vanilla relationship.

Ever since his sub Gracie left and got married he feels that something is missing and he just doesn't feel the same anymore. That was until his friend brings his cousin in to be his new lawyer.
Arianna Covington has got a divorce from her cheating husband and moves away to start over. She plans on opening her own lawyer's office. When she meets Martin sparks fly and she tells him up front that she isn't a submissive. He tells her that he doesn't need it and can give it up for her if she wants him to.
This was a great story and I loved the characters. Martin isn't the big and bad DOM as I thought he was. He really cares for everyone in his club and wants to take care of them. Once again, Ella has written an absolutely unputdownable book! And I mean that, I read Make Me Stay in one sitting and couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one and I’m glad to say Surrender To Me does not disappoint! In fact, it completely surpassed my expectations, I love this author and every book of hers I read is better than the last.
Martin is everything you’d want in a dom and a hero. He is hot, hot, hot, strong and completely believable as a Master. But he also has a mature, protective and sensitive side which is what I think makes him really stand out. Arianna is also a very strong heroine, she is not what Martin Abrams expects and he has definitely met his match with her! The tension between them will have your kindle sizzling in your hands!
The introduction of interesting secondary characters will leave you yearning for the next book, and it promises to continue to be an amazing series. You can read Surrender To Me without reading Make Me Stay but I think you’ll want to read everything this series has to offer and more. For me, this is the BDSM romance of 2013 and an absolute must read!

Arianna and Martin. Now this couple is a walking contradiction. And I loved every single minute of it! Martin with his Dom lifestyle and Arianna being the one wearing the pants in her last relationship. The two not only have overwhelming chemistry, but a lot to tackle to be able to love one another.
The passion and lust these two have will have you fanning yourself all of the way through the book. The way these two find common ground and compromise on their terms is endearing and HOT! This book is the perfect combination of romance novella and erotica novella. There is enough balance between the two make this the most easy read I have had in a while. The book is well written, the characters are engaging but I would not define it as a typical BDSM romance. Given that the heroin is no sub, the story focuses more on the capacity of the hero to find a balance between being DOM and living a more vanilla relationship. No spanking, bearly any bondage, no real scene. But that was ok, the story was nice and I think at the end more realistic than many other BDSM romances - hardly few people are able to conduct a 100% D/s relationship; so this book shows how it is possible to reconcile a "normal" public life with the more private lifestyle

Martin is a Master DOM who owns a club for the BDSM group. He makes sure it's safe for everyone. Lately he hasn't been himself especially since Gracie left. When he needed a new attorney, Martin had no idea what he was getting. Arianna was trying to put her life back together after her divorce and was looking for new clients. Her cousin introduced her to Martin. What happens next makes for a very Hot and loveable story.
